Booker T© vs Scott Steiner

Comments: Steiner as champion leaves with so many possibilities, rather than wasting all your future main event heels on a Booker run, you can make sure you use some ageing faces and build up your heel stars

Kevin Nash vs Jeff Jarrett

Comments: It makes sense for Double J to run his way through the legends of WCW before falling short to the Icon himself

Steel Cage Match: Sting vs Ric Flair

Comments: I foresee a Lawler interference here, that feud is bubbling like a hot cauldron at the moment

Rey Mysterio vs Rick Steiner©

Comments: Going with the Steiner Bros on top is a good way to make them a formidable threat, that with the Thrillers composes four very strong heels holding the three major titles

Billy Kidman vs Shane Douglas

Comments: The fact there is no real build for this indicates it's a match solely for putting Douglas over

DDP vs Lance Storm

Comments: Builds DDP up as the all-American babyface first in line to face Big Poppa Pump as champion

RVD vs Road Warrior Animal

Comments: Either team Animal with Hawk for a legacy run, or release him. Having him jobbing out is no good for anyone

The Natural Born Thrillers© vs Totally Buffed

Comments: They need to be utterly despised as champions, keeping the belts by all means possible until someone finally topples them

Dustin Rhodes vs Kanyon

Comments: Kanyon arguably deserves it more, but Dustin is the more established star at this point

“Sugar” Shane Helms© vs Chavo Guerrero Jr.

Comments: Sugah Shane should only be toppled when a star cruiserweight comes in

Comments: Booker got muscular, right? Now he's not normal, just like Scotty. It's 50-50 now, holler if you can dig it

RVD vs Road Warrior Animal

Comments: No brainer dude

The Natural Born Thrillers© vs Totally Buffed

Comments: Despite O'Haire getting chubby NBT shall retain

Comments: A staright man that acted gay for a long time and a gay man who acted straight for as long. That could be a good tag team, but Kanyon's a bit betta

“Sugar” Shane Helms© vs Chavo Guerrero Jr.

Comments: Chavo would look stupid if he loses here

Chavo seemed to get more on Shane’s nerves this time, as the champ was upset that he slithered into another title shot. This anger came to cost Helms, as he seemed to prepare Chavo for the Vertebreaker, before the referee reminded him it was banned! Chavo snuck out, and nailed a Vertebreaker of his own! Huh!? New champ!

POST MATCH:

The announcers are even confused here - they thought that move was banned! “The Professor” MIKE TENAY brings up a great point - was only Helms banned from using that move? Dustin brought his old school brawling style to this contest - relying on his fists and the Rhodes’ signature cowbell to damage Kanyon. But the innovator of offense was just too much for dustin, as Kanyon spiked him with a Kanyon Cutter to seal the deal.

POST MATCH:

A referee checks on Dustin after the match, as we cut to replays of some of Kanyon's more innovative moves. TONY leads the charge, putting Kanyon over as an unpredictable force.

WINNER VIA PINFALL AT 8:22

http://i.imgur.com/6I7vnE3s.jpg

KANYON

http://i.imgur.com/m8qoCvst.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/RkMe4bKs.jpg

MATCH 3:

For The WCW Tag Team Championships

Natural Born Thrillers© vs Totally Buffed

THE MATCH:

Boy, those boys love to flex. Lex and Buff were enamored with themselves, flexing after every move and talking/posing for the camera. The Thrillers were more down to business - being the Bad Asses that they are. The pride of Totally Buffed caused their fall in this matchup, as Lex Luger intense posing allowed Chuck Palumbo to smack him with a Super Kick for the victory!

POST MATCH:

Buff runs into the ring to check on the state of Lex’s face, but honestly seems to be more invested in getting some camera time. The Thrillers are pumped though, as they just took down two very notable WCW names.

WINNERS VIA PINFALL AT 9:20

http://i.imgur.com/hiqizpws.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/VQjXKX8s.jpg

THE NATURAL BORN THRILLERS©

http://i.imgur.com/F2zCFT8t.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/RkMe4bKs.jpg

MATCH 4:

A Good First Impression

Rob Van Dam vs Road Warrior Animal

THE MATCH:

Road warrior looked to use his toughness to overpower the newcomer in this matchup, but found that Rob could deliver hard shots with the same intensity. Ric seems to be unable to escape the wrath of Jerry Lawler, who’s he had beef with since Lawler’s WCW re-debut. Some expected this to be a prolific match, as the two did not disappoint. These two put on the best match since WCW’s return(and the best match in WCW until October - spoilers), as Sting was able to make a bloody Flair submit to the Scorpion Deathlock.

