I have a long running SWF '77 game and one thing I always do is give every new worker a name and gimmick exclusive to SWF. This got me wondering if anyone else has any habits or traditions they keep while playing.

I have a long running SWF '77 game and one thing I always do is give every new worker a name and gimmick exclusive to SWF. This got me wondering if anyone else has any habits or traditions they keep while playing.

Well, this doesn't really count, but I once thought about starting an entirely new Promotion in a real world mod and call it World of Anamalistic Wrestling (WAW). Signing any talent I could (eventually want to sign good talents from WWE, NJPW, etc.), and re-branding them all with mask (in my mind outfits as well) based off of Animals. So for example PJ Black would play a heel Bunny named Bunny Black, he'd smoke cigars, drink, gamble, etc.

-Batista would be Beartista, a bear like figure with mask and some wrist and shin pads with hair on them (kinda like Giant Gonzales' crappy suit, but just some of the hair)

-Ricochet would be signed as Puma Prince

-Rhyno would be Rhino lol

and I'd add all sorts of wrestlers, but they would all get animal names and mask, It would be a darker, edgier promotion though with [dark] comical elements.

<p>Traditions in my real games. </p><p> </p><p>

I general I always try to sign Jushin Thunder Liger and Ultimo Dragon. </p><p> </p><p>

Specifically in my WWF 87 games. </p><p> </p><p>

Vader gets an undefeated run. Goes under the radar beating midcarders and below for a year, maybe ends the year with the WWF US title. Then in 88 post mania he will pick up the pace and start smashing the uppercard guys. Leading too a match with Hogan at WM for the title.Sometimes Vader will get the win, put Hogan out or a while before his glorious return and come back. Other times Hogan will be Hogan and beat the Monster Vader. </p><p> </p><p>

Taker is signed in 87 and most of the time will face Bruno Sammartino for his first streak victim, putting Bruno and his career in a casket. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I sign Liger and Ultimo Dragon( when he debuts) and have them team up as Ultimo Liger until I create my Lightweight/Junior division.</p><p> </p><p>

In that save I have always created a US title to be true midcard title whilst the IC remains a bridge to the Main event. IC is mostly for the future Main eventers, US title I can have fun with and have virtually anyone hold it. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I always have a X-division/Junior/Cruiserweight Hybrid title called the X-Fighters title, although sometimes ill wait untill 1990 to create the division.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I always create a WWF v NJPW ppv</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I always create a Team Team KOTR (Tag Team Classic)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

On The C-verse I'm usually always CZCW and I always try to sign former talent back, or guys I signed on previous games. Snap Dragon, Acid, Insane Machine, Masked Cougar, Remmy Sky, James Prudence, Marc Speed, Sammy Bach etc</p>

I don't know if it qualifies, but I have a pretty standard storyline I run for giving a singles push to a member of a tag team. I'll build up tension between the partners through angles, until the lesser partner turns on the partner I plan on pushing. Then they'll have a short feud with the lesser forming a stable or tag team and harassing their former partner. After that, the pushed partner will get the win to build up momentum, and the other partner will go back to the tag division once more.

<p>I often have a tendency to have a lot of stables and put a lot of work into the tag division all the time. I also have a weird habit of having short reigns for my Light Heavyweight title in AWA (Pillman is 7x champion but loses the belt pretty much a week later but he has had long runs too) But I <strong>always</strong> do long reigns for world champions. </p><p> </p><p>

I also have a weird habit of doing a lot of invasion story lines, for example I currently have a heel stable known as the Puerto Rican connection led by Carlos Cólon and contains Savio Vega and Ray Gonzalez. Having them interfering matches as a way to 'declare war' on the USA. Soon having them feuding with The Diamond Studd who will just play like a Hogan role in this story line as he is my top face so it will look good that his fighting for the USA. Increasing the members of the PRC aswell soon.<img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Lastly I have a weird habit of doing <strong>ALOT</strong> of movie parody skits with the Hollywood Blonds <em>-Brian Pillman & Hollywood Holly </em><strong>(Bob Holly)</strong>- I have them parody big movies from the mid to late 80s and now that I'm in 1991 with my AWA save will make them parody 90s movies soon, the skits often do really well and I find it fun to imagine what it would be like irl with them doing that lol, used to always use the movie parody skits with Dude Love & Norman Smiley.</p>

Always use the same pre-written structure I already have for the notepad since....well, many years ago, in which I will add things to.

For example their are pre-formated entries for future pushes, future depushes, finances, numbers of workers I had when joining company, number of workers I have now, etc. All I have to do if changing game or company is copying the already written format and adding or updating the info as it comes along. It is obviously done as soon as game begins.

Always shortlist a lot of workers i either wanna sign or get informed about throughout the game run. In real world mods this will include for example shortlisting all of TNA or ROH before advancing the first day.

Always prepare the storylines before booking any show or advancing any day.

Always customize every single aspect of the game before advancing any day. Like drug policies, merchandising, finances, who sells your hot dogs if needed, etc. :D Even if it can wait it will be done in day one.

