</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">Opening the DVD was a backstage segment with </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>The Carnage Crew</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">, who were looking to kick off the show early by searching for Special K, muttering something about teaching “those rich raver punks” a lesson. But perhaps fortunately, Special K was nowhere to be found.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

A new segment with </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Samoa Joe</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> called “Samoa Joe’s Ring” kicks off with Joe talking about the effectiveness of his moves with some of the students from the ROH School. </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Oman Tortuga</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> is eager to help Joe, but quickly regrets that decision as Joe nearly chokes him out before he can get away.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

The first match of the night is underway as the “American Dragon” </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Bryan Danielson</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> takes on one half of the Briscoes, </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jay</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. A really entertaining back and forth match with both men trying to knock one another out with uppercut after uppercut. Danielson eventually gets the upperhand and makes Jay tap out to the Cattle Mutilation at 13:37. A great opener that made Jay look great heading into his ROH World Championship match.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Next is a DVD extra where </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Trent Acid</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> is seen catching up with </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jay Briscoe</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> after his match. Trent asks if he can get a championship shot when Jay or Mark wins the belt, but Jay quickly shoots it down, saying he wrestles whoever Cornette tells him to.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

It’s a Fight Without Honor that started all the way in September at Glory By Honor 2. It was a hard fought battle as </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Xavier</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> was backed up against the wall by </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>John Walters</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">, a man out for revenge. Neither man wasted anytime bringing out the steel chairs, ladders, and tables to really inflict some serious damage. During the match, for a reason yet to be determined, </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Prince Nana</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> came down and watched most of the action from ringside. As the match went on, Nana’s motivates became clear, sliding in a larger ladder for Xavier. It came back to bite him as Walters hit a lungblower off of it to seal the deal...until Nana pulled the referee out of the ring! The match finally came to a conclusion when Walters hit a sunset flip powerbomb through a ladder in the corner for the win at 18:44. Hell of a match. After the match, Prince Nana entered and announced he was forming a new faction: The Embassy and that Xavier would be the first member. Xavier and Walters shook hands after the match, both men looking for a clean slate from their dealings with The Prophecy.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

The finals for the Field of Honor was up next with the winner of Block A, </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Matt Stryker</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">, taking on the winner of Block B, </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>BJ Whitmer</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. These two men had previously tied in their qualifiers for the Field of Honor, but ROH management was so impressed, they put both men in anyways. A real clash as Stryker’s technical style went up against Whitmer’s...less than technical style. The match gets ugly as both men showcase just how much this tournament means to them. Stryker even gets on Whitmer’s level with a figure-four around the ringpost that nearly gets him disqualified. However in 18:08, it’s the Strykerlock that forces BJ to tap. Celebrating his win, the entire ROH locker room empties to help Matt celebrate.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Pinning the champion in a tag match back in November gave </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Mark Briscoe</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> this championship opportunity. </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Samoa Joe</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> let Mark know just how he felt about the beatdown the Briscoes gave him not that long ago. Throughout the match (and out of the referee’s view), </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jay</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> helps his brother out by saving him from an Ole Kick and giving him some pep talks. Though, the pep talk didn’t last long with a tope from Joe to take Jay out of the equation. There are a few close calls for the ROH World Champion, but a couple of well placed knees and a follow-up Coquina Clutch at 14:46 gives Joe his 12th title defense.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

During the intermission, </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>The Great Muta</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> is seen helping </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>The Ring Crew Expres</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">s fix up the ring and prep it for the second half. It’s time for the first ROH vs. AJPW match. </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>CM Punk</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Colt Cabana</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> take on All Japan’s </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Tumeric Storm</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">, consisting of </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Tomokai Honma</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Kazushi Miyamoto</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. Right off the bat, Punk goes at Honma, trying to open up the scars across his forehead. The match is fairly odd, with Punk being serious and Colt trying to get the crowd to laugh. The latter half of the match really picks up with everyone hitting their finishers. Colt sends Miyamoto out of the ring and CM Punk hits the Pepsi Plunge at 16:35 on Tomokai to give ROH the 1-0 lead. Punk gets on the mic real quick after the match to declare war on Daniels and The Prophecy.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Rating: ***1/4</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Technically, two ex-WCW wrestlers go at it next. </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>AJ Styles</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> faces the man who took the very first Styles Clash, </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Kaz Hayashi</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. It gets a little sloppy here and there, but there are some pretty sweet moves that balance it out. There was a killer back handspring kick from Hayashi that’s worth mentioning. Kaz rolls through a Styles Clash attempt, but the second one’s the charm, giving AJ the win at 14:49. ROH 2-0.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Rating: **1/2</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Any beef between </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Homicide</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Low Ki</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> appears to be solved, with Ki in ‘Cide’s corner with </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Julius Smokes</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. Homicide looks to kick off the match early with a suicide dive, but </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Satoshi Kojima</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> quickly picks up a chair to prevent that from happening. Kojima really gets over with the crowd after explaining to the ref that he’s “Japanese, damnit!” as his excuse for not breaking his choke on Homicide. The match goes on and Homicide is finally able to hit his suicida tope, but Satoshi catches him with a belly-to-belly suplex, dropping ‘Cide right on his head. Worth noting that Homicide was legit knocked out at this point, but continued on. Satoshi has to adapt to this and the match quickly comes to an end after both men trade lariats back and forth. It’s Kojima’s second lariat that puts Homicide down at 13:12. AJPW finally gets on the board, 2-1.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

A quick cut to the back and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jerry Lynn</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> is putting over his excitement for the upcoming Pure Wrestling Championship. When that's happening, I have no idea.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

The main event of the evening is an All Japan Tag Titles match, with </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>The Great Muta</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Arashi</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> putting their straps on the line. </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Christopher Daniels</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Dan Maff</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> take on the challenge with </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Allison Danger</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> at ringside. Arashi makes throwing Dan Maff around the ing look stupidly easy. It takes Daniels help for Maff to even move Arashi. Both members of The Prophecy are careful once Muta enters the ring, weary of the green mist. Danger gets herself involved, preventing Muta from hitting a moonsault. A distracted ref allows for Maff to enter the ring with a chair, but gets a faceful of red mist instead! <strong>Samoa Joe</strong></p><p>

