comments: I'm a fan of both but Dragon Lee is definitely on the up and up.

comments: I love me some Cavernario. I enjoyed having him in my BOSJ, even though his match grades were nowt special.

comments: Even though the babyface team is stacked, it feels right to let LIJ take this one. Naito can pin Liger.

These shows are pretty hard to book - the logistics are tough as I had to edit some CMLL contracts and traded a ton of guys and tens of thousands in cash to CMLL to get the group of luchadores. I feel like these are much more realistic cards than the ones I booked in my old journal, as I realized a few things about the real world Fantastica Mania tour. For starters, in the four years they've had it, NO ONE from Bullet Club has ever been on this show! They basically book the same group of 14-16 CMLL guys and 14-16 NJPW guys, and they don't use Makabe, Honma, Ishii, Shibata, or the Third Gen guys (they probably wouldn't work well with the luchadores). Anyway, I love reading your predictions, and I'm consistently seeing you guys with better ideas than me haha! I post the cards after I book them, just so I don't let the predictions influence my booking. Full cards for Fantastica Mania nights 3 & 4! by Dean - 1/18/17

 

The cards for nights 3 and 4 of the Fantastica Mania tour have been released, and, as in years past, the final three nights feature some special matches, CMLL championship bouts, and the annual Black Cat Memorial six man tag team match.

 

Night 3 will feature a special tag match pitting Hiroshi Tanahashi and Atlantis against Kazuchika Okada and Último Guerrero, as well as a CMLL World Welterweight Title match between the champion, Mephisto, and Stuka Jr.

 

Night 4 will see the annual Black Cat Memorial match in the main event, as the dream team of Hiroshi Tanahashi, Caristico and Jushin Thunder Liger will face the CHAOS combo of Kazuchika Okada and Hirooki Goto with Último Guerrero. In addition, there will be a Mexican National Light Heavyweight Title match between the legends Atlantis and Virus, a NWA World Historic Welterweight Title match between Volador Jr. and Ryusuke Taguchi, and a Special Lucha Rules Two out of Three Falls match between rivals Dragon Lee and Kamaitachi! The full card for the fifth and final night of the tour will be posted soon, and is sure to feature even more special contests, including a NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Title match!

The final three nights of this tour have historically featured some CMLL title matches and a few more "special" contests, so I am trying to emulate that here. Kamaitachi vs. Dragon Lee seems obligatory, and TEW has a special Lucha Libre match that is 2/3 falls, so I figured that would be a cool one to book. I'm going to go with another CMLL title match and a NEVER 6-man match on the final night, but I think posting 2 cards at a time is more than enough for prediction purposes and I haven't run Night 5 yet. Nights 3 and 4 of the Fantastica Mania tour saw some CMLL title matches as well as two amazing main events. It seems that Los Ingobernables are getting back on track, as they won all four of their matches on these two nights. EVIL picked up victories over Jushin Thunder Liger and Juice Robinson, while Kamaitachi defeated Dragon Lee and SANADA used his Skull End to score another submission win for the group.

For example, the final night's main event of all the real Fantastica Mania tours has been a special singles or title match between two top luchadores, which will be no higher than a C at absolute best in this game. So there's no way I'm going to try that.

 

I am trying to balance between booking good matches and following what NJPW really does, which is always a challenge on these shows. I enjoy keeping the booking as realistic as possible and I don't really veer off into fantasy booking territory. Nevertheless, the results can be really disappointing - Dragon Lee vs. Kamaitachi, for example. Not sure how a match that is amazing in real life can be so bad in the game, especially since my product judges performance > popularity. :mad:

However, Ángel is only 78 kg, while Lee is 75 kg, so I think they are in the same weight class [interestingly enough, CMLL seems to ignore the weight limits they set, as Dragon Lee's title is supposed to have a max weight of 70 kg, even though Lee was 75 kg when he won. Interestingly enough, Tommy Williams was 84 kg when he won the title, so they have no friggin clue.
