WWE Presents Battle of the Best

Executive VP of Talent, Paul Levsque aka Triple H, walks upto a podium in a room filled with reporters. They have been asked to gather only being told of a big announcement being made today but not told any details of what to expect.

Thank you everyone for coming today. On the heels of a successful Global Cruiserweight Classic, WWE is proud to announce a new global initiative that will set the wrestling world on fire. We have partnered with some of the biggest wrestling companies around the world to present an inter-promotional tournament that will be shown on the WWE Network. New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ring of Honor, TNA Impact Wrestling and Lucha Underground are all on board to lend talent to the tournament which will also include wrestlers from our NXT brand along with wrestlers from our main brands, Raw and Smackdown.

20 men will be entered into a round robin format tournament where everyone will wrestle each other one time earning themselves 2 points for a win and 1 point if the match goes to a 15 minute time limit draw. Once the round robin matches are complete, the top 16 seeds will advance to a single elimination, bracket style tournament where they will face off until one man is left standing.

As of right now we are still dotting the I's and crossing the T's on contracts so we are not at liberty to announce any wrestlers that will join the tournament from the other promotions. I can however let everyone know we will have 3 members of our NXT brand that will enter the tournament and they are.

WWE.com has learned of the next three wrestlers that have signed on to join the Battle of the Best tournament.
