".....now two months later and on two good legs.....revenge MUST be on your mind?....." .....Piper just smiles at that, scratching his head as he tells Tenay that this isn't about revenge.....it's about finding out.....not finding out if he still has it..... ".....one word, one motion, one click of my fingers and my congregation could lay waste to the pitiful career that you have built for yourself....." .....Vandenberg raises one arm slowly and as one the three men at ringside climb up onto an apron, staring down the Cruiserweight Challenger..... ".....in the blink of an eye, all of your hopes and dreams could be washed away under a tidal wave of violence and suffering.....fortunately for you, Hayabusa has chosen to take this task for himself.....alone....." .....the Cruiserweight Champion looks at both Shinzaki and Mortis in turn, as each man slowly lowers himself to the floor leaving Hayabusa to stand alone on the apron, Champion face to face with Challenger..... ".....young and naïve, your visions of grandeur may have bought you to the dance, but the music is about to stop playing on you song of celebration, as your funeral pyre ignites and the cleansing flames flicker at the feet of the eulogy of your career..... .....but not tonight....." .....with that, Hayabusa drops abruptly to the mat, snatching his Championship belt as he rolls quickly to the outside again, as he, Shinzaki and Mortis back up the aisle, coming to a halt behind their leader..... ".....Ecclesiastes 11:9.....Rejoice, O young man, in your youth.....and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth.....walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes.....but know that for all these things.....at SuperBrawl.....Hayabusa.....will bring you into judgment....." .....and just as abruptly as they arrived, this Unholy Ministry slowly turns and walks to the back, leaving the commentators to question whether James Vandenberg is taking this whole 'Minister' thing a little bit too far.....as Juventud Guerrera resumes (half-heartedly) celebrating his victory.....and we air a quick promo for SuperBrawl VIII..... ".....and as such, we had no choice BUT to vacate this Championship.....not because we wanted to, but because this title deserves to be defended..... .....of course, in order to BE defended, someone has to actually HOLD this Championship, which is exactly why I'm out here right now..... .....this title deserves to be defended, this title deserves to have a holder.....next week, it's going to have a holder....." .....Bischoff says that next week, live on WCW Thunder, we are going to crown a new WCW Television Champion, as we hold a one night, eight man TV Title tournament.....eight men (who are yet to be named) will compete over the course of next week's show, which means that in seven days, this Championship will have a holder.....and then four days later, on Monday Nitro, it's going to be defended too..... That's the question..... .....it would seem like the answer (initially anyway) was Copeland and Cage.....yes they are technically "heels" and yes they are members of the Titans of Wrestling, but in all honesty, they're pretty entertaining too, so it's them that the crowd are rooting for in this (actually very good all things considered) match..... .....or they WERE rooting for them.....at least until Jean Paul Levesque makes his way out..... .....despite their hatred of all things WCW (and of the Titans of Wrestling) JPL and Shawn Michaels appear to have taken a bit of a shine to Copeland and Cage.....now whether that's simply a means to an end (like in this match here, where the Totally Awesome Two have agreed to face JPL's SuperBrawl opponent) or whether it's simply to mess with the heads of the rest of the Titans (Shawn Michaels SuperBrawl opponent Randy Savage in particular) remains to be seen, but as Big Ray-Ray distracts the official, Levesque rolls into the ring behind Chavo Guerrero and drops him with a Pedigree, before telling Eddie to "Suck It" as he quickly makes his exit..... .....Cage makes the cover on the fallen Guerrero and unfortunately for Eddie, he's going into his WCW United States Championship match with JPL off the back of a loss.....that's not good for moral..... ".....the big bad Forgotten don't look so big and bad to me.....in fact, they just look like another afterthought.....just another example of WCW mediocrity....." .....even after that double chair attack, Vader is still trying to get back to a somewhat vertical position, and even Bammers is trying to roll over to the ropes to pull himself back up, so Michaels breaks away from the microphone for a minute to direct traffic, instructing the Trinity to finish what they started.....and remarkably that's exactly what happens, as Shawn Michaels and Jean Paul Levesque fight side by side with the Titans of Wrestling to make sure that the Forgotten stay down..... .....finally, with Sully, Vader and Bam Bam down, Copeland, Cage and Traylor join Michaels and JPL in the ring, where Shawn continues his tirade.....he says that in all of WCW, there are very few things that stand out......He is one.....JPL is one......the Totally Awesome Trinity is one.....but they've been dogged down and tarnished by Randy Savage and the rest of the Titans of Wrestling.....so much so, that at SuperBrawl, they don't even have a match..... ".....well that's ok boys.....because you can watch how some REAL Titans do it, when JPL becomes Mr. USA and ol' Mr. Wrestling himself teaches your fearless leader a lesson that he'll never forget inside that steel cage.....and then.....maybe you'll have the good sense to tell Randy Savage the same thing we've been telling all of WCW for months now..... .....Suck It....." .....with that, Michaels throws down the microphone and raises his arms, as Levesque holds up the arms of Copeland and Cage respectively..... .....Shawn Michaels has been promising to destroy the Titans of Wrestling for months now.....is he about to do just that, by tearing it down from the inside?.....is he about to do that, without even lifting a finger, simply by feeding the dissension that already exists within the group?..... .....maybe we'll find out Sunday..... .....we'll see you at SuperBrawl fans..... Highlights from ECW House Party 1998

.....we only have one match remaining from our big House Party event (but it's THE match.....the ECW Championship match) which means that our other two matches tonight both come from a recent ECW live show.....

.....we opened up that live show (as we often do) with Joey Styles welcoming everyone to the evenings entertainment, before generally getting the crowd as hyped up as he possibly can.....and it's during that hype session that he's rudely interrupted.....

