On a night where gaijin wrestlers reigned supreme, Omega defeated Kazuchika Okada after 25 minutes of brutal action, using the One-Winged Angel to finally put away "The Rainmaker". After the match, Omega celebrated his victory with the entirety of the Bullet Club, waving the black and white flag of his stable high. He grabbed the mic and promised the fans that the Bullet Club is not going anywhere, as he is determined to single–handedly bring NJPW to a global stage.

While Omega's victory is a massive shift in the NJPW landscape, it was not the only title that changed hands, as fellow foreigners Michael Elgin and Will Ospreay both captured NJPW gold. The future of New Japan may very well lie in the hands of these Western wrestlers, as the company looks to expand into a global brand with these faces at the forefront.

Also of note was the ten man tag match between Los Ingobernables de Japón and the New Japan sekigun veterans. Yuji Nagata picked up the victory, using his devastating Backdrop Hold to pin EVIL. After the match, Nagata got on the microphone and challenged Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Intercontinental Title, proclaiming that he and the Third Generation are fed up with Los Ingobernables' disrespectful actions. Lastly, neither Tag Title changed hands, as both the teams of Hirooki Goto and Tomohiro Ishii and Roppongi Vice retained in great matches.

http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g229/watchxyoxface/njpwbanner.jpg

<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:red;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";">NJPW "Invasion Attack 2017", 4/6/17 (WPW/TV Asahi Ch.2/PPV/NJPW World)

Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan

13,000 fans - Super No Vacancy

Show rating: A

http://i.imgur.com/l3Mucxl.png

<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:yellow;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";">

http://i.imgur.com/ETr7NIk.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/v9whJlu.jpghttp://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g229/watchxyoxface/75vs.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/C0eUztR.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/i69eJDC.jpg

1. Who knows how long any of them will last, as I do enjoy the occasional hot-shot of a belt back to the guy who lost it. We'll see. In other news, the announcement of some real world 2017 NJPW dates has given me some stuff to work off of.
Road to Wrestling Dontaku 2017 ~ Tiger Hattori Retirement show results!

<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:yellow;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";">Road to Wrestling Dontaku 2017 ~ Tiger Hattori Retirement show results + big news! by Dean - 4/17/17

The Road to Wrestling Dontaku kicked off with a bittersweet night, as New Japan Pro-Wrestling hosted a show at Tokyo Korakuen Hall to commemorate the career of referee and American liaison Tiger Hattori. Tiger has been instrumental in securing alliances with American promotions like Ring of Honor and booking talent from the US as well.

In huge news that confirmed long running rumors, it was announced that NJPW would be running two special G1 Climax shows in California this July! The announcement was made before the ceremony to commemorate Tiger Hattori, as it was said that the events could not have been booked without him.

Unfortunately, the ceremony followed what was a rather frustrating occurrence, as the Bullet Club hit the ring after the semi-main event and took out all six men involved. Kenny Omega hit Kazuchika Okada with a One-Winged Angel, and the duo of Hangman Page and Yujiro Takahashi beat down on IWGP Tag Team champions Hirooki Goto and Tomohiro Ishii. Hangman Page performed his brutal Rite of Passage finisher on Goto, and draped the IWGP Tag Team title belt over the champion. We can expect to see another Bullet Club vs. CHAOS title match added to either the Wrestling Dontaku or Wrestling Hirokuni cards.

In other title news, the team of Ricochet and David Finlay issued a challenge to IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team champions Roppongi Vice after Finlay picked up the win in their eight man tag team match. Ricochet is a two-time Jr. Tag champion, so his experience could very well prove to be an advantage if he and Finlay take on Beretta and Rocky Romero for the belts.

Lastly, in the main event, Tomoaki Honma picked up a huge win, using the Kokeshi to pin NEVER Openweight champion Michael Elgin in front of a roaring Korakuen crowd. Honma ended the show by pointing to Elgin's NEVER title in what seems to be the third challenge issued on the night. Will Elgin accept Honma's offer and attempt his first defense of the NEVER Openweight Title against Mr. Kokeshi? Or will former champion Katsuyori Shibata have something to say about this?

http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g229/watchxyoxface/njpwbanner.jpg

<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:red;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";">NJPW "Road to Wrestling Dontaku 2017 ~ Tiger Hattori Retirement", 4/17/17 (Samurai! I needed to figure out how to get to the IWGP Tag Title challenge without even having Bullet Club on the card, so I figured this would make sense. Definitely partially inspired by what Suzuki-gun did a few days ago at New Year Dash, but this let me advance Okada vs. Omega and set up Page and Takahashi as challengers.

