The history of the rise of the Pro Wrestling industry from its beginnings in 1920

Recommended Posts

1960 January Week 1

1960 marks a more detailed time for the industry as broadcasting deals and the size of the global industry continues to expand.

EPW Essex Professional Wrestling opened its doors in the south of England.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d46/stuartmwilson/tew/EPW/epw6_zpsdztkrycx.jpg

Marcus Bigshot Ledding a young film star declared he had always had a dream of starting his own wrestling company seeing it as playing to his acting and stuntman strengths.

Apparently he is only putting up 49% of the ownership with two silent partners funding the remainder.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d46/stuartmwilson/tew/EPW/Marcus%20film%20poster%201_zpskzrwrsqi.jpg

Aged just 19 it will be interesting to see if he can make a success of this venture whilst keeping step with his movie career.

EPW launch their own Dojo as well

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d46/stuartmwilson/tew/EPW/EPW%20essex%20training%20camp_zpsf8z2axgn.jpg

They sign a local broadcasting deal for their first weekly show airing live every Monday night.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d46/stuartmwilson/tew/EPW/EPW%20Power%20Hour_zpsmzmj0nmd.jpg

*Note EPW opening now was not intentional, the AI had someone else open the company and by the time I noticed it was too late so made a ownership tweak and decided to let the AI run with it until 1980 as originally planned.

1960 February Week 1

*update

I will not be updating the lost photos from Photobucket as whilst nice colour they were not material to this diary. (I may change some key ones)

I will be adding images going forwards especially as I drag closer and closer to taking over EPW (if still in business) at the start of 1980.

As always comments more than welcome. I do plan to start expanding the storylines as we get into 1979 so there is a gradual ramp up before we go live so to speak but if I start now it is very doubtful I will maintain traction to keep it live!