.....by JT Smith of all people.....

.....JT has been desperate to regain his 'Made Man' status within the Full Bloodied Italians, but he hasn't been having much luck as of late, being repeatedly told to "fuggetaboutit" by the Big Don Tommy Rich.....well apparently (as Joey asks him what it is that he wants) he's not taking no for an answer and he's out here to try again.....

".....because Joey Styles, you know as well as I do, JT Smith is as Italian as Pizza Pie.....as Full Bodied of an Italian as you can be.....you cut me open Joey and I bleed marinara.....the FBI, they NEED me......and I'm going to prove it.....right now....."

.....Joey isn't convinced, asking JT exactly how he's planning on doing that? But JT has a plan.....he says that there's some mook in the back by the name of Chris Chetti......a real mamaluke that everyone's hot for.....

".....they talking like he's something special Joey.....like he's some....some.....some second coming of JT Smith.....well the FIRST coming of JT Smith is still here, capeesh? So tell that goomba to get out here, so I can show the Big Don what he's missing....."

.....now JT Smith did actually have a match at House Party.....in fact we saw it recently here on Hardcore TV.....much as he did tonight, he made his way out to challenge another up and comer by the name of Rob Van Dam.....

.....it didn't go so well.....

.....this didn't go great for him either.....

.....Chetti has been quietly going about his business here in ECW since his graduation from the House of Hardcore.....now granted, he hasn't been winning many matches, but he has been impressing.....and when you consider the calibre of opponent he's been facing (Taz, Shane Douglas, to name a few) it's perhaps no surprise that his win/loss record has suffered.....BUT, he has improved with every match and each loss has been a learning experience.....

.....as for JT.....well, he's just a klutz.....

.....he demonstrates just how much of a klutz he is during this match, when he climbs the ropes for what looks to be a possible moonsault attempt.....unfortunately he looses his balance and drops backwards to the mat.....now he DOES land on his feet.....but he also plants his face into the top turnbuckle, staggering backwards where Chetti catches him with a beautiful Bridging German Suplex for the one, two, three.....

.....we leave a frustrated JT Smith kicking the ropes in disappointment and head over to Joey Styles in the control centre.....Joey quickly recaps the 'heinous' actions delivered upon Beulah at our House Party event, where Shane Douglas revealed his latest insurance policy (and second threat if his not so subtle hints are anything to go by) as he not only successfully defended his Television Title, but also punished Tommy Dreamer both physically and then emotionally, when the debuting Hellraiser chokeslammed Beulah straight through a wooden table.....

.....from there we cut to a grainy shot of Tommy Dreamer, filmed from what looks to be the inside of a local medical facility, where he informs us that Beulah is currently receiving treatment.....

".....but I've told them Shane.....I've told them to save two spots.....one for you.....and one for that walking Frankenstein's Monster you've got watching your back.....see you can beat on me all you like.....(Tommy begins laying into his own head with punches, until he busts open his existing scar tissue leaving blood running down his face).....I don't care.....I DON'T CARE.....I've been beat on before, I'll be beat on again.....but you Shane Douglas, you payed your hands on Beulah.....you took a 110lb woman and you slammed her onto that mat with a Belly to Belly.....but then.....THEN.....then you went out and found the biggest, baddest monster you could find.....and you had him do the unthinkable.....

.....you had him grab Beulah.....you had him grab her by her throat.....AND THEN YOU HAD HIM CHOKESLAM HER THROUGH A [Expletive Deleted] WOODEN TABLE.....

.....Shane Douglas, this isn't about the TV Title.....this isn't about wins and losses.....this isn't about professional wrestling.....this is about me.....ending you.....for her......Shane Douglas, you will face me......you WILL fight me.....and PLEASE bring your insurance policy.....because like I said, I got two places booked for you right here in this hospital.....except it's not in a hospital room.....

.....I got you two spots booked.....in the morgue....."

.....and from there we change to a shot of the Dudley Clan.....and outside of D-Von's victory, House Party wasn't a good night for our Tie-Dye Heroes.....Chubby and Dances with were on the loosing side against Rookie Team Danny Doring and Roadkill, while Buh Buh was unsuccessful in his efforts to defeat Terry Funk.....but while D-Von was initially (very) annoyed by the fact that his brothers can't buy a win, he ended the night extremely pleased.....because FINALLY (after weeks of badgering) ONE of his brothers at least showed some balls.....

.....the constant belittling and berating by D-Von was obviously too much for Buh-Buh to take, as he joined forces with his bullying brother to fight off Balls Mahoney and Axl Rotten.....

".....and oh my brother what a moment that was.....those two fat chair swinging freaks want to go to war, we'll go to war.....the Dudley Boys.....the REAL Dudley Boys.....we're going to leave the fat brother at the Buffett Table and we're going to leave Chief "Looses a Lot" here to run off and do whatever the hell he does when he's not getting his ass kicked, while you and I brother.....we show Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney exactly why you don't (Expletive Deleted) with the Dudleys....."

.....with that, a surprising jovial D-Von walks off, leaving the rest of the Dudley Clan to look towards Buh Buh.....

.....Buh Buh tells them not to Lu-Lu-Look at him like that.....he says that D-Von is getting more unhinged by the week, someone needs to keep him in check and it didn't look like Chubby or Dances with were going to step up to the plate anytime soon.....Chubby shakes his head, telling Buh Buh that no, he wasn't.....D-Von frankly terrifies him.....but they have other options.....over directions.....

".....other brothers....."

.....Sign guy quickly slaps a hand over Chubby's mouth (and it's either a brave or a desperate man who puts ANYTHING near Chubby's mouth.....he didn't get his name from dieting) before holding up a sign that simply says "Shhhhh....."