A competitor worthy of carrying the ROH World Championship with an impressive 12 title defenses in under a year, after capturing it from Xavier back in March of 2003. Joe welcomes any and all challenges, challenges that he seems to put down with great ease. Joe is truly on the verge of becoming an unstoppable force in ROH, if he isn’t already. Nothing’s for certain, but one thing to know is that Joe will have a laundry list of top notch athletes looking to take him down in 2004. And the beast of a champion welcomes them all with open arms.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/6QZvhrY.png</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

“American Dragon” <span style="color:#d30300;"><strong>Bryan Danielson</strong></span></p><p>

Whenever the discussion about who exactly is the face of ROH comes up, it’d be a crime to pick anyone other than the “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson. He’s been with the company since day one and one could say he’s the human embodiment of the Code of Honor. Most of Bryan’s 2003 was spent touring with New Japan while making the occasional appearance stateside, but make no mistake, ROH is still very much the home of the American Dragon. With his schedule in Japan starting to wind down, Danielson is looking to settle back in with the company and more importantly, hunting down the elusive ROH World Championship.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/9S4zawG.png</span></p><div style="text-align:right;"><p>

<strong>The Prophecy</strong></p><p>

Of course, you can’t talk about people who have been with ROH since the first show without mentioning Christopher Daniels. If Danielson is the embodiment of the Code of Honor, Daniels is the exact opposite. An impressive wrestler without a doubt, but it’s a shame he has to resort to questionable tactics. Having formed The Prophecy back in 2002, most of the original flock has fled and all that reminds is Dan Maff and Allison Danger. Recently, BJ Whitmer has joined after confessing to the attack of CM Punk’s then-girlfriend, Lucy. Though, Whitmer’s arrival brings strength along with tension between the members.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/FX4p1Qb.png</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<strong><span style="color:#d30300;">The Second City Saints</span></strong></p><p>

The Chicago trio consisting of Ace Steel, Colt Cabana, and CM Punk have the ability to take over the show at any given moment. Though, mostly Punk. One often wonders how the seriousness of CM Punk meshes with the goofiness of Colt Cabana and the answer is: We have no idea. Maybe it’s the magic of their trainer Ace Steel, who seems to be a mixture of both men. Up until recently, Punk was on a tear, determined to figure out who was behind the attack and disappearance of ex-girlfriend Lucy. With Whitmer’s confession, the Second City Saints, but mainly CM Punk, now have a target heading into 2004. Raven was a target of Punk’s and we all know how that turned out for him.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/gga1ktu.png</span></p><div style="text-align:left;"><p>

<strong>The Briscoes</strong></p><p>

Ever since Jim Cornette offered his services to the brothers, the current ROH Tag Team Champions, Jay and Mark Briscoe have been on an absolute tear. While their reign has been short, they’ve beaten the likes of AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Christopher Daniels in tag title defenses. In singles competition, the brothers both earned a chance at the ROH World Championship, the one thing Jim Cornette wants for the brothers more than anything. While Mark came up short, there’s no doubt he could end up back in contention in 2004. On the flip side, Jay is preparing for his own title shot to kick off the year.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/Y9kQcP1.png</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<strong><span style="color:#d30300;">AJ Styles</span></strong></p><p>

The injury of The Amazing Red cut their ROH Tag Team Championship reign short, but his partner’s injury didn’t slow down AJ one bit. Becoming the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, earning multiple ROH World and Tag Team Champion shots, it’s easy to say 2003 was the year of AJ Styles. Though, he’d argue otherwise until he’s got the ROH World Championship around his waist. As if that wasn’t enough, AJ Styles also picked up a protege along the way, Jimmy Rave. While the relationship has been a bit...rocky as of late, AJ’s advice has been invaluable, it’s just all up to Rave to put it together.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/au7wl7s.png</span></p><div style="text-align:right;"><p>

<strong>The Embassy</strong></p><p>

The child of Prince Nana, a man with an seemingly endless amount wealth due to his royalty status. Not much is known about The Embassy at the moment or what exactly their purpose is, but Nana’s already got a solid first recruit under his wing in the name of Xavier, a former ROH World Champion. The faction is only in its infancy, but with Xavier as the first member and Prince Nana at the helm, there’s truly an endless amount possibilities for The Embassy for 2004. Rumor has it that Prince Nana has already picked some new names to scout out and possibly throw some cash around to “influence” outsiders.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/H2xdhCz.png</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#d30300;"><strong>Homicide</strong></span></p><p>

Samoa Joe may have been the MVP of 2003 for ROH, but Homicide was the runner up. If you didn’t know who Homicide was before, you certainly knew who he was after 2003. Homicide’s year started with a riot at the One Year Anniversary Show and ended with him getting knocked out against Satoshi Kojima, only to continue the fight in a valiant display. Not to mention his blood feud against Steve Corino and on top of that all, a non-title victory over Samoa Joe. His relationship with the injured Low Ki and Julius Smokes have come into question recently, but it seems like any trouble has been buried.</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/pBc7Iq5.png</span></p><div style="text-align:left;"><p>

<strong>Matt Stryker</strong></p><p>

The textbook definition of an underdog, a fan favorite, even a locker room favorite. On paper, Stryker may have had a very pedestrian 2003, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Win-loss record aside, it was the Field of Honor tournament where Stryker really shined. He might have missed his true calling back in the World of Sport era, but we believe that when the Pure Wrestling Championship is revealed, it’ll make up for that. And who knows, Matt’s respectable personality might have just earned him some favors outside of the Pure Wrestling Championship.</p></div><p></p><p></div></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