POST MATCH:

Sting soaks in the crowd’s applause as he waits for Naitch to get to his feet. The two hand some words and a staredown, before shaking hands and hugging to the crowd’s cheers. These two may never really settle their beef, but the respect these two share for each other is immense.

WINNER VIA SUBMISSION AT 17:00

http://i.imgur.com/J9rdsYVs.jpg

STING

http://i.imgur.com/WUc0R5Pt.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/RkMe4bKs.jpg

MATCH 6:

For the Love of Torrie

Billy Kidman vs "The Franchise" Shane Douglas(w/ Torrie Wilson)

THE MATCH:

No viagra or any poles here, folks. Douglas and Kidman were able to have a serious match this time. Highlights saw Shane utilize his old school style against the agile Kidman, while taking the time to nag Torrie. Torrie responded in the best way she could, hopping on the ring apron to distract “The Franchise”. This allowed Billy to nail a bulldog, setting Douglas up for a Shooting Star Press. Still on the apron, Torrie starts to cheer, before she’s yanked down…

http://i.imgur.com/xJHRMBes.jpg

By FRANCINE! A hard slap puts Torrie out for the count, as Billy checks on his woman. Douglas takes advantage of this, putting down Kidman with a Belly to Belly for the victory.

POST MATCH:

Shane is all smiles, as he calls his NEW manager Francine into the ring. Francine and Shane soak in the jeers from the audience, as Billy checks on his girl, Torrie.

WINNER VIA PINFALL AT 10:25

http://i.imgur.com/B3L9CTgs.jpg

"THE FRANCHISE" SHANE DOUGLAS

http://i.imgur.com/h61hXTZt.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/RkMe4bKs.jpg

MATCH 6:

USA vs Canada

Diamond Dallas Page vs Lance Storm

THE MATCH:

This match could prove to have huge implications for the United States Championship as two former champs fought in this midcard bout. Storm looked to spoil the fun of all of the Americans in the audience, but DDP represented the good Ol’ U.S of A after dropping Lance with a Diamond Cutter.

POST MATCH:

DDP is happy to get a pay per view victory, as he grabs the nearest US Flag and waves it for the crowd! The “Dog-Faced Gremlin”(again, I can’t get over that nickname) overpowered Rey on numerous occasions in this contest. But, little Rey kept fighting, proving he belonged to fight where “the big boys play”. Rick looked to finish Rey off with a “Steiner Driver”, but Rey slipped out and rolled up Rick to take the gold!

POST MATCH:

Rey exits the ring quick before Rick Steiner really realizes what happened, and he hops into the crowd! The Maryland crowd show Rey some love as Rey proved, at least for tonight, that he can hang with the heavyweights.

WINNER, AND NEW UNITED STATES CHAMPION, VIA PINFALL AT 11:48

http://i.imgur.com/JQM7ELys.jpg

REY MYSTERIO

http://i.imgur.com/2MjlATFt.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/RkMe4bKs.jpg

MATCH 7:

No More Fossils...

Kevin Nash vs Jeff Jarrett

THE MATCH:

“Big sexy” was heated in this matchup, looking to get revenge on the man who screwed him over last month. Due to the size difference, Jarrett was forced to play possum, until knocking Nash down with a chop block and working the knee. Jarrett couldn’t keep the big man down though, as nash came back like a house of fire until a ref bump. Jarrett managed to gain advantage with a low blow, and smashed his guitar over Nash’s head - just as the referee awoke! DQ!

POST MATCH:

Jarrett has no regrets about losing his match, he came here to make a statement. Nash regains his standing, and we see the that shot busted him open! A bloody Nash stares Jarrett down from the ring, ready to get some more!

WINNER VIA DQ AT 15:23

http://i.imgur.com/PNrnUVHs.jpg

KEVIN NASH

http://i.imgur.com/PtLGyrAt.jpg

MAIN EVENT

FOR THE WCW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

THE MATCH

This was Booker T’s first real test since his return from injury, as “Big Poppa Pump” targeted the injured shoulder of the champ. Steiner’s array of suplexes but the pressure on Booker, who still manages to kick out and fight back. The duo trade near falls, as Booker responds to Steiner’s suplexes with kicks and even an Harlem Hangover. Big Poppa Pump’s toughness kept him in this contest, but he just couldn’t put Booker away. A huge Book End crushed Steiner’s hopes at playing spoiler, as it put Scott down for the count!

