FATE Wrestling

Episode #3

Pre-Show: reDRagon defeated PPrAy in 5:50 when Bobby Fish defeated 'Pretty' Peter Avalon by submission with a Fish Hook Deluxe Edition. (45)

Pre-Show: The Miz defeated Lio Rush in 6:11 by pinfall with a Skull Crushing Finale. (66)

Pre-Show: Moustache Mountain defeated Willburger in 6:24 when Trent Seven defeated Will Ferrara by pinfall with a Seven Stars Lariat. (39)

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Cody%20Rhodes_alt2_zpsf725kg0h.jpg

Mauro Ranallo, Freddie Prinze Jr, and Matt Striker finishing putting over the final four matches of the first round of each Inaugural World Championship tournament, and we are treated to the first ever entrance to the FATE arena by "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes. He heads to the ring, and talks himself up, talking the Washington crowd down. He brings up tonight's main event, pitting Cody up against Kenny Omega. He can't believe that someone that Kenny Omega would be in a main event caliber match.

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Kenny%20Omega_alt9_zpsedt3hpok.jpg

Kenny Omega arrives and takes exception to this, explaining that Cody Rhodes didn't deserve a spot in the Bullet Club, but received one anyway. Bullet Club chants start up to support Omega, and he cuts Cody down for being a quitter. There is a big pop when Omega says "I was smart enough not to go to the 'E in the first place." Cody explains that Omega never making it to the big times is the reason Cody will put him in his place later tonight. He will then go on to become the first FATE World Champion. Cody ends things with a mocking Bullet Club salute to Kenny.

64

This angle got the show off to a strong start. This angle got the crowd hotter.

Match 1

Singles

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/TJ%20Perkins_alt3_zpsw8h5ka4l.jpghttp://68.media.tumblr.com/avatar_4069a16c4b3a_128.pnghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Manny%20Andrade_zps2m1yxtgx.jpg

A quick paced match to start the show. Both these men were knocked out of the first round of the Inaugural World Championship Tournament, by Kevin Owens and Cesaro, respectively. As soon as things get started, TJ Perkins whips Andrade Almas to the ropes, only to be whipped to the opposite ropes as well. The result is both competitors locking up in the ropes in a spider-like fashion at the very same time. Neither man give an inch in an intimidation game, but TJ is the first to let go and take action. Andrade moved out of the way, just as TJP would have, and TJ takes a spill to the outside. The back-and-forth contest came to a halt when Andrade missed the knees in the corner, and was hit with a Detonation Kick, followed by submitting to the Figure Four Deathlock.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, TJ Perkins defeated Andrade "Cien" Almas in 12:17 by submission with a Figure Four Deathlock.

55

This match got the crowd buzzing.

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Heath%20Slater_alt_zpsxk0v4uzx.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Luke%20Harper_alt_zpsduwny0zi.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Erick%20Rowan_zps6oicm5xo.jpg

Odyssey make their way to the ring before the next match. Heath Slater announces that he knows who Luke Harper and Erick Rowan will be facing in the next round of the Inaugural World Tag Team Championship Tournament: Primico. He tells Primo & Epico to be cautious, as all three of them are in search of gold, and these big men "are hard to stop when they get rollin', baybay!" Slater says his pursuit of gold was forced to find another path, as Bray Wyatt played the spoiler to him last week. Tonight, Slater plans to steamroll right over "the fella who makes it rain" and start on his new path into the title picture.

57

This angle got the crowd hotter.

Match 2

Singles

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Kazuchika%20Okada_zpsfjybrbgj.jpghttp://68.media.tumblr.com/avatar_4069a16c4b3a_128.pnghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Heath%20Slater_alt_zpsxk0v4uzx.jpg

Kazuchika Okada found exception in being referred to in such an informal manner. He is here, not only to teach Slater a lesson, but also for redemption after a first round loss to Shinsuke Nakamura last week. Okada,

who has confidently headlined in the Tokyo Dome, looked to make quick work of Heath Slater, but Slater is not to be made a fool any longer. He landed the Sweetness, looking for the pin!

WAIT A MINUTE! The lights go out, Bray Wyatt's graphic flashes on the screen, and we see darkness for a few seconds. When light is restored, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are both laid out on the outside, and Bray Wyatt has appeared on the apron, right in the line of sight of Heath Slater. Slater stops a potential pinfall against Okada to have words with Bray Wyatt, and looks for a kick, but Wyatt ducks. Wyatt thinks to have the last laugh, but Luke Harper lands a chop block from behind to knock his former Family member off the apron. Slater laughs now, only to turn back around into a Rainmaker!