Always begin negotiations with some workers I know I will wanna sign asap, even if not using as soon as they sign. The list always ends up being big and all negotiation are initiated....before any day is advanced.

There are more and I could go an all day, but you can now imagine the amount of stuff I do before actually advancing into the second day. :D

Thanks to nL, a good handful of my saves have Andrew Everett and Jervis Cottonbelly on my company's roster in some way. They're usually in developmental, since they don't have the best skills.

Outside of nL-related guys, workers I usually scoop up include the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, CM Punk, Adam Cole, Marty Scurll, Chris Hero and Kurt Angle. I think the next guy to follow this line of reoccurring hires is Zack Sabre Jr.. In terms of non-wrestlers, I usually hire Jim Ross (90% of the time as WWE).

My notepad, for the most part, has almost always been for setting up the match card for the next big event and booking up to it, sometimes booking two to three events further. Sometimes these cards are subject to change.

I also like to import a lot of angles, gimmicks, match types and locations just to have a very lively amount to work with.

Another, much more rare, habit is unretiring some guys, like Shawn Michaels or Daniel Bryan, or making semi-retired guys like Brock Lesnar or The Rock work on a full-time schedule.

When I play as a company who is Cult or above and has too many or all workers on PPA i get them all on Written deals. This once led me to enter a bidding war with WWE for all of my talent because all deals default to three years.Whoopsie <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Will give them an undefeated streak for a year, regardless of style.</p><p> </p><p> Have had a dojo for three years and no one has graduated. And Skull DeBones runs the place.</p>

<p>I tend to keep starting rosters intact other than releasing negative backstage influences on day one. In my NYCW game that means holding onto Steve Flash, Honest Frank, Old School Principals, and Man Mountain Cahill until they retire. They may be old, declining in skill, and overpaid, but I feel like if I got rid of them it wouldn't feel like NYCW anymore.</p><p> </p><p>

I always heavily feature my tag team division. To the point that more than half of my roster will be a part of an active tag team. Eventually my top teams end up as main event push. I end up having to job them out to my top guys in singles matches until they go back to upper-midcard.</p>

Like New Day, Hart Foundation, Steiner Brothers and so on... To me it just sounds better with "The" in front of them <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I'm the exact opposite, hate all the "The"s in the game. I remove them from both tag and worker names. </p><p> </p><p> I always rename my World/Heavyweight/Main Event title to <promotion name> Championship. Then I try to remove all the unnecessary stuff from all the other titles (for example, the aforementioned World and Undisputed). I much rather have a WWE Championship up for grabs than a WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Obviously, there's some cases where this is not going to work, like in first brand split era WWE, simply cannot remove the "World" from the Raw tag titles due to two tag titles and the same goes for the other Main Event title.</p><p> </p><p> I always have a steady main eventer who never wins a World title during me having the book. The kind of solid hand I can throw in a weekly TV show main event and have them come up with a good rating every time. </p><p> </p><p> I absolutely hate hot-shotting titles around. I try to avoid it at all costs (but not so that it would affect storylines). In the same category is having Wrestler A win a belt, drop it to Wrestler B, only to win it back a short time later. I guess you could call it long-term/patient hot-shotting or whatever. Hate it. It messes up all the beautiful title lineage I've been building <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> I never have a monster as a Main Event champion. In fact, monsters rarely get any titles if I'm booking. This is simply because if I make a monster a champion, he's not really a monster anymore when he has to lose the belt. After losing a championship, they'd have to have a rematch and since hot-shotting is a no-no, the monster would lose again. So no monster as ME champ.</p><p> </p><p> Like I wrote above, every champion gets a rematch clause once losing the title. They might get a second rematch as well, but never a third until the new champion has lost the belt.</p><p> </p><p> I always build/expand a tag division, but I don't have any main eventers in the division and my tag titles are without exception midcard level. My goal is to build some young teams who can become multiple time champs, one or two veteran teams that can bleed skill onto the others and then create some random ones from singles workers who I have no plans for/who get no regular air-time.</p><p> </p><p> A tournament title is a must for me. Whether it's a singles/tag/trios tourney, Beat the Clock, battle royal or some kind of special no#1 contendership type of thing, I have to have at least one tourny title (often two, sometimes 3, I've had 4 before as well).</p><p> </p><p> I try to steer away from extremely short and extremely long reigns. I prefer having a champion go at least 6 months with a title before dropping it, but rarely over a year. If I recall correctly, my longest championship reign was 20 months in TEW2013. </p><p> </p><p> Unless they started the game as a champion, I never have a champ lose the title without defending it first at least once.</p><p> </p><p> I never vacate a title unless the champ is injured for 3+ months and can't compete in the ring. Also, I never award a title. </p><p> </p><p> That's all I could come up with from the top of my head..</p>

<p>No matter what or how many times I've played, I will go through every company and look at their storylines and note who is involved. </p><p> </p><p>

No idea why. I never follow through with it and never track people leaving them. I <em>think</em> I was going to use it to poach workers after leaving a storyline for overness testing but I don't remember.</p><p> </p><p>

...I still do it, though.</p>
