I'm stuck at Cult Level after 4 years

Recommended Posts

So I'm 4 years into my ROH save, and while workers and wrestling-wise, I've been knocking it out of the park (shows always in the mid 90's, a few wrestlers in the 90's in popularity), I've had a really hard time translating that into a gain in popularity and importance.

The Sinclair Group are preventing me from getting any broadcasting deal in the US, so I'm stuck with Comet TV (Very Small in all regions of USA) as my only US broadcaster for Events and TV.

As a result, I have a good deal with Starchoice for PPVs and CityTV for TV shows, but those only air in Canada, so I've been skyrocketting in popularity and importance in Canada, but have been terribly stagnant in the US.

So my question is this: I have to achieve at least 65 of importance in 8 regions of America. Does that count Canada ? And if not, how could I improve my Importance in the US when I have poor broadcasting deals ?

Cult to National takes a long time even with good broadcasting deals. Since you're owned by a broadcasting company they obviously don't want you to be putting a product they own on another station.

That might help you a little bit in the long run.

It does not really take a long time to get to cult level. If you book good and alot of shows. Money is something you will always have in tew. If you are in the negative and you are still booking shows. It takes forever to go bankrupt actually. It works the same in tew 2016. Just book events. If you are cult. You should be making money off of them. I do a tv show and 2 events each week. My problem with national is the drop down bug that happens alot. It raises you up as soon as you hit national in tew. The problem is if you don't book a show for a week. You get hit with that little bit of loss of pop over that week. Which is just enough to drop you back down to cult level. You can't go back to national for 6mths.

If you are truly wanting to gain more popularity in the us.

Simply go to the editor and raise up sinclair network range. We have been wanting networks to gain levels for years. Yeah you can do it manually now. It is not the same as them gaining experience. After 4 years they properly should have grown anyway.

If you book good and alot of shows. - It does... but measuring it in shows is better than doing so in time. As the user says, he s running three major shows a month between TV and events [though thinking about that in real terms, it's a horrible business plan] and your popularity gains will vary depending on show quality, coverage, type of network aired on, the wrestling industry, local economy, company momentum and trending product. It can take hundreds of shows to go from low level cult to national depending on how well you are doing with all of these factors.

Money is something you will always have in tew. If you are in the negative and you are still booking shows. It takes forever to go bankrupt actually. It works the same in tew 2016. - Manage your finances well and prepare in advance for any jump in size or network that you are going to make. The jump from regional to cult is the most financially difficult in the game and historically has killed off several companies in the real world. Events will get larger crowds to attend but you will need TV to get good PPV buy rates... and while attendances are lower for TV shows than for events, you can also get good TV revenue. If you go into the red, cut costs and try to get back into the black as fast as possible. While a company can survive in negative finances for a while, it's not a good sign for your business strategy. By time you are headingo the high end of cult you should be fairly comfortably making money but you should still be ready for some potential national pitfalls.

Just book events. Which is just enough to drop you back down to cult level. You can't go back to national for 6mths. - There is no bug. You have already been told all the potential causes of a drop in size from National. The two main ones are regional importance dropping by a point in an area that you are only borderline eligible to be national in... this can cause you to lose enough importance to fall to cult. The other cause is losing a National Battle, which there is an entire screen for detailing how close you are to winning this. If you don't win, you can lose popularity so if you are only just above national then you are likely to fall in size. There is no loss of popularity just from not holding a show in a week. There never has been in Adam's games dating as far back as the EWR games 15 years ago. There never will be, because it wouldn't make sense to be there.

To counter the two potentil issues outlined above, you can set your maximum company size to Cult for a while in order to build up something of a popularity cushion. Being National tends to open up better TV and PPV deals and the rise will give you more prestige and momentum (helpful for workers choosing to work for you instead of other companies) but the risk of falling to Cult again when you are on the edge is definitely there. Look at your competition, come up with a plan and decide what is best for you.

If you are truly wanting to gain more popularity in the us.

Simply go to the editor and raise up sinclair network range. After 4 years they properly should have grown anyway. - Changing the size via the editor would help as the size of the network can be a limiting factor in popularity gains. But as for the suggestion made her for companies to grow in size, that isn't realistic. Just because a network is around a lot doesn't mean it's a bigger network... network size is meant to take into account potential viewers, market share, reputation, target audience and more... if a network is in every home but no-one watches it, then it's still tiny in size. There is no evidence that Sinclair is growing in size just by being around and adding some new affiliates... their shows aren't actually being seen by more people, they are still being seen by roughly the same number.

One issue for TEW and modern mods is that TV networks on their own are falling in size due to the sheer amount of competition for market share and the rise of on demand subscription services. In TEW this would mean few networks having greater than Big for their coverage, making it harder for companies to get particularly popular in the first place due to the effects of network coverage on their TV revenue, popularity gains and PPV buys.

A far better, more complete and helpful answer with the reasoning behind things, fact checking and mistakes corrected. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png">
