Size Drop Despite Meeting Criteria?

Recommended Posts

Little confused here. I was at International Size, had a VERY successful PPV, and suddenly I get the notice about 3 days later that I've entered a shocked state and fell to National size. However, this is what my size screen shows for importance.

Unless I'm missing something, I still meet all the criteria for International size, don't I (National size in both the UK and Europe, Cult size in Japan and the US)? On top of that, I'm still the #1 promotion in the world after my fall, still have 90 prestige (was at 100 before fall) and 89 momentum, and looking at the tracking screen I didn't lose any popularity anywhere. Any ideas?

Importance is rounded up so a slight change in one of your home area's importance might've dropped one of those 71's to like 70.5-70.9. Check the editor and see if that is the case.

That's hard to say, though it'd be strange since I've not had a single month where I haven't gained overall popularity (editor has me at 85.7% in all regions of the UK) and the UK economy and industry are both rising (and have been for a couple of months now).

My best advice is padded every show. International level every show should be above 90. So always just put a bunch of videos after the main event. International level is when the game starts getting boring to me. You cant really work a whole roster anymore. You have to book stars over and over again.

If you lost a battle there is why you dropped in size. The battles can be vicious at high levels

They can be, but might not be. I've lost 7 straight national battles to WCW, as WWF in my 1994 save, but I'm still at International level.

No battles, I'm the only national sized promotion in the UK and Europe. I already get around 90 or above for every show, except my B show. The pressure is certainly a lot higher, but really not seeing why I dropped still.

If you're really sure none of the proposed options are why you dropped, you should post this issue in the Technical issues tread, and maybe send a copy of your save game to Adam.

You really don't need b show at your level. Just put some main eventers on the brand. So you got the angles and the main events covered. The rest of the show can be used to build wrestlers. Booking times off you won't have any problems making the 90's rating.

Well, I don't like disabling bookings times. The only in-game rule I've disabled is people complaining about being left off shows, because I got tired of having to book every single person to every event or risk people complaining. B show gives me a lot more flexibility, especially when I started my Crusierweight division back in 2017 and now that I've started a Women's division.

As far as sending the save, I have to accept it's possible that one of my 71s is at like 70.9 or something I suppose. I really don't want to waste Adam's time if it is something that dumb. If I see one of those 71s tick up to 72 and I'm still having the issue, I'll pass it along. Was just hoping someone might know of something I missed, but so far seems it's the same checkboxes I've gone through. Any other theories are welcome, thanks for everyone's responses so far. :)

This is probably your answer, right here. What marsupial311 failed to clarify though is that regional importance fluctuates randomly. So probably either Scotland or Central England (or both) dropped in importance and that brought you below 71.0 in one (or both) of those regions. This is not related in any way to your company's performance or momentum.

To check this, find your exact popularity in those regions in the editor (which will show it to one decimal point) and multiply those by the [current regional importance values divided by 100] to find your exact importance values for those regions.

If this shows that your importance in those regions has not in fact, dropped below 71.0, then yeah, repost this in the technical support forum. Otherwise, this is just legit bad luck in the game.

Yep, that appears to be it. When I do that math I'm at like 70.8 for both Scotland and Northern England. That's really unfortunate, as that means the regional importance for those areas dropped despite both the economy and industry rising. It would be nice if the range to drop back was a bit further than the range to increase to prevent rubberbanding, but overall this isn't the end of the world (in fact, my profits will probably be even higher from reduced costs of being National size for a brief period).

Thanks again everyone!
