A few notes about this project.

We begin in December 2002. For the purposes of overall gameplay we’re going to do a little hand waving so far as we’re considering our first night to be the night after Survivor Series 2002. tl;dr----Nothing that happened in real life following Survivor Series will have occurred.

We will not be simulating the ‘B’ shows. For all intents and purposes, the dark matches before PPVs could be considered to have happened on Sunday Night Heat.

As far as the breakdown, I’ll be handling RAW while Kimberly will be handling Smackdown and obviously we’ll be working together on joint PPVs, etc. We do share the same developmental system but that might change down the road.

The 2003 era has always interested us as a chance for redemption following the dumpster fire which was the InVasion. We hope you’ll enjoy our take on it.

[A video recap of the Survivor Series is shown, focusing on the Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight Championship. It’s followed by the usual RAW opening, and finally JR and the King welcome us to Monday Night RAW but they don’t get to say much else before the music of Triple H fills the arena.]

Grade: 88

[Triple H and Ric Flair come down to the ring and the former champ is hot. He grabs the mic and demands his title rematch. He says Shawn Michaels got lucky and that he went into the Chamber with an injury to begin with but tonight he will take back what belongs to him. Michaels’ music hits and he comes to the top of the stage. He says some things never change. Triple H always has an excuse or something to blame for losing instead of himself. But he’ll gladly give him another opportunity to lose and complain and says he’ll see Triple H in the ring later tonight.]

[backstage we see Eric Bischoff on the phone. From his side of the conversation he appears to be talking to Scott Steiner. He says it’ll be like old times and he’ll see him at Armageddon. When they hang up, Bischoff looks very confidant and full of himself.]

[backstage, RVD is hanging out being a laid back dude when William Regal and Lance Storm come up and question why he’s here if he’s not ready to fight. RVD says he’s always ready to fight and if they want a match that’s all they have to say. Regal says find a partner and they’ll teach him a proper lesson. RVD says they ought to be careful what they ask for.]

The Dudley Boys vs 3 Minute Warnng w/Rico

If you’re looking for technical skills you’re out of luck. These two teams brawl from the opening bell and though each man gets into the match legally it’s an even match which eventually spills out of the ring. Jamal flattens D-Von while Bubba and Rosey who are the legal men battle up the ramp. The referee reaches ten and calls for the bell.

Winners: None--Double Count Out.

WWF Women’s Championship

Victoria © w/Steven Richards vs Jacqueline

Jacqueline displays her normal tenacity in taking on the new champ but Victoria matches her and thanks to some outside help from Richards gains the upperhand. She goes on the attack not holding anything back and eventually ends the match with a Widow’s Peak.

Winner and still WWF Women’s Champion: Victoria

Regal and Storm look at each other, now not so confidant.]

William Regal and Lance Storm vs Rob Van Dam and Rhyno

Regal and Storm try and keep RVD in their corner and it works early on but soon Van Dam pulls out some stiff kicks and makes the tag to his partner. Rhyno blasts both opponents with a double clothesline, and follows it up with several powerful attacks on Storm who is the legal man. RVD gets back in with a tag, hitting his signature moves. When Regal tries to get the referee’s attention Rhyno gores him, taking him out of action. RVD climbs to the top and comes off with the Five Star Frog Splash for the win.

Batista vs Maven

You can spell this match s-q-u-a-s-h. Batista runs through Maven, literally, in under a minute by first decimating him with a clothesline that sends him helicoptering in the middle of the ring, then just as quick he’s planted with a Batista Bomb.

Winner: Batista

World Heavyweight Championship

Shawn Michaels © vs Triple H w/Ric Flair

The crowd is hyped for this one and they don’t disappoint. From the opening bell they’re at war, with Triple H controlling the early moments but the champion makes a comeback, including knocking the Nature Boy off the apron when he tries to distract the referee. On a roll, Michaels floors Triple H with a series of running forearms, then climbs to the top and nails a big elbow but Triple H manages to get his foot on the bottom rope at the last second. Unseen by the referee, Flair low blows Michaels from the outside, allowing Triple H to mount a comeback but when Michaels ducks a clothesline, he bounds off the ropes and both men clothesline each other. Laying flat on the mat the referee begins his ten count but he doesn’t get past three when…

Kane comes down to the ring, and when both men get to their feet, he grabs each with a hand and drops them both with a double chokelslam. The referee has no alternative but to call for the bell.