In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, Kazuchika Okada defeated Heath Slater in 9:38 by pinfall with a Rainmaker, when we had Bray Wyatt run in and attack Slater.

58

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Kevin%20Owens_alt3_zps8hqyzvod.jpg

We are backstage for a Kevin Owens promo. He knows that his opponent in the next round may have not even qualified yet. In this instance, he runs down everyone who may or may not oppose him. He says that FATE is the best show on television--The Kevin Owens Show. He made quick work of TJ Perkins in the first round, and frankly he didn't feel TJP was a worthy opponent. He thinks that AJ Styles or Cesaro may bode well, or perhaps Shinsuke Nakamura. Definitely not any of the buffoons yet to qualify. Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, Chris Hero, Jay Lethal.. All potential stepping stones for Kevin Owens. Your next FATE World Champion.

FATE Inaugural World Tag Team Championship Tournament

First Round

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Penta%20el%200M_alt_zpsqkkef9la.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Fenix_alt3_zpsw5cwjcif.jpghttp://68.media.tumblr.com/avatar_4069a16c4b3a_128.pnghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Eddie%20Edwards_alt_zps2jodrdxt.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Davey%20Richards_alt2_zpsmenv3qbz.jpg

The penultimate first round match in the tag team tournament, two independent wrestling teams faced off. Pentagon Jr. and Fenix, both of Triple A, Lucha Underground and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla fame, attempted to knock off Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards, who have dominated in Ring of Honor, PWG, and TNA alike. A gamechanger in this match was a missed suicide dive from Eddie Edwards, followed by a Fenix plancha to give the Luchadores momentum. In the end, however, Edwards and Richards gained control with a Die Hard Driver and DR Driver, followed by a Hammer of the Gods in stereo for the win to advance to round 2!

In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, The Wolves defeated Pentagon & Fenix in 8:11 when Davey Richards defeated Pentagon Jr. by pinfall with a Hammer of the Gods.

71

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Penta%20el%200M_alt_zpsqkkef9la.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Fenix_alt3_zpsw5cwjcif.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Eddie%20Edwards_alt_zps2jodrdxt.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Davey%20Richards_alt2_zpsmenv3qbz.jpg

When all is said and done, Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards look for a handshake from their opponents after a truly good contest. The crowd chants "YES!" and Pentagon and Fenix go for it! Only to kick the Wolves in the gut! Penta lands the Fear Factor on Richards, and a Fenix Driver for Edwards! Sore losers get their own version of revenge!

34

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/AJ%20Styles_alt2_zps45hpztde.jpg

We head backstage where AJ Styles is excited. The man who looks to put FATE on the map announces that he has discovered his opponent at WrestleFest in the next round of the tournament. It is a man that AJ faced at Wrestle Kingdom not too long ago. Shinsuke Nakamura. AJ says that while Nakamura may think he is the King of Strong Style, AJ has a hard time finding Shinsuke to be the king of anything. He knows that everything remains on his side this time around, and he will prove why he was the WWE Champion when Nakamura clutched the rookie's belt, the NXT Championship. Might as well back out of WrestleFest, Nak, 'cause you don't want none.

70

The performance of AJ Styles was good.

FATE Inaugural World Championship Tournament

First Round

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Kassius%20Ohno_alt4_zpsioyxtedz.jpghttp://68.media.tumblr.com/avatar_4069a16c4b3a_128.pnghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Jay%20Lethal_zps8wn42tkq.jpg

This match was next up in the singles tournament, and it was crucial for either of these indy wrestling dominators to win here in order to ascend quickly in FATE. Jay Lethal, who found prominence in TNA's X-Division, but rose to great heights in Ring of Honor, as a dual champion, under the guidance of Truth Martini. Chris Hero turned a failed WWE run into a motivator in order to stake his clame as an indy legend, and a true gatekeeper for youngsters breaking into the business. Now, they clash, and it is a sight to behold. In the end, Jay's verbal calling for the Lethal Injection lands him a Cyclone Kill (Discus Big Boot), and we see Hero cover for the victory!

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Chris Hero defeated Jay Lethal in 12:40 by pinfall with a Cyclone Kill.

We head backstage, where Simon Gotch and Aiden English, the Vaudevillains, are set to perform. There time is yet to come, however, but they face fellow former NXT Tag Team Champions a week from Sunday. Dash & Dawson are their second round opponents, and they are elated. The Vaudevillains have always wanted to cement their place as the best team to come out of NXT, and when they beat Dash & Dawson, they will do just that. They see that the Briscoes are not quite happy with Dash & Dawson, which they intend to use to their advantage. "Do what you must, we will excell, I trust" is Aiden English's choice of words. Solid promo.

