Its May 2017 and the third Super Strong Style 16 tournament is just around the corner. The winner will get a opportunity to win the Progress title, currently held by British Strong Style's Pete Dunne. Major names such as Zack Sabre Jr, Jimmy Havoc, as well as Dunne's BSS allies, Tyler Bate and Trent Seven, have been announced for the 3 day tournament. At Chapter 48 we will find out whether Rockstar Spud, James Drake, Flash Morgan Webster or Nathan Cruz will be qualify for the tournament. One thing is for certain....

This is Progress.

Luckily for Gibson, it was close enough to the ropes for him to roll out. After 10 minutes, Gibson managed to lock in the Shankly Gates to get the victory. Seven angered the crowd as he repeatedly rolled out of the ring to keep the match at a slow pace, which also annoyed Spud. Eventually Spud managed to hit a crossbody on Seven to take him out on the floor. Seven as far as we could tell, was not conscious, so Spud picked up the dead weight off of the floor and rolled him into the ring. This is where Seven’s plan came to fruition, as he was playing possum the entire time! Plus our triple threat Natural Progression Series Finale, to crown our first ever Progress Womens Champion!

Of course that’s all 2 days away yet, let’s talk about tomorrow shall we? Why the **** are you holding this SSS16 tournament without me, the King of Kensington? I am fed up of being held back by you. You gave that greased up, priest a chance in the tournament for going on a jog! Where’s my opportunity?

JIM: I tell you what Sebastian, I will give you a chance. If you can defeat an opponent of my choosing tomorrow night, I will give you a chance to compete for a number 1 contenders shot at a later date for the Progress title.

SEB: Finally, Jim, a chance! Maybe, maybe you’re not so bad after all. If you don’t mind me asking, who’s my opponent?

JIM: Dave Mastiff.

Sebastian’s joy turns to fear and anger, he begins moving back and forth across the ring with his hands on the top of his head screaming “That’s not what I asked for!”, repeatedly. Jim waves Sebastian goodbye and wishes him luck.

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/PhillipsJaspe/Jeff%20Cobb.jpgvshttp://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/PhillipsJaspe/Adam%20Cole_zpsaojlo8rf.jpg

Jeff Cobb vs Adam Cole

It was then time for the 4th match of the evening, a match between a Progress debutant and a Progress returnee. Cole previously appeared for Progress at Chapter 40, successfully defeating Will Ospreay. Jeff Cobb started strong, using his power to damage Cole in the match. Cole retorted with some underhanded moves, a thumb to the eye, as well as putting his feet on the ropes to defeat Cobb. Cole ran to the back as fast as he could before Cobb could get to him.

Winner: Adam Cole

Rating:17

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/PhillipsJaspe/Tyler%20Bate_zpslrhcoltb.jpgvshttp://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/PhillipsJaspe/El%20Ligero_zpsalq3xly6.jpg

Tyler Bate vs El Ligero

Bate and Ligero put on a decent match between the two of them. It was an interesting start as El Ligero entered the ring with a pen and paper in his hand! Ligero gestured to Tyler that he wanted his autograph! Ligero's clearly a WWE fan.

Tyler, looked puzzled but obliged regardless. Ligero put up his finger as if to say “One more thing”, than pulled a mobile out of his shorts, and went to take a selfie. Bate pushed Ligero away and gestured to start the match. The fun and games were clearly over.

The match ended with a Tyler Driver 97 after 20 minutes. Post-match, Bate picked up Ligeros phone and took a picture of an unconscious Ligero to remind him of his loss.

Winner: Tyler Bate

Rating:38

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/PhillipsJaspe/David%20Starr.jpgvshttp://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/PhillipsJaspe/William%20Eaver_zpsdbzpcy5z.jpg

David Starr vs William Eaver

The crowd struggled to get into the match between William Eaver, and the relative unknown David Starr, who has just begun working with WCPW. The match was a disappointment compared to the last one, and the Progress crowd had little reaction to William Eaver winning. The match ended with a clothesline from Heaven.

Winner: William Eaver

Rating:34

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/PhillipsJaspe/Jimmy%20Havoc_zpse1rce8ya.jpg

We go backstage again, this time to Jimmy Havoc!

JIMMY: James, I want you to think very carefully about going out there tonight. We both know what I can do when I have a goal in mind. That Progress title belongs to me. I will cut through you, spill your blood, end your streak. Please James, for the good of both of us, step aside.

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/PhillipsJaspe/Jimmy%20Havoc_zpse1rce8ya.jpgvshttp://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/PhillipsJaspe/James%20Drake_zpsegfk5vz5.jpg

Jimmy Havoc vs James Drake

The crowd showed no sign of tiring as Jimmy Havoc ended the winning streak of James Drake in the co-main event of the evening. Havoc’s rainmaker knocked out Drake, advancing him onto the quarter finals.

Winner: Jimmy Havoc

Rating:34

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/PhillipsJaspe/Zack%20Sabre%20Jr_zpsvpueqaqa.jpgvshttp://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h41/PhillipsJaspe/Sha%20Samuels.jpg

Zack Sabre Jr vs Sha Samuels

Finally it was time for the final Round One match of this years tournament.
