This is to ensure a fair fight and hopefully give us a concrete answer as to who is better between Owen Hart and Steve Austin</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B+ 85</strong></p><p> </p><p> Light Heavyweight title match opens the show as champion Jushin Liger enters the ring and awaits his opponent. After seconds of anticipation, out steps Japanese superstar Great Sasuke!</p><p> </p><p> In a tough back and forth action, Liger eventually managed to use his WWF experience to pick up the win with the Liger Bomb. This marked his second defence of the WWF Light Heavyweight title.</p><p> </p><p> The two guys had fantastic chemistry and if given the chance, could probably put on an even better showing</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade D+ 51</strong></p><p> </p><p> Tag Team action next as the unstoppable New Age Outlaws enter the ring. They challenged anyone brave enough to face them and their challenge was answered by the team of Steve Williams and Johnny Ace from AJPW!</p><p> </p><p> Williams and Ace put up a great challenge, nearly winning the title several times, before Billy Gunn hit the Gunn Slinger to mark the New Age Outlaws third successful defence.</p><p> </p><p> As per usual, both members of New Age Outlaws put on a great show and in some ways carried the match. Unfortunately, Johnny Ace really proved to be the weak link and struggled to keep up with everyone else</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade C 64</strong></p><p> </p><p> Next we air a video package that sums up the Ministry feud with Vader, Shamrock and Triple H. </p><p> This was meant to break up the in ring action, but it also got the crowd hotter made all three Ministry members look like superstars</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B+ 88</strong></p><p> </p><p> In the first of the Ministry matches of the night and a superb contest, Kane defeats the monster Vader via pinfall after a Choke Slam at the 10:27 mark.</p><p> </p><p> I instructed these guys to go out and have a wild brawl and it paid off, with both wrestlers putting in top notch performances</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B+ 83</strong></p><p> </p><p> In a battle of the ex-Nation members, The Rock faces off against Faarooq. The youthfulness of the Rock proves too much for Faarooq who succumbs to the pinfall in a hard hitting back and forth match.</p><p> </p><p> Whilst the match didn’t set the world on fire, it did what I expected it to do. I think it’s now time that The Rock moves on and starts to really show the world what he is made of</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B- 73</strong></p><p> </p><p> We cut to a short interlude featuring ‘managers without a client’ Sunny and Jim Cornette. Cornette tells Sunny that he has narrowed his potential client shortlist down to a handful of guys and he knows that whoever he picks will go on to be WWF champion in record time</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B- 71</strong></p><p> </p><p> The second Ministry match of the night sees Triple H square off against Mankind. In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, Mankind beats Triple H by stoppage after Triple H passes out to the Manible Claw</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B 77</strong></p><p> </p><p> Intercontinental title match next and as announced on the pre-show, it will now take place in a cage! The match was exceptional and the crowd loved what they were seeing as Steve Austin secured the pinfall after a Stunner to win the Intercontinental title!</p><p> </p><p> The in-ring performance of Steve Austin was brilliant and he is without a doubt the future</p><p> </p><p><strong> Grade B 80</strong></p><p> </p><p> Following his title victory, Steve Austin climbs to the top of the cage and toasts the belt with several beers</p><p> </p><p><strong> Grade B+ 83</strong></p><p> </p><p> Next we see the last Ministry match up of the night as The Undertaker makes it a clean sweep for the Heels by defeating Ken Shamrock with a Tombstone.</p><p> </p><p> Although Undertaker put on a fantastic performance, I was really impressed by what Shamrock bought to the match.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B 77</strong></p><p> </p><p> As Undertaker celebrates his victory alongside stable mates Kane and Mankind, Vader and Triple H storm the ring leading to an all out brawl</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B+ 86</strong></p><p> </p><p> Next is the Royal Rumble match, where 30 men compete for the chance at a Wrestlemania main event.</p><p> </p><p> In a decent match, Owen Hart, fresh off a lose to Steve Austin earlier in the night, manages to secure the victory by eliminating The Rock. Alongside The Rock and Owen Hart in the final four was Mankind and Steve Austin, who just didn’t have enough to push through to the end. Ministry member Kane managed the most eliminations whilst Triple H set the record for surviving the longest.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B 79</strong></p><p> </p><p> The main event and WWF title match of the night saw Bret Hart defend against long term rival Shawn Michaels. The match that many picked to be the match of the night didn’t disappoint as both Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels really brought their A game. The wrestling was sensational and the heat was fantastic as HBK secured the pinfall following a Sweet Chin Music at the 34 minute mark. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B+ 83</strong></p><p> </p><p> Royal Rumble winner Owen Hart comes out and stares down Bret Hart and new champion Shawn Michaels as the PPV goes off the air</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade A* 100</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Overall Grade B 79</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Buy Rate 0.39 (158,172)</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>---</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em>All in all, another decent showing although not as strong as In Your House.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> Owen Hart picking up the win in the Royal Rumble was something I debated over for a long time as I wasn't sure which direction I wanted to go. However, I am a big Hart fan so I am hoping this pays off.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> The match of the night was a tie between the obvious HBK v Hart title match and surprisingly, Kane v Vader. I was really happy with the performance of Kane and Vader and I told them so afterwards.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> Some bad news coming out of the Rumble as 8 Ball has tore his ACL and will be out for 6 months. And if it wasn’t for Steve Austin’s whining and cheating I would have also retained my Intercontinental title. Austin can have his five minutes of fame because at Wrestlemania I am going to walk out of there with the WWF title around my waist. I had been hoping that my brother Bret would retain his title last night, too, so that the most dominant family to ever wrestle could headline the biggest Wrestlemania ever, but it wasn’t meant to be. Instead I will have to take the title off of Shawn Michaels and bring it home to the Harts where it belongs!”