.....Buh Buh tells Chubby that's not an option.....D-Von can NEVER find out about them.....but Dances with is in agreement with Chubby, telling Buh Buh they should at least call 'the little guy'.....Dances says that D-Von is an asshole.....D-Von is a bully.....but 'the little guy'.....he's psychotic.....

".....you know as well as I do.....he's not scared of nothing.....there's nothing he won't do.....nothing he won't try.....no-one he won't fight.....no-one that he....."

.....Buh Buh cuts his brother off there, telling him that's exactly why they CAN'T call him.....'the little guy' will never stop and D-Von won't quit until he takes him down permanently.....

".....and we all know what it would take to put 'him' down permanently.....we can't call him, so don't get any ideas.....

.....for now, just leave D-Von to me....."

.....our second match of the evening also took place at that same live event that JT Smith challenged young Chris Chetti.....and while Smith was looking to impress the FBI, this match INVOLVED the FBI.....as Guido and Smothers faced off against ECW's newest team, The Vampire Warrior and Christopher Daniels (accompanied by Luna) collectively known as The Brood.....

.....the match was good for what it was.....and actually involved a good portion of everything that the ECW fan could ask for.....it had the comedy spots of the FBI.....the Hardcore brawling from the Vampire Warrior.....the aerial and technical prowess of the Fallen Angel.....

.....and interference.....it had interference too......

.....because as Luna took offence to something that the Big Don said on the outside, pouncing on him, JT Smith again attempted to regain favour by helping the FBI pick up a victory.....

.....well, I say 'helping'.....

.....what he actually did was rush the ring with a chair and swing it wildly at Christopher Daniels......the Fallen Angel moved out of harms way and it was Tracy Smothers that ate shot.....Daniels sends Smith flying to the floor, before turning round to meet a dazed Smothers getting back to his feet.....

.....one Angels Wing's and three seconds later and it's arrivederci to our 'italian' friends.....

.....JT Smith frantically tries to apologise to the FBI as the group make their way to the back.....they're not interested though.....as usual the hapless Smith has done more harm than good, in fact (judging by some of the comments levied by the Big Don) JT is lucky they're not forcing him to 'swim with the fishes' right now.....

.....The Brood pay little attention to their departing opponents, instead Luna joins them in the ring to celebrate.....

.....except they're not celebrating long.....

.....because the ECW Tag Team Champions come rushing out from the back.....and The Eliminators are out for revenge.....

.....it was Saturn and Kronus that the Brood targeted when they made their debut here in the Land of Extreme, and they've clearly neither forgiven nor forgotten, because they charge the ring here and go straight after the Vampire Warrior and the Fallen Angel.....

.....the Brood don't hold back either, they targeted the Eliminators because they're the top team in ECW right now.....take out the top team and you can take their spot.....AND their titles.....so what follows is your usual ECW arena wide brawl.....

.....neither team really gets the advantage (although the Eliminators do gain the advantage just long enough to give Luna the Total Elimination, much to the delight of the crowd) and eventually half the locker room empties in order to separate these warring teams.....although the Brood are more receptive to the restraint that the Eliminators, who try (and fail) to fight overwhelming odds to get their hands on the Brood.....

.....and as Saturn and Kronus are physically dragged to the back, the Vampire Warrior and the Fallen Angel remain (surrounded) in the middle of the ring, with a look of almost satisfaction on their faces.....

.....they wanted the ECW Tag Team Champions attention.....

.....seems like they got it.....

.....which finally brings us to our House Party Main Event.....a match which saw The Sandman put the ECW Championship on the line against one half of the Gangsta's.....New Jack.....

.....considering The Sandman IS the ECW Champion, and has been multiple times by this point, remarkably New Jack is (and I have no idea why) considerably more over than him.....in fact, New Jack is one of the most over wrestlers in the company and even head and shoulders over his own tag team partner.....

.....so for what it's worth, if you thought this was a throwaway match, I'll put it into WCW terms for you.....this would be like (based on overness alone) VK Wallstreet (the Sandman) defending the WCW Title against Sting (New Jack).....not quite so throw away now is it?.....

.....ah, who am I kidding.....of course this is a throw away match.....I mean, all that is true, New Jack IS a hell of a lot more over than The Sandman (and wasn't happy about doing the job here either) but after a building wide brawl which saw Singapore Cane's, Steel Chairs, Tables, Guitars, Vacuum Cleaners and a Bowling Ball to the.....well, the balls.....Sandman took some of that overness that New Jacks been hoarding and he took it for himself, finishing off the challenger with a Singapore Cane assisted Russian Leg Sweep onto a discarded Steel Safety Rail.....

.....Sandy retains.....

Winner: ....and Still ECW Champion.....The Sandman.....

.....I don't know if you remember, but earlier in the night of this House Party event (so, a few weeks back on Hardcore TV) Terry Funk vowed to come straight out here following the conclusion of this ECW Title match, vowing to challenge the Champion to a match there and then.....

.....looks like he's delivering on that promise, because the Hardcore Icon himself comes walking out from the back and he's yelling at Sandman all the way.....

.....he tells Sandman that he told him.....he warned him.....Terry Funk has wrestled once tonight, but there's plenty of gas left in this old tank, which means that he wants The Sandman.....he wants the ECW Title......he wants a SECOND match.....and he wants it....right....now......

.....Sandman could really give a sh!t about how many times he fights tonight.....he grabs a beer and a microphone, downing the beer in one and telling Funk that if he wants to come and try and take this ECW Title from him then he's more than welcome, but he warns Funk that he's going to have to cash in his retirement plan after, because the Sandman is going to cripple his old ass.....