It was a huge success and we thank everyone for coming out to see it. We also send a huge thank you to AJPW and hopefully we’ll see them again down the line! In this week’s edition of Locker Room Scoops, we’ll recap the show and talk about our first show of the new year.</p><p> </p><p> - Perhaps the biggest thing to come out of the show was the reveal of who attacked <strong>Lucy</strong>! <strong>CM Punk</strong> demanded answers and he got it, in the unlikely form of <strong>BJ Whitmer</strong>. But given the history between these two, maybe it’s not all too shocking? On 1/10, Punk will get his chance at revenge against <strong>The Prophecy</strong> along with the rest of the <strong>Second City Saints</strong> in a six man tag match that’s bound to create some chaos.</p><p> </p><p> - Having defeated <strong>Mark Briscoe</strong> back at Final Battle 2003, <strong>Samoa Joe</strong> has now earned two opportunities at the ROH Tag Titles against <strong>The Briscoes</strong>. Joe went ahead and announced his partner as none other than the “American Dragon” <strong>Bryan Danielson</strong>! If that’s not enough to get you in a seat, we don’t know what will! If Joe and Danielson win on 1/10, The Briscoes get their rematch on 1/29.</p><p> </p><p> - Some more chaos is expected as <strong>The Carnage Crew</strong> team up with <strong>The Ring Crew Express</strong> to take on Special K. We’re not sure which members of <strong>Special K</strong> will take part in the match, but they have told us they’ve got some kind of “insurance policy” that will guarantee them a victory. We’re not sure what that means, but it doesn’t sound good for their opponents!</p><p> </p><p> - But unfortunately, it’s not all good news here in ROH. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to delay the reveal of the Pure Wrestling Championship, but we promise that we’re doing everything in our power to make the reveal one to remember! To make up for the wait, we’ll have a Three Rope Break match between Field of Honor winner <strong>Matt Stryker</strong> and <strong>Chad Collyer</strong>.</p><p> </p><p> - The two friends from Michigan face off for the first time in singles action against one another. You usually see them tagging together, but on 1/10, <strong>Alex Shelley</strong> and <strong>Jimmy Jacobs</strong> are set to square off in a match to remember.</p><p> </p><p> - On the topic of tag team action, <strong>AJ Styles</strong> and his protege <strong>Jimmy Rave</strong> take on the former ROH Tag Team Champions, <strong>The Backseat Boyz</strong>. A match that AJ hopes will provide some much needed experience for Rave and one to help smooth out their relationship. The Backseat Boyz won’t make it easy though as they look to get back in the ROH Tag Titles hunt.</p><p> </p><p> - Other action will see a Four Corner Survival match involving <strong>Chris Sabin</strong>, <strong>Josh Daniels</strong>, <strong>Rainman</strong>, and <strong>Caprice Coleman</strong>. Each man will look to get a victory to hopefully get some more looks here in ROH. Also on 1/10, <strong>Homicide</strong> is set for action. Thankfully, Homicide doesn’t have any lingering effects after getting knocked out against Satoshi Kojima and he’ll look to prove it against his opponent, <strong>Sonjay Dutt</strong>. A match you don’t want to miss!</p><p> </p><p> - Tickets for “<strong>The Battle Lines Are Drawn</strong>” go on sale in just a few days, so make sure to get yours before they sell out! Also be sure to check back at the same time next week for information regarding the 1/29 show. We here at ROH wish our fans and wrestlers are happy New Year!</p><p> </p><p> - Here’s the full card below</p><p> • Singles Match: Alex Shelley vs. Jimmy Jacobs</p><p> • Four Corner Survival: Caprice Coleman vs. Chris Sabin vs. Josh Daniels vs. Rainman</p><p> • Eight Man Tag Match: Special K vs. The Carnage Crew & The Ring Crew Express</p><p> • Singles Match: Homicide vs. Sonjay Dutt</p><p> • Tag Team Match: The Backseat Boyz vs. AJ Styles & Jimmy Rave</p><p> • Three Rope Break Match: Chad Collyer vs. Matt Stryker</p><p> • ROH Tag Title Match: The Briscoes © vs. Bryan Danielson & Samoa Joe</p><p> • Six Man Tag Match: The Second City Saints (CM Punk, Colt Cabana, and Ace Steel) vs. The Prophecy (BJ Whitmer, Christopher Daniels, Dan Maff) w/ Allison Danger</p></div><p></p><p></div></p><p> </p><p> <div style="max-width:700px;background-color:#da0001;border-style:solid;border-color:black;border-width:1px";"><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Locker Room Scoops</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">- Week Of 1/6</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> - We’re just a few days away from <strong>The Battle Lines Are Drawn</strong> and if you haven’t bought your tickets already, hurry while they last! We’re also happy to announce the name for our 1/29 show, now officially known as “<strong>The Last Stand</strong>”. Named after <strong>Samoa Joe</strong>’s last encounter with <strong>The Briscoes</strong> regarding the ROH Tag Titles for the time being.</p><p> </p><p> - Depending on the outcome of the 1/10 show, <strong>The Briscoes</strong> will either defend their ROH Tag Titles against <strong>Samoa Joe</strong> and a yet to be announced partner or they’ll get their rematch against Joe and <strong>Bryan Danielson</strong>. Regardless of the outcome, we can guarantee it’ll be a match to remember. We also hear that <strong>Jim Cornette</strong> will be in The Briscoes’ corner on 1/29 as well.</p><p> </p><p> - We’re getting closer to making an official announcement regarding the Pure Wrestling Championship, but we’ve still got some minor details to iron out before we can say anything. We can say this though, we are 100% confident you’ll love it! In the meantime, we hope another Three Rope Break match can hold over the ROH faithful! And no better way than watching <strong>Alex Shelley</strong> take on <strong>John Walters</strong>!</p><p> </p><p> - <strong>Homicide</strong> prepares for a challenge against <strong>Chad Collyer</strong>. Lately, Homicide has been determined to get the ROH World Championship after he sent rival Steve Corino out of ROH. No better way to get recognized than taking on a technical wizard in Chad Collyer. It’ll be a clash of styles, but we know just how exciting that’ll be!</p><p> </p><p> - More Michigan natives are set to face one another as <strong>Chris Sabin</strong> faces <strong>Jimmy Jacobs</strong>. Sabin’s been nothing, but impressive in his short time with ROH. He’ll be looking to pick up the ROH World Championship with us and the X-Division Championship with our friends at NWA-TNA. Though, we make it sound easy, but Jimmy Jacobs is going to give Sabin a fight he won’t forget.</p><p> </p><p> - While they haven’t entered a Fight Without Honor territory yet, <strong>The Carnage Crew</strong> and <strong>Special K</strong> are set for a no DQ match that you won’t want to miss. Especially with the backup The Carnage Crew is bringing with them, their good friend <strong>Justin Credible</strong>! Though, we can only assume whatever Special K’s “insurance policy” is will be a part of this one.</p><p> </p><p> - Keeping <strong>Special K</strong> in mind, one of their more promising members steps up to be a part of a Four Corner Survival match. <strong>Hydro</strong> will have to take on <strong>Slyk Wager Brown</strong>, former ROH Champion <strong>Xavier</strong>, and AJ Styles’ protege <strong>Jimmy Rave</strong>. For Jimmy, this will be his ultimate chance to shine, but with <strong>April Hunter</strong>, <strong>Prince Nana</strong>, and whatever Special K members are ringside, he’ll have his hands full. Also worth seeing if anything new develops with <strong>The Embassy</strong>.</p><p> </p><p> - The amazing <strong>Jack Evans</strong> returns to ROH for his toughest challenge yet against Second City Saint member, <strong>CM Punk</strong>. We know that CM Punk is bound to have his hands full after the 1/10 show, but he’s hungry for the ROH World Championship and a big win here could get him back on track. Unfortunately for Punk, he could very well have a target on his back heading into this one, but we promise we’ll do our best to enact the Code of Honor.</p><p> </p><p> - Also in action, England’s own <strong>Nigel McGuinness</strong> takes on NWA Wildside’s own <strong>Caprice Coleman</strong> as well. Make sure to pick up your tickets for <strong>The Battle Lines Are Drawn</strong> and <strong>The Last Stand</strong> as soon as possible! We look forward to see you soon!</p><p> </p><p> - Here’s the full card below</p><p> • Three Rope Break Match: Alex Shelley vs. John Walters</p><p> • Singles Match: Caprice Coleman vs. Nigel McGuinness</p><p> • Singles Match: Chris Sabin vs. Jimmy Jacobs</p><p> • Four Corner Survival: Hydro vs. Jimmy Rave vs. Slyk Wagner Brown vs. Xavier</p><p> • No DQ Six Man Tag Match: The Carnage Crew & Justin Credible vs. Special K</p><p> • Singles Match: Homicide vs. Chad Collyer</p><p> • Singles Match: CM Punk vs. Jack Evans</p><p> • ROH Tag Title Match: The Briscoes vs. Bryan Danielson/??? & Samoa Joe</p></div><p></div></p><p> </p><p> Quick Predictions</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43021" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>The Battle Lines Are Drawn<p> • Singles Match: Alex Shelley vs. Jimmy Jacobs</p><p> • Four Corner Survival: Caprice Coleman vs. Chris Sabin vs. Josh Daniels vs. Rainman</p><p> • Eight Man Tag Match: Special K vs. The Carnage Crew & The Ring Crew Express</p><p> • Singles Match: Homicide vs. Sonjay Dutt</p><p> • Tag Team Match: The Backseat Boyz vs. AJ Styles & Jimmy Rave</p><p> • Three Rope Break Match: Chad Collyer vs. Matt Stryker</p><p> • ROH Tag Title Match: The Briscoes © vs. Bryan Danielson & Samoa Joe</p><p> • Six Man Tag Match: The Second City Saints (CM Punk, Colt Cabana, and Ace Steel) vs. The Prophecy (BJ Whitmer, Christopher Daniels, Dan Maff) w/ Allison Danger</p><p> </p><p> The Last Stand</p><p> • Three Rope Break Match: Alex Shelley vs. John Walters</p><p> • Singles Match: Caprice Coleman vs. Nigel McGuinness</p><p> • Singles Match: Chris Sabin vs. Jimmy Jacobs</p><p> • Four Corner Survival: Hydro vs. Jimmy Rave vs. Slyk Wagner Brown vs. Xavier</p><p> • No DQ Six Man Tag Match: The Carnage Crew & Justin Credible vs. Special K</p><p> • Singles Match: Homicide vs. Chad Collyer</p><p> • Singles Match: CM Punk vs. Jack Evans</p><p> • ROH Tag Title Match: The Briscoes vs. Bryan Danielson/??? & Samoa Joe</p></div></blockquote>

