Title Bout Wrestling. Sunday, Week 1. March.

 

 

The last few weeks, Jack DeColt has not only defended the CGC World Championship, but also-bless his heart- tried to open every show on the microphone as is tradition here in CCG. The sold-out Waterloo University in Ontario pop like so many others as the undefeated Jack DeColt marches out from behind the curtain to start the show.

 

 

The Champion gets to the ring and grabs a microphone, ready to deliver the signature DeColt phrases every little boy in Canada can recite like the national anthem when Dan DaLay swaggers out.

 

Dan DaLay:

“Quiet, Jack. Save your breath for later because that title is coming home with me once again. I beat your little brother last week. I retired your brother Alex and now I’m taking the one thing that you have left, so hold it close because in the Main Event it all comes down.”

 

Having said his piece, DaLay quickly leaves as Jack takes in the threat before rattling off the catchphrases, however a little less enthusiastically than before.

 

Davis Ditterditch: “David Newton has spent many months re-hauling his diet and exercise regime in order to fit into Cruiserweight size restrictions, let’s see if it paid off!”

David Newton vs White Angel. Cruiserweight Exhibition.

 

Another exciting match goes back and forth between Arm Drags and Dropkicks that result in a standoff. Newton controls with technical proficiency while White Angel targets joints and extremities with needle-sharp kicks but just as Angel goes for the Shinanju Kick, Newton ducks and hooks the leg. STF! Angel struggles for the ropes and in spite of his honour has to tap to the Triple Threat.

Backstage, Jenny Playmate holds up a pair of boxing pads that Ian Identity hits with authority. He’s worked up a sweat and grunts between heavy blows. Jenny still looks concerned about her client though.

 

Jenny Playmate:

“Look, Ian, you saw what happened to Zeus last week. I’m still worried about this match with Sayeed. I took you under my wing way back when because I saw potential in you but I don’t want to march that potential into a massacre at the Wrestlefestival. You’ve worked too hard.”

 

Ian continues to hit the targets as he speaks. Between the Championship around his waist, baggy athletic shorts and brow of sweat he looks more and more like a boxing Champion every week.

 

Ian Identity:

“You’re worrying too much, Jen. Zeus had the Dirty White Boys on his mind last week, I’m laser-focused. I eat, I sleep, I train and I think about kicking Sayeed Ali’s ass and defending my Canadian Championship.”

 

Ian stops for a moment to catch a breather, and lowers his guard long enough for Jenny to playfully hit Ian in the face with one of the pads. Jenny raises her eyebrows and leaves, while Ian touches his face where the pad hit, considering how quickly one punch could end his Championship dream.

Joey Poison sits backstage, eyes closed and legs crossed. It looks like he’s meditating quite peacefully until Thrill Seeker skips into the locker-room and plonks himself next to the Charismatic One before laying an arm over Joey’s shoulder like that one touchy-feely friend that everyone has and secretly hates.

 

Thrill Seeker:

“Hey there, little buddy. I know what I said about you boinking Faith really got under your skin, I mean first of all, it couldn’t be any less true could it?”

 

Poison glares at Seeker, silently burning a baleful glare into the Dynamic Sensation.

 

Thrill Seeker:

“Yeahhh, we both know you couldn’t get a girl like that in a million years, you should give me her number. I’ll show her what a man looks like while you go out and get turned into paste by Gargantuan.”

 

Poison bolts up, ready to fight Seeker, who quickly backs away with his hands raised in a placating manner as he edges towards the door.

 

Thrill Seeker:

“Whoa there, buddy. Calm down, you got other things to worry about. A seven-foot meathead chief among them. Don’t worry, I’ll look after your little girlfriend when you’re being scraped off the canvas”

Davis Ditterditch: “Ian Identity was fired up earlier tonight and looks to send a message to Sayeed Ali by taking out fellow heavyweight brawler Brett Fraser.”

Ian Identity vs Brett Fraser.

 

The Huntsman quickly uses his size to out-muscle the much smaller Canadian Champion but Identity has his incredible in-ring wit to even the odds. He dodges a Corner Splash and battles back with a series of quick punches. Jab, jab, left hook! Right hook! Fraser swings and misses! Huge Uppercut! Fraser is stunned and is hoisted up for a huge Falcon Arrow Suplex. Identity pulls back his hair and points his fingers like a gun toward the downed Fraser. He takes a run and…Identity Crisis! (Knee Trembler) 1…2…3

 

Ian Identity wins in 8:02 with the Identity Crisis.

