I love very much of it and will continue to need your assistance in the creation of the universe. I will take liberties on some aspects of the story and modify them according to my vision, but your history is a great foundation for me to base the work off of! I fully appreciate the work you provided for me and will definitely hope to see more in the future. Unfortunately I am a pretty long ways off from putting the British scene into the database so we will see what should happen with that.<p> </p><p> Dcyd, that is definitely one of my main goals before an official alpha release. The Hamblin name is notorious for swindling and promoting carnivals, events, traveling circuses, etc. Their events, however, aren't considered to have the greatest of reputations, and typically preyed on communities that had hardly much else in terms of third-party entertaininment. <strong>JOHNNY KIDD</strong></p><p>

Johnny Kidd has been the face of BWA's Junior Heavyweight Title Race for the last 5 years being an impressive 4 time Junior Heavyweight champ, putting on wrestling clinics with the likes of Norman Smiley and Danny Collins. Kidd has been pin pointed as the go to guy for making future stars playing a part in nearly every one of BWA's homegrown talents rise to main event scene, being credited as an in ring inspiration to most young workers. Despite Kidd's natural in ring prowess he's never had that IT Factor most companies need in a star, may that be because management just doesn't believe in him or may it be his proneness to injury. Coming up on his 38th birthday, it seems as Kidd may never get that main event push he's desired for so long, only time will tell whats next for Johnny Kidd.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>BULK</strong></p><p>

One half of The Boomers, Bulk is an accomplished tag team wrestler alongside his partner Obelisk The Boomers have dominated the Tag Team of both the UK and Japan holding many Tag Team accolades from JPWA, IWGP and their home BWA. Bulk started in wrestling at the age of 18 working for ASW and BWF sporadically as a jobber, it wasn't until he put on a couple (I use that term loosely) of pounds he would gain a noteworthy push being touted as British Wrestling's NEXT BIG THING, until that flopped when he was exposed in a match as a horrible worker by Kashmir Singh, which started an actual backstage feud between the two still going on to this day. With Bulk out of favor with the fans there was no point in him staying in either companies, so Bulk left ASW and BWF right before the formation of BWA. Bulk returned to working independent events and continued to work as a butcher in his fathers shop for awhile until one day he received a call from Brian Dixon asking for him to the BWA as he had a plan which involved him, on May 25th 1990 Bulk debuted alongside Obelisk to form The Boomers, since then The Boomers have gone on to become a legendary tag team in the short 5 and a half years together, cementing their legacy in Wrestling.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>OBELISK</strong></p><p>

One half of The Boomers, Obelisk is an accomplished tag team wrestler alongside his partner Bulk The Boomers have dominated the Tag Team of both the UK and Japan holding many Tag Team accolades from JPWA, IWGP and their home BWA. Obelisk started out as Big Dave in early 1989 with his older but much smaller brother Little Dave forming a tag team that was cut short after a year when Little Dave had to retire due to a horrific injury, without much going for him but his size Big Dave worked a number of tours in Europe, Japan and Australia before signing with BWA in April 1990. Dave worked dark matches and would get a great reaction due to his agility and size, which was a true spectacle to see as the only other big men who worked in the UK were usually out of shape monster big men usually looking to copy the success of Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks. In May 1990 Big Dave was repackaged as Obelisk and became the second member of the now legendary tag team The Boomers alongside Bulk.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>DOC DEAN</strong></p><p>

Doc Dean is one half of The Liverpool Lads. Doc Dean is a 10 year plus vet of the industry despite his young age of 25, Dean made his debut in 1984 at the age of only 14 for the short lasting Liverpool Pro Wrestling where he met best friend and future tag team partner Robbie Brookside, forming The Liverpool Lads in 1985. The Original Liverpool Lads would go on to capture tag gold in the likes of ASW, Joint Promotions, MCW and most notably with the BWA. The Original Liverpool Lads lasted for 10 years from 1985-1995 when Robbie Brookside left BWA after being convinced to join AOW. This left Dean without a tag partner and a big problem, where was he to go next, luckily Dean decided to team with his protege Frankie Sloan to make The Liverpool Lads a thing again. Sloan has yet to really show if he's fit into the role as its been such a short time since he joined The Liverpool Lads, will Dean's choice be Gold or a dud?</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i66.tinypic.com/o2yv.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>ANDRE BAKER</strong></p><p>