.....match made then, and an added bonus for the crowd too.....not one, but two ECW Title matches tonight.....and as Funk climbs into the ring, we might as well get this one underway.....

.....ring that god damn bell.....

".....don't you DARE ring that f###ing bell....."

.....if you DO remember Terry Funk promising that he'd be out here again tonight to challenge whoever walks out as the ECW Champion to a title match, then you may remember this guy (Justin Credible) promising that this match would NOT happen.....well here he is.....

.....and he's not alone.....he has SOMEONE by his side (a rather bookish gentleman in a fetching tie and suit combination) that Credible informs us goes by the name of Buford T. Pinkerton IV.....

".....and Mr. Pinkerton is from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Committee.....and he has some bad news for you.....Buford, why don't you tell them....."

.....Buford does tell them.....he tells them that as the representative here this evening for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Committee, he cannot in good conscious allow either The Sandman or Terry Funk ("PARTICULARLY you Mr. Funk given your advanced age") to compete twice in one night.....so no (just as Credible promised) Terry Funk will NOT be challenging for the ECW Title here tonight.....

.....the crowd don't like that.....in fact a rather loud chant breaks out in the direction of Mr. Pinkerton.....one that suggests that he likes the taste of male appendages.....Sandman doesn't like it (because Sandman just doesn't like being told what to do) and Terry Funk REALLY doesn't like it.....

.....Funk tells Buford to blow it out his pencil pushing ass, because this is ECW.....and ECW don't give a damn about his little rules and regulations.....

".....so you listen to me you egg sucking dog.....you can take your little mandate and you can shove it up Justin Credible's buck teethed ass.....we ain't here to compete, we're here to fight and we're fixing to fight right now, whether you like it or not....."

.....oh no you're not.....not on Buford T. Pinkerton IV's watch.....and Buford marches straight down to that ring (clearly not a man used to being told no) and he tells the official that if he so much as THINKS about ringing that bell, he will have all future ECW live events blackballed from the state of Pennsylvania.....

.....again a rather questionable chant breaks out from the crowd, but that just makes Buford all the more determined, until finally our official washes his hands of the decision, walking to the back.....

.....Buford tells Funk that at least ONE person is seeing sense around here.....and he would suggest that Mr. Funk follows suit, before he gets himself (and the whole company) in a lot of trouble.....

.....so Terry Funk grabs him.....

.....and Piledrives him straight in the middle of the ring.....

.....and the crowd pops huge.....

.....be that as it may, our second ECW Title match did NOT happen......Justin Credible DID get what he wanted.....and as we close out the final Hardcore TV of February, we close on a shot of Justin Credibles smirking face.....

.....as Buford T. Pinkerton convulses like a fish out of water on the mat.....

.....goodnight folks.....

