Drug testing, what is your stance and policy

Recommended Posts

I'm playing as WWE and wanted to be fairly strict with it. I went in with extreme testing post each show for everything. Only problem is its giving me LOTS of incidents to deal with. I'm going with a couple of warnings, couple of fines then followed by suspension/rehab depending on whether I like them or not. Only problem is I'm getting lots of unhappy people, what do you all tend to do?

Plus what made me decide to sign Rob Van Dam when I'm running this sort of tight ship is beyond me!

I have none atm. I'm playing as WCW, and let's be honest, half the roster is on some sort of candy, but I simply cannot afford the hit to backstage rating when someone gets caught... So atm., I don't have one in place. I might do it later.

Yeah I'm thinking I've gone in heavy handed. I ideally wanted to weed out knobs like Ryback who I wanted to leave. But theres a little kliq forming amongst the Dudley boys and a few others. Both D-von and Bully Ray have problems so as soon as I fine or suspend them theres a knock on effect of a boat load of others getting annoyed at me!

Hi! I'm using RWC Aug. 2016 mod, and have WWE as well. I kept the policy on the random "handful of people" option after each show. And so far nothing too bad...except Randy Orton being a steroid user. I fined him the first time, nothing happened. Suspended him when he got caught randomly the very next week, again. But after 28 days he comes back, it so the suspension resulted in nothing though. Meaning the only way I'll get Randy off the Juice is to fire him 😭

Honestly, I'm fairly strict with it. I start off with a stern warning and then move to a fine if the same person gets popped again. I haven't fired anybody because of it yet. Kurt Angle has like 10 incidents on his log. I've suspended him twice. Batista has about 5-6 and Benoit has about 5-6 as well. I've fined those guys every time. Joey Mercury has been fined a good 3 times and suspended once in the middle of a WWE Tag Team reign. When he returned I jobbed him out as punishment.

I test for everything except soft drugs. I've no problem if you all want to get high in the locker room as long you pass the joint in my direction.

I'm using Rising Storms 1991. I'm now in 1993.

I will fine (almost) anybody if they fail a test. if it is somebody like Ric Flair then I will just keep fining him. If it is a lesser character then they might be suspended. If I have an unhappy worker, I will usually swallow my pride and let him off with it. The Patriot keeps failing steroid tests and I keep fining him, but there is never a problem that comes with it. I guess he is just happy to take the fine as long as he looks 'good'. A lot of them seem to be like that.

If somebody is caught with drugs and it becomes a news story then you're probably going to get fired. It depends how much pull you have. I will have no problem firing a random midcarder for life.

I've always made my mods to serious, I should make a save where I take over a top 10 company and just do everything illegal lol. Also have 100% risk and all that so guys get beat up and are more likely to use haha

In my SNP cVerse save I went in fairly heavy-handed early on, tested everybody and discovered maybe 20% of my roster were using something or other. I fined people for steroids and hard drugs, warned them for soft drugs.

Now, about two and a half years I'm basically at the point where I don't test anymore (it's a tiny little fed, I don't know what I was thinking anyway). If somebody turns up wasted they get fined. If they do it again they get fired. Getting rid of the dirty doctor I inherited backstage helped out a lot (unsurprisingly).

I'm sure that there are still guys on the juice and using soft drugs but at my level I think I'm as well off turning a blind eye until it becomes a direct problem for me.

I'm playing a 1987 game with a created fed.

I send people to rehab immediately for any drugs violation. I'm hoping the rehab will do at least some of them good, and hopefully they'll clean up a bit. I just sent my US Champ Mr. Perfect to rehab, this was right after I started a brand split too, so this hurt my roster depth a bit. I put the belt on Riki Choshu, he seems like a safe bet.

For steroids, I usually fine once, then if they do it again, I suspend them. I've suspended Road Warrior Animal like 5 times at this point (Road Warrior Hawk is in Rehab right now too).

So to sum it up, I'm running a very strict policy that sometimes interferes with my booking.

Rehab is a great addition for 16 that I tend to use on anyone I want to keep after they've screwed up a match once/failed 2 tests. I've not had a ton of problems in any of the mods. The one thing I found after running the Monday shows in the T-Zone RW August mod is that having an Extreme policy is extremely (pun intended) expensive. Holy hell, you're going to spend over $1 million every month with that level, and that was with pretty much the default roster size, so it only gets worse after you add the 10-20 people most are going to sign.