Back in the ring, the Machiavellian Trio of Blockbuster, Phillipe LaGrenier and Thrill Seeker enter and all take microphones. They make an odd set of allies, but are clearly united in purpose. Thrill Seeker is the first to speak:

 

Thrill Seeker:

“Let me tell you a secret, boys and girls that are watching at home: if you want to be a wrestler, stay clear of anything to do with CGC. Because this cesspool is filled with nothing but a parade of selfish jackasses and shameless nepotism and it’s time that changed. Now, my friends and I are going to do something about that, won’t we boys? Alex DeColt. Get your pensioner ass out here, we have something to say.”

 

After a few moments that were punctuated by a “Screw you, Seeker” chant, Alex DeColt emerges with a microphone at the top of the ramp, looking impatient.

Alex DeColt:

“What is it now, Lee? Did you get cut-off in traffic this morning? Did the barista put almond milk in your skinny macchiato this morning instead of soy? What horrible conspiracy have you concocted that puts my family at the centre of all of your problems?”

 

Seeker is about to snap back at Alex, pointing and gesticulating wildly when Phillipe LaGrenier pipes up, his signature kimono exposing bushels of thick chest hair and his unnatural orange skin.

 

Phillipe LaGrenier:

“Non, non, non, Monsieur DeColt, zat is not why we are here today. You see, Monsieur, ze Jacque DeColt nearly crippled moi, ze returning hero to CGC in my first match back and you did nothing of ze sort to penalise ze Champion all because he is your Frere, non?”

 

Blockbuster muscles past the Quebecois Sex Pest and snarls at Alex on the ramp.

 

Blockbuster:

“Alex, you gave Ian Identity a title shot when he was an undeserving challenger and then you didn’t even have the grace to let me prepare for the match. Why? Because little Ian is another one of your DeColt disciples and you give every opportunity to everyone that fits into your little clique. The system is rigged against us, and we demand action!”

 

Alex sighs and touches his fingertips to his forehead, clearly frustrated. After a moment, he speaks again, calmly as ever.

 

Alex DeColt:

“Blockbuster, Ian Identity had pinned you twice when he earned his match, once in the first episode of the year and again at Elimination when he did exactly that: Eliminate you. He’s resilient, versatile and makes a great Champion, and he beat you fair and square for the title he now holds so proudly. And Phillipe? You targeted a Champion that was not medically cleared to fight by goading him about his ex-wife and you STILL got your ass kicked by him. You can’t blame me or my management for any of this.”

 

Thrill Seeker:

“Well, that’s what you say Alex, but we’ll see what our lawyers have to say about it. If they can find suitable grounds for your removal based on your shameless nepotism, then you’ll be out of here as General Manager and we will finally get the opportunities that myself and my friends so rightly deserve!”

 

Alex is stunned to anger, and Thrill Seeker has never looked more smug as his minions applaud his underhandedness.

 

Davis Ditterditch: “Joey Poison shocked the world at Luck of the Draw by defeating Gargantuan in a No-Disqualification match. Can he do it again? Thrill Seeker doesn’t seem to think so when he gave Joey some ‘moral support’ earlier this evening”

Joey Poison vs Gargantuan.

 

Faith accompanies Poison to the ring and after a close kiss to the cheek to her client, Poison launches into Gargantuan with impressive hit and run tactics. Springboard Elbows and Forearms rock the beast but do nothing to bring him down and it’s only a matter of time before a Crossbody is caught and Joey is mercilessly driven over the monster’s knee. Once, twice, a third time and a big Fallaway Slam sends the Colourful One cascading out of the ring.

 

Poison lands just feet away from his manager whose face is aghast with horror, but Poison grimaces and climbs back into the ring, holding his lower back undeterred. A repeat of the previous events happens again, another three brutal backbreakers force screams out of the much smaller Poison and a huge Powerslam flattens him. 1…2…Kick Out!

 

Joey retreats to the corner but is met by a huge Splash and its obvious from the look on Joey’s face that he’s dead on his feet. Gargantuan lifts up Poison onto his shoulder and charges towards the corner for a Snake-Eyes…No! Joey wriggles free and sends the Monster head first into the ring-post. Fired up, Joey hits a sequence of strikes, Slap, Elbow, Forearm, Spinning Backfist, Enziguri! The beast is stunned and falls to one knee, Joey climbs the top rope and lets out a desperation Missile Dropkick. He connects and forces the Beast into a seated position in the corner.