I know some of you are probably like "WTF that team sucks", but I am okay with Page (I'm eh on Yujiro) and he will certainly be even better in the future. Gedo throws those curve balls here and there, so I figured I'd do the same.

http://i.imgur.com/l3Mucxl.png

<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:red;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";">Predictions

Dr_Avalanche: 4 of 6

Rateddc: 4 of 6

Mootinie: 3 of 6

Thanks for the quick picks! Yes, I definitely agree with that, but Honma getting that Kokeshi win over Big Mike is also a pretty feel-good story lol. I usually go with the "title change = auto rematch" rule, but you are right, a win for KUSHIDA would have given it a bit more heat. I still needed a way to set up a Jr. tag match tho.

6. I feel guilty now for not doing this! To give a peak behind the curtains, in my game, Tanahashi is very fatigued (over 50%). I am going to give him the entire Road to Dontaku tour off, and am starting to think about what this part of his career is going to look like. I am always tempted to end shows with the air guitar, but I think Honma vs. Elgin could be pretty great.

I was listening to Dave Meltzer talk about what may happen in RL NJPW going forward and I was talking with a friend about what next year's Wrestle Kingdom main event could be(in my opinion, Omega/Okada II), and it made me think about the thing that makes New Japan booking so good, the thing that makes people able to realistically plot out the next year's worth of World Title Changes, is that it's logical. And that's such a rare thing in wrestling. And I just wanted to say that your booking, so far, of NJPW, has done a great job of emulating that logic.

I also wanted to say that, although I personally want to see him when all the belts, the NEVER title is a good place for Elgin.

Also, you should totally hire ACH.

And also maybe bring back Suzuki-Gun, considering what happened recently.

But mainly, you should hire ACH.

Full cards for the Road to Dontaku, Wrestling Hirokuni and Wrestling Dontaku!

<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:yellow;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";">Full cards for the Road to Dontaku, Wrestling Hirokuni and Wrestling Dontaku! by Dean - 4/18/17

The full cards have been released for every night of the Road to Wrestling Dontaku tour as well as the big Wrestling Hirokuni and Wrestling Dontaku shows, and there are a number of huge matches scheduled for both nights!

Wrestling Dontaku will be held at the Fukuoka International Center and will see a rematch for the IWGP Heavyweight Title between "The Cleaner" Kenny Omega and "Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada. These two put on a classic at Invasion Attack, and Okada will seek to recapture the title and begin his 5th reign as champion. After ending 2016 with an all-out war between CHAOS and the Bullet Club, the spring of 2017 has seen a revitalization of the battle. The parallels between Omega and AJ Styles are many, but Okada ultimately overcame AJ's Bullet Club and established himself as the ace in the process. Will Omega prove to be a small lapse in Okada's dominance, or will the Bullet Club once again reign supreme over New Japan?

The IWGP Intercontinental Title will be defended at Wrestling Hirokuni at the Kumamoto Gran Messe, the same venue that was scheduled to host the event in 2016 before the devastating natural disaster in the area. Yuji Nagata will look to teach the ungovernable Tetsuya Naito to respect the traditions of New Japan Pro-Wrestling, which is something Intercontinental Champion Naito has undeniably failed to do in the last two years. There has been a brewing rivalry between Los Ingobernables de Japón and the Third Generation of NJPW graduates - we will also see a NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Title bout as EVIL, SANADA and BUSHI take on former champs and Third Generation graduates Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Satoshi Kojima with their partner Tiger Mask.

In addition to these two marquee title bouts, there will be a NEVER Openweight Title match at Hirokuni as new champion Michael Elgin takes on Tomoaki Honma, and a rematch between KUSHIDA and Will Ospreay for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title at Dontaku.

Lastly, both of the tag team titles will be defended, as Hirooki Goto and Tomohiro Ishii look to make their fourth successful defense against the Bullet Club team of Yujiro Takahashi and Hangman Page, while Roppongi Vice go for their second defense against Ricochet and David Finlay.

With every title on the line, great under card matches and an expected announcement of the entrants in the 24th annual Best of the Super Jr. tournament, both Hirokuni and Dontaku are sure to be can't miss shows!

Before NJPW continues on the Road to Wrestling Dontaku, there are a few newsworthy items to cover.

Hiroshi Tanahashi has been left off the tour as he is resting his shoulder, which has been causing him trouble for months. Missing these few shows will give him some time to recover before his matches at Hirokuni and Dontaku.

In light of Tiger Hattori's retirement, NJPW have hired a new referee, Daisuke Kamihayashi.

NJPW have brought legendary junior El Samurai on board in a behind the scenes role to work with the juniors. He joins Wataru Inoue, Kuniaki Kobayashi and Kazuo Yamazaki, who were already serving as road agents.

Lastly, NJPW will once again co-host shows with Ring of Honor in the USA in May, as Global Wars 2017 and the War of the Worlds tour will take place between 5/11/17 and 5/17/17. NJPW will return to Japan with Lion's Gate Project5 on 5/20/17.

http://i.imgur.com/l3Mucxl.png

<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:red;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";">Just some brief news, since wanted to explain where Tanahashi was. It was also cool to bring El Samurai on board, since he just retired in my game. And I am actually going to book the Global Wars shows in USA venues, and it looks like the crowd will be a bit bigger than I was expecting. But that's all coming after the Hirokuni and Dontaku shows.