I decided I wanted to star using Renee Young as an announcer. So started giving her a role on my b shows to get we going. Then I started my super strict drug policy. She comes back as a pot head. So thought I'd use the rehab for the first time. 6 MONTHS!!! Bang goes her chance of making it as a big time announcer for me now!

I've send jack swagger to rehab as well as would quite like to push him quite a lot and prefer my top stars to be squeaky clean.

I test for Hard Drugs and pain killers. Weed and booze I could care less about and steroids are just a reality a person has come to terms with. I don't use 'dirty doc' due to it making the whole roster addicts. While I let a few things slide, no-one cause use backstage and suffer big time if they try to work messed up. Also my test levels are set to low.

Steroids - fine, suspend, suspend, fire.

Hard drugs - suspend, rehab, fire.

Soft drugs - no action, stern warning, fine(s).

Soft drugs I couldn't really care less about but I suppose I have to follow some sort of rule for repeat offenders. Hard drugs I don't fine for, it's not an enhancement like steroids, I just want the guy clean of them. Top guys aren't exempt either, same for everyone. My backstage rating is never below 70%.

I only ever do anything when people screw up matches or get sent home. I used to have a dirty doctor, until drug testing on a whim wound up showing 95% of my people where toking up backstage. I don't test regularly, almost not at all, unless it's a specific target for a specific reason (most of my medical budget goes to surgeries for my folks who get injured). I really don't care if people want to get high and juice up. I've got better things to worry about. That said, I don't usually push the people who repeatedly show up wasted. Not good business.

I tend to go with a three-strikes policy. First time you get a slap on the wrist or a stern warning (depending on whether it was soft or hard, my mood, and how badly it tanked the match), second time its a fine for PPAs (I rarely ever play above Cult size). If I catch you again, you're fired. If I have someone on a written, first time is warning, second time is rehab. If the rehab has a noticeable affect, when they get back, they get a clean slate (I understand kicking an addiction isn't easy, and at least they were trying to get clean). If they go to rehab and they get worse, they get fired on the next offense. If there isn't a noticeable effect, but they don't appear worse, then I will fine them and send them back to rehab.

In an update to my RWC WWE promotion:

I have random drug testing after each event, but its a nice handful of talent.

-Randy Orton has failed for Steroids twice. First time was Stern Warning, Second time 30 day suspension.

-Jay Lethal (PPA, but red hot) was caught for Weed. Slap on the Wrist. He thanked me, quit pot and told me my decision made him Very Happy.

-Ron Killings (Aka R-Truth) on the other hand, used my Slap on the wrist as an excuse to derail and it had a "negative effect on his situation" the game said. So we'll see if that means he smokes more pot, or moves on to hard drugs!

-Also poor Billie Kay got a C-6 Cervical Fracture, 1 year on the shelf, I took the risk of extremely risky surgery (b/c i thought my auto save was off and was goofing off), well karma, it made it worse, and she'll have long lasting damage down the line they said :-( right when she won the NxT title and was gaining a lot of momentum. Even worse she got hurt in a 6 min eye candy match on superstars pre show.

I keep USPW's default.

Since Novak always gets popped in the first week, I think my format will be:

Fatherly Approach/Stern Warning, Suspension, Fire

or something along those lines. Guess it might depend on who it is too.

I test a handful of workers after each show. I used to test everyone, but I've recently scaled it back. My roster is fairly clean and forcing every worker to pee in a cup after every show just sounds like an oppressive work environment. I wouldn't want to work there myself.

So far as I said, I haven't found much. I managed to save Jake Roberts from the brink. I rehired Chyna, then was forced to re-fire her. Eddie Guerrero's son kept failing steroid tests, which was just... mind boggling to me. I eventually had to let him go. He hates me.

I test my whole roster for everything sporadically and have a four strike policy.

First Strike- Stern Warning

Second Strike- Fine

Third Strike- Suspension

Fourth- Fired

I'm sometimes more lenient because I like someone, but I try to stick to that policy more often than not.
