Beejus
Oh, so you aren't using the Eaton and Lane MX? I think I noted that it was Condrey in the first show, but I probably haven't done enough to keep that in the forefront of people's consciousness. I have plans for Condrey and Lane going forward...but all things come in time.</p><p> </p><p> RE: Lex beating Garvin, I see your point and did struggle with the decision. In the end, I felt that perpetuating the angle between Flair and Garvin was more important in the storytelling than the outcome of that individual match. Hopefully it didn't shred whatever credibility he has going into the Clash.</p>

Luger gets a win to help keep his momentum going, and Jimmy Jam gets some shine from beating up on Flair and Dillon, resulting in the fans forgetting all about who actually won the match.</p><p> </p><p> I was rather surprised with Dick Murdoch winning the US Title, and that is a good thing! <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

The Russians came out first, allowing the North Carolina faithful to pop for the playing of “Iron Man” and the arrival of the The Road Warriors. Koloff and Petrov wasted little time in “Pearl Harboring” the face-painted duo as they removed their spike pads and from the start, referee Teddy Long couldn’t keep control.</p><p> </p><p> The bout continued that way, with both teams drawing the illegal man into the ring and both teams ignoring Long’s warning and counts as all four men traded clubbing blows. Eventually, Hawk and Animal pulled ahead in the slugfest. As Hawk sent Petrov to the floor , Animal hoisted Ivan on his shoulders setting up the Doomsday Device. Hawk mounted the ropes and nearly decapitated the rugged Russian.</p><p> </p><p> As Animal held the leg and Teddy Long slapped the mat, Petrov broke up the pinfall with his signature chain and the immediate DQ. Animal hardly registered the blow and the two teams went back in melee mode before the Russian retreated.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winners: Road Warriors via DQ.</strong></p><p><strong> Official Time: 10:41</strong></p><p><strong> Grade: (B)</strong></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43677" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Interview</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><a href="http://s288.photobucket.com/user/tew0720/media/NWA%201987/Missy%20Hyatt%2090s_zpsyuaie3ef.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll163/tew0720/NWA%201987/Missy%20Hyatt%2090s_zpsyuaie3ef.jpg</span></a><a href="http://s288.photobucket.com/user/tew0720/media/NWA%201987/Ron%20Simmons%201_zpskomea7cb.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll163/tew0720/NWA%201987/Ron%20Simmons%201_zpskomea7cb.jpg</span></a><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p></div><p></p><p> The announcers tossed the program backstage to new interviewer, Missy Hyatt. Under the direction of Paul Jones ringside, the champs exchanged frequent tags and continued to grind Morton down. Gibson kept the crowd into it however as he routed Ricky on, ready to receive the big tag. Eventually Morton made his comeback when he reversed Rude’s side-headlock with a big back suplex that brought Greensboro to it’s feet! Rude and Morton extended the drama by slowly crawling to the respective waiting partners. </p><p> </p><p> Both men found their corners at the same time and Gibson took the fight to Fernandez. Paul Jones, feeling the tide turning, slid his cane to Rick Rude, instructing him to bash Gibson. Morton, seeing this, knocked Rude down with a dropkick and retrieved the cane himself. </p><p> </p><p> Referee Earl Hebner, having just caught up with the situation, ripped the cane away from Morton as Morton pleaded that he wasn’t using it. As Hebner and Morton exchanged words, Rude and Fernandez sent Gibson into the ropes looking to taking him out with a double-clothesline. Gibson ducked underneath and the duo and Fernandez and Rude collided into Hebner who fell to the floor, seemingly unconscious!</p><p> </p><p> Without the referee, the four men paired off and began trading punches. Jones rolled into the ring and clubbed Morton in the back with cane. Rude grabbed Gibson and held his arms as Jones came in for another cane strike. This time, Gibson ducked and Jones clocked Rude across the head! Morton came to and tossed Jones over the top. Gibson dropkicked Fernandez into the turnbuckle as Morton covered Rude. Dusty and Tully started the action off for their respective teams as Greensboro quickly remembered the long-standing history between the two men. Dusty was fired up, with Blanchard doing a masterful job selling for “the Dream.” Dusty tagged in Ole and again the fans popped to see Ole get a measure of revenge against his former Horsemen teammates. Ole kept on Blanchard, as Tully begged off in dramatic fashion.</p><p> The tide turned when Arn took a cheapshot at Ole, drawing referee Tommy Young’s attention. This allowed Luger to trade out with Tully despite the lack of legal tag. Ole soon found himself on the receiving end of a series of powerful slams and a vertical suplex from the “Total Package.” Luger tagged in Arn who relished the opportunity to take it his older cousin.