The match had a near perfect pacing, both of the veteran's experience really showing, not too many big moves were performed but enough of them for the fans to enjoy. A desperate fight seeing Hirooki Goto looking to gain momentum after a tough couple of months, and Elgin in his first G-1 tournament. Matching up well the match seemed close with both the IC Champion Elgin and the one time G-1 Champion Goto getting their offence in in the match. The match ended after Michael Elgin reversed the GTR and hit a Big Mike Fly Flow, pinning Goto down for the 1, 2, 3. After the match you can see Goto visually angry at himself, seemingly wanting to take the intensity up a notch in his next match.
