Jms81018 (Raw) vs Diablox (SD Live!) -- Brand Supremacy!

Recommended Posts

The Flash has gone back in time yet again, causing an alternate reality and has affected the WWE universe. The Draft turned out a lot different than in real life (yet very similar current champions). Shane and Daniel are still "in charge" of SD Live as are Stephanie and Foley of Raw but behind the scene, there are two new names that have final say on all decisions. The battle lines have been drawn. The war has begun. Who is the superior brand? We pick up at Nov. 1 2016 to see how things unfold.

Week 1 - Nov - Monday Night RAW!

In a strange turn of events, Diablox, the entity feeding the ideas to Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan on Smackdown Live is posting the write up of rival show RAW!

Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon open the show to welcome us to the new and improved Monday Night Raw. They announce that the next PPV is Survivor Series, and to prove that Raw is the dominant brand, they are challenging SD Live to a series of matches at Survivor Series later to be named if accepted! AJ Styles then interrupts and says that he is the most dominant champion in WWE. Not that Galactic, best friend having wannabe on SD. Foley says that may be but since the brands are split. There need to be new challengers for titles. Stephanie announces that Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn and The Miz will have a triple threat match to determine the new number one contender to Styles' championship later tonight!

Dolph Ziggler comes out and says that he wants to bring prestige back to the IC Belt after The Miz tarnished it's name by defending it so cowardly over the past year. Ziggler states that he is issuing an open challenge... RIGHT NOW.

The surprise opponent turns out to be Fandango! After a decent match and 13 minutes of action. Dolph would hit a Superkick for the 3 count to make defense number 1 of his IC Belt.

Rating- C

Sasha Banks comes out to the ring and says that Charlotte is lucky that she was drafted to SD because Sasha would have taken her Belt in a heartbeat. She then states that another member of the four horsewomen and current Women's champion, Becky Lynch, was drafted to Raw. Sasha calls her out and says that she wants a shot. Becky agrees quickly for next week! They shake hands.

Rating- C+

Sasha Banks then went on to defeat Summer Rae by making her tap out.

Rating- F (because you know, real life mods)

Nia Jax squashed a local talent in 3 minutes.

Rating- E-

The Club come out to the ring and say that they are disgusted with who Raw's Tag Champions are. They call out Slater and Rhyno. The Club lay into them, calling them a joke of a tag team. They throw Rhyno out of the ring and hit Slater with the Magic Killer before leaving.

Rating- C-

The Miz is backstage with Maryse. He promises to bring more gold home to her. They make out.

Rating- C

Kendrick is in the ring now. He says that he is disappointed with Cedric and Gran's match. He runs down the entire Cruiserweight division, saying that they have all failed him. He says that there is no one in this division that can beat him. NEVILLE then comes out of nowhere and tries to attack Kendrick before he escapes!

Rating- C-

Becky Lynch beat Natalya after the Disarmher forced her to tap out.

Rating- D (wow this mod needs adjusting)

American Alpha beat the Vaudevillians in a glorified squash match.

During the match, Simon Gotch suffered, what appeared to be some type of serious hand injury.

Rating- D

Baron Corbin beat Darren Young fairly quickly with the End of Days. Baron teased going after Bob Backland after the match but decided not to.

Rating- D

Sami Zayn is backstage and says that he is the ultimate underdog. That nobody believes in him. But he does, and that's all that matters.

Rating- C

After a pretty good match and 17 minutes of action, Seth Rollins pinned The Miz after hitting the Pedigree. Maryse tried to get involved early but the ref ejected her. Zayn had a chance to pin The Miz at one point after a Helluva Kick but Rollins made the save just in time.

Rating- C+

After the match, AJ Styles came out and started brawling with Rollins, only for Rollins to gain the upper hand and hit the Pedigree to close the show!

