<p>While there is still plenty of time to make your nominations since this doesn't end until February 1, I wanted to make sure that there was still some interest in these end of year awards.</p><p> </p><p>

If there is no interest, then, of course, I wouldn't bother with them. But I just want to make sure that the readers, writers, etc. have an interest in the end of year awards.</p>

<p>I must confess, I am still deliberating through my nominations and have been for the better part of a week. </p><p> </p><p>

Sadly perhaps, I have found myself nominating the same three or four diaries for each individual award. <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>Cornellverse Diary Of The Year Award: <strong>SWF: Sins of the Father by Eisen-Verse</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>The first diary to come to mind for this award was Voeltzwagon's excellent AAW diary but obviously, it kinda ended as 2016 started... E-V has absolutely killed it with SWF though. When the new game came out and there was a flurry of SWF start-ups, I wondered which one would stand the test of time and given his misgivings during his previous SWF project, I wasn't totally convinced E-V would keep it going this time around. Congratulations on proving me wrong good brother.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Mod Diary Of The Year Award: <strong>WCW '94: War of the Thrones by Beejus</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>A must read, but anybody that's been around here for five minutes already knows that. This nod was touch and go between Beej and TFC, honestly I could nominate both but considering War was the diary that got me writing, it deserves its place here. You always got the boys popping in our Skype chat when we had finished reading. </em><img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Writer Section</p><p>

---</p><p>

Best Writer Of The Year Award: <strong>The Final Countdown </strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>An award that could go to any number of writers but I think the sheer consistency of TFC's diary writing deserves a nod here. Even with the weight of running The Golden Age towards the end, he still pulled out an all-time great conclusion and one that left most of us wishing that diary could continue onwards. I am really looking forward to seeing him and Beej battle it out this year with their WCW projects and seeing the drastically different directions they are both bound to take that promotion will be nothing short of fascinating.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Presentation Of The Year Award: <strong>NoNeck for Guest Booker: Better Call Phil [Thunderverse]</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>This diary project is up there as one of the most under-appreciated diaries that I can remember. I believe it to be a must-read, I really do. The presentation is just one small factor in all of this but the smaller pictures, the spacing, the left alignment make NN's diary a different one to digest. Spice is the variety of life after all.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Kayfabe-Breaking Segments Of The Year Award: <strong>Abstain</strong></p><p>

Comments: </p><p> </p><p>

Best New Writer Of The Year Award: <strong>DarEatWorld</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>First a confession - I am way, way behind in his SNP diary and I'm not sure I will ever find the time to catch up... but really, due to my negligence, this award to me is between him and Blaustein and considering the latter seems to have dropped off the face of the earth after his good WCW diary, Dar just edges it for me. </em></p><p> </p><p>

Most Improved Writer Of The Year Award: <strong>Uncrewed</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>This is a difficult award to nominate for but considering he's had a few stop starts, I am glad to see that Uncrewed has found his element with his latest project.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Match Write-ups Of The Year Award: <strong>The Final Countdown for WWF: The Golden Age...and beyond?</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>I have pretty much been ripping off the way he writes matches for the last two years or so.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Show Of The Year Award: <strong>Night of Champions from NoNeck's Guest Booker: Better Call Phil [Thunderverse]</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>MARCHENA! Yeah this show kicked ass.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Promos Of The Year Award: <strong>[CVerse 97] Hollyweird Grappling Company: The Vibert Era by Arwink</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>Not just for the promos but also the non-kayfabe stuff, it was all excellent.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Artist Section</p><p>

---</p><p>

Best Artist Of The Year Award: <strong>Shipshirt</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>This award could go to the one of many renderers and alt makers that do world class work but Shipshirt's renders just stand out the most to me. Thank you making my CZCW look kickass.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Mod-Maker Of The Year Award: <strong>Abstain</strong></p><p>

Comments: </p><p> </p><p>

Worker Section</p><p>

---</p><p>

Best Wrestler Of The Year Award: <strong>Ted DiBiase from The Final Countdown's WWF: The Golden Age...and beyond?</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>I won't spoil it all but DiBiase emerged as TFC's go-to guy and his writing of the Million Dollar Man, who would become his brightest star is what historical diaries are all about to me.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Tag Team Of The Year Award: <strong>The Bad Guys from The Final Countdown's WWF: The Golden Age...and beyond?</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>Hartflush are a close second. It's easy to write a tag team as kick-ass when they were awesome in real life but TFC had two user-created tag teams do battle for the tag titles at his biggest show of the year. I could tell he really enjoyed writing both of them.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Stable Of The Year Award: <strong>The Kings of Wrestling from Beejus' WCW '94: War of the Thrones</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>When you put it down on paper, the whole idea of the KoW should have been a bust. But for reasons you only know by reading, they really weren't a bust. In fact, they might have been written better than the real thing...</em></p><p> </p><p>

