The term life support systems used here frequently was an apt description. ... The direction the company was going in was one that had been failing for years. I'm not saying the Hogan direction will in the long-run be successful, but for those complaining that the company is sacrificing its future by going to the past, they are forgetting the company had no present and no future except as a money-bleeding organization before Hogan came along. With the amount of money the campaign invested in him, they can't afford to not build everything around him. It may not work, but it was a car that had to be played because it was the only game Eric Bischoff could take that had a chance of turning things around and to do that, they couldn't hold back on Hogan one bit. Now the company at least has a present, and it's because of Hogan."

This looks a very interesting tourney:

1-2-3 Kid vs. Marcus Bagwell

Chris Benoit vs. Mil Mascaras

The Great Sasuke vs. Robbie Brookside

Psicosis vs.Rey Mysterio

Eddie Guerrero vs. Sabu

(although I love Sabu)

The Saint vs. Dean Malenko

Eddie v Malenko instant classic there for me

Hayabusa vs. Doug Williams

Koji Kanemoto vs. Christopher Daniels

2) Who will be in the final four? Benoit, Sasuke, Guerrero, Daniels

3) Which of the opening matches will score the highest rating? 123 kid vs buff, but wouldn't be surprised if Eddie and Sabu tear the house down

1-2-3 Kid vs. Marcus Bagwell

Kid has to be an early favorite to take the tournament here. Bagwell is a backstage menace who likely is in a tag team.

Chris Benoit vs. Mil Mascaras

[Redacted] takes the win because Mil Mascaras is just... to old and [Redacted] is over enough to beat him.

The Great Sasuke vs. Robbie Brookside

Sasuke is good and over enough to make the final four.

Psicosis vs. Rey Mysterio

Rey-Rey could easily win this whole thing. Psycosis just doesn't have the appeal to win here.

Eddie Guerrero vs. Sabu

Sabu makes sense -- more likely to be the heel in this matchup. Really, either guy is a great choice, but The Original Shiek's nephew has more storyline opportunities. Plus, Eddie has been done before.

The Saint vs. Dean Malenko

I have to think The Saint is an early favorite -- Malenko is good, but he's... well, mildly entertaining on the mic.

Hayabusa vs. Doug Williams

Can we just say Williams is here for the internet TNA smarks and get on with it? Williams clearly got in the tournament because TNA, and for him, sadly they don't exist for 10 years.

Koji Kanemoto vs. Christopher Daniels

Koji is far better-er than Daniels. Daniels still relatively new at this point, here more because of real-world accomplishments and not his own.

1) Who will win the tournament? Sabu

2) Who will be in the final four? Rey Mysterio, Sabu, Koji Kanemoto and 1-2-3 Kid.

3) Which of the opening matches will score the highest rating? Guerrero/Sabu