<strong>Rating- B</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Shane McMahon & Daniel Bryan are in the ring to start Smackdown Live, which is officially the land of opportunity.</p><p>

Kevin Owens comes out and interrupts them saying he earned his opportunity and he is the WWE Universal Champion. In fact he is opportunity so why does SD Live need any more opportunity at all?</p><p>

Bryan says that the opportunity they are talking about is for those climbing the mountain not those currently at the top. But at Survivor Series two mountains clash when Kevin Owens represents SD Live against AJ Styles in the main event. Shane takes the microphone and says that in case Stephanie and Mick weren't sure... of course SD Live accepts their Survivor Series challenge! SD Live will be assembling their best team to take on RAW and qualifying matches for the male 5vs5 match will start tonight! The first match for a place on their team begins right now!!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- B</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Rusev vs Apollo Crews</p><p>

In a match that lacked chemistry Rusev forced Apollo Crews to tap out to the Accolade and won himself a place on the SD Live Survivor Series team.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Dean Ambrose is backstage in the locker room with Roman Reigns. He says that now SD Live has accepted the challenge that means Reigns fights for SD Live against Dolph Ziggler at Survivor Series. Reigns says he's got it covered! Believe that!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- B-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Enzo & Big Cass come to the ring with their usual entrance. Enzo says that there won't be a 5 on 5 Tag match at Survivor Series. Instead the SD Live Tag Champs New Day will take on Raw Champs Slater & Rhyno. But the rest of the SD Live teams won't just sit by idly and wait patiently. They've arranged for a 4-way tag match to take place on SD Live the last show before Survivor Series with the winners becoming the No.1 contenders to the SD Live Tag titles. Cass takes the mic and says that as for those other SD Live teams... there's only one word to describe them... SAWFT!</p><p> </p><p>

The Shining Stars music hits immediately and they come out claiming that having such a match to prove they are the best team will be a waste of their 'time share' but nonetheless they accept. And Enzo & Cass aren't the only ones that have been arranging as they've arranged for Enzo & Cass to have a match with the Shining Stars right here tonight.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Shining Stars vs Enzo & Cass</p><p>

Epico got the win with a handful of tights over Enzo Amore in a match where Enzo & Cass looked strong despite the loss.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage Nikki Bella is talking with Bayley. Charlotte enters with Dana Brooke and says that at Survivor Series she will be destroying Raw's Becky Lynch but meanwhile the 2 of them should be following the command of Dana Brooke who she has decided is in charge of SD Live's female Survivor Series team. Nikki and Bayley look at each other and laugh and say there's no way that is happening. Nikki steps up to Charlotte and asks how she plans on making them follow Dana's lead? Charlotte laughs and notices Shane McMahon nearby. She calls him over and tells him to inform Nikki that Dana is in charge. Shane looks confused but says that all he knows is that Daniel Bryan has set a match for tonight. Bayley vs Dana Brooke. The loser cannot be the captain of the women's SD Live team.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Sheamus is walking backstage and stops short as he sees Cesaro. He goes over to him and says that finally he is rid of Mick Foley and that horrible tag team he found himself in. But it seems he's not yet rid of Cesaro. Cesaro says that he feels exactly the same way and walks off.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Bayley vs Dana Brooke</p><p>

Dana Brooke stole the win by using the ropes for leverage in a match with great chemistry.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The TitanTron turns on as the lights in the arena go out. An eerie scene is shown as finally Bray Wyatt appears. He says that Survival is a strange concept. Some will do anything to survive. Others simply cannot survive. What separates those who survive from those who don't? I do! RUN!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- A</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage Chris Jericho is seen writing on his list. A loud cheer from the crowd goes up as Randy Orton walks up behind him. Randy asks Jericho what he's doing. Y2J says that he's writing a list obviously. Orton asks what's on the list. Jericho clutches the list tightly and won't say. Orton asks if he's on the list? Jericho goes quiet before throwing the list on the floor and finally shouting that's not how the list works and then walking away. Orton picks up the list and reads it. He smiles and is surprised to find that he wasn't on the list!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- A</strong></p><p> </p><p>

