How do you guys deal with bidding wars? It seems very blind at the moment.

Im playing wwf in 1996 and offered Yokozuna 34k, im told a rival has made a bid so i increase my offer, they increase theirs, i increase mine, he signs for them.

Surely it should be like an auction where you know the bid your up against and have the option to up or fold your offer at anytime?

It just seems very random and favours the AI enormously.

Edit: Just been i formed there is a 'view rival offer' button. Damn how did i miss this all this time?

The view rival bid button doesn't always work though. Vince McMahon at least in my game usually has a very strict limit to how much you can offer to each guy. And usually it's less than what the rival is offering unless it's someone really big like say John Cena who's worth more than the whole roster of ROH combined. But the most common problem I run into with this is Vince saying "You can't offer him more than 20,000" and the rival is offering 23,000 so I'm outta luck if I'm not willing to give them creative control. I've even had a situation where I offered a wrestler the max amount that Vince was willing to, then my rival increased their offer and I went to only add creative control to it with the exact same amount of money and Vince said "nope, that's too much money"

<p>I can't say for sure with the C Verse cos I've rarely run into it but yeah I almost always play RW mods as an owner now because of stuff like this. I remember a TEW 10 save where I offered CM Punk literally everything I could but TNA just kept outbidding me. </p><p> </p><p>

No idea how TNA had that kind of money offering literal millions a year but eh that's mods I guess. At least when they signed him they turned him heel and had him lose his debut. That's the TNA I know and love</p>

I've had those issues with both Vince and Eric Bischoff, both not wanting me to offer more than the rival. That's why I always play as owner, so no one can tell me how much I can offer anyone <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>I've had the issue too where Vince would veto an offer. Thankfully he left and Stephanie took over. She seems to be much more lenient and lets me do and pay practically whatever I want.</p><p> </p><p>

She does go over me though and resigns people I was about to let go. It's really annoying when I try to reduce roster size.</p>

And that's all part of the game. Sometimes you will have bosses that don't give you a blank check. Sometimes it's more fun because it makes it more challenging and you have to come up with alternative ideas. That's why I've been playing more recently with owner goals turned on. I would never start the game as an actual owner unless it was a WCW mod from 2001 with Bischoff, or unless I buy a promotion.

Gamey, but if there's someone you absolutely want off the roster then resign them to a PPA with one appearance.

I just wish bidding wars were more realistic. If you play a split game whoever goes last gets the worker since they get the last chance to offer

You could fix that with a rule system in those games about bidding. A commish that secretly takes one bid and then everyone submits that bid.