 

Joey sees his chance, returning to the top rope it looks like he’s setting up for the Coast to Coast that beat Gargantuan at Luck of the Draw when Thrill Seeker sprints to ringside. He climbs onto the apron and applauds Joey, giving him false encouragement and just as the referee is dealing with Faith’s protests, the Dynamic Superstar pushes Poison off the top rope. Joey lands hard on his injured back and it is just a few moments before Gargantuan picks the prone star up. The demon of CGC hoists the wide eyed Joey over his head like a bag of trash and drives him over his knee! Ultimate Backbreaker! (Gorilla Press Backbreaker) Gargantuan covers his broken opponent. 1…2…3

 

Gargantuan wins in 10:57 with the Ultimate Backbreaker.

 

Victorious, Gargantuan takes no time to head to the back while the man formerly known as Lee Rivera feigns condescending concern over the broken body of Joey Poison, while Faith looks pale with worry over her man.

 

Davis Ditterditch: “We’ve got medical personnel looking over Joey Poison backstage, folks. For now, Antonio Del Veccio looks to continue his winning ways against Drake young next!”

Drake Young vs Antonio Del Veccio.

 

‘Comedy Gold’ Drake Young offers a hand to Del Veccio but gets it twisted into a brutal Hammerlock by the Italian Hitman. Del Veccio hits a big Back Suplex that lands Drake on his twisted arm, before grounding the young Comedian with brutal knees straight to the chest. No laughter here from Del Veccio, he hits an impressive Exploder Suplex that sends Drake through the air before once again wrenching the arm behind Drake’s back.

 

He lifts the smaller man up in a Suplex position and…BAM. New Italian DDT. (Hammerlocked Cradle DDT) Drake’s head hits the canvas with sickening force, and the referee counts the pinfall.

 

Antonio Del Veccio wins in 5:46 with the New Italian DDT.

 

Jack DeColt is taping up his fists backstage, with the CGC World Title on a chair next to him, he throws a few practise jabs and winces as his arm extends for the punch: a consequence of his defence against Joey Poison some weeks ago. Ricky DeColt walks in.

Ricky DeColt:

“Hey man, how are you feeling tonight?”

 

Jack rolls his various joints in their sockets and does a few squats as he talks to his brother.

 

Jack DeColt:

“Good as can be, Rick. Gonna be a tough one tonight with DaLay, but nothing I’ve not beaten before, you know?”

Ricky’s lip curls a little, he seems to be asking ‘what’s that supposed to mean?’

 

Ricky DeColt:

“No, Jack. How are you really? I swear sometimes you forget that I’m your brother, I know you’re not 100% right now. It could be just as easily be in that ring with you tonight, then where would you be?”

 

Jack DeColt:

“I’d defend my title, Ricky. Against you, against DaLay, against Poison, against Rivera and any other challenger. It doesn’t matter who I go up against because I’m the best CGC has to offer.”

 

Ricky scoffs, his little brother instincts seem to be taking over.

 

Ricky DeColt:

“No Jack, if it was me, then I’d be walking away the three-time Champion. Thrill Seeker is right about one thing, you’re slowing down, bro. I just need one opportunity and that title is mine.”

 

Jack DeColt:

“Well, you had an opportunity and you lost, Ricky. Now I need to finish getting ready, but thanks for stopping by.”

 

Jack picks up the belt and leaves the locker-room, that final statement clearly stung Ricky, who covers his face with his hands, clearly stressed.

Christian Price vs Ryan Powell.

 

Ryan Powell can’t believe his snivelling luck in getting a chance to compete for the World Championship but quickly changes his tune when Christian Price hits a running European Uppercut that bowls Powell clean from the ring. The Shooting Star is totally stunned, but not for long as he gets wiped out by a momentous Suicide Dive from Price. The Stud rolls Price back into the ring but is delayed by a poke to the eye.

 

Powell flails his arms and takes the self-proclaimed Iron Man down, frantically stomping like a man possessed until the referee threatens disqualification. Powell hits a DDT! 1…2… Legdrop! 1…2…Knee Drop! 1…Kick Out! Powell is frustrated, and hits another frantic barrage of stomps like a child having a tantrum, he invites Price to get up and he takes aim for the Star Treatment (Superkick). Price catches the leg! He pulls Powell close and…German Suplex! Powell fumbles into the corner and is victim to another thunderous European Uppercut. Price Check! (Double Underhook DDT) 1…2…3! Price is up next for a title opportunity!

 

Christian Price wins in 9:25 with the Price Check.

Dan DaLay vs Jack DeColt. CGC World Championship.