New Day's opening begins and the SD Live Tag champs come to the ring. Xavier says that's he's confused. On SD Live they have what were the RAW Tag titles and on RAW they have the SD Live Tag titles. Kofi says that it doesn't matter because they will prove themselves the dominant tag team either way but who will they be against at Survivor Series? Who? Who? Who? Big E says that also won't matter BECAUSE... New Day Rocks!! New Day Rocks!!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- B-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Daniel Bryan enters the ring as New Day leave. Bryan says congratulations to Rusev who is the first confirmed member of the SD Live Survivor Series team. But tonight's main event will decide SD Live's team captain! Welcome the guys for tonight's Main Event!!</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Week 2 Nov. - Monday Night Raw!</p><p> </p><p>

AJ Styles starts off the show, calling out Kevin Owens for being a paper champion. He says that at Survivor Series, he is going to prove that he is the face that runs this place. Out come Stephanie and Foley. Foley says he believes in Styles and wants him to prove himself tonight by facing Owens' former best friend, Sami Zayn! That will be the Main Event for tonight. Next Stephanie says that as far as the 5v5 men's match goes, she wants the best of the best so tonight will start qualifying matches, starting with Rollins vs The Big Show and later Kane vs Braun Strowman!</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- B-</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Rollins vs Big Show went for a good 10 minutes with Rollins trying to work Show's legs to break him down. Big Show used his size well. The finish came when Show went for the knockout punch but Rollins ducked and hit a quick kick to the head followed by the Pedigree for the clean win.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Seth Rollins</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- B</p><p> </p><p>

Becky Lynch comes out to the ring. She says that her, Sasha, Bayley and Charlotte have come a long way since the day they walked into the performance center, but at Survivor Series she is going to prove why she is better than Charlotte. Then she announces that the women will have qualifying matches for their 5v5 match, starting with Sasha vs Summer Rae!</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- C+</p><p> </p><p>

Sasha makes her way to the ring but is ambushed by Summer during her entrance. Summer unloads with right hands and throws Sasha into the steps before throwing her back in the ring. The ref checks on Sasha and rings the bell. Summer spends a good few minutes taking advantage of Sasha before Sasha hits the bank statement of out nowhere to make Summer tap!</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Sasha Banks</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- C-</p><p> </p><p>

Styles is backstage with Cathy Kelley. Styles says that while he thinks Sami is a solid worker, he has no business being in the ring with him, and that he is going to beat Sami better than Owens ever could.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- A</p><p> </p><p>

Rhyno and Heath come out to the ring and announce that they will handle the New Day at Survivor Series but tonight there will be a match to determine the #1 contenders for the tag team championship.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- D+ </p><p> </p><p>

American Alpha vs The Club to become the #1 contenders for the tag team championship ended in a draw after both teams were brawling on the outside to be counted out. No official word yet on who the #1 contenders will be.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Draw</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- C-</p><p> </p><p>

It's time for Dolph Ziggler's IC open challenge but first, to address Roman Reigns. Ziggler says that unlike Roman, he is someone that the people actually WANT to see as champion, which prompts a huge "Roman SUCKS" chant. Ziggler says that he will show everyone that he the hardest working man in the business and will prove it right now by defending the IC title. His opponent is... TYLER BREEZE! Fandango tried last week but was unsuccessful so it's time for his tag team partner to give it a go.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- B</p><p> </p><p>

This was arguably match of the night as the two showed off their incredible in ring prowess. There was dueling chants of "Let's go Ziggler, Tyler's Gorgeous" throughout this. The finish came when Ziggler was setting up the Superkick but Fandango got up on the apron to try and distract him. Tyler tried to take advantage but instead hit Fandango to which Ziggler hit the Zig Zag and got the pin! Your winner and still IC champion... Dolph Ziggler!</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Dolph Ziggler</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- C+</p><p> </p><p>

In a pretty solid bout, Neville scored the upset over the Cruiserweight champion, Brian Kendrick. The finish came after Kendrick tried to use the ropes for a leverage pin but was seen by the ref. As Kendrick argued the call, Neville hit a German Suplex to set up the Red Arrow for the 3 count!</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Neville</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- C-</p><p> </p><p>

Sami Zayn is backstage with Cathy Kelley. Cathy asks what Zayn thinks about what AJ had to say earlier. Zayn says that his entire life he's had doubters, so this is nothing new. He says he's going to show AJ and the world that he belongs here and that he belongs in the Main Event!</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- C-</p><p> </p><p>