Match 5

Tag Team

FATE Inaugural World Tag Team Championship Tournament

First Round

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Matt%20Jackson_zpsi7erdsp5.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Nick%20Jackson_zpsie2hdkqy.jpghttp://68.media.tumblr.com/avatar_4069a16c4b3a_128.pnghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Enzo%20Amore_alt2_zpswhwgs9fc.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Colin%20Cassady_alt_zpst667mced.jpg

The very last first round match-up in the tag team tournament. It is the Young Bucks taking on Enzo & Cass. The quick-footed brothers that took indy wrestling by a storm face off against the loudmouth Guido and his large partner in crime. The Bucks miss Superkick after Superkick, and Big Cass' size advantage proves to be their biggest hurdle. They finally land a Double Superkick to Cass, sending him off the apron. The handicap situation did not favor Enzo Amore, who found himself the victim of an Indytaker. Matt covers Enzo! Bucks join American Alpha, Odyssey, Vaudevillains, Dash & Dawson,

Roppongi Vice, Primico, and the Wolves in the quarter finals!

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, The Young Bucks defeated Enzo & Cass in 15:58 when Matt Jackson defeated Enzo Amore by pinfall with an Indytaker.

46

Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson had great chemistry when teaming together. The bout dragged in the middle, with a lack of flow being noticeable.

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Matt%20Jackson_zpsi7erdsp5.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Nick%20Jackson_zpsie2hdkqy.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Enzo%20Amore_alt2_zpswhwgs9fc.jpghttp://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m237/VinceKage/FATE/Colin%20Cassady_alt_zpst667mced.jpg

Mauro Ranallo insists there must be something in the water here in Washington, as the Young Bucks are not satisfied with just a clean victory tonight. They, like Pentagon and Fenix before them, attack their opponents after the match. In this case however, it is simply to add insult to injury. Big Cass tries his best to help Enzo in the beatdown, but ends up victim of the More Bang For Your Buck combination.

After the trading of words we started the show off with, it was nice to finally see Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes step in the ring against one another. Cody lands the Beautiful Disaster right from the get-go, but Omega knows better than to lose less than 10 seconds into the match. He and Cody fight back-and-forth over the process of about fifteen minutes. In the end, Omega puts Cody up in an Electric Chair position. Cody jumps off Omega's shoulders and looks for the Cross Rhodes! Omega spins out of the attempt,

and puts Cody up in the Electric Chair again. This time, he drops him forward and catches him in a waistlock. Cody reaches for the ropes in front of him, but is unable to grasp them, and goes down for Croyt's Wrath!

I just had no preference over TenKoji and RPG, so decided to go with "overness" logic. In "Battle of The Bookers" I had both Nak and Okada, and even there I favoured Kazuchika more cause he is the posterboy for NJPW.

Chris Hero vs. Jay Lethal

I would like a rolling elbow as a reverse to the Lethal Injection, but Jay takes this

TJ Perkins vs. Andrade Almas

They should make that rope spot in stereo to drive some people mad))

I hope Briscoes will do smth about that loss soon and of course that Cesaro will have the title fight sooner than later.

Understood. :)

Credit to you for assistant booking a couple spots in the matches. :p

Expect more from Cesaro at WrestleFest in that regard. :D

Issues or big issues when it comes to Miz and Hardy morale?

Pretty big, but money isn't an issue. :D

Quick Picks:

Kenny Omega vs. Cody Rhodes

WHY YOU GOTTA MAKE ME CHOOSE, MAN?!

The Young Bucks vs. Enzo & Cass

can they BOTH lose? :D

Kazuchika Okada vs. Heath Slater

will Slater be going on a losing streak gimmick? LOL

enjoyed the Wyatt promo, buddy. didn't enjoy seeing Miz lose. Hardys losing was... ehh. also, sorry about that Gargano-Candice divorce, it may or may not have been because of me LOL ;)

Seems a lot of people are either split completely or extremely torn when picking Omega/Cody. I like the Young Bucks haha :) And Enzo & Cass can be fun. :p

I didn't realize two losses is a losing streak.

Thanks. :) Miz and the Hardyz didn't wanna lose either. Gotta keep everybody guessing, this won't be a by-the-book booking kinda game. :) We all know you and Candice are on the outs. :D

As always, there will be a prediction contest alongside the win/loss standings, so anyone is welcome to predict, and please feel free to leave comments or concerns of any variety!