Rocky Maivia Wrestler Of The Year Award: <strong>Eric Eisen in Eisen-Verse's SWF: The Sins Of The Father</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>Probably my favourite character in the entire diary to be honest. I loathe the idea of him being mega-pushed but as GOD himself, Eisen has seen a career transition akin to INGOBERNABLES Tetsuya Naito and that's really really impressive.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Most Compelling Non-Wrestler Of The Year Award: <strong>Jerry Eisen in Eisen-Verse's SWF: The Sins Of The Father</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>You can't really write SWF without writing the Eisen family and E-V's latest iteration of them might be the most refreshing yet. Jerry appears to be a plain man but peel back the surface and you'll see that there's a whole lot more to him.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Match Of The Year Award: <strong>Luzbel vs. Green Doctor Jr. from “Noche de los Campeones” Episode 7 (from NoNeck's Guest Booker: Better Call Phil [Thunderverse])</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>What even was the finish to this?! A roller-coaster ride of a match that left me wanting more and questioning everything that I thought I knew to be true.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Feud Of The Year Award: <strong>Ted DiBiase vs. WWF from The Final Countdown's WWF: The Golden Age...and beyond?</strong></p><p>

Comments: <em>Once again, one of those that I won't spoil but it was a story that I think kept all of us guessing.</em></p>

I want to thank everyone for their nominations so far. I am hoping to get the main list updated within the next day or so. I also wanted to remind everyone that during this nomination stage nothing needs to get seconded. So if you see that a diary/artist/etc. has already been nominated, there is no need to nominate them/it again. It makes it a little easier for me if that doesn't happen for when I am updating the main post.

Comments: <em>All praise being to TFC where it should, but Anderz put together an awesome diary of his own in someone else's universe. I give him credit right here for some of his great promos from Flair and the Horsemen.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Artist Of The Year Award: Mootinie</p><p>

Comments: <em>He's my go-to man for a lot of the random images that I pull out in my diaries, and he did a ton of great cuts when he did his NJPW diary.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Mod-Maker Of The Year Award: Genadi</p><p>

Comments: <em>Come on, guys. I know the Mod Squad are treated like pariahs by a lot of people, but Genadi's fingerprints are all over TEW16 due to all the mods that have been released.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Graphic(alt/render/rerender) Of The Year Award: Abstain</p><p>

Comments: </p><p> </p><p>

Best Mod Of The Year Award: Rising Storms 2016</p><p>

Comments: <em>Yank really outdid himself this time around by improving one of the best mods that was on TEW13 with an extensive overhaul.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Worker Section</p><p>

Best Wrestler Of The Year Award: Scott Steiner in TheBigBad1013's WCW: The Quest for the Lost Glory</p><p>

Comments: <em>"Big Poppa Pump" was a beast all through this diary, on a rampage to try and get his World title back. I cheered him on the whole way, but TBB always had other plans.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Tag Team Of The Year Award: Totally Fantastic in Anderz's JCP: The Race to the Top [TGAAB]</p><p>

Comments: <em>It was a toss-up between Lex and Taylor or TFC's push of Demolition in TGAAB, but I went with this because TFC already had a team up for this nomination.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Stable Of The Year Award: nWo 2000 in Blodyxe's Rebooking Nitro's</p><p>

Comments: <em>A stable and diary THAT IS STILL GOING ON over on the 13 boards, nWo Silver has generally dominated the whole game with Bret Hart at it's helm. If you lost track of this one as of late, then go find it and catch back up!</em></p><p> </p><p>

Rocky Maivia Wrestler Of The Year Award: Honky Tonk Man in Anderz's JCP: The Race to the Top [TGAAB]</p><p>

Comments: <em>TFC left this wide open when he fired Honky, which turned him into a model worker and he became the greatest AWA champion of all time, baby.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Most Compelling Non-Wrestler Of The Year Award: Roddy Piper in Blodyxe's Rebooking Nitro's</p><p>