Braun Strowman vs Kane is next. This was a very short match surprisingly. Braun absolutely dominated Kane for the entire match. After the match Kane took his time leaving the ring, looking distraught as he left. </p><p>

Note: Officials backstage say that Kane was upset with the booking of the match, as he felt like while Braun going over was the right move, he should've gotten more offense in.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Braun Strowman</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- D</p><p> </p><p>

We go backstage where Noam Dar is seen warming up, presumably for a match. Out of nowhere Baron Corbin attacks him, throwing him into boxes and through tables backstage. The camera pans to Corbin as he shakes his head in disgust.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- B</p><p> </p><p>

In another women's qualifying match, Nia Jax destroyed Naomi quickly to qualify for team Raw.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Nia Jax</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- E+</p><p> </p><p>

Sami Zayn vs AJ Styles in the Main Event is next. Both Sami and Styles were super over with the live crowd, with frequent chants of "olé" and "AJ Styles" throughout the match. This one was dead even for most of the match with Styles kicking out of a Helluva kick and Sami kicking out of a Phenomenal Forearm. The finish came when Sami had Styles set up for a second Helluva kick, just as he was about to unleash, The Miz's music came on which distracted Zayn long enough for Styles to recover and spin Zayn around for the Styles clash and the 3 count.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: AJ Styles</p><p> </p><p>

Rating- B-</p><p> </p><p>

Overall rating- C+ with a TV rating of 24.48.</p>

The introductory video for Smackdown live opened the show.

Rating- B

Randy Orton's music opens Smackdown Live and the Apex Predator comes out to the ring. He takes a microphone and says that he guesses the WWE Universe are wondering why he gave an RKO to both Cena and Ambrose in last week's Main Event. The answer is actually a question. What made Cena and Ambrose the only two guys on SD Live that deserved to fight for the SD SS Team Captaincy?

Daniel Bryan's music begins and the SD Live GM comes to the ring. He says that Randy might be right. Maybe giving only Ambrose and Cena the chance to be SD Live team captain was wrong. But what Randy did last week in the main event... was the wrong way to go about complaining. The right way would have been to ask the SD GM directly for an opportunity. And as SD Live is the land of opportunity that's precisely what's going to happen. Ambrose, Cena and Orton will team up in a match tonight. Whoever gets the pinfall or forces a submission victory is SD Live team captain at SS!!

Rating- B+

Backstage Kevin Owens is arriving. From another direction Y2J Chris Jericho also arrives. They are delighted to see each other and share a warm hug. Owens asks if Jericho heard the foul lies that AJ Styles was telling on Raw about him being a paper champion. Jericho says that Styles had no right to say such things and asked Owens if he knows what is going to happen to Styles for being such a stupid idiot? HE JUST MADE THE LIST! Owens agrees and asks if Jericho has a match tonight and if not would he like to be in his corner for his main event non-title match with Cesaro? Jericho happily accepts.

Rating- A

In the ring Rusev's music is playing and the Bulgarian Brute stands with Lana. He says that last week he won a place on the SD Live team for SS but he wanted to make one thing clear. He doesn't care about being team captain. He barely cares about SD. All he cares about is crushing his opponents.

New Day's music begins and the trio come out to the ring as usual throwing boxes of Booty-O's into the crowd. Xavier says that Rusev is an angry man but they've decided to help him lighten up with a game of Rock... Paper... NEW DAY! (Rocks!) NEW DAY! (Rocks!) NEW DAY! (Rocks!).

Lana shouts out for the crowd to shut up and for New Day to send someone to the ring for her husband to crush. Kofi Kingston steps forward to oblige.

Rating- B-

Kofi Kingston vs Rusev

In a match that lacked psychology but had some great entertainment from Xavier Woods at ringside Kofi used his speed to his advantage in the early stages but was eventually caught by Rusev and made to tap out to a brutal Accolade in 10:44.