 

Once again, Dan DaLay looks almost bored at the prospect of wrestling Jack DeColt again and it’s apparent by the way he shoves and throws the Champion around that the Kingpin has incredible levels of disdain for Jack. The Giant hits a huge Lariat and Elbow-Drop that drive all the air out of Jack’s chest. 1…2…Kick Out!

 

DaLay bounces off the rope and hits his patented Big Boot on the Champion, before mounting his prone opponent and clobbering him with Forearms to the back of the head. The Kingpin crushes Jack with a Bodyslam, Powerslam and Samoan Drop combination that has Jack clutching his ribs badly. DaLay hoists Jack up for the DaLay Down (Tombstone Piledriver) when Jack wriggles free off his shoulder. Jack seizes the head beneath his armpit and tugs back savagely. Dragon Sleeper! DaLay is in trouble! He falls to one knee, and then to the canvas before Jack gives one more intense wrench back before the Giant passes out.

 

Jack DeColt retains in 14:03 with a Dragon Sleeper.

 

In what is becoming a familiar site, Jack DeColt is clutching his battered ribs as the CGC title is passed to him. He runs his hands through his sweat slicked blonde hair and sighs. He survived his oldest foe in Dan DaLay, but the horizon features the Ultra-Physical Iron-Man Christian Price fighting next week.

 

Adrian Garcia: “He can’t keep this up much longer, just look at him. It’ll only take one mistake for him to lose everything. It’s just a shame Dan DaLay wasn’t the one to do it. With the Stud Christian Price next in line, Jack is going to need some serious R&R to stand even a fighting chance next week”

 

Davis Ditterditch: “While I hate to agree with you, you might be right. Jack is on his last legs here and his former student Christian Price has never looked better. Who will walk into the Wrestlefestival Champion? Find out next week on Title Bout Wrestling!”

So first of all: why the Jabrone family?</p><p>

Well.</p><p>

I've spent a lot of time reading a lot of diaries and every time you see "Bob Casey vs..." or "Brendan Idol vs..." the immediate reaction is to roll your eyes and bet against the jobber.</p><p>

So I thought it was a funny in-joke to remove the middle man and literally refer to jobbers as the "Jabrone" family.</p><p>

Initially, it was just going to be Shirley Jabrone played by a dozen different people, (Ted Brady, Bob Casey, Brendan Idol, K-Squared etc:) with the joke being that the physique and complexion of Shirley would change week-to-week to the oblivious commentators confusion. </p><p> </p><p>

Maybe that's just me that finds it a little funny...</p><p>

Either way, it gives unskilled workers a chance for TV and improvement and designated fall guys for everyone else. So far there are 4 in the current game at the point I'm booked at in the game. (Nearly at In the Company of Legends)</p><p> </p><p>

Week 4 into the Jack DeColt carousel of challengers sees the Champion start the show. Donte rolls the larger man back into the ring. 1…2...Ali kicks out. Donte presses the advantage with more strikes and looks to hit his Sunny Daze (Leaping Flatliner) but Ali catches him and slams him hard into the mat. Calculating strikes pick the explosive youngster apart and a barrage of sniper-accurate body shots wind Donte and score Ali a two count. </p><p> </p><p>

Hailey Hunter at ringside gets the crowd clapping for Donte and the Barbadian erupts with more incredible Clotheslines. 1 hit! 2 Hits! Michinoku Driver! Elbow Drop! 1…2…Kick Out! Donte stalks Ali ready for the Sunny Daze but Ali pulls the referee in front of himself. Dunn stops in his tracks. Bullhammer Elbow from Ali! Donte crumples to the mat. 1…2…3! A few tense seconds later, Ian Identity sprints to ringside and into the ring, but Ali hits the GBH Driver on Donte a moment too soon for Identity to make the save. Crushing impact! Ali rolls out the ring with haste and taunts Identity from the ramp, as the Canadian Champion attends to the unconscious Donte Dunn. Ali is in his head.</p><p> </p><p>

A barrage of stomps and elbow drops follow that nearly crush Ricky through the mat until a miss-placed Elbow Drop gives Ricky some separation. </p><p>

Ricky counter attacks with a sequence of kicks to the thigh, arms and knees before a Spinning Heel Kick rocks the Monster. A Missile Dropkick sends Gargantuan clean from the ring but the follow up Suicide Dive is caught by the unrelenting Monster. Gargantuan takes Ricky and slams him into the barricade once, twice, into the ring post and finally an incredibly brutal Fallaway Slam sends Ricky crashing up the ramp.</p><p> </p><p>