I like how you're formatting this. Looks good.

Thanks! Finding a nice format to help make the writing process easier was mandatory or I'd burn out. It looking nice is just a bonus!

Glad to have you back!

<p>I'm a sucker for using different "documents" to tell a diary story. I'm going to give a few predictions when I get home!</p><p> </p><p>

One minor comment - I love the different color text boxes, but the red text box is really bright red, and it actually makes it hard for me to read. I totally understand the choice since it's RoH red, but maybe a less color saturated red might be a bit less harsh on the eyes?</p><p> </p><p>

I'm glad I caught this diary early in its lifespan. Looking forward to seeing where this goes!</p>

It’s time for another edition of “</span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Samoa Joe</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">’s Ring” with special guest “American Dragon” </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Bryan Danielson</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. Most of the segment is spent with these two showcasing the moves they’re going to unleash on The Briscoes on the unfortunate ROH students. They jaw back and forth, but the segment comes to a close when Danielson mentions he’ll shake Joe’s hand before and after he takes his ROH World Championship, when the time’s right of course.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

It’s show time and the opener is </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Alex Shelley</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> taking on his longtime friend, </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jimmy Jacobs</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. The match was back and forth for a good chunk, these two showing off how well they know one another in the ring. Both man shows off a variety of moves including some odd looking submissions and exciting high flying moves. Jacobs tries going for a Contra Code, but Alex is able to get him off balanced, countering it into a backdrop. Shelley quickly locked in his Border City Stretch to pick up a win at 13:29. After the match, the two friends shook hands and hugged it out.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Rainman was kind of the odd man out in this match, not much technical ability or high flying, but he made every move look brutal. There was a huge spinebuster from him on Caprice Coleman and I was confident that he killed the man. The usual finisher fest occurred with Sabin standing on top after a Cradle Shock to Coleman at 15:10 to get the win.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