Go ahead, I’ll wait while you try and think of someone not called Shawn Michaels..... .....anyway, while you’re doing that I’ll just continue with the match write up, because Rocky ain’t waiting for no one..... .....Curt finally catches a breather, but he has to earn it, as a big right hand by Rocky sends him sailing over the top rope and down to the floor, where he at least gets a brief reprise.....it is only brief though, with The Rock heading straight outside to meet him.....he pummels Curt all over the ringside area before finally ramming Hennig’s head into the post so hard that Curt turns inside out right out there on the floor..... .....I think Hennig would have been happy to take a count-out loss there, but Rocky isn’t letting him off that easily, rolling his opponent back into the ring.....he perhaps should have taken that count-out win though, because as he rolls into the ring after him he’s met with a knee drop to the back of the head that finally slows him down enough for Hennig to take control of the contest..... .....Curt Hennig has done a lot of running away from the Rock as of late, but the times he hasn’t been running (usually after a cheap shot) he’s taken great pleasure in inflicting serious punishment onto the self proclaimed people’s champion.....he viciously assaulted him following his loss to Eddie Guerrero a few weeks back (a loss that actually came courtesy of Hennig) and he was especially effective with a steel chair in hand on a recent episode of WCW Thunder.....so it’s perhaps no surprise that he appears to be enjoying this extended heat spot greatly..... .....all of Curt’s ‘perfect’ cockiness returns as he arrogantly struts around the ring, nonchalantly batting his opponents about the back of the head with slaps, before deciding to finish him off once and for all with that Hennig-Plex.....he hooks Rocky into position, but before he can execute the move Rocky wriggles free and sends Curt into the ropes, driving him hard to the mat with a spinebuster on the return..... .....from there, The Rock begins to fight his way back into this.....he may be fully focused on Curt Hennig right now, but he must have one eye firmly fixed on Jean Paul Levesque too, with the pair exchanging insults for weeks now.....although JPL hasn’t been shy about getting others to do his dirty work for him, often enlisting the Totally Awesome Trinity to do a lot of the heavy lifting for him..... .....that being said, if Rocky DOES have his sights set on Levesque, he’s going to want to be heading into any potential match between the two of them with a victory here..... .....he continues to fight his way back into the match, mounting more and more of an offence as the bout goes on.....you can see the confidence slipping away from Hennig, who (after controlling a good portion of the action) reverts to attempting to keep as far away from The Rock as possible.....Rocky isn’t going to give him the chance to run though, finally (and decisively) putting Curt away right in the middle of the ring following a Rock Bottom..... Winner: ....and Still WCW Cruiserweight Champion.....Hayabusa..... Winner(s): ....and Still WCW Tag Team Champions.....The Forgotten..... "src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/HCRFbM2.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/HCRFbM2.jpg"><img</a> style="max-width:15%; "src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/CscfWXe.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/CscfWXe.jpg"></a> .....which takes us nicely to our HUGE tag team match, as five members of Team USA face off against five members of the Sovereignty..... .....this feud all started with Hacksaw Jim Duggan, so it’s only fitting that this MATCH starts with Jim Duggan too.....chasing the members of the Sovereignty around with that 2x4, as one by one they ran from Hacksaw’s wood and one by one they run straight into the waiting fists of the other members of Team USA..... .....this match wasn’t exactly a match of the night contender, but much as with the Giant/Sid match earlier, the (ever patriotic) crowd had a great time chanting USA as the heels got their comeuppance..... .....since the crowd IS so patriotic, it only makes sense to have Hacksaw work the face in peril role.....especially since outside of Lord Steven, the majority of the heel contingent are midcarders at best, while outside of Duggan, the majority of the face side are main eventers..... .....obviously that makes for some pretty overwhelming odds.....and while Steven Regal has been racking up some pretty impressive wins as of late (including victories over DDP, Chris Benoit AND the Road Warriors) even HE was going to be hard pushed to make the difference here.....and while Team USA was always going to come out on top, Regal wasn’t going to be the one to take the fall..... .....the match eventually broke down to your usual brawl, which saw Page drop Eaton with the Diamond Cutter, Hacksaw clock Regal between the eyes with that 2x4 (behind the officials back) on the outside, as Luger first sends Rougeau crashing through the ropes with a running forearm, before Racking the big man Oulette..... .....which just left The Duke as easy pickings for the Road Warriors to turn inside out with a Doomsday Device for the one, two, three..... .....Hooooooooooooo..... Rating: B+ </div></blockquote> <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div> <img style="max-width:15%; "src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/AUvdGX6.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/AUvdGX6.jpg"><img</a> style="max-width:15%; "src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/TFVQgbO.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/TFVQgbO.jpg"><img</a> style="max-width:15%; "src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/qU3eLUn.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/qU3eLUn.jpg"></a> .....a few months ago Buff Bagwell picked up what was quite possibly the biggest victory of his career when he defeated Roddy Piper as Starrcade.....problem with that was twofold.....one, the match was unsanctioned, so technically as far as WCW is concerned, the win never happened.....and two, Roddy Piper could barely walk during that “match” let alone wrestle following a series of brutal attacks at the hands of the Titans of Wrestling left the man hobbled..... .....Buff has the chance here to wipe all that away and get an honest to goodness win over the Hot Rod, in an officially sanctioned WCW match.....again though, there’s two problems there.....Piper is fully fit, has two legs, is ready to fight and is thoroughly focused on giving Buff a thrashing, while the other problem is that Bagwell doesn’t seem particularly focused on this match..... .....instead of preparing to meet the man that went toe to toe with Hulk Hogan during the Rock n Wrestling era (and co-headlined Wrestlemania I) Buff has spent all his time this evening on a wild goose chase, chasing after Titans that don’t appear to be there this evening..... .....Piper uses that to his advantage in the opening portions of the match and for a face, we all know that the Hot Rod loves to bend the rules.....which is why a distracted and flustered Buff is on the receiving end of a number of bites, pokes to the eyes and hair pulls, why just serves to frustrate Bagwell even further..... .....it’s fair to say that a good portion of Bagwell’s gameplay here tonight may well have centred around a helping hand (or three) from the Totally Awesome Trinity.....obviously that’s not happening now, but while Buff might not be at the level of a Randy Savage or a Warrior, but he IS a member of the Titans