Justin
Could somebody show me an example of how you're using these programs to help? I'm kind of retarded.
cappyboy
Considering I play small, I don't typically do much with third party programs. But the one I use most for the game is The Guide. I'll do my end of year evaluations in there. I used it for plotting out my storylines in the Cappy Pack. Pre-planning shows when the in-game notepad gets too congested. If I'm using anything outside the game while playing TEW, it's probably The Guide.

I also use it outside of TEW to keep my Christmas shopping straight. Personal budgeting. I use it for organizing fantasy football information. It's pretty much my primary notepad program whenever I'm on the computer. It isn't terribly fancy or flashy but my computer life would be much poorer if I didn't have it.

And in the event you don't know about it, here's the link.

http://theguide.sourceforge.net/

You are so welcome. Glad I could help. Funny thing is it was here on Grey Dog in somebody else's post that I learned of The Guide as well. One of the many benefits I've gotten from being a part of the Grey Dog community over the years,

TheOtherJamesCameron
I literally just use google spread sheets to plan out my PPVs and Storylines. Usually super simple PPV matches and outcomes/turns/anything fancy I wat to happen, with space in case I want to make sure I do something during the build-up. The way that will work is I'll do is jot down my thoughts on my guys for 2016 on the top page. And then subsequent years will be child pages. This way I can keep track of people's progress long term and not be burdened by the fact the game's info screen only retains 12 months at a time.

You can use it like the multi-sectioned notepads some past versions of the game has had. But on steroids. Maintaining one page for storyline ideas. A second for who is which alignment and when. Another to track movements on and off the shortlist. And where you'd have had to stop there with the in game versions, you could have other pages for charting tag team combos you've tried, potential stable ideas or whatever other organization ideas you had.

When I was doing the Cappy Pack, I'd have a page for basic outlines of my stories, another for breaking down what angles might need to be created from scratch and a third for casting those angles (all the Catalyst, Subject, Surprise type stuff).

That's where being such a simple program comes in so handy. That simplicity makes it incredibly versatile and means the only limits of how it can help is what you and your planning style put on it.
