Prologue | March | Week 1 | 1987 |

 

By March 1987 the wrestling world was beginning to look like something we had never seen before. For decades wrestling was treated like a sport or like a touring circus nothing really more that but that changed when Vince McMahon Jr entered the business. He left the National Wrestling Alliance and began his push to go national. He bought as many promotions as he could and made a lot of money, stars and enemies from it. There was no doubt that at this time the World Wrestling Federation and the NWA were at a

COLD WAR

.

 

"HE DECLARED WAR WHEN HE LEFT THE ALLIANCE..."

 

 

 

But Vince wasn't the only one to leave, shortly after the American Wrestling Association left as well and began to put more doubt in NWA loyalist minds as to whether or not the NWA could succeed. The head-base for the NWA was Jim Crockett Promotions led by Jim Crockett Jr who at the time was the President of the NWA. Crockett saw the writing on the wall and it looked like they were on the road to lose the

COLD WAR

so as a last ditched attempt he pushed James J Dillon as the head-booker of JCP.

As expected this did not go down well for the previous head-booker Dusty Rhodes. Dusty began to politic and plan to get his own position back, hell not just that. Dusty wanted the whole company to himself. Unlucky for the NWA Dusty wasn't the only one scheming and planning, as you will see many men and women made the push for the lead job in the wrestling world. How could the company win the

COLD WAR

when it was at war with itself??

<p>I don't usually pay attention to dynasties, but my 1987 JCP game is one of the most fun, and definitely most interesting, TEW games I've ever played, so I'll be following this to see how someone else handles JCP.</p><p> </p><p>

Will you be providing updates on the world outside of JCP? One of the most interesting things about this mod(to me, anyways), is watching the wrestling industry in the US collapse.</p>

Very entertaining,comical team, but under rated tagteam, for the time period(no punt intended) had a very good gimmick, being from the year 2002, and loved how they were claiming that Dusty Rhodes would be the president in the year 2000.</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

I actually think JCP would beat WWF [and Hogan] 9 times out of 10 in a simulated environment -- Vince was able to prevent/bully PPV companies from airing JCP events in real life, but he doesn't have those powers in TEW 2016.</p>

Heels do get runs at the top, at least in the NWA.</p><p> </p><p> I've gotten to January 89 with this company and this mod and can confirm it's actually not possible to beat WWF in a simulated environment. I get better show ratings and comparable TV and PPV numbers, but the combined star powers of Hogan, Andre, and Roddy Piper are insurmountable, leading to JCP consistently losing national battles.</p>