Winner: None--No Contest

[Kane isn’t done as he batters both men, delivering another chokeslam to Triple H. When he turns, HBK attempts some Sweet Chin Music but Kane catches his foot, then scoops him up in a Tombstone piledriver and plants him. As the show ends Kane causes the turnbuckles to explode and is standing over both men looking like a true monster.]

Hurricane and Richards along with some officials separate them, literally picking them up to do so. The women want to continue but it doesn't happen again.]

Booker T w/Goldust Lance Storm w/William Regal

Booker and Storm trade the advantage in the first half of the match. Regal aids his partner from the outside which draws in Goldust but also the ref allowing for a quick double team on the other end. Finally Booker regains his footing, and strings together a few moves, putting Storm on his heels. When he hits the ropes, Regal tries to trip him but this time Goldust hits him with a lariat. Booker bounces off the ropes and nails the scissor kick for the win.

Winner: Booker T

[Eric Bischoff is in his office when Triple H and Ric Flair burst in. Triple H is furious about Kane and demands that Bischoff do something about it and make it right. He says he deserves another shot at the title. Bischoff says that he agrees, Triple H should get another shot and he's going to find Kane and set things straight. Triple H leaves but Flair hangs back and tells Bischoff he better fix it tonight. Bischoff sneers and promises Flair that he will.]

Batista vs Tommy Dreamer

Batista is all over Dreamer as soon as the bell rings, battering him from corner to corner. Dreamer tries to fight back but try as he might, Batista's pure strength and fury carry him through and soon he delivers a devastating powerbomb for the obvious victory.

Winner: Batista

[Following the match Batista won't stop, delivering another powerbomb. He's about to pick up Dreamer for another when Jeff Hardy runs down to the ring but Batista swats him away. Hardy goes to the outside, collects a chair, then goes back into the ring, smacking Batista three times allowing officials to pull Dreamer from the ring before he exits as well. Batista stares him down with a wild eyed gaze, seemingly unfazed from the chairs.]

[bischoff finds Kane in a back room down in the basement of the arena. He says that while he cannot condone what Kane did last week...damn was it exciting and at Armageddon it'll be a triple threat. Michaels defending against Triple H....and Kane. Oh, and one more thing. Bischoff has never liked Ric Flair so tonight in the main event, it'll be Flair versus Kane. Bischoff mentions he'd like to see the same kind of excitement tonight before leaving Kane alone.]

[The show is interrupted by the RNN logo. Randy Orton appears on the Titantron and lets everyone know that his return is on track and he'll be back in the ring very soon but incase they've forgotten, he has a small reminder for them. Christian, Chris Jericho and 3 Minute Warning vs The Dudley Boyz, Rob Van Dam, and Rhyno

The Dudleys still look hobbled, but they put up their normal fight. The match switches from pure brawling to some technical aspects but flows nicely. Eventually RVD gets the hot tag, cleans house, and when Jericho looks to take control, Rhyno makes a blind tag and when Jericho turns around he catches a Gore from the manbeast allowing the faces to pick up the win.

Winners: The Dudley Boys, Rob Van Dam and Rhyno

[backstage Ric Flair is getting ready. Triple H begins to offer some advice and gameplan saying they'll both jump Kane but Flair stops him and says he'll deal with Kane tonight because nobody in the arena thinks he can starting with Bischoff so the Nature Boy is going to go out there and shove it straight up Bischoff's ass. WOOOOOO! He leaves but Triple H looks very concerned.]

Ric Flair vs Kane

Flair stands face to face with Kane as the bell rings and begins chopping him over and over but Kane just stands there and takes it. Flair can't believe it but soon Kane slings him into the corner and goes to town on him. Flair hits all his usual spots and is in a lot of trouble. Triple H comes down to ringside just as Kane picks up Flair and delivers a big Tombstone. He makes the cover watching Triple H all the way.

Winner: Kane

[Triple H climbs up on the apron, staring down Kane when Michaels comes down the ramp and helps dump him over the rope into the ring. Kane snatches him up and delivers a big choke slam. Michaels stays on the outside, locking eyes with Kane as the show goes off the air.]