Comments: <em>Commissioner Piper was all over the map, and it was always fun.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Match Of The Year Award: Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair from WrestleMania VII in The Final Countdown's WWF: The Golden Age and Beyond</p><p>

Comments: <em>Just an incredible way to end a huge diary like that.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Best Feud Of The Year Award: The nWo Break-up in TheBigBad1013's WCW: The Quest for the Lost Glory</p><p>

Comments: <em>From the Outsiders splitting from Eric Bischoff to join up with Shawn Michaels to Shawn betraying the Outsiders to completely splinter the lone fragment of nWo that led to matches between the Clique, it was an awesome ride as the group just slowly faded further and further into the background of their own egos shouting at one another... just like it should have done in real life.</em></p>

Comments: One of the best '13 diaries, with consistent updates, terrific booking, great format and a solid ending. I voted for it three times for DOTM, but while I never recall it winning -- it was the best CVerse diary around for about a year on the forums. </p><p> </p><p>

Comments: He's the most consistent writer here, and long-term, his planning is brilliant. </p><p> </p><p>

Best Presentation Of The Year Award:<a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=536450" rel="external nofollow"> Beejus in Clash of the Titans: The Master Quest</a></p><p>

Comments: I think Beejus quietly revolutionized presentation in his work -- he's still at it in Hate The Game, but that hasn't been long enough for me to nominate him for -- yet. At this point, I still feel Master Quest is his best work.</p><p> </p><p>

Best Kayfake-Breaking Segments Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=534138" rel="external nofollow">Phil Vilbert in SWF: Sins of the Father</a></p><p>

Comments: His presentation and concepts are great -- along with his writing, and with a little fine-tuning, he'll get my nod for both next year -- what I've seen of 4C Thy Kingdom Come looks great. </p><p> </p><p>

Most Improved Writer Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=533609" rel="external nofollow">DAVEFAN95 with [C-Verse 2007] Dave: The Fight to Survive</a> and <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=537336" rel="external nofollow">Everything Happens for a Reason: The Farrah Hesketh Story</a></p><p>

Comments: Arn's diary-long quest ends here -- and the right choice, even if the game didn't rate it too well. The Unification Tournament at Starrcade was a terrific concept, and this show built upon it to perfection. </p><p> </p><p>

Best Promos Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=534847" rel="external nofollow">MrWolf101's Dark Pheonix Wrestling: A Woman Scorned </a></p><p>

Comments: I'm a sucker for music videos in diaries, and MrWolf101 does a great job utilizing them in his work. Everything feels "in-your-face" with the promos -- and with the concept, that's the way it should be. </p><p> </p><p>

Artist Section</p><p>

---</p><p>

Best Artist Of The Year Award: AydenReid</p><p>

Comments: I've watched his belts improve -- He's the best belt-maker on the board now, and he brings a unique feel to belt-making, which many makers were starting make feel stale.</p><p> </p><p>

Best Mod-Maker Of The Year Award: DerekB with <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=533579" rel="external nofollow">CornellVerse 1997</a> and <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=534757" rel="external nofollow">CV16X</a></p><p>

Comments: No one man has contributed more to mod-making than DerekB, with both his mods seeing wide use and both breaking new ground. Big fan of all his work. </p><p> </p><p>

Best Graphic(alt/render/rerender) Of The Year Award: willr0ck</p><p>

Comments: I've loved his take on Renders and his work with AydenReid on the Rock-Verse. He's an amazing talent -- looking forward to the eventual release. </p><p> </p><p>

Best Mod Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=536291" rel="external nofollow">ThunderVerse 2016 Diamond Edition</a></p><p>

Comments: Hard to argue against this fictional universe -- with consistent updates and a stable build, the Thunderverse team never lets me down, and all characters "feel" like they're from the same world -- only downside is I'm starting to recognize their great graphic work in my TEW game, and it doesn't feel right. </p><p> </p><p>

Cornellverse Diary Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=535413" rel="external nofollow">SNP – The Thistle in the Ashes</a> by DarEatWorld</p><p>

Comments: Enjoyed this since the beginning, and it’s gotten me to care about characters I knew nothing about coming in. Points for including the struggle of a booker who isn’t in love with the current product and has to put up with the wishes of their demented boss.</p><p> </p><p>

Mod Diary Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=535572" rel="external nofollow">WWF 1997: Anything Can Happen</a> by Andylion</p><p>

Comments: I thought about giving blaustein’s WCW diary a nod here as that is what got me coming back constantly to the board at the beginning, but Andylion deserves to be nominated for this diary that has grown and evolved over the course of almost a year of gameplay.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Writer Section</strong></p><p>

