RAW - March Week 3 - 85

Vince and JR welcome us to RAW - but however note this week Jeff Jarrett is planning to debut his new song - With My Baby Tonight - and The Roadie is in the ring performing a microphone check. Finally Jarrett and Van Hammer enter the ring. Jarrett claims the record won't be on sale until after WrestleMania as he wants to be holding the Intercontinental Championship on the record cover. The first few opening bars hit... when...

Razor Ramon storms to the ring - He hits a huge clothethine to Van Hammer - before hurling The Roadie to the outside - Jarrett quickly scarpers from the ring - and the three men retreat up the ramp - as Ramon poses in the ring with the Intercontinental Championship. (100)

Next up is Alundra Blayze is challening Bull Nakano in a Womens title rematch - a clip is shown from last week's superstars where Blayze is complaining to President Gorilla Monsoon - she states Nakano and Eddie Gilbert made a mockery of the title at In Your House and demands a rematch. Monsoon acquiesces - and here we are.

Blayze comes out hot and hits Nakano with an initial flurry of missile dropkicks - it's not long however before Gilbert makes his way from the back. Gilbert immediately starts interfering by distracting Blayze and the referee. This eventually leads to Blayze leaving the match to confront Gilbert - and Nakano following suit. The referee then throws the match out as a no contest (79)

Gilbert and Nakano look extremely smug about this - which brings out Gorilla Monsoon - who says he's disgusted by Eddie Gilbert's actions and says at WrestleMania - Bull Nakano will defend her title against Alundra Blayze with Eddie Gilbert banned from ringside. (68)

Next up is the Main Event; A WrestleMania tune up match for some of the men with big featured bouts at the Big Event.

Owen Hart, Bam Bam Bigelow and Diesel (w. Shawn Michaels) v 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper, Tatanka and Razor Ramon

The match starts with Owen in action against Razor Ramon - but Owen is clearly reluctant to be in a physical bout this close to his showdown with Bret. And immediately tags out after a couple of hip tosses from Razor. He tags in Diesel - but Shawn on the outside gets up on the apron. Shawn tells Diesel to tag out. Shawn instucts Diesel to save himself for Piper. Michaels clearly looking for Diesel to weaken Piper before their showdown at WrestleMania.

The match then breaks into standard 6 man tag - with plenty of pier 6 brawling - the finish of the match arrives after a ref bump. With Razor, Piper, Bam Bam and Owen on the outside incapacitated. Diesel and Michaels lay a 2 on 1 beating on Tatanka. Diesel then holds Tatanka for the superkick - when to the surprise of no one - Michaels misses and superkicks Diesel (76). Diesel is knocked back but not out - he then confronts Michaels - and the two break into a shoving match. Diesel then kicks Michaels in the stomach - and lifts him into the Jackknife position - to a huge pop - until Bam Bam attacks Diesel from behind. This brings out Jarrett, Roadie and Hammer to attack - Razor - the referee then throws the contest out as a wave of lower card wrestlers storm the ring to restore order. (100)

After the match The Steiners call out Williams & Gordy - and challenge them to a match at WrestleMania - they respond with a showing match.

WCW also held WCW Uncensored '95 this month - but it was completely overshadowed by Wrestlemania XI - Although there are some major talking points. - Anyways here's the results;

Jim Duggan & Sting Def. The Sullivan Brothers (71)

'The Booty Man' Ed Leslie Def. Ric Flair to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship(79)

Ron Simmons Def. Dustin Rhodes to retain the US Championship (66)

Harlem Heat Def. Stars'N'Stripes to retain the WCW Tag Championship (59)

Craig Pittman & Rip Rogers Def. Joey Maggs & Frank Andersson (41)

Steve Keirn Def. Terry Taylor by DQ to retain the WCW TV Title (50)

Kevin von Erich Def. The Gambler (48)

Pretty Wonderful Def. Bobby Walker & Tex Slazenger (47)

Chicky Starr Def. Konnan (65)

Erik Watts, Jerry Sags & Johnny B.Badd Def. El Profe, Frankie Starr & Big Bad John (52)

Erm, where to start? This company looks ready to implode under it's own politics - Ed Leslie defeating Ric Flair? Hulk Hogan's buddy may be the least over champion of all time. But I wonder if Flair refused to job to Hogan - or Hogan wanted Flair to job to his buddy - so Leslie can job to Hogan?

Anyway a career midcarder with a mid card gimmick is world champion.

Furthermore Sting and Duggan main evented - as presumably WCW were too embarrassed to put the title switch on last.

The rest of the card was alright - with a bonus surprisingly hot match between Konnan and Chicky Starr - Konnan is having consistently good matches in WCW - and it's a sin he's jobing in meaningless undercard matches.

WCW World Heavyweight Championship / WCW US Championship / WCW Television Championship / WCW Tag Team Championship

RAW - Week 1 April 1995 - 82

RAW opens with new graphics and Vince, JR and King running down the major talking points from last nights huge WrestleMania - shilling the replay - and the WrestleMania Revenge tour going on right now. - But tonight a huge match with Owen Hart challenging Razor Ramon for the WWF Intercontinental Championship

First out is 123 Kid to a huge ovation - after retaining the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship in a huge 4 man match - he's facing Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart in a non title match. Neidhart is unable to utilize his size advantage - with 123 Kid cutting him down with kicks - Kid picks up the win with a moonsault. (71)

uw5miTj.jpg

A snobbish man - talks down WWF and WWF fans - and talks about how they lack class and civility - Hunter Hearst Helmsley is coming next week (67).