of Wrestling and has been for some time now.....so once he finally gets his head into the match he’s perfectly capable of turning the tides on his own ability..... .....the longer he maintains control of the match, the more confident he becomes too.....he’s not what you would call a technician but he’s savvy enough to realise that focusing his attack on the leg of Piper is his best chance of winning, after all, Roddy might be coming into this one fully fit, but a fully fit leg of Roddy Piper is probably still only operating at 80% after the years of wear and tear and surgeries they have endured.....Bagwell isn’t about to start stretching and contorting the limb with a myriad of submission holds, but he is certainly proficient enough to stomp and kick at it..... .....he should have perhaps learnt a submission hold or two though.....because despite his best efforts, Piper won’t stay down.....although he does DROP down.....down and out of the way as Buff goes for that Blockbuster attempt, leaving Bagwell to eat nothing but canvas..... .....we have the obligatory ten count (which both men manage to beat by 9) before Piper begins firing right hands at the Titan star, leading to the commentary team (particularly Tony) reminding us of Roddy’s amateur boxing background..... .....Buff tries to fight back but Roddy has had to listen to the brash Titan crowing about holding a victory over the Hot Rod for months now and he is clearly eager to avenge that loss.....Bagwell does his best to escape the onslaught, but as he tries to climb through the ropes to bail, Piper grabs him by the back of the tights and drags him back to the centre of the ring..... .....where he locks on the sleeper hold..... .....and with no Trinity in sight to run interference, Bagwell fades and fades.....and fades some more.....until finally the official raises (and drops) the arm three times, before calling for the bell..... .....this one is over.....Piper wins.....and Bagwell really, REALLY could have done with a Totally Awesome helping hand from the Totally Awesome Trinity..... Right?.....” .....Bischoff sighs again, before telling Disco that yes, he’s right.....Disco let’s out a little fist pump (as Alex dances to that imaginary music behind him) and tries to peek at the paperwork, but Eric quickly turns the paperwork over, telling him that neither the brackets nor the participants have been finalised yet, but he’s been keeping a very close eye on the winners and losers tonight and he’s getting closer..... .....Disco scoffs at that, telling Bischoff that he’s got two of the participants right here, right now..... ”.....Alex Wright and The Disco Inferno.....your brand new Television Champion is already in this room, you just don’t know it yet.....” .....Alex pauses his dancing just long enough to tell Bischoff that he agrees with his Disco Dancing colleague.....and after the disrespect shown to them a few weeks back when Eric was looking for contenders to the tag team titles, he owes them one..... ”.....excuse me? Winner(s): Konnan, Jeff Hardy, Mike Awesome & Gideon Cain Rating: B </div></blockquote> <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43289" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"></div> <img style="max-width:15%; "src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/dICBV2c.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/dICBV2c.jpg"></a> .....they’re setting up the steel cage in the arena, so we take that opportunity to air a recap of the feud that’s been raging between Shawn Michaels (Jean Paul Levesque) and the Titans of Wrestling for months now.....we see a bloodied Shawn Michaels getting pummelled back at November’s Mayhem event.....we see Michaels and JPL go to a no contest with Savage and Warrior at Starrcade.....there’s clips from the Titans victory over Shawn and Levesque at Souled Out (including Shawn dropping an elbow on Randy Savage through a table from halfway up the set) and there’s a clip of this match being made, along with shots of the dissension that’s developed within the Titans, including shots of The Totally Awesome Trinity co-existing with Michaels and Levesque, before we finally go to a shot of backstage..... .....where Mean Gene is once again standing outside that closed door..... .....Gene says that (again) he has it on good authority that Randy Savage is no longer inside but when he left, he looked like a man who was pleased by the discussions that took place..... ”.....with that being said (and now that we won’t be rudely interrupted again) I’m going to try once again to get word from the Totally Awesome Trinity, to find out just where their allegiances lie.....” .....again Gene knocks and calls for the Trinity by name, before again reaching out to try the handle..... .....which is when the door swings open to reveal...... <img style="max-width:15%; "src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/svuTeLZ.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/svuTeLZ.jpg"></a> ”.....Shawn Michaels?.....what in the world are you doing here?.....” .....Michaels just smiles as he exits the room, closing the door behind him, telling Mean Gene that he’s Shawn Michaels.....Mr. Wrestling.....and he goes wherever the hell he wants..... .....Gene says that Randy Savage was in that room earlier this evening, now Shawn Michaels? It would seem like everyone is vying for the services of the Totally Awesome Trinity..... ”.....let me stop you right there little man.....first of all, Shawn Michaels needs help from absolutely nobody.....particularly when it comes to the so-called ‘competition’ here in “dubbya see dubbya”.....what Shawn Michaels is doing, is simply making sure that history doesn’t repeat itself..... .....see I lived through the Macho Man era.....the Warrior era.....the “that doesn’t work for me brother” era.....and now a decade later those same ‘superstars’ are still trying to cling onto that top spot by holding down the next generation.....see there’s icon’s that should know when it’s time to hang up the bandana’s and the face paint, and then there’s icons that can still go.....like me.....so while Randy Savage, The Warrior.....even Hogan before he ran off back to Hollywood brother......while they want to hold down the future while they desperately cling onto the past, I’m here to make sure that doesn’t happen..... .....it’s no secret Scheme Gene, I wouldn’t p!ss on this little backwards, hillbilly company if it was on fire, but the one bright spot WCW has.....ONE.....is Adam Copeland and Christian Cage.....Randy Savage wants to stifle that.....extinguish the flame.....well Shawn Michaels and JPL, we’re going to make sure that doesn’t happen.....and after the conversation we just had, I’m confident that the Totally Awesome Trinity will make the Totally Right Choice.....” .....Gene asks Shawn what he means by that, but again Shawn just smiles.....he tells Gene that just like everybody else, he’s going to have to wait and see.....because right now, he’s got a Macho Man to put out of his misery..... .....has that cage been built? are.....and while this match looks suspiciously like the Hell in a Cell match that he WWF put on back in October, it’s definitely NOT a Hell in a Cell match, no, no, no......this is Caged Heat.....and the winner (survivor?) of this one will be the new #1 Contender for the WCW Champion, challenging either Sting or the Warrior (depending on who walks out tonight with the gold) at next months Uncensored event..... .....the two competitors make their way out and much as Eric Bischoff promised when booking this match a few weeks back, the ring, under the ring, ringside area AND ringside