---</p><p>

Best Writer Of The Year Award: blaustein</p><p>

Comments: Here is where I can give blaustein some love. Constantly good posts that were done nearly every day, this writer’s WCW diary was the highlight on here for me for over two months. If you can make me care about KroniK, you can write.</p><p> </p><p>

Best Presentation Of The Year Award: blaustein for <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=534520&highlight=Blaustein" rel="external nofollow">Shane McMahon's WCW (2001)</a></p><p>

Comments: The diary I would have nominated has already been, so I’ll give it to my runner-up, who made crisp, clear entries with specialized formatting that was still easy to read on a phone.</p><p> </p><p>

Best Kayfabe-Breaking Segments Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=535664" rel="external nofollow">WCW: Dangerous Territory</a> by James Casey</p><p>

Comments: The backstage segments have been the strength of the WCW diary, and have been inventive in generating reader participation.</p><p> </p><p>

Best New Writer Of The Year Award: Dr_Avalanche</p><p>

Comments: I’m pretty sure this is his first foray into writing on here, and his QAW diary has been a joy to read. The initial decision to fast-forwarding two years really helped get this diary on solid footing to start out on, and several characters have been so well established that I feel invested in their success or failure.</p><p> </p><p>

Most Improved Writer Of The Year Award: kingjames</p><p>

Comments: Not sure the exact parameters of this award, but considering where this writer has come from their first try earlier in the year, I’d say they have definitely greatly improved.</p><p> </p><p>

Best Match Write-ups Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=534138&page=2" rel="external nofollow">SWF: Sins of the Father</a> by Eisen-verse</p><p>

Comments: Not sure if how new the style is, but enjoy the method of summarizing the action while still providing a hell of a lot of information.</p><p> </p><p>

Best Show Of The Year Award: <a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2191906&postcount=546" rel="external nofollow">Awesome Impact from SWF: Sins of the Father</a> by Eisen-verse</p><p>

Comments: Huge show that saw the debuts of Rocky Golden and Nick Champion in SWF, with Jack Bruce losing the ability to ever fight for the title again. Hard to top that.</p><p> </p><p>

Best Promos Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=536811" rel="external nofollow">AAA: The Revolution is Now</a> by kingjames </p><p>

Comments: So there are others diaries out there that have more extensive promos, but none have made me audibly laugh (in a good way) as much as this diary.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Artist Section</strong></p><p>

Comments: So I’m not too familiar with the artists on here, so don’t really feel able to properly nominate.</p><p> </p><p>

Comments: Been playing RisingStorms, so have to give a tip of the cap.</p><p> </p><p>

Best Graphic(alt/render/rerender) Of The Year Award: Abstain</p><p>

Comments: Honestly, I wouldn’t know where to begin.</p><p> </p><p>

Best Mod Of The Year Award: Real World Chronicles by Fleisch</p><p>

Comments: I would have nominated RisingStorms 2k16, but since that has already been nominated, I’ll give props to Fleisch for the mod that I see being used in a some diaries on here.</p><p> </p><p>

Comments: So many to choose from, but I’ll go with what to me is a unique take on a character that feels organic and dominates despite her small stature.</p><p> </p><p>

Best Tag Team Of The Year Award:<a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=534520&highlight=Blaustein" rel="external nofollow"> KroniK in Shane McMahon's WCW (2001)</a> by blaustein</p><p>

Comments: Do I think they’ll win? No. Did I enjoy them in this diary way more than I should have? Yes!</p><p> </p><p>

Best Stable Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=535413" rel="external nofollow">The Black Lions in SNP – The Thistle in the Ashes</a> by DarEatWorld</p><p>

Comments: Almost went with Circle of Fire here for the idea behind them, but the Black Lions (and mainly Riddick Jordan) have carried SNP in this diary.</p><p> </p><p>

Rocky Maivia Wrestler Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=536811" rel="external nofollow">Steph Blake in AAA: The Revolution is Now</a> by kingjames</p><p>

Comments: With Steph Blake being one of my least favorite people in the C-Verse, the fact that they are the best (and my most favorite part) of this diary is quite an accomplishment.</p><p> </p><p>

Most Compelling Non-Wrestler Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=536811" rel="external nofollow">Anne Stardust in AAA: The Revolution is Now</a> by kingjames</p><p>