Rating- C+

Nikki Bella is backstage talking with Daniel Bryan. Charlotte and Dana Brooke walk up and say that they're sorry to interrupt this family chat but Dana wanted to know officially that she's now the team captain of the Women's SD Live team at SS after beating Bayley last week. Bryan says that he can't decide that yet. Tonight Nikki Bella takes on Alicia Fox and again, the loser cannot be the Women's captain.

Rating- C

Sheamus comes down to the ring for his non-title match with US Champion Roman Reigns. He says that he heard last week Reigns say that he was confident of beating Dolph Ziggler for SD Live at SS in the US Champ vs Intercontinental Champ match. But Sheamus is doubtful and actually agrees for once with what Dolph Ziggler said on Raw this week - that the fans don't want to see Reigns as their US Champion. Sheamus demands the opportunity to take Reigns' place in the SS match and as SD Live's US Champion.

Roman Reigns comes out onto the ramp and says Dolph can say whatever he wants to a Superman Punch at Survivor Series. He asks if Sheamus remembers not so long ago how they fought over the WWE World Heavyweight Title? Didn't that end pretty badly for Sheamus?

Shane McMahon's music hits and Shane says that as Reigns is sure of victory at SS and Sheamus has asked for an opportunity... their match coming up next is now a US Title match!

Rating- B-

Roman Reigns vs Sheamus (US Title)

This match had good back and forth action despite neither men selling each other's moves particularly well. Sheamus found himself frustrated after Reigns kicked out of a Brogue Kick and narrowly avoided a Spear moments later as he complained to the official by rolling out of the ring. When he returned he did so with a steel chair in hand. As Reigns went for a Superman Punch Sheamus intercepted with the chair and got himself intentionally disqualified after 11:31 earning Reigns his first US Title defence.

Rating- B

Backstage John Cena is warming up for the 3-way tag match which will decide the SD Live SS team captain. Dean Ambrose walks up and says that they can't allow Orton to get the pinfall tonight after he RKO'd them both last week. Cena nods in agreement. Ambrose says Cena and himself can win the match on their own and once Ambrose gets the pinfall all will be right in the world again. Ambrose walks off as Cena frowns.

Rating- B+

Nikki Bella vs Alicia Fox

Neither competitor looked comfortable fighting the other with no chemistry whatsoever and it was a relief when Nikki got the pinfall in 9:04.

Rating- D

Bray Wyatt's alarming cut scene interrupts proceedings and the Eater of Worlds appears shrouded in mist. He says that last week he announced that he is the one who decides who survives and who does not. This week he has decided. And he has a message for one particular... Beast... RUN!!

Rating- B+

Cena, Ambrose & Orton vs The Ascension & Jinder Mahal

Ambrose got the match started before Cena and Orton had even entered the ring but failed to get the early win with the SD Live SS team captaincy on the line. Cena tagged himself in after 7 minutes of Ambrose fighting alone and had a go himself but found the three count from his AA interrupted when Ambrose distracted the referee! As Cena and Ambrose had words Orton blind tagged in for his first time in the match and RKO'd Jinder Mahal gaining the pinfall in 11:29 and earning the SD Live SS team captaincy in the process!

Rating- B

Enzo & Cass are backstage talking about last week's loss to the Shining Stars. Cass says that Epico & Primo cheated and it won't happen again. From behind them the Shining Stars themselves appear and they say that they hope Enzo & Cass aren't too disappointed because in the 4-way tag No.1 contenders match in 2 weeks, it's the Shining Stars that are coming out winners once again. Enzo looks angry but Cass holds him back as the Stars walk away laughing.

Rating- C

Kevin Owens vs Cesaro (non-title)

A superb performance from both men who enjoyed great chemistry even with a lack of psychology (apparently that's possible!). Both men looked capable of getting the win with the crowd cheering them both on with a long chant of THIS IS AWESOME! Finally though it was Chris Jericho's involvement that upset the even match flow as he raked Cesaro's eyes as Owens kept the official's back turned. A Pop-Up Powerbomb later and Owens had the win.