A quick break from the action for “Good Times, Great Memories” with your host, </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Colt Cabana</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. Back from the break, it’s time for the big eight man tag team match. As you could imagine, calling it a cluster of a match wouldn’t be doing it any justice. A really entertaining match is up next. </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Homicide</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">, a man who certainly seems to be on a mission, goes toe-to-toe with </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Sonjay Dutt</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. What’s really interesting to note is that Homicide is really shining in the technical department. Nothing too special, but he’s working the basics. A nice counter to Sonjay’s amazing aerial abilities he showcases in the X-Division. But you can’t have a Homicide match if it doesn’t break down into an ugly brawl near the end, a bit of a surprise to see Dutt hold his own. At 15:00, ‘Cide gets the pinfall after a stiff lariat. Really happy to see Homicide looking healthy in this one too.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Some standard tag team action as </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>The Backseat Boyz</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">, former ROH Tag Team Champions, look to get back into their groove. But it’s been a struggle for the duo. Lot of the match sees them making mistakes due to miscommunication, a nice act. Despite their inexperience, they do manage to get a fast one over </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Trent Acid</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Johnny Kashmere</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. Rave gets the Backseat Driver, but a blind tag by AJ allowed for him to clear Acid out of the ring and pin Kashmere with a Styles Clash at 17:38 for a win. Styles has to help a wounded Rave out of the ring, but gives him some words of encouragement as they head off to the back.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

As the crowd settles back in, a Three Rope Break match welcomes everyone back from intermission. ROH is trying to hammer in these “Pure Wrestling” rules for their new division, putting their own spin on the X-Division perhaps. You couldn’t have picked better guys to kick off the division though, as </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Matt Stryker</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Chad Collyer</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">, who are very familiar with one another, put on a technical masterpiece. They quickly burn through their first rope breaks and really sell their regret about it, adding some heat to the match with the crowd. They eventually use up all of their breaks and there’s a pretty rad sight with Collyer trying to crawl outside of the ring to break up a Strykerlock, but taps out at 18:58 before he can reach the outside. The men shake hands and get a round of applause from the fans. Promising sign for this concept.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

By the time the semi-main event rolls around, the ROH crowd is buzzing with excitement as everyone makes their entrance. </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>The Briscoes</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> successfully defend their titles against </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Samoa Joe</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and ‘American Dragon’ </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Bryan Danielson</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> in about 21:19. It’s a real hard fought battle which nearly sees everyone almost getting disqualified with their refusal to break up chokes and other breaks. I don’t think anyone hits a European uppercut better than Danielson by the way. Much like the team of Styles/Rave earlier in the night, miscommunication plays a big part of the match between Joe and Bryan. Even a showcase where they try to one-up the other with some chops on </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jay Briscoe</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. After the match, Joe shoves Danielson, blaming him for their loss, and Danielson quickly shoves him back, leading to an intense staredown, neither man moving an inch until the referee has to separate them.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

1. Vacant </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

2. Matt Stryker</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

3. AJ Styles</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

4. Homicide</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

5. Mark Briscoe</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

The DVD opens with </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Homicide</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> in the locker room, his head hung low. </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Gary Michael Cappetta</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> brings </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Julius Smokes</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> along with him and they try to talk with ‘Cide, to cut a promo about his upcoming match, but Homicide just brushes them off and says that he “needs time to think”, leaving behind a confused GMC and Smokes.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

</span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Samoa Joe</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> welcomes the ROH students back for another “Samoa Joe’s Ring”. This time, he spends most of the session running down The Briscoes and Jim Cornette, calling them all cowards. He especially makes a point to mock Cornette for not showing up at </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>The Battle Lines Are Drawn</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. That’s not all as he brings up how he beat Cornette behind closed doors back in November and shows exactly what he did to an unlucky student to close the segment.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Fighting and pointing fingers is still running rampant in </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>The Prophecy</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> as </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Maff</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Whitmer</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> are still at it. The absence of Daniels is noticeable as </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Allison Danger</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> has to break the two up yet again. They straighten up to cut a promo, Maff mentioning that what Punk did to Daniels is only going to fuel him. When the promo ends, Dan and BJ go right back to fighting much to the dismay of Allison.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

First match of the night, a Three Rope Break match. The match earlier in the month was a success and the crowd seemed pretty excited for this one. While </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Alex Shelley</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>John Walters</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> weren’t as entertaining, they still put together a pretty good match. Like the last match, they both had a spot where they wasted a rope break early on and looked pissed off doing it so early in the match. The match came to an end at 15:36 after a Hurricane DDT forced Shelley to use his last rope break and a follow up Boston crab made him tap.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

We’re not at ringside long, but we are taken to an unusual location. The home of </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Christopher Daniels</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">, who is sporting a neck brace. He tells his Prophecy not to fight over his injury, claiming that the “tantrum-throwing CM Punk” was the only one they needed to fight. Daniels makes it clear that he’s not sure when he’ll return, but when he does, he’ll strike down Punk, promising to show a side of Daniels that no one has seen yet.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

A fun match that was easily won by </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Nigel McGuinness</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. His technical prowess prevents </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Caprice Coleman</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> from getting much offense in as McGuinness keeps him grounded. Nothing too impressive, but the influence of the World of Sport is fun to see in Nigel’s offense. At 10:04, a quick roll up catches Caprice off guard and gives Nigel his first victory of the new year.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

As the wrestlers clear out, the fans are treated to a LIVE edition of “Good Times, Great Memories” with </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Colt Cabana</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. He spends a good portion of the show doing some standup, mixing up wrestling humor with your typical observational humor. Eventually, he pokes fun at the ring which allows him to introduce </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Marcos</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Dunn</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> of </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>The Ring Crew Express</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. But before the interview can get underway, </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Dan Maff</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>BJ Whitmer</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> come down to the ring, looking to get their hands on Colt. However, they get distracted by the Ring Crew and allows for Cabana to escape. Unfortunately for Marcos and Dunn, they get destroyed. Maff continues to voice his displeasure at Whitmer.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