Back to raw and Diamond Dallas Page is in action next - Vince talks about how Page is motivated to make an impact in 1995, while Lawler makes lewd comments about Kimberley. IRS is out next. - the match is quick with DDP picking up the win with a cutter. (71)

t3lE3OE.jpgWtRId0N.jpg3HVhWQr.jpg

Vince talks about last night with Razor defeating Jeff Jarrett and Owen losing out to his brother Bret in a match of the year contender. - Owen as challenger is out first - he grabs a microphone - he says now that he's done with Bret Hart - he's gonna show Bret how to be a better and true champion by winning the WWF Tag Titles, the WWF World Heavyeright Championship, but starting here tonight by defeating Razor Ramon for the WWF Intercontinental Championship.

Razor Ramon comes out clearly still banged up after his encounter last night with Jeff Jarrett, Van Hammer and The Roadie. - but he still starts with an opening shine - hitting clotheslines and clubbing blows - before hitting his fallaway slam - before Owen retreats from the ring.

Owen however takes control - with an eyerake and slows the match down - before hitting a massive German Suplex - Owen attempts to lock in the Sharpshooter - but Ramon powers out - hits another fallaway slam - and signals for the Razors Edge - but Owen struggles leading to a referee being knocked down - when a man from the outside gets on the apron and hits a springboard clotheslines on Razor Ramon - and puts Owen on top of Ramon. - The referee rises and 1-2-3. Owen Hart wins his first gold in the WWF.

DOGRFhS.jpg

Vince questions what just happened - and Jim Ross identifies the man as Brian Pillman - a man who wrestled in Canada for Stu Hart - Owen's close personal friend. - the two men celebrate in the ring - before Owen hold up the Title and then wraps it around his waist. (82)

Brian Pillman gets on the microphone and explains that he's here in the WWF to make an impact along side his good friend Owen Hart - Owen says the he and Pillman have just put the WWF on notice (100)

Superstars results

Bob Holly Def. Timothy Well (56)

Lisa Moretti Def. Tori Powers (73)

Hunter Hearst Helmsley Def. Ricky Morton (56)

WCW held Spring Stampede this month; -

'The Booty Man' Ed Leslie Def. 'Stunning' Steve Austin to retain the WCW World Heavyweight Championship (82)

Stars 'n' Stripes Def. Sgt. Craig Pittman and Rip Rogers (54)

Ron Simmons Def. Bobby Eaton to retain the WCW United States Championship (70)

Steve Keirn Def. Konnan to retain the WCW Television Championship (63)

Hulk Hogan Def. Frank Andersson (83)

Harlem Heat Def. Koko B. Ware and Tony Atlas to retain the WCW World Tag Team Championship (63)

Arn Anderson Def. The Gambler (59)

Tex Slazenger Def. Frankie Lancaster (37)

Terry Taylor and Bobby Walker Def. Lt. James Earl Wright and Luther Biggs (35)

Paul Roma Def. Joey Maggs (49)

The usual WCW Pay-per-view but without Flair or Sting. - So a worse than usual one - thankfully saved by a surprisingly good Austin/Leslie match. - The Booty Man actually is surprisingly getting some decent response from the crowd - and Austin star continued to rise.

Nothing else stood out aside from Hogan squashing a Swedish Bodybuiler on the Undercard. - No title changes at this event

RAW - May Week 1 - 77

RAW opens with a highlights package showing clips of Summerslam 1992 - finishing with the British Bulldog pinning Bret Hart to a huge ovation at Wembley Stadium.

The video package closes ends and the live action commences with Gorilla Monsoon in the ring with a microphone. Monsoon says he has two huge announcements - one is that tonight The Natural Disasters, The Smoking Gunns, The Miracle Violence Connection and The Headshrinkers will face each other in a number one contenders match for the WWF Tag Team Championship.

And the second announcement...? The WWF will return to the UK - at the end of the month for the first event since Summerslam 92.

For the first time ever In Your House will be live from Wembley Arena - and that's not all - there we will crown a NEW WWF EUROPEAN CHAMPION. - And the History doesn't end there - WWF RAW will also air from the UK for the first time ever the week before and after In Your House. Monsoon says the all-European entrants will be announced shortly.

The New WWF European Championship

Back to tonight and the four tag teams enter the ring. The commentators mention The Gunns defeat last night at In Your House. - Vince highlights the tension shown between Billy and Bart - where as JR suggests they shouldn't be in the match - Lawler concurs saying Jarrett and the Roadie have been robbed.

The match is a hoss battle with Williams and Gordy mostly dominating - but the finish comes with when Williams, Gordy, Fatu and Samu all spill to the outside and Billy hits a flash rocker dropper on Typhoon for the victory.

Billy and Bart embrace in the ring and celebrate their title shot. The good times are back for the Gunns. (71)

Number One Contenders

Next up Jacqueline Def. Bison Kimura in a Womens Division match (60)

Next in action is Razor Ramon against Brian Pillman - but as Razor makes his way down to the ring he's blindsided by Owen Hart and Brian Pillman - who beat down the former WWF Intercontinental Champion.

A new alliance of Vega and Ramon

.....Until Savio Vega makes the save - and runs off Owen and Pillman. - When we're back from commercial - Vega and Ramon explains that they go way back and are former friends from Florida and Puerto Rico. (84)

Owen and Pillman then come back out - it's now a tag match.

The match is an even sided contest with Vega showing good fire - to make up his lack of big match experience - hitting Owen and Pillman with huge 'Carribean Kicks' Superkicks.

The finish comes via countout as Owen and Pillman want no part of the two Latinos on an even contest - and head back up the aisle. (80)

Superstars

Aldo Montoya Def. Mike Sharpe (35)

Leilani Kai and Luna Vachon Def. Lisa Moretti and Tori Powers (70)