Ended up giving a few different guys wins here...Fale, Tenzan, Taguchi. I gotta keep everyone happy, so figured I'd try to have Fale and Tenzan get the pins instead of Omega and Elgin, who are both super-over in my game. These "Road to..." shows really help me get certain guys over. I mean, Kamaitachi was briefly popular enough to be a main event guy lol.

1. Togi Makabe & Juice Robinson vs. Henare & Takumi Honjo

2. YOSHI-HASHI, Toru Yano, Gedo & Jado vs. Katsuyori Shibata, Manabu Nakanishi, Ryusuke Taguchi & Hirai Kawato

comments: Tough call, Gedo or Jado could take the fall, but I reckon Kawato's lying down.

3. Hiroshi Tanahashi & YOSHITATSU vs. Bad Luck Fale & Cody Hall

comments: I hate picking YOSHITATSU, but with Tanahashi being off the tour he'll need to pick up a win here.

4. Will Ospreay, Rocky Romero & Beretta vs. KUSHIDA, Ricochet & David Finlay

comments: KUSHIDA gets the win to build towards the title match.

5. Kamaitachi vs. Jushin Thunder Liger

comments: The New Japan dad puts over the next rightful Junior champion.

6. EVIL, SANADA & BUSHI © vs. Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima & Tiger Mask

comments: I was going to vote for the New Japan Dads for an honorary title run until I saw they were on opposite ends of a six man for Dontaku. I don't see you giving them the titles if that's the case.

7. Kazuchika Okada, Hirooki Goto & Tomohiro Ishii vs. Kenny Omega, Yujiro Takahashi & Hangman Page

comments: Like KUSHIDA, Okada goes over for momentum before the title match.

8. Michael Elgin © vs. Tomoaki Honma

comments: Honestly I've kind of lost interest in Honma and he should not be beating Elgin here. Big Mike gets the win.

9. Tetsuya Naito © vs. Yuji Nagata

comments: Nagata could get another one of his honorary title runs but the reign of Naito needs to continue.

2. Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Jushin Thunder Liger & Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Satoshi Kojima, Tiger Mask & Henare

comments: Henare takes the fall.

3. Toru Yano & YOSHI-HASHI vs. Bad Luck Fale & Cody Hall

4. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Michael Elgin & YOSHITATSU vs. Togi Makabe, Tomoaki Honma & Juice Robinson

comments: Again, hate voting for YOSHI, but Tanahashi & Big Mike for the win.

5. Rocky Romero & Beretta © vs. Ricochet & David Finlay

comments: RPG deserve a decent title run, and Ricochet & Finlay haven't really done anything of note to get the titles.

6. Hirooki Goto & Tomohiro Ishii © vs. Yujiro Takahashi & Hangman Page

comments: Goto & Ishii need to anchor the tag division while you rebuild. Takahashi and page are dull. Easy finish.

7. Will Ospreay © vs. KUSHIDA

comments: KUSHIDA could win it back but it'd kill Ospreay dead in the water. He needs to win.

8. Tetsuya Naito, EVIL & SANADA vs. Katsuyori Shibata, Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi

comments: If Naito retains I see Shibata getting the pin here to set up the next defence.

9. Kenny Omega © vs. Kazuchika Okada

comments: Same as Ospreay, Omega needs to defend here if he ever wants to be taken seriously.

Hangman Page scored a big win in the main event, while Okada and Omega broke out into another brawl to end the show. Kamaitachi also managed to get a tainted win over Liger in advance of their singles match, using a School Boy to defeat the veteran after BUSHI blew poison mist in Liger's face. While the legendary mask might have blocked the damage, Kamaitachi was able to sneak in the pinning combination to win the match for LIJ.

<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:yellow;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";">Night 3 in the books. I just want to say thanks to anyone who made predictions so far - even just seeing one reply motivates me to get my shows posted and to keep on booking since I always have fun surprising you guys or just confirming what you get right. I have some really big plans (essentially I already have the top 4 matches for WK12 mapped out) and am really, really hoping I can get there eventually. I've been playing TEW for a long time, but this is by far the most successful game/dynasty I've had, and am really excited to show everyone what I have in mind for NJPW. Keep reading along and get those predictions in!

The fans at Oita City Gymnasium saw one of the better shows of the tour so far, as Katsuyori Shibata and Yuji Nagata took on Tetsuya Naito and SANADA in a great semi-main event. Nagata scored a pinfall in advance of his IWGP Intercontinental Title match against Naito, using his patented Backdrop Hold to defeat SANADA. Also of note was Juice Robinson's big win over Manabu Nakanishi.