Andre Baker debuted in 1981 working for the now defunct LPW (Liverpool Pro Wrestling) debuting against Alan Kilby, Baker would stay with LPW until its closure in 1985. Baker for the next 6 years would work independents to gain his reputation as a no nonsense hard hitting brawler, Baker finally got his break in 1991 when he joined Billy Robinson's MCW where he would rise the ranks and become a 3 time British Heavyweight champion becoming a local celebrity in the progress. This all changed as in 1993 after being scouted by Orig Williams, Baker joined the BWA debuting against the then Greg Gable (now Greg Crabtree) Baker would go on to win the match and would be put in a storyline as Gable's protege until the storyline was cut short in September when Max Crabtree died and so the storyline was cut so Greg could go on to win the Max Crabtree Memorial Tournament. The Next year of 1994 was uneventful for Baker as after a boring midcard run with European Title he was seen as bland and had only a handful of appearances on BWA Friday Night Fights from then on, but come 1995 Baker was back in the drivers seat debuting a new gimmick of a small worker who used his amateur wrestling skills and fists to beat his opponents, the sky's the limit for Andre Baker currently if his momentum continues he may rise to the main event scene of BWA, but only time will tell.</p>

  • 3 weeks later...

Readers, it's been about a month since you've heard from me, here's what I've been up to:

  • We are closing in on 800+ wrestlers in the database. I'm not sure where I was when first released (I believe around 350+), so talk about a huge increase in playability! This is the grunt work that always has to be done, so I am still chugging along! Not sure will be at upon the next release but I'm anticipating maybe around 1,250 workers?
  • All previously debuted active wrestlers (North American free agents) have been added to the database. This means when starting the next beta run users will be able to flesh out a longer run with a company, given there is available talent to sign and will provide for better roster rotation.
  • 50% of all yet to debut active wrestlers. I am going all the way down to talent that would start the game off at 1 years of age in order to get this task out of the way. It is definitely the biggest task of them all: literally adding all yet-to-debut active talent, creating their bios, stats, movesets, etc. That is the main reason why I haven't been on really is because it is such a long process there is nothing too glamorous about it (actually, none of this is very glamorous...)
  • After all yet to debut workers are transferred, I will add all non-wrestling talent (referees, announcers, etc.)
  • After all non-wrestling talent is transferred over, I will add critical female workers (popular wrestlers/non-wrestlers) to add some spice people probably want to play with (sorry Debbie Combs).
  • After all critical female workers are added, I will be adding critical Japanese and Mexican talent (mainly as support for companies like WSW and HCW.)

Once these final tasks are finished, I will be releasing another beta. I hope to get it done quickly so some of you on break for the holiday can enjoy it. I too will be on break and will be able to devote more time than usual to this (work has been c-c-crazy). After this beta release (call it, version 0.2)

  • My next focus will be on transferring all remaining female talent to the database (wrestler and non-wrestler).
  • TBD.

LordofGustav, I actually really like the Dead or Alive Wrestling name, not so sure about Independent Union (unless it were a Japanese based promotion.) I was always a big fan of the N64 AKI-wrestling games so something like that would be an awesome tribute!

crackerjack, what's going on my man!? Gotta get those juices flowing kid! Hit the gym (or just run outside), smoke a joint, let's go son! :D

Merry Christmas!

Hope you all had a fine Christmas holiday. I sure did, and was able to continue with A LOT of work on this. I am finished adding all debuted and yet-to-debut active wrestlers to the database for (outside of missed/future additions). I finished adding all non-wrestlers and semi-active wrestlers and am now just a few steps short of releasing another version. As mentioned above, I still have to add women and big name Japanese workers. After that, I will have to polish off some other portions of the game for increased playability and I would like to have the graphics finished for a release. Unfortunately I just bought Photoshop only yesterday and haven't really played around in it much. It's going to take awhile to brush off the cobwebs but I know I can give the next release a much needed graphics upgrade to take the experience to another level.

Look for the next beta release to come in the next few days!

<p>Okay so I have put in a lot of work on this over the break but I'm still not 100% ready for another release. I'm still inputting women (decided on doing many more women than originally) and have yet to start on the Japanese workers. I forgot I had more work to do on creating more companies within the game so that has taken some time as well.</p><p> </p><p>

So here is a preview for Wrestling Association Revolucion, our Puerto Rican promotion...</p><p> </p><p>

Wrestling Association Revolución was formed in the wake of the attempted murder of Bruiser Brody during a WWC event in Puerto Rico. Disgusted with the Colón family's attempt to keep the situation underwraps and essentially protect José González from prosecution, Victor Quiñones spearheads a lawsuit against the Carlos Colón Sr. and the World Wrestling Council. In 1989, the WWC was forced to pay fines for multiple charges, the heaviest amounting from their plays to cover up an attempted murder. The WWC closed its doors in 1990 and the scandal shook the professional wrestling industry. A year later, Bruiser Brody and Victor Quiñones announced the formation of a new wrestling organiazation, dedicated to bringing the best in wrestling to the shores of Puerto Rico. Wrestling Association Revolución was born.</div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<p><strong>Readers</strong>, been about another month since I have posted. I apologize for not having released the next beta as I promised to have a few weeks ago, but things have gotten in the way and my time spent on this has dwindled down to just a few hours a week. With that said, I want to get something released soon and would say I am about 90% on my way to having the next release ready. I am going all out with graphics now to add more interest hopefully to the project. I am standing at a little over 1,300 workers in the database currently and following the next beta release will be focusing on transferring over the next batch of workers (if missing anyone you would like to see, please say so!)</p><p> </p><p>