workers are all checked to ensure that there are no signs of either JPL, the Titans of Wrestling, or anyone else that shouldn’t be out here..... .....this is going to be Randy Savage vs. Shawn Michaels.....and with the cage lowered, completely surrounding the ringside area and with a roof on no less, it will be ONLY Randy Savage vs. Shawn Michaels, with no outside interference..... .....the referee calls for the bell to get this one underway and considering the bad blood between these two men, they don’t bother with such formalities as a collar and elbow tie up.....no, they go straight to the brawling, charging across the ring and meeting each other with an exchange of punches to the face.....Michaels gets the better of the exchange initially but Savage puts a stop to his offence with a back elbow right to the jaw, before tossing his opponent right over the top rope and down to the floor..... .....that doesn’t keep Shawn down for long though and as Savage catches his breath ‘Mr. Wrestling’ rolls right back into the ring and continues to hammer the Macho Man with blows.....Michaels has Savage rocking but his eagerness costs him when he charges at his opponent, with Randy catching him with a HIGH back body drop that again sends Michaels over the top and down to the floor, only this time with such force that he collides with the wall of the cell on his landing...... .....this time Savage doesn’t waste time recuperating, instead he mounts the top rope and leaps to the outside, nailing Michaels with a huge Double Ax-Handle, before picking him right back up and bouncing him off that unforgiving steel cell..... .....the two men continue to brawl on the outside, exchanging cell shots as they both taste the steel, before Shawn retreats to the relative safety of the ring, timing it perfectly and nailing Macho with a swinging neck breaker as he re-enters the ring himself..... .....Shawn takes control briefly, working over his opponent between the ropes, before giving Savage a little taste of his own medicine as he clothesline’s Macho right over the top and to the floor below.....Michaels comes off the apron with a flying forearm type move that sends Macho crashing back first into the steel wall.....Macho looks to fight back and even tries to Irish whip Shawn into the cell.....unfortunately Michaels reverses that and sends Savage flying face first into the ring post, busting him wide open in the process, before grabbing his opponent by the head and grinding his bleeding flesh into that unforgiving steel mesh..... .....like a shark smelling blood Shawn focuses his attack on the bloody head of the Macho Man, again sending him hard into the wall of the cell.....so hard in fact that even Bobby Heenan mentions how glad he is that WCW at least had the good sense to position the announce table way, way out of the way of ringside..... .....Savage is bleeding like a stuck pig, but a bit of blood isn’t about to keep him down.....he cuts off Shawn’s offence with a good old fashioned low blow before Irish Whipping him so hard into the ring steps that the two piece set actually separates as Michaels crashes into it.....then Randy went searching underneath the ring, fishing out a number of steel chairs (one of which he smashes across the back of his opponent) before tossing them AND Shawn Michaels into the ring..... .....you would think the brutality would die down a bit now (back inside the ring) but Savage keeps up the weapon based offence, using those steel chairs to his full advantage as he works over his opponent, before making the first cover of the match, getting a close two-count for his efforts..... .....Savage wipes the blood from his eyes and sets one of those steel chairs up in the middle of the ring and takes a seat to badmouth the downed Michaels, before dragging him back to his feet by the hair.....he took a little too long to gloat however and as he picks his opponent up, Michaels is able to catch hold of the Macho Man and drop him with a back suplex (reminiscent of his old Teardrop Suplex finisher) driving him right into that chair that Savage was sitting on a moment earlier..... .....Savage rolls to the outside to catch a breather, but Michaels is right out after him.....he sends him first into the ring post, then the wall of the cell, before dragging him over to the two half’s of the steel steps.....Michaels hoists he top half of the steps up and slides it under the bottom rope and into the ring, before taking a stand on the lower portion of the steps that remain, setting Savage up for a piledriver to the steel.....fortunately for Randy he was able to backdrop out of that, leaving Shawn to land with a huge splat on the floor behind him..... .....back inside the ring and Savage again goes on the attack with a chair, nailing Michaels right between the eyes for another near fall.....Macho with an Irish Whip but Michaels ducks the clothesline attempt and runs the ropes some more before levelling Randy with the flying forearm, kipping up for good measure (with a cocky expression on his face) and then backing up into the corner to start Tuning up the Band..... .....the announcers declare that with Savage already busted wide open, this one will be all over if Michaels can hit the Sweet Chin Music.....but as he let’s fly, Macho is able to catch the foot..... .....and then kicks Michaels right in the balls for good measure..... .....Michaels goes down and Savage picks up those steel steps that Shawn slid into the ring earlier, holding them up at head height before using them as a battering ram, slamming it hard between the eyes of his opponent when he finally gets to his feet..... .....and now Michaels is busted open..... .....WIDE open..... .....both men are bloody but the Macho Man can taste victory, tossing the bleeding Shawn Michaels to the outside, where he sends him flying face first into the cell a number of times.....Michaels swings blindly at Macho but misses by a mile.....he tries a kick but Savage again catches the leg.....no low blow this time, but he does sweep Shawn‘s other leg out from under him, before catapulting him face first into the steel again, then grinds the skull against the wall of the cell for good measure..... .....Savage rolls Michaels back into the ring and then scales to the top rope, pointing high into the air as he signals for the Elbow Drop.....he doesn’t get chance to connect though, as Shawn rolls away and out of range before Randy can fly, so Macho simply drops back to the mat and crashes a chair across the back of his opponent, before scaling the top rope again..... .....again he doesn’t get to hit the elbow though.....because again Michaels rolls out of range, before pulling his bloody body back to its feet using the ropes, telling Savage to “Suck It” as he does..... .....Savage drops to the mat and grabs hold of Michaels, locking on a sleeper hold (with Bobby Heenan remarking that Shawn Michaels won’t be able to avoid the Elbow Drop if he’s put to sleep) but with Savage still holding onto the sleeper, Shawn charges towards the turnbuckles, dropping down at the last second so that Randy’s bloody face connects with the corner, breaking the hold..... .....Shawn rolls to the outside and reaches under the ring, pulling out some ladders with a weary smile.....back in the ring and he rushes the Macho Man, nailing him right between the eyes with the top of the ladders, before propping them up in the corner and Irish Whipping his opponent right into them with such force that Savage bumps right over the top rope and down to the floor..... .....the two men exchange punches on the outside, before Savage catches the upper hand by driving