“Good evening ladies and gentlemen, from the Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio, alongside me Jerry ‘the King’ Lawler, I’m Jim Ross, this is Monday Night RAW and after a turbulent twenty four hours, boy, do we have a show for you this evening.”

“I still can’t believe what happened last night JR. I’m still in shock!”

“That damn McMahon screwed Bret Hart out of the championship at Survivor Series, right in his hometown.”

“Oh come on, Shawn Michaels won that title fair and square JR, I saw Bret tap right in front of us.”

“Bret didn’t tap, what are you, crazy?! Earl Hebner conspired with Vince McMahon to make Michaels the champion, I saw it with my own damn eyes.”

“That’s not what I saw!”

Vince McMahon walks down to the ring, smugly grinning to himself, before picking up a microphone as deafening boos echo around the arena.

“SHUT UP!” Vince yells, as the booing gets louder.

“Let’s address the Elephant in the room… there was a title change that some might say… wasn’t ethical… AUSTIN SHOULD NEVER HAVE WON THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP!”

The crowd drowns out McMahon’s monologue with abuse and booing.

“LET ME FINISH, DAMMIT!” Vince shouts, the veins on his neck bulging.

“Austin wasn’t medically cleared by WWF doctors to wrestle with his neck injury, and as such, I’m left with no choice but to declare the Intercontinental title vacant as of right now.”

“Oh what in God’s name, McMahon’s screwed Austin aswell!”

“HOWEVER… SHUT UP!… However, since I’m a fair man, Austin will get a chance to win the title tonight in a fair contest, right here on RAW against Owen Hart. To make sure that the match is… fair… we’ll need a special referee to officiate. Someone well respected, a great referee with dignity and honour. I can think of no-one better than our very own… Earl Hebner… and as we don’t want any ‘outside interference’, we’ll be holding it in a steel cage.”

“It’s a total screwjob King! I can’t believe this, how the hell is Austin meant to win?! Not medically cleared, then why for the love of God is he letting Austin wrestle tonight?!”

“Earl Hebner is one of the greatest referees in WWF history, JR, what’s your problem? Hey, it’s dangerous to wrestle with a neck injury, you can’t blame McMahon for being cautious.”

“Oh give me a break…”

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Vader defeated Goldust in 11:49 by pinfall with a Power Bomb.

In a poor match, Nation Of Domination (Faarooq, D’Lo Brown and Kama Mustafa) defeated Disciples of Apocalypse (8-Ball, Chainz and Skull) in 7:39 when 8-Ball got disqualified after going into a rage and refusing to stop assaulting Kama Mustafa. During the match we also had Kama Mustafa turn on Faarooq.

After the match has ended, The Rock charges down to the ring. The crowd cheers excitedly, but the cheers soon change to boos as The Rock joins in the beatdown. All 3 stand in the middle of the ring and do the Nation salute.

“I can’t believe this JR! Why are the Nation turning on Faarooq?!”

“I don’t know King, but you can never trust anyone in this business, believe me”

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn’t have much heat, Marc Mero defeated Steve Blackman in 7:47 by pinfall with a Shooting Star Press after Sable interfered.

Backstage, Earl Hebner is face down in the locker room as Degeneration-X are trying to revive him by slapping him gently in the face. Triple H gives up, looks angry and storms out as Michaels continues to try and stir Hebner.

“Oh, there goes our ‘Special referee’ King. If you step into the Rattlesnake’s nest, you’re gonna get bitten.”

"That's all well and good, but now we don't have a referee!"

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, New Age Outlaws defeated Legion Of Doom in 13:57 when Road Dogg defeated Road Warrior Animal by pinfall with a Piledriver following a low blow on Animal from Chyna. New Age Outlaws make defence number 1 of their WWF World Tag Team titles.

As Austin grabs the belt from the timekeepers area, slings it over his shoulder and begins to storm back down the entrance ramp, he is met by the other members of DX, including new members Road Dogg and Billy Gunn. An all out brawl occurs.