In the mean time, here are three screenshots of big pay-per-views that took place three months into the game by HCW, NWA, and WSW, just for everyone to get a feel for how things may look a few months into the game...</p><p> </p><p>

Since 0.10, I have grown to a database holding 1,341 workers, 23 active companies (all with complete rosters, company info, custom graphics, etc.), 83 events (all with custom graphics), and 186 narratives (all with custom graphics and details). When I calculated how long it took me to get here in terms of the number of days, I wish I could track the number of hours. I have been dedicated to the continuation of this project on-and-off depending on my schedule. The adjustments I would like to create from this point are mainly focused on two areas: (1) minor adjustments pending gameplay testing from users and (2) long-term playability for users. And the more you guys play and can provide solid feedback, the harder I will work to make this mod the best it can be. My schedule will soon be coming to a hault for a few months as I start professional wrestling school in March where between work, life, and wrestling I will be all-consumed.</div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

At this point I would consider America and Canada both completely playable until the end of the 1990's. At that point I would say the game will start getting stale (lack of yet-to-debut workers, new companies, narratives, etc.) This gives you guys a few years to play through as one of the 23 companies I have created to populate this alternate universe, or a company of your own creation as you weasel your way between the big four companies of the NWA, WSW, HCW, and the WWF. With that said: </div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">it is important you make only USA and Canada active areas upon new game creation.</span></strong></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> At this point, I have no companies in any other game world areas, as I wanted to completely focus my attention on where I believe users will play most: USA and Canada.</div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

There continue to be many more additions I would like to make heading into the 0.30 release, and those include a more fleshed out women's roster, more yet-to-debut workers, more yet-to-debut companies, more graphics, etc.</div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

At this point I encourage you to check out my release for the reasons below I see my mod as standing out from the others:</div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

- </div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Custom graphics. </strong></div></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">Hours and hours have been put into making custom graphics for all of the companies, events, television shows, narratives, and titles in the game. There is no better way to completely engulf yourself in a fictional universe than maximizing the game's potential for custom graphics.</div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<p>Nice to see the next update come out! I'll dig into this throughout the week. Maybe then I'll finally find the time to give you that roster I still owe ya <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

As for the Facebook group, I don't really use my FB for wrestling (or at all), so I'd mainly contribute here.</p>

<p>I've been playing around the USA scene in the US for a little bit, and, so far, I'm impressed! It's a very fun world to play as the bigger guys, and it looks like the ECWA and USWA were already getting pillaged after a couple weeks of simming. May play for longer with TCW just to see what happens long.</p><p> </p><p>

The biggest thing I've noticed was the lack of pre-set tag teams for the bigger companies. I put together a list of teams:</p><p> </p><p>

ECWA</p><p>

Public Enemy (Grunge & Rocco Rock)</p><p>

Bad 1 & 2</p><p> </p><p>

HCW</p><p>

Harlem Heat (Book needs a gimmick too)</p><p>

The Nasty Boys</p><p>

The Rottens</p><p>

PG-13</p><p>

New Jack & Mustafa</p><p> </p><p>

NWA</p><p>

The Bushwhackers</p><p>

Demott/Nero Team</p><p> </p><p>

USWA:</p><p>

Tugboat/Earthquake</p><p>

Von Erichs?</p><p>

Harris/Bruise brothers</p><p>

Headhunters</p><p>

Rock and Roll Express</p><p>

Terry Funk/Dory Funk Jr.</p><p> </p><p>

WSW</p><p>

Christian/Sean Venus (Young Canucks)</p><p>

Jacques Rougeau/Carl Oullett</p><p>

Storm/Joe E. Legend</p><p>

Can-Am Express</p><p>

The Steiners</p><p>

The Road Warriors</p><p> </p><p>

WWF</p><p>

Eddie/Chavo</p><p>

Gedo/Jado</p><p>

The Hadryz</p><p>

Headbangers</p><p> </p><p>

Don't know if they're not in the game for the purpose of balancing roster, but I figured write down anything noticable.</p><p> </p><p>

The only other thing I've noticed was USWA lacking a TV deal. I've always thought of the Memphis area of being a TV-first territory in the 90s, so to see they're lacking a deal with a broadcaster in the southeast seems a bit strange.</p><p> </p><p>

Other than the stuff listed above, the mod is solid so far. Not a lot of weird stuff from the AI or anything.</p>

It's just my opinion of course.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> The Dudley Boys were very crude and risque when they first formed, hence I wanted them to have their own gimmick versus simply being classed as obnoxious or the putz gimmick.</p>