</p><p> </p><p> Unfortunately, Arn took too long mocking the tough Ole, who showed he still had some life in him as he fired up with a series stiff chops. Ole pummeled Arn into his corner and tagged in the big Nikita Koloff who resumed the punishment. </p><p> </p><p> The match carried on in this fashion, with Dusty’s team holding the advantage for a bit, only for The Horsemen to take the advantage back with some cheap, underhanded tactic. </p><p> </p><p> After twenty minutes of sustained action, tempers were running hot and soon all 6 men were in the ring and brawling. The two hosses, Nikita and Luger, soon found their way to the floor as they exchanged clubbing blows and fought to keep their breath. Over in one corner, Dusty was jukin’ and jivin’ with a jab set on Tully Blanchard as referee Tommy Young tried to break them up.</p><p> </p><p> That left Ole and Arn Anderson, the two legal men, in the center of the ring. The two cousins exchanged a furious barrage of right and left hands that left both men dazed. Ole delivered a swift kick the gut that brought Arn to his knees. JJ Dillon quickly jumped on the apron yelling something to Ole. Ole turned to his former manager with bloodlust in his eyes before grabbing him by the lapel and tossing him into the ring. The Greensboro faithful cheered as Ole was ready to get his just due on the fast-talking Dillon. As Dillon shook his head back and forth, pleading with Ole to leave him be, Arn reached into his trunks and pulled out some kind of foreign object. The unsuspecting Ole turned, hearing the crowd, and caught the loaded right hand, seemingly knocking Ole out cold! Arn jumped on Ole for the cover and the Horsemen stole the victory!</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winners: The Horsemen</strong></p><p><strong> Official Time: 22:03</strong></p><p><strong> Grade: (B)</strong></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43677" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Special Announcement</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><a href="http://s288.photobucket.com/user/tew0720/media/NWA%201987/Missy%20Hyatt%2090s_zpsyuaie3ef.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll163/tew0720/NWA%201987/Missy%20Hyatt%2090s_zpsyuaie3ef.jpg</span></a><a href="http://s288.photobucket.com/user/tew0720/media/NWA%201987/David%20Crockett%201_zpsimw1frv8.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll163/tew0720/NWA%201987/David%20Crockett%201_zpsimw1frv8.jpg</span></a><a href="http://s288.photobucket.com/user/tew0720/media/NWA%201987/Jim%20Crockett%20Jr_zpseczvvgfb.jpg.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll163/tew0720/NWA%201987/Jim%20Crockett%20Jr_zpseczvvgfb.jpg</span></a></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> As Caudle and Schiavone tried to compose themselves following another miscarriage of justice, they once again tossed the broadcast to backstage correspondent, Missy Hyatt. Condrey hooked Garvin’s arms as Big Bubba slipped into the ring. The burly former prison guard came off the ropes to smash Garvin, but Garvin slipped free and Rogers bulldozed Condrey over! That said, Flair is a four-time NWA World Champion, and he knew how to weather the storm. Flair rolled to the floor and even used Precious on the outside to cheap shot Garvin and take control of the bout.</p><p> </p><p> Like clockwork, Flair began to go to work on Garvin’s leg, softening him up for the figure-four. Shortly after Cappetta had announced that 15 minutes had passed, Flair went for his first attempt at his patented hold and Garvin reversed it into a small package for near fall that got a rise out of Greensboro. The spark from Garvin incensed Flair who fell on Garvin once again. </p><p> </p><p> After Flair's latest barrage, and Cappetta remarking that ten minutes remained in the match, Flair began strutting in the ring and cat-calling to Precious on the outside. Flair pointed to the downed form of Garvin and barked over to Precious that “it’s about time you had a real man!” Flair stuck his head out between the ropes and puffed his lips for a kiss but was greeted with a firm slap for his effort! </p><p> </p><p> Garvin was just barely back to his feet as Flair wheeled around and walked right into “Gorgeous” Jimmy who scooped up the champion and dropped him with a devastating brainbuster! Caudle and Schiavone were convinced that we were on the verge of a new world’s champion yet Flair, ever mindful of his ring position, was able to get his foot on the bottom rope on the count of two. </p><p> </p><p> Close but no cigar for Garvin, who was now limping from the damage his knee sustained. Garvin dragged Flair to the middle of ring and looked to hit another brainbuster on the champ, but Flair foiled his efforts by returning to the knee with a chop block. Garvin hit the mat clutching at the knee and with less than five minutes remaining, Flair knew he had his man beat. With nowhere to go, in the dead center of the ring, Flair wrapped up Jimmy in the figure four. Garvin shook his moppy hair for almost a full minute before he had no choice but to surrender.</p><p> </p><p> Precious stormed into the ring as the bell rang, embracing her husband.