Comments: Again, not exactly sure about the parameters of this award, as I was going to nominate Ric Flair in WCW: Dangerous Territory for his presentation in the backstage segments, but technically he still wrestles, so I’ll go with a tremendous character that isn’t the focus of the diary, but still looms large in the background.</p><p> </p><p>

Best Match Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2213423&postcount=156" rel="external nofollow">Chitose Ariwara vs Paige Croft at Scars and Stripes from QAW: Passing the Torch</a> by Dr_Avalanche</p><p>

Comments: So many run through my mind, but I’ll go more recent with Paige Croft finally being toppled for the QAW World Title in a match with a lot of moving parts but that had me on the edge of my seat while reading.</p><p> </p><p>

Best Feud Of The Year Award: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=534520&highlight=Blaustein" rel="external nofollow">Sean O’Haire vs Chuck(y) Palumbo in in Shane McMahon's WCW (2001)</a> by blaustein</p><p>

Comments: Enjoyed the hell out of this feud, and it led to some of the best promos in the diary. Gets props for feeling even and elevating both workers while having the right one come out on top.</p>

Diary Of The Year Section

---

Cornellverse Diary Of The Year Award: Eisen-verse's SWF: Sins of the Father

Comments: Eisen-verse never fails to dissapoint when it comes to SWF and in this diary, he is at the top of his game. If I had to choose one reason, it's his character development, it's top notch.

Mod Diary Of The Year Award: The Lloyd's WWE in 2016: Here we go (again)...

Comments: Much like Eisen-verse, Lloyd is at his best when he tackles one specific company, that company being WWE. Lloyd always manages to have good write-ups and great character work.

Writer Section

---

Best Writer Of The Year Award: 20LEgend

Comments: He has multiple diaries this year, but he always manages to tell a great story in each and every one of them.

Best Presentation Of The Year Award: Abstain

Comments:

Best Kayfake-Breaking Segments Of The Year Award: Bret Hart showing up at WCW Bash at the Beach 1996 in WCW '94: War of the Thrones.

Comments: It's not the fact that BRET "FREAKING" HART, the figurehead of the New Generation, showed up. It's also the fact that he showed up as a heel alongside Kevin Nash, Madusa, and with the WWF Intercontinental Championship!

Best New Writer Of The Year Award: DarEatWorld

Comments: His SNP diary was one of my contenders for C-Verse dynasty of the year. He always manages to tell a great story with minimalist presentation and I certainly commend him for that.

Best Match Write-ups Of The Year Award: The Final Countdown

Comments: TFC is someone who I look up when it comes to writing diaries, specifically his match write-ups. He always manages to get across what's happening in a match without going too overboard when it comes to needless detail.

Best Show Of The Year Award: WCW Bash at the Beach 1996 in WCW '94: War of the Thrones

Comments: The perfect show to close out a diary in my opinion. It wrapped up a bunch of loose ends and it also created a storyline that could of lead to potential future shows. This is what all diary enders should do.

Best Promos Of The Year Award: Zack Gibson in joemurphy's This Is Progress.

Comments: If you've never seen a Zack Gibson promo in PROGRESS, it's amazing. Joe perfectly captures a Zack Gibson promo and it will make you hate Gibson if you don't already.

Best Mod Of The Year Award: 1994: Clash of the Titans by Hive

Comments: It's a mod that perfectly capsulates the mid-90s. It inspired me, and many others, to create dynasties out of it, just because it is that realistic and that damn good.

Worker Section

---

Best Wrestler Of The Year Award: Ted DiBiase in TFC's WWF Golden Age & Beyond

Comments: TFC managed to write DiBiase in such a way that he actually out did the actual writers of the time. From DiBiase winning the WWF World Heavyweight Championship to losing it and taking control of the show, DiBiase will always be one of my favorite characters in any dynasty.

Most Compelling Non-Wrestler Of The Year Award: Dusty Rhodes in Beejus' WCW '94: War of the Thrones

Comments: Dusty was a good heel in his times with the KOW, but then he sadly passed away in 2015. After that, Beejus gave him an emotional send-off, but he did bring him back! Since he returned, Dusty was a house of fire with some good promos and good work with the rest of the roster.

Best Match Of The Year Award: The Wargames Match at WCW Bash at the Beach 1996 in WCW '94: War of the Thrones

Comments: Can you tell that I love this dynasty? This match provided a good send-off for the dynasty and even laid down ground work for future WCW booking. The way Beejus wrote Wargames matches in general were really good, but this one really stood out.
