RingRider, Uncrewed and smurphy1014 all tied in that column with 3 correct answers. Congratulations to you 3 on winning this prediction contest. I'll shoot you all separate PMs once I figure out how I can turn my original idea for a prize into 3 separate prizes. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/confused.png.d4a8e6b6eab0c67698b911fb041c0ed1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Couple of Thoughts</strong></p><p> </p><p> -I was shocked that Wahoo and Flair pulled out an A rated match. It's far and away the best rated match in this history of this dynasty and had basically no build or fanfare. Obviously I knew Flair is capable of A rated matches...just didn't expect to get it with Wahoo.</p><p> -I did not expect so many people to tie in the prediction contest and I certainly didn't expect ties with the bonus questions. For future one-off's I'll need to come up another way to handle tiebreakers. Any thoughts?</p><p> -Want to say thank you to some new readers (and old) who seemed to have jumped in recently! Thanks for taking the time to check this little project out. As I mentioned in the DotM thread, I feel like the boards has recently boomed with an explosion of new and exciting diaries by talented writers (to say nothing of the veteran writers like TFC, Uncrewed, Andylion, etc. who have been rocking it for months). Its pretty cool to see anyone reading and replying to this work when there are so many other good ones out there.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>April Week 4 WCW Prediction Card</strong></p><p> </p><p> *This card returns back to the Crockett Cup Prediction Series.</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p> <a href="http://s288.photobucket.com/user/tew0720/media/Predictions/Prediction%20April%201987/CCPSeries003_zps16uctjkh.png.html" rel="external nofollow"><span>http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll163/tew0720/Predictions/Prediction%20April%201987/CCPSeries003_zps16uctjkh.png</span></a></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="43677" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong>World Championship Wrestling</strong><p><strong> April Week 4 1987</strong></p><p><strong> Official Prediction Card</strong></p><p><strong> *Faces always listed first</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Steel Cage Match for the United States Tag Team Championship:</strong> Ron Garvin & Barry Windham © vs. The Midnight Express</p><p> <strong>Block A Crockett Cup Qualifier:</strong> The Soul Patrol vs. Kevin Sullivan & The Barbarian</p><p> <strong>Block B Crockett Cup Qualifier:</strong> Biff Wellington & Buddy Lane vs. Arn Anderson & Lex Luger w/ JJ Dillon</p><p> <strong>Block C Crockett Cup Qualifier:</strong> The Super Powers vs. The Invaders</p><p> <strong>Block D Crockett Cup Qualifier:</strong> The MOD Squad vs. Manny Fernandez & Rick Rude w/ Paul Jones</p><p> Al Snow vs. Ron Simmons</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Bonus:</strong> The Super Powers will be attacked this episode. Midnight Express - <em>Title change time! Ron and Barry are going to split directly, so the MX come up at just the right place at the right time.</em></p><p>

Sullivan and Barbarian - <em>A nice heel team who could possibly do good work as a midcard threat. Though it would be nice to see the Soul Patrol pick up a quick win, it isn't happening.</em></p><p>

Arn and Luger</p><p>

Super Powers</p><p>

Manny and Rude</p><p>

Ron Simmons</p><p> </p><p>

May Week 1 1987

JCP News

-The word is official that the Crockett Cup will be televised on TBS as 3 and half hour special. The Atlanta Braves are off that weekend, clearing a spot in the TBS lineup. While Crockett did consider PPV options, the bigger coverage given by TBS seemed to have the tip the scales in favor making the event a TV special over a PPV event.

-Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson, who have lately revisited their Soul Patrol team with Crockett Promotions, are having a great trouble of difficultly getting on the same page. The team didn't last long in the WWF because the two men had a hard time coexisting, and little seems to have changed with the NWA. Attempts to bring the men together by head booker Dusty Rhodes and Jim Crockett himself have seemed to only increase the friction between the two men.

-A mere few weeks after the passing of 52 year old Johnny Weaver, Korean wrestler Kim Duk (better known as Tiger Chung Lee to WWF fans) has passed away at the young age of 39. Duk was a solid hand and has worked all over the world. He will be missed.

-Rick Rude has had issues coming to work under the influence again lately, the most recent event taking place in Rude and Fernandez' television match with The Mod Squad. While I know that the promotion has tipped Rude for big things, I imagine a greater discipline will need to be enacted for this behavior sooner than later.