his opponent face first into the cage.....Savage reaches under the ring himself now, this time pulling out a table which he sets up right out there on the floor..... .....he rolls Shawn on top of the wooden structure, before heading up to the top (seemingly with ambitions of hitting that Elbow Drop finally) but again Michaels rolls to safety, leaving Savage to hit another Ax Handle from the top all the way down to the floor when he stands..... .....the two get back into the ring where they exchange offensive moves briefly, before spilling back to the outside again, where Michaels finally gets the better of the brawl, smashing Macho between the eyes with a steel chair with such force that Savage stumbles backwards and lands perfectly on top of the table..... .....Shawn climbs up onto the apron, looking to drive Savage through the wood, but stops to look at the turnbuckles.....he shakes his head no indicating that the apron just won’t cut it, before climbing up to the top rope.....looks like he’s going to try and do what Savage couldn’t a moment ago..... .....then he pauses again..... .....and looks at the ladder propped up against the opposite turnbuckles..... .....then he smiles..... .....drops to the mat..... .....and sets that ladder up right there by the ropes..... .....at Souled Out we saw Shawn Michaels send Randy Savage crashing through a wooden table, after nailing him with an elbow drop from half way up the Souled Out set.....tonight he climbs to the top of the ladder.....circles his finger around his temple in the universal “this is crazy” gesture..... .....then leaps..... .....from the top of the ladder, right down to the floor below..... .....and drives himself through Randy Savage (and the table) with the biggest Elbow Drop you ever did see..... .....the two men lay broken and bloody among the splinters of the destroyed table.....and they lay there for a while too.....in fact, had this been a standard match both men would have been counted out about a minute ago..... .....obviously this isn’t a standard match though.....and eventually a bloody Shawn Michaels drags an equally bloody Randy Savage to his feet, rolling him (with great effort) into the ring, where he makes the cover and gets the nearest near fall of the match..... .....both men are utterly spent now.....blood loss and exhaustion means that there can’t be much left in either man.....there’s still a lot of hatred there though.....and as the pair pull themselves up to a kneeling position they begin exchanging blows right there on their knees..... .....remarkably (considering he’s just gotten driven through a table from a man leaping from about fifteen feet above him on a ladder) it’s Savage that gets the upper hand in this mini brawl, finally knocking Shawn backwards with one final blow that folds the man in half..... .....sensing victory, Macho nails Shawn right between the eyes one more time, before dragging those ring-steps over and body slamming his opponent right on top of it..... .....Savage has been looking for the Flying Elbow Drop for most of the match now and as he heads up top, it looks like he’s going to try it again..... .....with Shawn Michaels still laid on top of those steel steps..... .....Savage scales the turnbuckles and points up high in the air, before looking down at the prone Michaels with a smirk, before finally leaping, looking to end this once and for all...... .....except (for the third time this evening) Shawn Michaels rolls out of range.....and after already getting driven through a wooden table, now Randy Savage crashes down hard onto those steel ring steps, driving the wind completely out of him..... .....and as he slowly pulls himself to his feet, he’s met in the middle of the ring by Shawn Michaels..... .....with some Sweet Chin Music..... .....Savage crumples to the mat.....Shawn collapses (out of sheer exhaustion, not by design) on top of him, as the official quickly drops to the mat and counts one, two, three..... .....Shawn Michaels just won this thing..... .....but he might not even know it...... "src="<a href="https://i.imgur.com/2EPs81y.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/2EPs81y.jpg"></a> .....because that FINALLY brings us to main event time, as former friends.....former partners collide.....and the Blade Runners explode with the WCW Championship is on the line..... .....we run another lengthy recap promo while they raise the cell (and Buff Bagwell gets an irate Randy Savage backstage) highlighting everything that lead up to this match.....Sting’s reluctance to trust anyone after being betrayed one too many times.....the Warrior finally breaking him down and persuading Sting to join forces with him.....the inevitable betrayal, as Warrior turned his back on Sting to become a member of the Titans of Wrestling.....and the change.....the change in BOTH men.....both men’s colourful attires replaced with simple black and white.....Sting retreating to the rafters, both men’s refusals to speak, Warrior no longer sprinting to the ring like a madman....no rope shaking.....no ‘Owwww’ from Sting.....no expressions at all from either man..... .....polar opposites, but eerily similar..... ....and now finally, six months on from the betrayal....they meet in the ring, for the richest prize in the sport..... .....Michael Buffer makes the introductions as each man makes their methodical march to the ring and as the two emotionless face painted superstars stand nose to nose in the middle of the ring, we have one hell of a visual..... ....until Sting (perhaps in an effort to prove that the Warrior didn’t break him) let’s out one of those (rarely heard) now trademark screams.....and then punches Warrior in the face..... .....and it’s on..... .....truthfully, this was always going to struggle to follow Shawn Michaels and Randy Savage.....particularly Shawn Michaels and Randy Savage inside that steel cell.....but then we knew that.....we knew that, Sting knew that, the fans knew that.....I don’t think the Warrior knew that, because.....well.....he’s the Warrior.....but everyone else knew that.....never the less, this IS for the WCW Championship and is the first high profile meeting between these two men, so it keeps the main event spot..... .....I mean, it wasn’t a horrible match.....we did keep it relatively short too (from a main event stand point) after all, we didn’t want our challenger blowing up now do we.....Warrior is known for a lot of things, but his stamina isn’t one of them..... .....he IS known for his impressive physique though....and with that impressive physique comes a lot of strength and it’s that strength that he uses to maintain the advantage for a good portion of the match.....Sting may have been able to hang in the gym with Warrior back in the day, but that was a LONG time ago.....and today (while Sting is still no slouch when it comes to working out) he’s nowhere near is peak Blade Runner days in terms of bulk and the Warrior capitalises on that..... <img style="max-width:15%; Warrior doesn’t really look like he NEEDS help about now..... .....although as he looks down at the Trinity (with Stimg still high overhead) he loses track of what he should be doing.....this gives Sting chance to wriggle free and land behind the Warrior..... .....and then drive the back of the challengers skull into the mat with the Scorpion Death Drop..... .....this time the official is a little quicker to get into position..... .....this time we DO get a three count..... .....as the WCW Championship stays firmly in the hand of Sting....AND in the hands of World Championship Wrestling..... Winner: ....and Still WCW Champion.....Sting....