After they’re all laid out on the floor, Austin stands in the middle of the devastation, raising his arm to the sky with the belt in his hand.

Thanks mate I will do. I think it's the default one for the MA mod so I just used it, might be wrong and have changed it myself at some point though!

The Undertaker pic is incorrect, that's from 1999 so you may wanna change it

to the 1997-98 Undertaker

That WWF Belt wasn't introdcued until-after WM 14 so it's still the Winged Eagle belt.

While I'm an obvious mark for WWF Attitude Era dynasties, I really like what you've done here already. We have two active Montreal Aftermath diaries going and they're already very different, which is great! I also like some of the subtle differences, like straight up adding the Outlaws to DX and starting the Nation feud with Faarooq.

Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback, that's very kind of you to say. It's my first ever attempt at writing anything like this, but I wanted an excuse to actually keep a long-term game going as usually I don't get past a few months!

"But Rocky, why did you turn on Faarooq? Well, The Rock says this, Faarooq outstayed his welcome as the leader of the Nation, and it's time for a new, younger, fitter, greater leader. "It's Bart Gunn! Bart Gunn, who was tag team champions with Billy Gunn on 3 separate occasions! These guys hate each other now!"

Bart Gunn motions a finger across his throat and points at Billy Gunn.

"They look like a regular Goon Squad, JR! I wouldn't cross either of these two tough guys!"

For most of the match, the Goon Squad look strong and it appears that the belts are going to be changing hands. However, Billy Gunn hits a Fameasser out of nowhere on Bart Gunn, with Road Dogg battling Bob Holly outside the ring. The New Age Outlaws retain the titles.

Backstage in a dark, damp boiler room, Mankind is rocking back and forth in a corner, occasionally screeching and punching himself in the head.

"As much as I wouldn't want to face Kane, that gargantuan demon, I don't think I'd want to step into the ring with someone as deranged as Mankind either, JR!"

"You and me both, these two guys have no problems with inflicting serious amounts of damage on their opponents"

The Rock hobbles down to the ring, still looking confident as ever despite being clearly injured.

"Are you sure The Rock has what it takes to face Faarooq right now, providing he even accepts the challenge?!"

"Not whatsoever, I don't know what's going through The Rock's head right now"

"So Faarooq, The Rock's out here waiting for your candy ass to step out here and face him mano a mano. Tonight The Rock will prove that he doesn't need the Nation's help to destroy an old has-been."

"Oh come on, Rocky's being so disrespectful to one of the greats of wrestling history."

Faarooq strides powerfully and purposefully towards the ring, where The Rock is waiting, arms outstretched in a taunting posture, shouting abuse at him.

The two men exchange blows frantically, Faarooq looking like he has the upper hand.

Eventually, after much humiliation, The Rock has enough and grabs a chair from the Timekeeper's area, before levelling Faarooq right between the eyes. Rocky isn't done there though, and continues to destroy Faarooq with the chair, threatening anyone who attempts to stop the carnage as he does so.

"Oh God, the beatdown isn't stopping, someone do something! Rocky couldn't beat Faarooq cleanly so he got himself disqualified on purpose!"

"Faarooq's looking in a really bad way JR... That chair has literally broken on Faarooq's head!"

The Rock eventually ends his assault on Faarooq, spitting on him before leaving him bent and broken in the middle of the ring. Paramedics urgently attend to Faarooq and stretcher him down the ramp on oxygen. The Rock walks away backwards, smiling at the carnage he's caused.

Stone Cold Steve Austin is shown laying in a hospital bed to a massive pop from the crowd. Several doctors and nurses are trying to restrain him as he attempts to escape, shouting about how he's going to kill McMahon.

"Ahmed Johnson just destroyed Triple H! What a monster! That's got to hurt the former champion's pride!"

In a bout that had great wrestling and good heat, Kane defeated Mankind in 18:29 by pinfall with a Tombstone Piledriver. During the match, Kane also Choke-slammed Mankind through the announce table.

A blinding bolt of lightning strikes the entranceway.