Rating- B

After the match, Cesaro slowly recovers from the Pop-Up Powerbomb dealt by Keven Owens. Jericho and Owens embrace on the ramp and Jericho holds Owens hand up in victory. Cesaro is gutted after the narrow defeat dealt due to the distraction from Jericho as SD Live goes off the air.

Rating- B

Overall Grade- B+

Smackdown Live received a 25.42 TV Rating.

<p>Week 3 --- Monday Night Raw!</p><p> </p><p>

Sami Zayn starts the show already in the ring, microphone in hand. Zayn is fuming as last week he had Styles on the ropes until The Miz got involved. Zayn says he was out to prove that he belonged in the Main Event but now he wants to get a little pay back. AJ Styles interrupts. He says it doesn't matter if Miz got involved because he still would've beat Sami because he's the champ that runs the camp! Zayn laughs. Miz now interrupts and joins AJ on the ramp. Miz says he's tired of "Indy darlings" coming into his turf, thinking that they run things. Miz says he is going to rid the world of them starting with Zayn and eventually Styles. Styles and Miz have a quick stare down before they charge the ring and attack Zayn. After a few shots to Zayn, Rollins comes down for the save! Rollins clears the ring of the two heels. Rollins then gets on the mic and challenges Styles and Miz to a tag match in the Main Event tonight!</p><p> </p><p>

A lot of dueling "Let's go Becky, Let's go Sasha" chants throughout this one. The two were evenly matched, reversing moves left and right as well as implementing numerous submissions. After Sasha hit a superplex on Becky, the two were down. This prompted Nia Jax to make her way to the ring, destroying both women! Nia threw Sasha into the barricade several times before giving two leg drops to Becky in the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

The Club vs American Alpha vs Slater & Rhyno (Tag Team Championship Match)</p><p>

This was a one fall, triple threat tag match in which one member from two teams start and everyone else would have to tag in. The Club did a great job of keeping American Alpha out of the match by not allowing tags as they worked Heath Slater most of the match. Alpha and Rhyno had to break up several pin attempts on Slater. The finish came when Rhyno finally lost it and went after The Club, but The Club used the numbers game and put him through the announce table. American Alpha tried to intervene and looked to have The Club on the ropes. But after The Club both hit tandem low blows on Alpha, they got back into the ring and hit the Magic Killer on Heath. I...2...3!</p><p> </p><p>

Sami Zayn & Seth Rollins vs The Miz & AJ Styles</p><p>

This one was Seth v Miz and Styles v Sami most of the match as Miz and Styles tagged out each time their counterparts tagged in. Towards the end it was Sami and Styles in the ring and finally Sami had enough so he attacked Miz while on the apron. The two spilled outside and began brawling. While that was going on, Rollins attacked Styles in the ring. Rollins attempted a Pedigree but Styles escaped to the outside. Rollins tried a suicide dive but crashed and burned. Miz and Styles would then double team Zayn. Miz would mock Zayn by using the Helluva kick against him into the Phenomenal Forearm for the 3 count.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner - The Miz & AJ Styles</p><p>

After the match, Braun Strowman came down and took out both Seth and Sami as Styles and Miz looked on in horror.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The introductory video for Smackdown live opened the show.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- B+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Shane McMahon is in the ring to open SD. He announces that last week the SD Live team captain for SS was decided and he'd like to invite that man to the ring right now. Please welcome The Viper Randy Orton!</p><p> </p><p>

Orton comes to the ring slowly and methodically shakes hands with Shane McMahon. Shane congratulates him but says that being team captain isn't a reward, it's a responsibility and Orton should know that SD expects nothing less than victory over RAW at SS. </p><p> </p><p>

Orton ponders and asks Shane what does victory earn him? If Team SD is to win at SS it will need it's captain fully motivated so what is Shane going to promise Orton for bringing home the win at SS?</p><p> </p><p>

Kevin Owen's music begins and the WWE Universal Champion comes to the ring. Owens waves his finger at Shane and tells him to not even think about offering Orton a chance at his title if team SD wins at SS. Owens has enough to think about in going against AJ Styles, he doesn't need a Viper stalking him too. </p><p> </p><p>