The referee starts the count with Ricky lifeless at ringside, he reaches 9 when Ricky only just makes his way in. Frustrated but undeterred, Gargantuan tears the Turnbuckle cover off and exposes the metal ring underneath, to the horror of the helpless referee. Mounting Ricky on his shoulder, he gets ready to charge his signature Snake Eyes…No! Ricky counters! He shoves the Beast into the exposed ring, head first Gargantuan is stunned. Ricky rolls him up! 1…2…3! Ricky gets it!</p><p>

A quick handshake before the match marks the respect the two men hold for one another, and the instant fists that are traded show a different kind of respect as well. Price soon backs Jack into a corner and goes wild with close Body Shots until Jack counters with 10 Mounted Punches of his own in the corner, Price counters again however and turns the predicament into a devastating Sit-Out Powerbomb. 1…2…Kick Out!</p><p> </p><p>

From there, Price works over Jacks head and neck with a variety of tense holds that force the Champion to exert energy through gritted teeth until he breaks free with a few Elbows to the challenger’s ribs. Jack goes for more separation with a signature DeColt Trio, Throat Thrust, Palm Thrust, European Upper…No! Price counters and fires back with his own Trio. Throat Thrust, Palm Thrust and European Uppercut combo! And another, another, another, another and another. Alternating between left and right, the Iron Man rocks Jack with incredibly stiff European Uppercuts until the Champion is stood like a puppet with loose strings. Price looks to end it with a huge German Suplex. Perfect bridge! 1…2…Kick Out! </p><p> </p><p>

Jack rolls out the ring to catch a moments recovery but is quickly followed up by Christian Price’s unstoppable Suicide Dive the impact of which leaves both men sprawled on the concrete floor. The Iron Man is the first to recover his senses and rolls Jack back into the ring, he takes Jack’s legs and starts swinging. 1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…9…10..11…12…13…14…15 rotations! Price doesn’t stop there and rolls Jack onto his belly with a Boston Crab. Tightly locked in, the submission takes its toll until Jack scrambles to the ropes to break the hold. </p><p> </p><p>

Frustrated, Christian places the lifeless and exhausted body of the Champion on the top turnbuckle and he signals to the crowd for the end, to a mixed reaction. Christian climbs the ropes, hooks Jack’s arm and…SUPERPLEX! Both men crash to the mat hard, but before Christian Price can capitalise, Jack hooks his challengers legs. Surprise Small Package! 1…2…3!</p><p>

Head Referee Francis Long passes Jack the title and raises his arm, and the beating the DeColt took is plainly written over his face. On the other hand, Christian Price looks understandably frustrated, he holds his face with his taped hands and slams his hands against the canvas. He was so close. </p><p> </p><p>

Distracted, he doesn’t notice Jack walks over to him and to his surprise, his former mentor picks him up from the canvas and raises his hand. The two soak in the ovation from the crowd before Price brings in his old teacher for a quick embrace, before rolling out of the ring to allow the Champion his moment.</p><p> </p><p>

The Iron Man wasn’t able to take the title from Jack DeColt, but next week the Prodigal Son Ricky DeColt finally gets his opportunity. Could Jack DeColt’s little brother be the one to finally take away the title?</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Hey all, I hit a creative slump on this project a while ago (A mixture of real life, too much writing and what felt like a relative lack of interest in the content) and it's taken a long time to get back into it again. </p><p> </p><p>

Jack DeColt’s signature music blares through the packed arena in Quebec but it isn’t the Champion that walks through the curtain: it’s his brother Ricky DeColt. Marching to the ring with purpose, Ricky has a small case in his hand while a concerned Heather B follows him to the ring, keeping her distance. Ricky takes a mic and enters the ring, and reveals what is in his hand. A DVD.

 

Ricky DeColt:

“Do you see what I have in my hands, ladies and gentlemen?”

 

Ricky tears the plastic from the box and opens the DVD case, waving it as he talks.

 

“It’s the ’10 Greatest Matches in CGC History’ DVD, new to the CGC website, it’s our latest DVD and let me tell you what sort of matches you can find on there…”

 

He reads the back of the box in an irate manner, Heather B looks on with a look of nervous sadness.

A rematch from a few weeks ago sees Ryan Powell’s attack be even more frenzied and desperate than normal, and all Ian Identity can do is weather the storm until Powell makes a mistake. Diablo Duvak, David Newton and Harry Allen vs Mario De Silva, Mimic and White Angel.