A fun Four Corner Survival match is up next once the ring clears out. It seemed like everyone had someone ringside with the exception of </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jimmy Rave</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">, his mentor elsewhere. </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>The Embassy</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> gets off to the right foot as </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Xavier</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> is able to get a pin on </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Slyk Wagner Brown</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> thanks to the help of </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Prince Nana</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> at 15:07. Most of the match is spent outside with all kinds of weapons being used. Most notably, Credible using a trash can to knock out all four members of Special K. Adding to the chaos, a late arrival from </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Abyss</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> sends </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>DeVito</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Loc</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> through a table and onto a trash can respectively. This feud is probably still far from over.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Jumping into intermission with a </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jim Cornette</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> promo with </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>The Briscoes</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> lurking behind him. Nana addresses the camera, telling everyone that he wasn’t just out there for moral support, but to take a look at a new talent. One who “almost” put up as good a fight as Xavier did. He doesn’t name any names, but there’s not a whole lot of people he could be talking about.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

A surprisingly quick match as </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Homicide</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> gets another win with a heavy emphasis on his technical side at 11:53. Jack spends some time goofing around and dancing, only pissing off Punk, but anytime he tried getting his hands on Evans, a quick strike would keep him at bay. Once the match really gets going, Punk tries his best to hold down Evan. But it’s not an easy task as Evans was able to springboard and dive off of everything! The ropes, the turnbuckles, the ring apron. CM Punk almost couldn’t keep up. And it’s not until </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Colt Cabana</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> distracted Evans that allowed Punk to get a big Pepsi Plunge for the win at 18:43. His WWE contract ended a few weeks prior to the show, but I don’t think anyone saw this coming. It’s a great homecoming for him as he and Joe work through The Briscoes. Some great action with Joe throwing Jay and Mark around for Spanky to dive onto. He does admit defeat though and says he looks forward to breaking Jay in his title defense against him. But speaking of ROH management, Joe goes ahead and issues a challenge to The Briscoes. “When, not if” he beats Jay, he’ll defend his World Championship against them both to finish off their feud with an added stipulation: Steel cage match!</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

It was great seeing all of our ROH faithful out in attendance. Make sure to pick up <strong>The Battle Lines Are Drawn</strong> and <strong>The Last Stand</strong> on DVD if you weren’t able to attend, you don’t want to miss out of the action! And speaking of action, we’ve got plenty coming in just a few days on 2/14, it’s our <strong>Second Anniversary Show</strong>!</p><p> </p><p> - And with that, we’re happy to finally reveal our plans for the Pure Wrestling Championship! Eight men will compete in a one night tournament to be crowned ROH’s first Pure Wrestling Champion. The first match of the first round will see Field of Honor winner <strong>Matt Stryker</strong> taking on <strong>John Walters</strong>.</p><p> </p><p> - Adding some international spin, the always fantastic <strong>Doug Williams</strong> returns to ROH to take part in the tournament and his opponent will be the Second City Saint, <strong>CM Punk</strong>. This first time matchup is one you won’t want to miss.</p><p> </p><p> - Joining his fellow countryman in the tournament, <strong>Nigel McGuinness</strong> will take on <strong>Jimmy Rave</strong>. A proper test for both men who are looking to get some strong footing in ROH and in the case of Rave, he’ll want to make his mentor proud.</p><p> </p><p> - <strong>Jerry Lynn</strong> and <strong>AJ Styles</strong> will be the final match in the tournament and it’ll be one to remember. You may remember the Best of Three Series these two had back in NWA-TNA and we can guarantee this match will be on par with those. We know all eight men in this tournament won’t disappoint and we’re looking forward to see who else steps up over the year for the belt.</p><p> </p><p> - Breaking away from the tournament talk, we <strong>Samoa Joe</strong> come short in his two attempts to capture the ROH Tag Titles last month. And there’s no days off for the champ, as he’s setting up to defend his ROH World Championship against <strong>Jay Briscoe</strong>. Now, at the end of The Last Stand, Joe sent out a challenge to <strong>The Briscoes</strong> and we’re excited to say the challenge has been accepted. So if Samoa Joe defends his title at the Second Anniversary Show, he’ll go on to challenge Jay and <strong>Mark Briscoe</strong> in a steel cage at the show after.</p><p> </p><p> - Last month, we saw <strong>Special K</strong> harass and beat <strong>The Carnage Crew</strong> at every opportunity. But <strong>DeVito</strong> and <strong>Loc</strong> had the number game against them, this month, they’re bringing in a friend to help even the score. On top of <strong>Justin Credible</strong>, they’ve brought in, the one, the only, the homicidal, suicidal, genocidal....death–defying maniac himself, <strong>Sabu</strong>!</p><p> </p><p> - Still trying to expand the influence of <strong>The Embassy</strong>, <strong>Prince Nana</strong> has announced an open challenge to come out and take on <strong>Xavier</strong>. Anyone from the roster could accept the challenge or perhaps someone from the outside, we’re don’t know who it’ll be, but we’re excited!</p><p> </p><p> - Unfortunately, it’s not all good news coming out of the ROH camp. During his tag match, <strong>Trent Acid</strong> suffered a small liver laceration and unfortunately, he’ll have to miss out this month due to that, but he’ll be back in action soon enough. In his return match, <strong>Spanky</strong> cracked his sternum and will also have to miss the Second Anniversary Show as a result. We wish both men a speedy recovery.</p><p> </p><p> - That's all we've got for this week, fans. Make sure to pick up last month's shows on DVD and get your tickets for the <strong>Second Anniversary Show</strong> while you still can. We can't wait to see you on 2/14!</p><p> </p><p> - Here’s a full rundown of the card</p><p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Round #1): John Walters vs. Matt Stryker</p><p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Round #1): CM Punk vs. Doug Williams</p><p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Round #1): Jimmy Rave vs. Nigel McGuinness</p><p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Round #1): AJ Styles vs. Jerry Lynn</p><p> • No DQ Eight Man Tag Match:, The Carnage Crew, Justin Credible, and Sabu vs. Special K</p><p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Semi-Finals): ??? vs. ???</p><p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Semi-Finals): ??? vs. ???</p><p> • Prince Nana Open Challenge: Xavier vs. ???</p><p> • ROH World Championship Match: Samoa Joe © vs. Jay Briscoe</p><p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Finals): ??? vs. ???</p></div><p></p><p></div></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> Quick Predictions</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43021" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Second Anniversary Show<p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Round #1): John Walters vs. Matt Stryker</p><p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Round #1): CM Punk vs. Doug Williams</p><p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Round #1): Jimmy Rave vs. Nigel McGuinness</p><p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Round #1): AJ Styles vs. Jerry Lynn</p><p> • No DQ Eight Man Tag Match:, The Carnage Crew, Justin Credible, and Sabu vs. Special K</p><p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Semi-Finals): Walters/Stryker vs. Rave/McGuinness</p><p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Semi-Finals): Punk/Williams vs. Styles/Lynn</p><p> • Prince Nana Open Challenge: Xavier vs. ???</p><p> • ROH World Championship Match: Samoa Joe © vs. Jay Briscoe</p><p> • Pure Wrestling Title Tournament (Finals): Walters/Stryker/Punk/Williams vs. Rave/McGuinness/Styles/Lynn</p></div></blockquote>