Shane says that he's not promising anyone anything after SS. First, team SD and Owens win. Second, he'll give opportunities. Speaking of which, in tonight's main event it will be Owens and Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton and a partner of either Dean Ambrose or John Cena. It's Orton's choice!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- B</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Cesaro is backstage and finds SD GM Daniel Bryan. He says that last week he went toe to toe with Universal Champion Kevin Owens in the main event and if it wasn't for the interference from Chris Jericho he's sure he would have picked up the non-title victory.</p><p> </p><p>

Bryan agrees and says that the match last week was a worthy main event but he asks where Cesaro is going with this? Jericho and Owens already have a match tonight so he can't offer him a rematch with Owens or a match with Jericho.</p><p> </p><p>

Cesaro says he's not bothered about that tonight, although he will want to unleash the Cesaro section on Owens and Jericho eventually. What he wants is the last place on team SD for Survivor Series alongside Rusev, Cena, Ambrose and Orton.</p><p> </p><p>

Bryan nods and says Cesaro is a worthy candidate but he can't just give that last place away. Instead there will be a last chance battle royal tonight with the winner getting the last place. Cesaro can be in that match. Cesaro nods and leaves as Bryan wishes him good luck.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Enzo Amore vs. Epico</p><p> </p><p>

Enzo and Epico had an open match with both exchanging moments in control. Primo at ringside was vocal and went to interfere as Enzo was about to go for his finisher. Big Cass stopped the interruption and Enzo claimed the win.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

As Enzo celebrates the win over Epico after Big Cass prevented the run-in from Primo they are both attacked by The Ascension who throw Cass out of the ring before laying into Enzo. The Shining Stars help in the attack on the outside beating down Cass. Into the ring storm the Lucha Dragons who see off The Ascension before launching themselves over the top rope onto The Shining Stars. All four teams meet in a number one contender match next week for the New Day's Tag Team titles.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

New Day's music begins and they bounce their way to the ring. Xavier says that last week Kofi took on Rusev and it didn't go so well. So this week Big E is going to step forward and take on Rusev instead.</p><p> </p><p>

Rusev's music begins and he makes his way to the ring with Lana. He stands opposite Big E in the ring as the match is about to start but before the bell rings Xavier Woods jumps on Rusev's back in a sleeper hold. Big E and Kofi run over to the timekeeper who is made to ring the bell for the match to begin!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- B</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Xavier Woods vs Rusev</p><p> </p><p>

Woods attempted the sleeper on Rusev for some time and on multiple occasions even linking together some other offence but Rusev showed his power in resisting and never looking too vulnerable. A super kick followed by the Accolade and the Bulgarian Brute got the win.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage Charlotte comes across Nikki Bella. Charlotte says that Nikki might have beaten Alicia Fox last week but this week her protege Dana Brooke is going to finish the discussion once and for all and become the SD team captain by beating Nikki one-two-three. Nikki goes to reply but from behind Dana Brooke runs up and attacks Nikki. Dana stomps Nikki to the floor as Charlotte tells her that their match is up next. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Dana Brooke vs Nikki Bella</p><p> </p><p>

In a match where Nikki seemed out of sorts and almost lacklustre Dana picked up the shock win when Charlotte distracted the referee multiple times and finally attacked Nikki while the official's back was turned. Dana got the pinfall moments later.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Daniel Bryan comes to the ring as Dana Brooke's music plays and she celebrates her controversial victory. He says that Dana should be very proud of herself winning in such a way but as he wouldn't want to be accused of preferential treatment for his family he has no choice but to let the victory stand. However, Dana Brooke is not the SD team captain for SS yet. In case they hadn't noticed, Dana, Alicia Fox, Nikki Bella and Bayley are only 4 of the SD women's team. There's a 5th member who has every right to challenge for the captaincy. So next week Dana Brooke goes one on one with that woman. And Charlotte will be banned from ringside!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- B-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

In the back Sheamus walks into Shane McMahon's office. He says that last week he had a US Title match with Roman Reigns and proved that he's the better man to fight Dolph Ziggler for SD.</p><p> </p><p>

