Tri State Wrestling

The WWF would like to announce that they have made the business decision to invest in a new child company called Tri State Wrestling. The company will act as developmental territory for the WWF and will hopefully help train the future superstars of the WWF.

Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell has been hired as the head booker of TSW and Les Thatcher will oversee the running of the company.

Tri State Wrestling has announced that they will have two titles for competitors to challenge for; the TSW Heavyweight title and the TSW Tag Team title.

Tri State Wrestling will host a big monthly event on the final Sunday of every month, as well as a smaller weekly show titled TSW Fortress.

The match starts and Bret goes straight for the injured ankle of Shawn. He continues to work the ankle over until HBK cannot stand despite his best efforts. Also, anyone have any suggestions for what the winner of the predictaton competition should win? My current plan is to allow the winner to pick a developmental star to debut post WM and help put together a storyline for him

Id keep your signings a secret as its all part of the mystic.

The prize seems a good idea to be fair

Yeah I think it could be really interesting to let the winner completely repackage someone from developmental and set them on a path that's very different from the one they went on in real life.

Good luck, Owen"

I saw this as a great chance to put too people that I have high hopes for in a main event and see how well they handle the pressure. Maybe they will put on a clinic and make me rethink my plans for the not too distant future.

Grade B 78

Lightweight action to start the show as recent title challenger TAKA faces off against rarely seen Scott Taylor. This match was horrible. TAKA gets the win but Scott Taylor gave a really bad account of himself. Maybe he needs to go back to developmental or find a tag partner who can bring the best out of him.

Prior to the start of the match, Sunny joined the guys on commentary and told them that she was there to scout out new clients

Grade F+ 17

Out next is man mountain Faarooq who will have a chance to showcase his menacing skills against local jobber Ace Steel. Of course, Faarooq wins in impressive fashion to build momentum for the inevitable Rock match

Grade D 44

Faarooq uses his five minutes to shine as he tells Rock that he isn't scared of any man, least of all the man who was his understudy in the Nation. Faarooq tells Rock that he will end his career before it has even begun at the Royal Rumble. He also tells everyone in the back that 1998 will be the year of Faarooq and he will start by winning the Rumble.

Grade C+ 67

Action from the European champion Steve Blackman as Bart Gunn tries to earn a title shot by beating him. Gunn will have to wait a while longer as the champion proved too strong for him.

Jim Cornette was on commentary for this match as he took the opportunity to scout out potential clients.

Grade D+ 49

The dominant Ministry are out next to compete against the hard hitting team of Animal, Hawk and Ahmed Johnson. The Ministry proved far too strong as Mankind picks up the pinfall victory over Ahmed Johnson before the three of them lay out their opponents. Undertaker and Mankind really stood out in this match and their in-ring work was fantastic.

Gerald Brisco informed me that The Undertaker debuted a new spot in this match that got great heel heat. This should really help his psychology as he will be able to use it as a go-to spot in the future

Grade B 82

Mankind takes to the mic and tells the team of Vader, Shamrock and Triple H that they accept their challenge and will see them at the Rumble. He tells them that this will be the last time the WWF crowd sees them in the ring as the Ministry is too strong to be stopped by them.

Grade A* 95

We cut to my office as Bret storms in demanding a match with Sid Vicious tonight. Unfortunately, for Bret, Sid isn't officially signed and is only here as Shawns mercenary, so I cannot sanction that match. Bret tells me that he will find Sid himself and take matters into his own hands as he storms out

Grade A* 95

Back to the ring we see Tag Team champion Billy Gunn joined by his partner Road Dogg as he prepares to face the British Bulldog. The youth of in-form Gunn proves too much for Bulldog as he defeats him via Gunn Slinger.

Grade B- 73

Once again the New Age Outlaws cut a promo to inform the world that they are the best tag team ever and that at the Rumble, they will not only leave as Tag champions, but they will also leave as joint Rumble winners

Grade B+ 88

Next we see Bret Hart on a mission in the backstage area as he hunts for Sid Vicious. He stumbles upon a door with HBKs name on it and barges in, finding an empty room. As he turns to leave, he is jumped and beaten down by Sid

Grade A* 97

Our main event tonight sees Intercontinental champion Owen Hart face off against the future of the WWF in The Rock. The pair proved fairly even for the first 12 minutes before Owens experience started to stand out, giving him the edge. Just when it looks like Owen has the victory in the bag, a video of Austin sat in his monster truck appears on the big screen. Owen focuses on the screen only to see Austin destroy Owens prized vehicle- giving Rock the chance to hit his finisher and get the win

Grade B- 75

Overall Grade B 77

---

Another solid show.