For this is Paul Heyman’s Kingdom and the Big Show is the enforcer of his throne and if Steiner comes here, the Champ will bury him alive. She says she is glad that the Big Show did not injure Lesnar because it would truly be something horrific for Smackdown if that happened. Which is why, until he is medically cleared, Brock Lesnar will not be permitted to be at Smackdown any longer. Stephanie says she is doing this not to punish Brock, but to save him from himself, and to protect Smackdown’s long term investment. And should Brock Lesnar defy Stephanie, should he decide to come to Smackdown before WWE’s medical staff clears him, Brock Lesnar will forfeit his rematch for the WWE Championship. But, for the Big Show, he has to make it past Kurt Angle at Armageddon and the WWE Champion will get a sense of what the Olympic Gold Medalist can do when, next week on Smackdown, The Big Show will compete with Kurt Angle in a Non-Title Matchup only 3 days before their title match at Armageddon. </p><p> </p><p> That’s if the Big Show even makes it to next week as WWE Champion. She comes out and says she is here for a few reasons with the first being that given the carnage of the last few weeks she has a warning to Kurt Angle and The Big Show. Their WWE Championship Match this Sunday at Armageddon is to go off without a hitch. And yes, they will compete tonight in a non-title match, but to ensure that it is a straight up wrestling contest and to prevent any shenanigans that Big Show and Heyman may have planned, the entire Smackdown locker room will be outside the ring because our main event tonight is now a LUMBERJACK MATCH. </p><p> </p><p> The second announcement is that since Los Guerrero’s and Edge and Rey Mysterio have taken an interest in each other they will settle their issues this Sunday when the WWE Tag Team Champions, Los Guerreros, defend their titles against Rey Mysterio& Edge. </p><p> </p><p> The final announcement is that in two weeks, 2002 will end and 2003 will be here. It will be the dawn of a new year as Smackdown starts the car to the road to Wrestlemania. And an episode that big needs to be special. An episode that big needs to be unpredictable. An episode that big, Smackdown’s first episode of the new year…needs to be LIVE! That’s right, Smackdown will present its very first Live episode to ring in 2003 in two weeks where we can promise, anything, anything can happen. </p><p> </p><p> Enjoy tonight’s final show before Armageddon.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade: 92 </strong></p><p> </p><p> ===============================================</p><p> </p><p> In the back we see Chris Benoit warming up. They hype up Smackdown LIVE in two weeks, as well as the main event between Kurt Angle and the Big Show now being a Lumberjack match. They also inform us that two decisions were just made by the office of Stephanie McMahon: the first is that this Sunday Jamie Noble will get his final shot at WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Billy Kidman. Rikishi is not here tonight but we can confirm that he will be at Armageddon this Sunday…this cues John Cena’s music as he comes down to the announce table. </p><p> </p><p> He grabs a microphone and says that he couldn’t help but overhear Michael Cole’s announcement that Rikishi is fine and will be at Armageddon this Sunday. Well that is good for John Cena, but that is bad for Rikishi. You see, fat man, last week was your chance. Last week was the one shot you had at making it out of this company with your health intact. But now? Now your time is up and you’re out of chances. John Cena is the *real* next big thing around here. John Cena will soon be the franchise player of Smackdown and Rikishi is just a joke. Every time the Olympic champion gets back into this match, Show throws him out to the heels who beat him down. For the first few times the officials are able to separate and keep order and when the Big Show tries it for the 3rd time, Angle ducks and throws Show over the ropes to the floor of the faces. They go after the Champion and the heels rush over and now its craziness. Angle goes to the top rope and flies off taking out everyone, the champion in the process. Soon Angle and Big Show are back in the ring and now theyre really going at it and trading near falls. Angle goes for the Angle Slam but Heyman gets on the ring apron, this distracts Angle and allows the Big Show to hit the chokeslam. 1..2….Kurt Angle kicks out at the last minute. Big Show tries to go for it again but this time Angle rolls out of it and delivers a surprising German suplex. He goes for the Angle Lock but again, Heyman is on the apron. Angle goes to him and decks him and then, realizing the set up, ducks under a punch attempt by the Big Show, hits the Angle Slam. 1…2…3.</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="color:#000080;">Winner: Kurt Angle</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade: 79</strong></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> ===============================================</p><p> </p><p> Following the match, The Big Show is furious and goes after Angle. This brings Edge and Rey into the ring to try to help Kurt and they all three attack The Big Show. Soon Los Guerreros are in the ring to try to help, and soon Kidman and Noble are in the ring and, suddenly, its chaos as the competitors who are facing off this Sunday are fighting each other now. The other lumberjacks are also fighting around the ring and Smackdown goes off the air with chaos as officials flood the ring to try to calm everything with Tazz and Cole screaming about the end indeed being here and urging everyone to not miss Armageddon this Sunday on Pay Per View. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade: 81</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Overall Show Grade: 83 </strong></p>