Shane looks confused and says that Sheamus lost last week because he got himself disqualified. How is that proving he's the better man?</p><p> </p><p>

Sheamus says he got disqualified on purpose to spare the crowd any more of Roman Reigns in the ring, something they don't want to see. And next week how about Sheamus gets another chance at the US Title? Only this time why not make it a no disqualification match?</p><p> </p><p>

Shane looks suspicious but says that he does want the best man to hold the US Title going into SS so he'll grant the request. However, to make it fair, Reigns gets to choose one other stipulation for the match.</p><p> </p><p>

The cameras pan out and show that Roman Reigns has been standing at the door the whole time. He says choosing his stipulation is easy. Their match... will be a cage match!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- B-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Cesaro vs Jinder Mahal vs Apollo Crews vs Curt Hawkins vs Bo Dallas vs Mark Henry</p><p> </p><p>

This six way encounter was fast-paced with each man getting time in the limelight... except Jinder Mahal who ended up taking every other mans finisher before Cesaro got the most opportune chance and achieved the pin after a Neutralizer to confirm his place on team SD at SS.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

John Cena is backstage with Renee Young. She asks him what his thoughts were on Randy Orton being team SD's captain at Survivor Series and was he Orton's partner in the main event tonight?</p><p> </p><p>

Cena says he accepts Orton as captain because he has to. Ambrose was the one that prevented him from getting the captaincy for himself last week, not Orton.</p><p> </p><p>

Dean Ambrose walks up and says that Cena didn't follow the plan last week. But forget about that, has Orton asked Cena to be his partner tonight?</p><p> </p><p>

Cena shakes his head and says no. Ambrose smiles and says that he guesses that means Orton's partner is the good old Lunatic Fringe. He heads off to get ready for the main event match.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- A</strong></p><p> </p><p>

A misty scene is surrounding the ring and it's so thick that it's not clear what is going on. A low voice speaks out from amidst the mist...</p><p> </p><p>

'Beast...'</p><p>

'Beast...'</p><p>

'Where are you Beast?'</p><p> </p><p>

The mist begins to clear and in the ring Bray Wyatt is revealed sitting on his rocking chair laughing. The cameras pan in close as Bray shouts...</p><p> </p><p>

'RUN!'</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- A</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage Kevin Owens is with Chris Jericho. Y2J says that whoever Orton chooses to be his partner is a stupid idiot! And he asks if Owens knows what happens to them as well? Owens says he thinks he knows but could Jericho tell him anyway. Jericho says whoever Orton chooses... HE JUST MADE THE LIST!!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- B+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho vs Randy Orton & John Cena </p><p> </p><p>

Orton signals for the match to begin before any partner has arrived. Eventually Ambrose comes to the ring and stands on the apron as Orton takes on both Owens and Jericho. Moments later John Cena arrives as well and joins the SD announce team. He says that Ambrose is welcome to be Orton's partner.</p><p> </p><p>

As the match goes on Orton still hasn't tagged in Ambrose and when he finally goes to do so Ambrose jumps off the apron and pretends not to notice. Owens and Jericho take control of the match and Jericho locks in the Walls of Jericho. Ambrose runs in to intercept but at the last moment chooses not to leaving Orton in the hold in serious pain.</p><p> </p><p>

Cena on commentary says he's had enough of this and goes in to confront Ambrose. They argue and the ref tries to break it up as Orton has to tap out! But the official doesn't see it and Jericho breaks the hold to complain with Owens. As the ref now deals with them Cena picks up Ambrose and hits an AA taking him out of the ring. Orton has made his way to the corner and Cena tags himself into the match as Orton's partner! He throws Owens to the outside and gets Jericho into the STFU! Owens goes to break it up but Orton intercepts with an RKO!!</p><p> </p><p>

Jericho is forced to tap and seemingly Orton and Cena pick up the win as Ambrose never officially entered the match! Smackdown Live comes to a close as Cena, Orton and Ambrose all stare each other down, far from a cohesive team for SS.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rating- B</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Overall Grade- B+</p><p>

Smackdown Live received a 24.79 TV Rating to a sell out crowd of 10,600.</p>