This includes quarrels with the way your character(s) are handled as the dynasty progresses, though I would prefer private message. :D

I shall be adding the jobbers to the list as my own team, though they will not get any wins, so it shall be comical to see how many times I feed them to you guys. :p

Kings of Strong Style Wrestling with a clean victory here. World eating and prize fightin' villains... they don't want none, DEH

Epico vs. Luke Harper

Take him to the swamp, Luke

Matt Jackson vs. Jason Jordan

Classic striker vs grappler match up, lol it's no MMA. Bucks win

Davey Richards vs. Trent Beretta

Trent? Naaaah

Dolph Ziggler & Dalton Castle vs. Cody Rhodes & The Miz

Show Off Peacocks is a great name, but heels win here

Jeff Hardy vs. Jack Evans

Interesting opener, easy tune up for Jeff

KOW reunion is great news! Hope Cesaro gets what he deserves at Wrestlefest, plus Briscoes do smth relevant. And by relevant I mean they get their win back, dammit!

We're back on the Briscoes farm where work never stops. Jay is in the foul mood after being pinned in the tag team match from the second episode of FATE Wrestling. Brothers are trying to get the tree down, with the help of a rattling chainsaw... Mark then tells Jay to step off, and grounds the log with a kung fu kick! Very impressive! "Just fists no flips" they say, clearly they are not aware of how deadly the redneck kung fu is! The older brother gets a smoke and turns his face to the camera while Mark is shadow boxing with mosquitos in the background. "Revival caught us good last time, they were smarter than us. We underestimated them and paid for it, and now we find ourselves on the sidetracks with a loss in a bag. That ain't right, and we want to fix that **it! If you boys think you're top guys in the tag division, how about you step in that damn ring with us one more time? We wanna know if you are not scared, cause judging by the way you flipped Mark off the apron, you're just a bunch of chicken! Time to MAN UP! Don't hesitate with the answer for too long, or else we will get it from you ourselves..."

A huge highlight here was tag team work from Cesaro and Chris Hero, formerly known as Kings of Wrestling, who have not teamed in six years. AJ Styles landing a Fosbury Flop to three of his opponents at one point was a thing of beauty, and an exchange between Omega and Styles, two former Bullet Club leaders, was also a welcome addition to the match.</em></p><p><em> In the end, legal men Bray Wyatt and Shinsuke Nakamura are trading blows,</em></p><p><em> but AJ Styles kicks Nakamura in the back off an Irish Whip from Wyatt. Nakamura knocks Styles off the ropes, causing Marty Scurll to climb into the ring. Out of nowhere, Cesaro comes crashing into Marty with a European Uppercut, followed by sliding right out of the ring. Marty rolls out onto the apron in an attempt to recover. Kevin Owens walks around the ring and drops both Hero and Omega off the apron with respective chop blocks. This leaves just Bray Wyatt and Shinsuke Nakamura. Nakamura tosses Bray away on a Sister Abigail attempt and instantly runs at Bray for a Boma Ye. This is accented perfectly by Mauro Ranallo on commentary. Shinsuke scores the three. Freddie Prinze Jr. closes the show by insisting everyone see more fantastic action from these eight hopefuls and the eight teams set to do battle over the weekend at WrestleFest I!</em></p><p> </p><p> <strong>In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura, Chris Hero and Kenny Omega defeated Bray Wyatt, AJ Styles, Marty Scurll and Kevin Owens in 21:45 when Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Bray Wyatt by pinfall with a Boma Ye.</strong></p><p><strong> 78</strong></p><p><strong> In terms of in-ring work, AJ Styles was head and shoulders above everyone else.</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Show Rating: 72</strong></p><p><strong> This show increased our popularity in 27 regions.</strong></p><p><strong> 11.82 TV Rating</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> ---------------------------------</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43536" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Prediction Contest:</p><p> <strong>smw88: 17 (+3)</strong></p><p> michgcs: 15 (+2)</p><p> Happy0wns: 13 (+4)</p><p> Atticus: 13 (+4)</p><p> Uncrewed: 16 (+5)</p><p> crackerjack: 13 (+3)</p><p> Blodyxe: 13 (+4)</p><p> <strong>K-Nection: 17 (+5)</strong></p><p> Satyr24: 16 (+4)</p><p> Wolfman84: 14 (+3)</p><p> niall2015: 4</p><p> Larrikn: 14 (+4)</p><p> The Lloyd: 3</p><p> 2-Way tie for first as we head into night one of the PPV, but things are still very close with most people behind by just 3 or less!</p></div></blockquote><p> </p></div><p></p>