“Flying Devil”, “Triple Threat” and “Cowboy” vs “Capoeira King”, “Prince of Seattle” an “Honourable”

 

Having learned their lesson from last week, the Machiavellian trio of heel Cruiserweights looks to isolate Duvak quickly early on. Flashy springboards from Mimic, painful submission holds from De Silva and stinging kicks from the White Angel batter the exciting cruiserweight until he manages to tag in Harry Allen.

 

The Cowboy bursts into the match with Lariats in turn on every member of the enemy team, before going for his Cattle Driver (Headlock Driver) but De Silva delivers a devastating Chop Block that sends the Cowboy screaming into the mat. More punishment follows for Allen as every member of the team takes their time to stomp on and attempt submissions on Allen’s badly damaged knee.

 

A desperation Hot-Tag to Newton allows Allen out of the ring, but hands on the rope from Mimic are missed by the oblivious referee and Newton’s Springboard goes badly wrong and he lands hard on the arm. White Angel delivers a Superkick to the elbow of the downed Star as Mimic takes Duvak out on the outside with a Unironic Suicide Dive before De Silva wraps Newton up in a morbid Kimura Lock. Newton has no choice but to tap.

In a pre-recorded segment, Dermott Ayers and Marc Raisin look rather out of place in a shady bar somewhere in Montreal. They get their drinks from the barman just as a huge musclebound bodybuilder bumps past them both, causing a little flutter of drink to be spilled. Raisin is about to complain, when Dermott persuades him not to with the shake of his head.

 

Dermott Ayers:

“It ain’t been a good year for us, Cuz. But I gotsa plan. Y’sees, thems bigger guys, they gotsan advantage over us little guys. So we gotsa even the odds, and we gotsa do that with our brains.”

 

Marc looks unconvinced, but takes a sip of his drink and answers his brother-in-arms.

 

Marc Raisin:

“So what’s the big plan, cousin? Why are we here in this shady dump?”

 

Dermott Ayers:

“Cuz, it’s time we calls in a favour. We gonna hire us a Hitman”

 

Marc Raisin:

“A Hitman, Dermott? Seriously...”

 

Dermott Ayers:

“Yeah, Marc. A Hitman. Uncle Vito knows a guy who knows a guy that’s friends with a cousin of mine whose business partner is a pilot who met a guy from Montreal and he’s little big Johnny from Detroit’s personal hitman.”

 

Marc looks utterly lost. It’s hard to blame him. Dermott gives the barman a nod and downs the remainder of his drink before following the barman with the perplexed Raisin behind him.

 

They disappear behind the oak door of a smokey room, a single figure in a pinstripe suit is seen with a cigar in hand as the door closes.

Dirty White Boys vs Soldiers Of Fortune.

 

The White Boys are out with something to prove and the veteran Tag-Team of the old Soldiers of Fortune are brutalised with stiff Headbutts, Bodyslams, Elbow Drops and before eventually Grease Hogg lifts his partner into the air and lands a devastating Assisted Leg Drop on Destiny. The Referee counts the pinfall, and the Dirty White Boys demonstrate a strong case for their contendership in the very near future.

Brett Fraser does his best to use his bulk and aggressive power to beat down Poison but Joey has more than enough agility, technical skill and knowledge to make a fool of the Huntsman. Joey ducks a Clothesline and goes for a massive Springboard Crossbody, but Fraser catches him like he were a child but Joey wriggles free from the attempted Body Slam and hits a massive Enziguri to the back of Frasers head. He follows up with a Fameasser before locking Fraser in the Antidote Web. (La Magistral Cradle) 1…2…3!

Backstage, bubbly blonde Jenny Playmate is interviewing Champion Jack DeColt. In his signature yellow trunks, Jack has the CGC World Championship polished to a mirror sheen around his muscled waist. Christ, he looks majestic.

 

Jenny Playmate:

“Jack DeColt, you are moments away from a hotly anticipated title match with your younger brother Ricky DeColt. How will you adapt your strategy to face your fired up younger brother?”

 

Jack DeColt:

“It won’t, basically. Ricky is a phenomenal athlete and a great wrestler, but he’s not the CGC World Champion. Come Thanksgiving, the DeColt brother will be around the table as our father George DeColt carves the turkey, but tonight Ricky is competition and he will not be walking away with this.”

 

Jack unbuckles the belt and raises it high, before leaving Jenny and walking towards the ring.

After the appropriate announcements, Jack meets Ricky in the middle of the ring for a quick handshake. Ricky looks momentarily unconvinced, but takes Jacks hand for a quick handshake and the contest begins.

