Multiple Road Agents + Referees

Recommended Posts

i think its mostly used for realism. once your company is a certain size the ideal roster, which the ai uses, will get bigger including multiple refs and road agents. The only thing i can think of that might be beneficial would be having a second cheaper road agent/ref for less important shows that you run to make money. That and maybe developing a successor to your current road agent/ref.

<p>On the topic of having multiple RAs and Refs, would certain stats affect how matches go?</p><p>

Like, if Road Agent X has a good chemistry with Wrestlers A and B or something?</p><p> </p><p>

Obviously, having only 1 RA and 1 Ref for your company means you can keep everything more constant and consistent, but I was wondering if having more than 1 means that you can build like a small team of workers/matches around them so that they work well together?</p>

<p>None of these are big enough that they're going to make the cost worth it when you're a small federation, but when money is less tight there's a couple of things that make multiple refs and agents attractive in pure game-play terms: </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Backstage Rating: </strong>packing in a few well-chosen road agents can be pretty good for your backstage rating, especially if they're veterans who quality as locker room leaders. Picking the right wrestlers will do that too, but you're more likely to get a rising star stolen away by another fed than your road agent.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Controlling the flow of the show:</strong> The benefits and penalties for refereeing or road agent work might not be huge, but if I'm really trying to make sure my semi-main isn't rating higher than my main when both have good quality wrestlers, deploying the lesser road agent and referee may shave a few points off to keep the main event looking good.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Redundancy</strong>: The note about someone missing a show doesn't come up often, but people do get employed elsewhere or find themselves leaving. The penalty for running an entire show with guest referees is enough that I want a little redundancy if one referee isn't available.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Meddling:</strong> Refs and Road agents tend not to develop overness that makes them attractive to larger promotions anywhere, so they're often a good target for the meddling feature when you're forging new friendships among your crew. Particularly in a Cult fed, where the national promotions will pick at your top stars, they're your long-term through-line.</p>

<p>That helps me understand it a bit better, but I'm also wondering about stuff like Chemistry affecting the performance of angles and matches.</p><p> </p><p>

I'll use 2 hypothetical situations in WWE/NXT with a Road Agent, a Referee, and 6 wrestlers, as my examples for this question.</p><p> </p><p>

Is it possible for, let's say, Arn Anderson the RA and Drake Wuertz the Referee to develop good chemistry with The Revival (DUH), #DIY, and American Alpha, if they've worked together for a few matches and a couple angles, so that when you book matches and angles with Arn and Drake and any of those 6 guys together, you would get a bonus?</p><p> </p><p>

Or, say, Dean Malenko the RA and John Cone the Referee developing good chem together on Raw working repeatedly with a group consisting of Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, and Samoa Joe?</p><p> </p><p>

(That's not even factoring in the Announcer, and the Commentator(s) for the matches and angles...) <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

I don't think there is any Chemistry regarding Road Agents/Refs/Wrestlers.

There should be though. I can imagine a scenario where lets say your top face and heel don't have chemistry.

A really good Ref might be able to somewhat mask the clumsy interactions, but a really good road agent should be able to book a match where the bad chemistry is hardly shown. Certainly its a topic that could be in the Suggestions forum.

I can see Dean Malenko telling me that "Wrestler's A/B don't have good chemistry when facing each other, but I should be able to mask that if you want to match them up again."

What this does is give you the Bad Chemistry rating for their first match. Their second match, as long as Dean is your road agent, should be able to book the match with no penalty....I mean Dean knows wrestling, he can easily pull them aside and help them put the match together to hide that.

I don't usually have multiple Road Agents unless I bring in Reese Paige for potential relationships, and then a better Road Agent as well. As for referees, I usually bring in Erin Lawrence for a similar reason, and then sometimes a better ref as well. Additionally, if I do a ref bump, I try to not use that ref for the rest of the show.
