NeddyHernandez
This topic is to discuss what's going on in whatever developmental/child companies you have in any of your saves; who's being developed, who's training them, who's just working, who's going to be called up... Joseph_D
I actually have three different developmental promotions, all for different purposes.

Two, I bought out and one was one I founded:

First, my promotion is called Vendetta Pro Wrestling.

Then, my main development fed that I started was Vendetta Pro Wrestling Underground (or just "Underground" for short).

I bought out the Return To The Islands promotion which was running in Hawaii, and running it as a Child Promotion. It's a promotion based strictly on entertainment. So, I put in my workers that need the most development in that area there.

I also bought out Explicit Pro Wrestling, and run it also as a Child Promotion. This is a promotion where Key Features are "Hardcore" and "Hyper Realism". So, in other words, you're gonna get beat up pretty well there. I send my workers who need work on Physical skills (primarily Toughness).

The two Child Promotions hire their own workers as well, so RTTI has people who are decent on the mic, while ExPW has a few Psychopaths to go with those I am trying to toughen up.

Then I use Underground as strictly a Developmental Fed for those who are fairly well rounded, but who can improve with some work.
Daylyt
I got bored of one of my saves and decided to buyout as many companies as I could. I ended up with 12 development companies and then I created an alliance and had a world title, TV title and tag titles between myself and the 12 I took over. I got hooked on it and started autobooking my shows and focusing on only the alliance and having big PPVs with my roster vs the development rosters. I also had my own broadcaster and created TV shows for all of them. so that was pretty fun..
sportsfanmas
I saw a post recently that explained the differences between a developmental territory and a child company. I understand that developmental, you have to use all your own wrestlers and book it and everything, whereas the child company, the AI handles things, has their own roster, but you can still choose to send your wrestlers down to get some work if needed. Am I understanding that right?

For example, in my WCW Montreal Aftermath Dynasty, if I wanted to work a deal with one of the lower promotions to have them be my child company, I could choose the head booker and everything, and also send wrestlers from WCW's main roster there? Just want to understand because it's something I'm thinking about doing.

So if you don't have enough workers there, or no refs or not road agents, a child company will just hire what they need. The downside is that if they hire addition workers, they can hire workers who are more popular than your development talent, meaning that those workers might get more spotlight and use instead of yours. Hmm, never thought of that. So then in your opinion would I be better off making a developmental territory, or trying to get a child company? I don't have a lot of workers I would want to send down for extra work, maybe 10 or so and maybe not even all at once. I just don't want to book the developmental territory. I'm going to have my hands full with WCW! I guess one option could be to create a developmental territory and autobook everything.

The AI booker will do the booking no matter which you set it as. With a developmental territory, they will only use the talent you give them. They don't have the option to hire more. But at the same time, they fact that they can't hire more means that if you don't hire sufficient talent, they can't run shows. Personally I just go with a child company. I know I'll keep them stocking with enough prospects that they won't have to hire many extra workers. And if the AI chooses to headline a worker who isn't a developmental worker, well they're doing it because its the best thing for the company, so I can deal with it. Bigpapa42
Mentioned this in another thread but figured I would actually post my setup.

So using WCW in a modded version of Genadi's WCW Lives mod. Start in June of 2001. I typically open as big of a child promotion as I can afford, but I decided to go the opposite direction this time. I opened four of the smallest size, so spent just $400k in total. All four use the same basic performance equals popularity product as WCW (with tweaks to the match type ratios) and all four are using a touring schedule.

Outlaw Championship Wrestling - Greensborough, North Carolina - a rather old school southern vibe, but with a more modern in-ring twist.

Art of Wrestling - Las Vegas, Nevada - a modern, high-paced product, catering to an ever-changing cycle of tourist-fans.

Legion Pro Wrestling - Chicago, Illinois - a mix between the other two, with plenty of hard-hitting action.

Dixie Belle Wrestling - Memphis, Tennessee - a women's promotion. Altho WCW doesn't have a women's division and I'm not sure I will add one, there isn't anywhere for women to work besides the WWF until NWA-TNA opens, and then Shimmer down the road. So if nothing else, it will help the women's side of wrestling in the US by developing a few into real strong talents.

All four got about 15 developmental prospects each. They are set as Child Companies so they will sign addition workers. I added a bunch more potential owners and bookers. Don't have the game in front of me, but its names like JJ Dillon, Jerry Lawler, Steve Keirn, etc.

In testing, the combination of product, touring schedule, talent, and lack of direct competition saw all of them grow pretty effectively. That initially is what convinced me that starting out at the smaller size will be fine. I ran another test where they all got a TV show on a broadcaster I opened (Tiny size, US only) and that not only ensured the companies grew but worker popularity grew quite impressively. It will be some time in game before I can afford that but its definitely the goal.

Another idea I've toyed with is setting up a loaning alliance between them, allowing them to borrow talent and maybe even having a travel champion they can share between them.
DoubleA012
Quick Question

Sorry, this is just slightly off topic, but I'm curious if its possible to actually book your developmental or child companies at all? I wouldnt mind setting up a 2 or 3 player game and controlling WWE, NxT and maybe like Evolve or something else I make a child company so I can control all 3 dynamics of my "WWE Universe" so to speak. Because on thing I have noticed is say I want Liv Morgan to have a push in developmental, currently I have no way to force that to happen right? (Imagine WWE sending down Eva Marie and making NxT user her for shows recently). I could send down Heath Slater in hopes of reinventing him and pushing him as a World Champion, but in reality if I send him down he may be over looked for say Nakamura, Aries, Roode, or Joe, as a few examples. Anyway to do that or is that just part of the downside of a "developmental/child" that they autobook and pick their own "pushes" so to speak?