 

A collar-and-elbow tie-up sees Jack take the early advantage with his power but Ricky twists out into a Hammerlock before wrestling Jack into the canvas. He makes the switch to a Side Headlock as Jack attempts to Suplex Ricky off him, but the grip is too tight and Ricky flips the Champion over once more onto the canvas. After a brief struggle, Jack escapes with a Headscissor but not before Ricky kips out of the hold faster than Jack can return to his feet. The two have a stand-off in the ring when booing from the crowd can be heard.

 

 

Its Thrill Seeker and Gargantuan marching to ringside, Jack is ready to fight and Ricky is furious. The two heels climb on the ring-apron and attack the DeColt brothers, causing the disqualification, Ricky and Jack battle back, sending the villains from the ring as the brother stand tall. Jack takes a microphone and insists the disrupting heels come back to the ring for a tag match, and they accept, its on now.

Jack and Ricky DeColt vs Thrill Seeker and Gargantuan

“The Franchise” and “The Survivor” vs “The Dynamic” and “The Monster”

 

Jack starts this one off against Thrill Seeker and controls the explosive star with good old fashioned chain wrestling, he wrenches the arm and tags in Ricky for a signature DeColt double team, but Seeker frantically wriggles free. Still furious, Ricky chases after the Seeker of Thrills and a swing from Gargantuan levels the manic DeColt.

 

Thrill Seeker takes advantage with a cocky sequence of kicks to Ricky’s chest and joints before the Monster is tagged in. A sequence of Body Slams and Strikes punish the youngest DeColt until he is desperate for the tag. Gargantuan tags back out and it gives Ricky time enough to recover, but he doesn’t go for the tag, instead electing to batter Seeker after a Thesz Press again and again. Seeker retreats to the corner where he is followed quickly by a Shining Wizard from the former challenger. A DeColt Trio follows from Ricky, Thigh Kick, Knee Strike, Roundhouse Kick combination! Seeker is stunned, and Ricky is ready to hit the DeColt 45 when Jack hits a blind tag to get back into the match.

 

Frustrated, Ricky argues with Jack on his way out and it gives Seeker enough time to hit a huge Enziguri to the Champion, knocking Jack to one knee. A Missile Dropkick follows, as does a barrage of stomps to the Champion. Gargantuan is tagged back in and another clubbing beatdown takes place. Jack is lifted on Gargantuan’s shoulder and lawn-darted into Seekers outstretched foot. A Bearhug follows, and all the breath is squeezed from Jack’s lungs.

 

A savage headbutt causes separation, and Jack leaps for the tag….but Ricky hops off the apron. The hell? Disappointed, distressed and limping from the ring, Ricky leaves his brother hanging in the ring. Seeker takes advantage by Springboarding in with a huge Knee Strike to the head, before Gargantuan hits the Ultimate Backbreaker. 1…2…3! Jack DeColt just got pinned for the first time in 2016.

 

Gargantuan and Thrill Seeker win in 14:28 with an Ultimate Backbreaker.

 

 

Davis Ditterditch: “What the hell was that? Ricky just left his brother to the wolves!”

Adrian Garcia: “Can’t you understand? That was supposed to be his opportunity, I’d be annoyed too if that were me. Jack’s going to have plenty to say about that next week at the Wrestlefestival, I’m sure.”

Sheepish Heather B precedes her hero’s arrival a few moments before a motivated and purposeful Ricky DeColt marches to ringside and up the stairs with the DVD he had in hand last week. He meets Jack in the middle of the ring and throws the case at his brother in a dismissive manner and snatches a microphone as his brother waits incredulous in the middle of the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

Back in the ring, comic relief Skip Beau and Drake Young are ready to take on their old rivals, the hapless Montreal Mafia. Like a well oiled machine, Ayers takes Drake apart with various submission holds while Raisin tags in to hit the poor comedian with various double team moves. It isn’t until Drake catches Raisin’s foot, he launches the foot into Ayers with comic precision for an impromptu Enziguri.</p><p> </p><p>

Drake tags out to Skip and the young Powerhouse goes manic on both tiny Mafiamen. Lariat! Lariat! Big Boot! Atomic Drop! Even Body Slamming Ayers on his prone partner. However one second too many of Skip’s playing to the crowd costs him badly as Ayers nearly tears Skip’s knee out with a savage Chop Block. A quick tag makes Ayers the legal man once more and he bends the damaged knee back in a heavy Boston Crab, Skip fights and fights the obvious agony and the referee must forcibly prevent Drake from entering the match illegally to break the hold. </p><p> </p><p>