1. Vacant </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

2. AJ Styles</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

3. Homicide</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

4. Jay and Mark Briscoe</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

AJ gives his protege a pep talk and some tips. Rave mentions that he hopes to see AJ in the finals, to which AJ just smiles and pats him on the back with a condescending, “Yeah, we’ll see.” Rave looks a bit dejected as Styles walks out of the frame.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Time for “</span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Samoa Joe</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">’s Ring”, where the ROH World Champion talks about his belt and himself. Mentions the disappointment after losing twice to The Briscoes, but says the ROH World Championship is the only belt he cares about. He keeps talking Briscoes for a bit until he switches it up and brings up the Pure Wrestling Championship tournament, saying it’s disrespectful to the champ that he has to play second fiddle on the Second Anniversary Show.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Nana says he thought about putting a bounty down for anyone who can beat Xavier, but he laughed at the thought, stating no one was qualified! He also mentioned that Xavier should be in the Pure Wrestling Championship tournament, but brushes it off, saying it’s a good scouting opportunity anyways.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Tournament time! The commentators mention that the only match that will be contested under the “Pure Wrestling” rules will be the final. After that and a quick run down, we kick off with </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>John Walters</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> in a losing effort against </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Matt Stryker</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. Both men work the legs and by the end of the match, neither one could stand without the assistance of the ropes. Definitely interesting to see how that works into the semis (and possibly finals). Stryker rolls out of a Boston crab attempt by Walters and counters it into a Strykerlock at 16:58. Walters lasts for quite some time, really putting over the importance of the belt to him, but eventually taps.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

On the other side, </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>CM Punk</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> doesn’t get quite the same fanfare. The match manages to go on without any sign of The Prophecy, which allows for a great match. There was a bit of a scare in the match after Punk hit a back suplex on the ring apron which saw Williams get dropped right on his neck. But it didn’t deter him and he fought on. A Chaos Theory attempt from Doug Williams was prevented by Punk continuing to roll through and dropping on Doug for a pin. A near double pin, but Punk got his shoulders up at the 2-count for a victory at 9:48.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

A Pure Wrestling Championship Tournament edition of “Good Times, Great Memories” with a bandaged up </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Colt Cabana</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">, almost comedically so. Joining Cabana is </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Nigel McGuinness</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jerry Lynn</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. They play a game called “England vs. The South”, in which Lynn spends the majority of the game telling Colt he’s from Minnesota. The game gets boring after awhile to Colt and he sends his guest away. The show becomes oddly serious after Colt mentions he’s rooting for Punk, but is also looking forward to getting revenge on The Prophecy.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

</span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Nigel</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> makes it back just in time to take on </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jimmy Rave</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. It’s a pretty interesting match as Rave tests out his technical skills against McGuinness. We also see him lift a few moves from his mentor’s playbook. Despite the moves, Rave plays the underdog for the majority of the match. At about the halfway mark, </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Prince Nana</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> takes a seat ringside and watches the match, much to the confusion of both men. Perhaps a confusion that helped give Jimmy an upper hand. So much so, he manages to hit a Styles Clash at 9:15 on McGuinness to advance! While Jimmy celebrates, Nana heads to the back with a smirk on his face.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

The final first round match, </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>AJ Styles</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jerry Lynn</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> face for possibly the 100th time in less than 2 years it feels like. Snarky comment aside, this was a great closure to the first round. Reminded me a lot of RVD/Lynn, just minus the chairs. Styles took two cradle piledrivers, but kicked out at two each time. Which means it’s only fair for Lynn to kick out of two Styles Clashes. The length of the match and the moves taken forces it to slow down a bit near the end as they start busting out the chain wrestling. A sleeper hold attempt by Lynn is met with AJ getting free and dropping Jerry with a Pele kick. A Spiral Tap and pin at 14:21 is what it takes to finally put away Jerry Lynn. After the match, the two shake hands and Lynn tells AJ to win the whole thing.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

More bonding segments as </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Doug Williams</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> is giving some praise to </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Nigel McGuinness</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. Though, the bonding is cut off by McGuinness saying he doesn’t need any advice from someone like Williams, whatever that means. Doug just laughs at Nigel, prompting McGuinness to tell him to “piss off”. Nigel leaves and Williams turns to the camera, calling Nigel “a good sport”.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

He mocks them and says that they’d never be good enough to be involved in a tournament like the Pure Wrestling one. Calling them too “ashamed” to show up or suggests that they’re “too scared”. </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Colt</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> walks up behind his pal, with a loud “Punk!” that causes Punk to jump. Intermission comes to an end with the first semi-final match. It’s </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Matt Stryker</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> taking on </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jimmy Rave</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. Right away, Jimmy starts working Stryker’s bad leg. This is a viciousness that Jimmy’s never shown before. Matt tries his best to put up a fight, but any time he gets an advantage, a quick kick to his leg drops him down. It’s weird to see Rave in control of a match and he gets the submission victory at 9:46 after a single leg Boston crab on Stryker’s bad leg.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

