TheScott316
So HHH just got outed as making horrible comments to disabled people and just got fired from his booker position at TNA (divorced Steph right before Vince died so Steph was running WWE too!) If I hire him for my RTG company as an authority figure will I see popularity declines?
mitsukaikira
That "toxic" flag is brutal. I wouldn't hire him unless I was forced to; and then, I'd probably get a new job.

Just, don't.
Texasrangers13
AJ Styles was fired by WWE for racist remarks, I brought him back to TNA and for two years now he's been totally fine (still toxic). Sponsorship is the same/greater, popularity is stable. He's been an upper mid/main eventer. I saw no ill effects.
CQI13
Obviously only an option if you have money to burn...but what's the effect to YOU if you put him in your developmental fed?
drcat123
The toxic effect is good and bad. It's good because anything that adds more to the game is great. It's bad because it does not reflect real life alot of the time.
CQI13
It depends - the social climate as it is, it's tough to say what the effect would have been on an organization hiring (or not firing) Hulk Hogan when the comments came out had he been in his prime. It would of not matter half as much as today. It was a different time. If those comments came out when hogan nwo run. It would of not matter half as much as today. Since most people would think it was part of his character. Alot of people still would not care as much as today. The comments were horrible but I do agreed with the court. We should of not heard them from his private home. Since that kind of news is not news. It is just out to destroy someone. Which if that is what people want today. We might as well have cameras in every place in the world. I have forgave hogan but I already knew he was not a good person. He did mess up my childhood when it comes to watching old wrestling matches. Of course not as much as bill cosby.

I meant had he been in his prime when those comments came out (as in a few years ago).

I guess the best example would be what if Cena at the height of his popularity had made those comments?

You could say that TNA would have hired him (they would have if he was available I'm sure), but to be honest they were seen as a joke by then anyway.

Across sports, if Michael Vick's scandal happened today no amount of image rehab would suffice. Though it's strange what we make allowances for: Tyreek Hill went to trial and plead guilty to domestic violence and he's celebrated on the field. Ray Rice? Nah, we don't want you.
TheScott316
I wonder if the product settings and fan expectations matter. I have cult as a heavy feature so I feel like it wouldn't matter - that- much to my audience.