Taking the opportunity, Raisin leaps from the top rope and lands a precision Leg Drop to the back of Skip’s head.</p><p>

Upon returning to the action, referee Johnathon Taylor calls the match. Skip must have passed out from the pain. </p><p> </p><p>

The Brazilian wraps Reynaud’s arm around the rope and tugs it savagely, causing the young kid to scream until the hold is forcibly broken. Da Silva tries it again on another rope to even greater success and a sterner warning from the official. Pushing his luck, Da Silva mounts Devyn’s arm through the turnbuckle pad, up to the elbow. Struggling against the tight predicament, Mario goes to the other corner and shushes the crowd. The Ottawa Rams Stadium goes quiet as Da Silva runs full pelt and Dropkicks the trapped elbow straight into the turnbuckle ring with bone crushing effect.</p><p> </p><p>

He goes for another, but somehow Devyn pulls his arm free and rolls to the tag. Allen is in! The Cowboy goes nuts with Leg Lariats leading to an incredible vertical Drop Kick that knocks Da Silva into his partner and off the apron. Allen lines it up and…Cowboy Cutter! (Diamond Cutter) The veteran tags the suffering Reynaud back in and he manages a weak splash despite the heinously damaged limb. 1…2...3!</p><p> </p><p>

Sleazy Clown Whippy offers a rose to Faith at ringside, but it quickly kicked out of his hand by Joey who unleashes a combination of Puro/Lucha/Martial Arts strikes that stagger the Clown. Joey goes for Sliced Bread #2 but Whippy launches Poison clean out of the ring and he lands awfully hard on the concrete floor. </p><p> </p><p>

Whippy capitalises by brutalising Joey around the ringside area while taking every opportunity to scare poor children at ringside. Poison is rolled back in the ring and Whippy springboards in for the pinfall but meets the soles of Joey’s boots to the mouth instead. Joey kips up and takes his chance with a gunshot loud Backfist to the Clown, followed by the signature slap of an Enziguri. Joey hooks Whippy up and…Brainbuster! He ties the Clown up in the Antidote Web (La Magistral Cradle) and Francis Long counts the pinfall.</p><p> </p><p>

Main Event time and Donte comes out of the gates on fire, with an explosive Dropkick that sends Seeker sprawling into the turnbuckles, before being Clotheslines straight out of the ring. Donte follows up with a Plancha and proceeds to batter the Seeker of Thrills all around ringside, before stopping for his signature hoot to the audience, who respond in kind.</p><p> </p><p>

Donte enters the ring with his opponent once more and is caught by a quick Cradle by Thrill Seeker, who only gets a two count. The Dynamic star is quick to scuttle away as Donte goes to capitalise, and the referee forces Donte to stop the pursuit long enough for Seeker to land a big kick to Donte’s shin. Back on a vertical plane, Seeker targets Donte with precise kicks to the damaged wheel before attempting his Curb Stomp finisher, Donte ducks and explodes with a German Suplex but Seeker over rotates and lands on his feet before delivering a Leaping Knee Strike to the Barbadians face.</p><p> </p><p>

Donte goes down hard and Seeker gets to work twisting his leg at uncomfortable to watch angles until Donte is utterly helpless. He extends the leg of Dunn and traps it between the bottom and middle rope before climbing to the top rope and hitting a savage Double Foot Stomp to the outstretched limb. Donte screams in pain as the referee untangles the ruined leg and by the time he crawls to the centre of the ring, Thrill Seeker has Springboarded in with a Fameasser, driving the face of Donte into the mat. Referee Johnathon Taylor counts the pinfall.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>So in the game file, it's just turned 2017 and now I'm looking for an opinion or two.</p><p> </p><p>

As the game began, I turned the show length back down to an hour and a ha;f for ease of booking, but now the (arguable) quality of matches, promos and storylines means I can have two hours again comfortably, </p><p> </p><p>

Having said that, there are a few interesting free agents in the world of Womens Wrestling, so I'm starting to wonder whether or not to being in a women's division too, </p><p>

I should mention I've currently got 56 people on my roster, as well as two small-scale house-show style events I do that allow the ten or so rookies to learn from the veterans I've hired to help train them (Art Reed, Freddie Datsun etc)</p><p> </p><p>

So, an overcrowded roster with more TV time but the chance to bring in another division.</p><p> </p><p>

Thoughts on the Golden Girl Division?</p>