We’re treated to a main event worthy semi-final match that starts off with an unlikely show of respect in the form of a handshake. </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>CM Punk</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> offers his hand and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>AJ Styles</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> is understandably uneasy about it, but it’s a fair shake. The match, as you’d expect, was awesome. Styles launched himself off the ring apron at one point and hit a beauty of a hurricanrana on the outside. Most men displayed their chain wrestling skills with a lot of quick, mini submissions. Near the end, AJ got up to the top rope, possibly to hit another Spiral Tap, but Punk popped up with a last second burst of energy for the Pepsi Plunge. CM Punk goes for the pin: 1...2...but he lets up, his attention focused on the entrance. The camera turns and it’s a bloodied </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Colt Cabana</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">! Nana tries to help his client, but just gets a roundhouse kick for his efforts. All it takes is one Ghetto Stomp off the top rope and Xavier is put away at 13:16. An exciting return for Low Ki and the return being a well kept secret adds a X factor to it.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

ROH World Championship defense time! The match hasn’t even started and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Samoa Joe</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> is at a disadvantage with </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jim Cornette</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Mark Briscoe</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> outside the ring in </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jay</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">’s corner. Not surprising, they play a factor in the match. Mark will distract the ref while Jim helps out Jay and then they’ll switch roles. Joe puts an end to that real quick with a suicide dive that possibly killed Mark Briscoe. Before he got a chance to go after Cornette, a tope from Jay stopped him. The two brawled outside the ring and ended after Joe sent Jay crashing through a ringside barricade. Somewhere on the barricade, Jay must’ve hit a sharp spot because he’s covered in blood when Joe rolls him back in. Doesn’t take much longer as the bloodied Jay can’t keep up and it’s an Island Driver for a lucky number 13 title defense at 22:54. Joe holds his belt up high and points at The Briscoes, ready for next month.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Another break in the action with </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>The Carnage Crew</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> sitting in the locker room. They do their usual running down of their wives and day jobs, nothing new there. But the point they hit that’s worth noting is </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>HC Loc</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> mentioning he’s tired of it all. Tired of the trash cans. Tired of the chairs. Tired of his wife. </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Tony</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> nods in agreement and suggests one more match. A “final” match.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

What an unlikely main event. Seeing </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>AJ Styles</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> in the main event isn’t too surprising. Seeing </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jimmy Rave</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">? A tad unusual. The referee holds up the Pure Wrestling Championship for the first time and reminds the men that the match is to be hosted under Pure Wrestling rules: Three rope breaks each, no closed-fists to the face, and a twenty count on the outside. A handshake and the match begins. Jimmy’s definitely learned a thing from AJ, as he’s able to counter every move and they end up in a stalemate. It takes one slip up from Rave to change the match and it happens, allowing AJ to hit a perfect springboard forearm that changes the course of the match. A couple of near falls cause Jimmy to burn through two rope breaks, but a flash armbar that catches Styles off guard forces him to burn one as well. A small package from Rave later on in the match puts them both at one rope break. On the top rope, AJ goes for a hurricanrana, but Jimmy holds on, dropping AJ down for a Styles Clash! The count ends right at 2.9 when the ref notices AJ’s foot on the rope, burning his last rope break due to Rave’s lack of ring awareness. Rave goes for another after pulling AJ away, but he kicks out again. Trying to stay on the attack, Jimmy eats a forearm shot to the stomach and meets a snap brainbuster from AJ Styles. Jimmy’s completely out of it and at 23:07, AJ Styles becomes the first ROH Pure Wrestling Champion with a Styles Clash. The crowd is on their feet, applauding both men, and AJ hugs a disappointed Rave before posing with the belt.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

The camera rushes through the arena to see </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>CM Punk</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> re-entering after an ambulance took away Colt Cabana. Punk knocks over a table in rage and pulls out his phone. </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Ace Steel</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> is on the other line, out of state for a match, and CM Punk is livid. Ace’s voice can be heard, but nothing’s clear, other than the fact that he’s just as pissed. Punk gives a quick update on Colt, saying he’s going to need stitches and there’s a small bone in his foot broken because of those “motherf**kers”. The segment ends when Punk tells Steel, “Somebody’s going to die for this!”</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

Elsewhere, </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Gary Michael Cappetta</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> has managed to find </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Low Ki</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">. GMC does his job and asks about Low Ki’s return, but as expected with a man of few words, the World Warrior just glares at Gary then the camera. A few seconds of some uneasy and tense breathing before cutting away.</span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> </span></span></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;">

The last extra of the night is </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>AJ Styles</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> and </span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"><strong>Jimmy Rave</strong></span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:arial;"><span style="font-size:10px;"> in the back yet again. This time, of course, the Pure Wrestling Championship on AJ’s shoulder. Right away, Jimmy apologizes for using the Styles Clash against him, but AJ says there’s no harm in it, telling Jimmy, “You were doing what you had to do.” Styles tells him there was no shame in losing, but more importantly, he asked Jimmy where he learned to be so vicious, so competitive. Jimmy smiles, pats AJ on the back, and tells him he’s got the best teacher ROH can offer.</span></span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="max-width:550px;background-color:#ebf1fc;border-style:solid;border-color:white;border-width:1px";"></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'droid serif';"><strong>The 411:</strong></span></span></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'droid serif';"> A very good show that just missed the line to become great or even better. I'm just glad they finally got to reveal the Pure Wrestling Championship after teasing it for months. AJ Styles was the MVP of the night. A good match with Lynn and a match of the year contender with Punk. Honestly, Punk/Styles should've been the final, but I understand why they didn't. Hopefully we'll get a rematch soon. There wasn't really any stinkers on the show. The ROH World Championship match was kind of disappointing, but not awful. The no DQ brawl was pretty solid with some good spots. A pretty good showing to represent ROH's 3rd year.</span></span></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'droid serif';"> </span></span></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'droid serif';">
