How do YOU handle vacating a title when a champion changes weights?

Recommended Posts

When I get an all-time great kind of champ who moves up a weight class and is certain to stay there, I like to fill the title vacancy they've created as quickly as I can. I've been doing so by stripping the title from the former champ either right before or right after they move up, but then there's this "stripped of the title" line in their history. Seems like there's probably a better way that I'm missing...

If I juggle my champs between weights (only a sensible thing to do if they really cleared the division, which is highly unlikely unless you employ an organisation of cans), I just vacate it. Sure it says they vacated, but that's not a bad thing, right? Seems only right that once you leave a division by choice you vacate the title (take notes UFC). <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Right on, thanks. Hmm, maybe I'll try having them fight for an interim title and see if it just automatically becomes the full title after the old champ fights in the new weight class 4 times. Like how it works with a fighter no longer being ranked in their former weight class...

<p>No, that won't work. You can have them fight for the interim title, which will inherit the prestige (almost sure it does). But even if he's no longer ranked he will remain the official champion until you vacate it. Honestly I don't get your reluctance. What if he suddenly retires? You'll have to vacate the title as well as in WMMA4 they will never announce their retirement up front. Try and see this "weight class change" as a retirement from the division. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I used the interim title this week for the first time on Tonie Facchine as she got injured for a very long time. I had Hope Lehane forfeit the title on her move to bantamweight but the move made sense to me as the bantamweight division is just much more competitive. I'd probably never do it otherwise as you'd be halting the growth of the company as there's one less 5* person to feature in main events.</p>

Oh dang, thanks for the info. My only reluctance is over the word "stripped" showing up in the fighter's achievement history. As in "... Stripped Of Title, 9 defenses". I wouldn't mind in the slightest if it said "Vacated Title" instead. Maybe there's a way to "vacate" as you've been mentioning and I'm missing it? I've been doing it by going to the personal assistant screen, clicking belts, then finding the applicable champ and using the strip button. I know it's kinda weird and not that big of a deal but what can I say... I'm a stickler for detail. Lol.

I wish there was a way to specify why you stripped a champion the way the game does automatically when the AI does it. If the AI strips a champion for a drug failure or leaving the company it mentions it in his achievements screen. But if the user does it, it just says he was stripped. Always wished there was a way to show why the user stripped him too, even if it is purely cosmetic.

I wish we had that option as well! <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