-From the world of you can't make this stuff up, Vince McMahon and the WWF have been planting rumors that the JCP organization is actually made up of "devil-worshipers" and pointed at Kevin Sullivan's character as proof. I'm not sure why McMahon, who clearly has the bigger promotion and the upper hand in the rivalry, would even suggest such a laughable idea. The WWF are the group that everyone else is chasing, and when they employ such antics, it legitimizes the competition. Quite honestly, the WWF should be embarrassed for even suggesting something so absurd.

-Following the Crockett Cup, I expect a big roster shakeup and a clearing of some dead weight. I'll be interested to see who gets the pink slip. I have heard that there will be another hiring spree following the housecleaning however in an effort to bring some extra hands on-board for the Great American Bash Tour. I'm not sure why Dusty and Crockett have planned for the tour just yet as everyone involved in the creative process has been very hush hush.

Time to send Rude to rehab after dropping the titles (oooh, you could have that be an added stipulation after Crockett strips them making the Cup winner the world tag champs too). Seriously though, you'll end up sending both of them to rehab so the sooner the better. They're too good to fire (and likely won't get a good reaction to that anyway due to their personalities).

And all hail the best Midnight Express, the US Tag Team Champions!

Oh, and before I forget for the 3rd time, you deleted WCW from the game, but did you go through and remove the Narratives that bankrupt JCP? They have $ in front of them so they show up first. I'd hate to have this fun diary end due to that oversight.

Also, depending on what you set your pop at (you said you upped them from the default), you could and likely should just run your A shows in South East and Mid Atlantic as you likely need all the money you can get. You're not going to burn out the regions running 5 A shows a month.

Thanks for this smartman! Def. some good tips here.

Let me address a few:

-Re: Rude...he actually hasn't been quite as bad as maybe he's coming off in the Observer. He's only had 3 instances where I needed to address it thus far. And Manny Fernandez has been a model citizen. I'm sure things will continue going south, and I'm sure I'll have to put Rude into rehab eventually, but I'm trying to time it right. Fingers crossed.

-Re: The narratives...I thought they only effected the computer, not players. You made me nervous however, I'll def. need to double-check once I am in an AM phase and can look at that in detail.

-Re: running regions, etc. One of the edits I made was putting JCP in Mid Atlantic over South East. I always assumed this map

was the official TEW map, in which case the Carolinas are considered Mid Atlantic, not South East. To your point however, Mid Atlantic and South East are easily still my strongest regions. That said, there's something I enjoy about taking JCP on the road (despite the fact that over-extending itself is one of the things that led JCP to an early demise). You'll probably see that most of my big events will be held in one of those 2 regions.

So far I have successfully stayed in the black in the first 2+ months of gameplay. With the star power mechanic in play, I don't see myself catching WWF anytime soon and, quite honestly, I'm okay with that. My only real concern about growth is making sure I'm always in the black and making sure TBS will keep me around. If I can keep those 2 things going, everything else is gravy.

Thanks again smartman! While I often think that I have this game figured out, I see something on this board or encounter something in game that makes me question everything I know. So please keep the tips coming!

I'm 300 points off after 6 months in my Superfly Effect game, and that's with Hogan out hurt (that's the big thing with this alt 87 mod) and not on the list along with me having epic-level Magnum T.A. and Ted DiBiase. I'm not in a rush to compete with the WWF any time soon. I have a slow burn in my head on this.</p><p> </p><p> As far as the narratives, I double checked and they are all set to effect "AI only." The game text is pretty clear that players won't be effected by the narratives. If memory serves me correctly, this is a new feature to TEW16. In previous iterations of the game, I believe that you're correct and I would've had to delete the narratives.</p><p> </p><p> And as far as the drug use policy, typically I am more strict than I am being on this play-through for a number of reasons: </p><p> 1.) I am trying to stick with my booking plans as much as I can for as long as circumstances will allow.</p><p> 2.) I often feel that the mod is set with higher than intended drug usage. Considering the time period, I think a lot of guys extra-curricular activities didn't impact their in-ring work as much as this mod would make you believe (at least IMO). (This is by no means intended as a slight to the mod, which is one of the best out there). </p><p> </p><p> Literally, as soon as I ran my last show after posting my first response to you, Rude got dinged again. This time he gave me a positive response for a change which was nice...but he's pissing off everyone he works with, so it's getting to be untenable. </p><p> </p><p> Anywho, all of that said, I am cleaning up the latest episode of WCW. If I keep the ball rolling tonight, than it'll be up in a few hours. If not, than maybe sometime tomorrow if anyone else wants to get their predictions in. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