POST MATCH:

Booker T is so glad to see his gold again, despite selling his shoulder injury. Booker T© vs Scott Steiner

Kevin Nash vs Jeff Jarrett vs Sting

Jerry Lawler vs Ric Flair

Comments: If we were in Memphis, I'd go with The King but I don't think Naitch is gonna lose to a outside legend like Lawler on his home turf, WCW.

Natural Born Thrillers© vs Totally Buffed

Rey Mysterio© vs Shane Douglas

Chavo Guerrero Jr.© vs Shane Helms

Comments: No disqualifications, no way for Helms to be punished for using the Vertebreaker? I think there's a loophole here.

RVD & The Sandman vs Road Warrior Animal & Fit Finlay

Comments: Wouldn't be surprised if we see an EXTREME celebration after this match with some EXTREME friends to make an EXTREME reunion.

DDP vs. Kanyon

Comments: Since it's not for #1 contender status to the US Title, I'll go with the King of Bada Bing.

Alex Wright & Dustin Rhodes vs The Braintrust(w/ Bobby Heenan)

Comments: Looking forward to seeing Heenan's studs go head to head with their old NBT buddies soon. Awaiting Dustin to just snap on someone.

Booker T - As I said last time, Booker gives the belt some good stability.

Sting - The Stinger could just have one more solid run in him if he isn't declining too badly. Also, no one wants to see Booker vs. Jarrett.

Jerry Lawler - As much as I love Naitch, Lawler is a breath of fresh air to WCW. He picks up the win to look great for the new company.

NBT - As with Booker, the NBT make great, stable champs to build the titles up, as opposed to Buff, who could potentially wig out at any point.

Shane Douglas - He can definitely make a solid main event/upper midcard heel player, so he cheats to win the title here and goes on to face anyone who isn't aligned right to Booker.

Shane Helms - After last month's "tainted" win, Helms gets his revenge.

RVD/Sandman - It's an extreme invasion!

DDP - As with Sting, as long as Page isn't declining too badly then he could make another strong run for the top.

Braintrust - I like that name a lot.

Helms was hot on Chavo’s tail throughout the whole match, embracing the no-dq environment to make some creative spots. Chavo hung in there with Helms, targeting Helms’ leg with some weapon shots to hopefully injure him. Helms had too much will to let the injury get the best of him however, nailing a sick Vertebreaker onto a ladder! The stage seemed set for Shane as he began to climb to the top of the ladder when…

http://i.imgur.com/TAquHKps.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/Q1UsBqns.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/2clfj6As.jpg

THE UNHOLY ALLIANCE RUSH IN TO PUSH THE LADDER OVER, SENDING HELMS THROUGH A TABLE ON THE OUTSIDE! Ric Flair uses some dirty tactics, hitting a low blow, before the Figure Four grabs him the submission victory.

POST MATCH:

Buff runs into the ring to check on the state of Lex’s face, but honestly seems to be more invested in getting some camera time. She smiles at Buff, as the match begins! Lex and Buff continue their arrogant ways, as Buff’s cockiness is encouraged by the lovely Stacy. However, Lex’s struggles continue to be evident, as Stacy scowles when the Thrillers take advantage of Buff’s partner. Buff eventually gets the hint, as he leaves Lex all by himself, hopping off the apron! Both Nash and Sting are happy to beat up on Jarrett, but eventually come to blows themselves! After some mad brawling and controlled chaos, Jeff Jarrett managed to hit Sting with a Stroke! He’s been told to take the night off to heal up, but he’s gotta retain his belt! Steiner doesn’t give a ****, he’s here to kick Booker’s ass! Steiner takes full advantage of Booker’s injury, trying his hardest to make sure Booker can’t stand.

Sorry for the week long hiatus folks! I have no plans on stopping this one, just had a loaded week. To the update!

State of the Locker Room:

It's honestly been a pretty quiet month in WCW. Ratings are going up, so that's good. The only thing that is hurting us on an International level is having no broadcasting deals in Canada(a problem that will continue to haunt me...)

Booker T isn't actually hurt, but he's just getting a break for a little bit. He's been solely used in angles leading up to AAO, promising to be there live for the show.

A quiet month for signings too.