</em></p><p> </p><p> Just as Owen turns to leave the ring, Bret’s music plays and his brother heads towards the ring. He hugs his brother before grabbing a microphone.</p><p> </p><p> <em>“Owen, last night you did the Harts proud. You won the Royal Rumble and proved once again that the Harts are the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be.”</em></p><p> </p><p> The crowd cheers</p><p> </p><p> <em>“But Owen, last night I let myself down and took my eyes off the prize for a moment and Shawn took advantage of my mistake. He might have my WWF title around his waist but he knows that I am still the better man and at No Way Out I want my rematch to take back what’s mine. Then you and I can face one on one on the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania!”</em></p><p> </p><p> The crowd roars as Shawn Michaels music hits</p><p> </p><p> <em>“Bret, last night I pinned you in the middle of the ring fair and square. You claim that you let your guard down for a moment and that’s why I won, but maybe you just don’t have enough in the tank anymore to keep up with the top dogs. This is my yard now, Bret, and neither you nor your brother Owen will be able to step in my ring and take my title. At No Way Out, you can have you rematch but it will be your last chance to take my title because when I beat you again, I am setting my sights to Wrestlemania and to ending the Hart family once and for all.”</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p> I decided that this would be a good time for me to step out and confirm that Bret Hart will have his rematch at No Way Out, but that tonight the three of them will have to work on the same team as they take on the Ministry in the main event.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade A* 100</strong></p><p> </p><p> Tonight’s in ring action begins with the European champion Steve Blackman defending his title against Marc Mero. Before the action begins, Jim Cornette joins Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler in the commentary booth. The bout had decent wrestling but the lack of heat really let the match down. However, Steve Blackman successfully defends his title for the second time after getting the pinfall against Marc Mero.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade C 62</strong></p><p> </p><p> As Blackman picks up the win, Jim Cornette joins him in the ring to congratulate him on an impressive win</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade C 60</strong></p><p> </p><p> In an effort to show off the future stars of the WWF, the team of the Hardy Boyz take on Adam Copeland and Christian Cage of TSW. This proved to be a terrible decision as the two teams put on a horrendous match, which was won by the Hardy Boyz after Jeff Hardy got the pinfall against Cage with an Omega Event.</p><p> </p><p> Although the match was shocking, Jeff Hardy did stand out as the best performer in the ring. However, it is safe to say that we won’t be giving these guys much ring time until they’ve had time to grow and develop.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade F+ 16</strong></p><p> </p><p> Following on from another impressive performance last night against the team of Steve Williams and Johnny Ace, the New Age Outlaws enter the ring to a riotous applause. These guys are really over right now. They once again cut a promo stating that they are without a doubt the best tag team ever and will continue accepting challenges from anyone until the decide to hang up their boots.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B+ 84</strong></p><p> </p><p> Billy Gunn leaves the ring and takes a seat at the commentary table as his partner Road Dogg squares off against fellow tag team specialist Blackjack Bradshaw. Road Dogg once again comes out the match the victor after pinning Bradshaw following a Piledriver</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade C+ 67</strong></p><p> </p><p> Fresh from his decisive victory over Faarooq at the Royal Rumble, The Rock takes on Bob Holly. The match faired surprisingly well, with The Rock really putting on a show. He beatdown Bob Holly before securing the win at the 9 minute mark</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B- 71</strong></p><p> </p><p> The Rock celebrates in the ring before attacking the downed Bob Holly, hinting at a new aggressive nature. The Rock really came off strong during his match and post match beatdown and he has a strong future ahead of him.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade A 91</strong></p><p> </p><p> A hard hitting affair next as the fighting Irishman Finley faces off with Blackjack Windham. In a bad night for the Blackjacks, Windham goes the same way as his partner Bradshaw after surcombing to the strength of Finlay </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade C 60</strong></p><p> </p><p> We show a short video package of Steve Austin successfully winning the Intercontinental title from Owen Hart at the Royal Rumble</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B+ 88</strong></p><p> </p><p> We cut back to the ring as Steve Austin makes his entrance to face off against his opponent Bart Gunn who is already waiting in the ring. Intercontinental champion Austin makes short work of Gunn, beating him by pinfall following a Stunner. Austin really stood out and put on a fantastic in ring performance. This man is good.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade C+ 68</strong></p><p> </p><p> Austin takes to the microphone to declare to the world that he in the without a doubt the best wrestler alive today. He warns everyone in the back that he is here to dominate the roster and take his place at the top of the WWF. As the crowd starts to chant his name, Jeff Jarrett’s music starts to play. Jarrett tells Austin that if he wants to prove he is the best in the world then he better start by trying to get past him first. Jarrett tells Austin that he made the Intercontinental what it is today and that at No Way Out, he will walk out of their a three time champion. Austin smiles at the threat before exiting the ring and chasing Jarrett towards the back.</p><p> This post match confrontation proved better than I thought it would, but I think that was solely down to Austin as Jarrett really didn’t look good at all.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade A* 98</strong></p><p> </p><p> Next we have our main event of the evening as the team of WWF champion Shawn Michaels and brothers Bret and Owen Hart take on the dominant Ministry team of Undertaker, Kane and Mankind. After 15 minutes of solid back and forth action, Bret Hart refuses to accept the tag from Shawn Michaels who had been continually beaten down by the members of the Ministry. As Shawn looks on in astonishment, Bret Hart screams at Owen to follow him to the back and leave Shawn Michaels to end the match alone. Torn between wanting to win the match and listening to his brother, Owen Hart watches on as Kane hits the Chokeslam on Michaels and gets the pinfall for his team.</p><p> </p><p> The match was exceptional and all six of these guys truly are on top of their game. Unsurprisingly, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels stood out as the best in ring performers.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade B+ 83</strong></p><p> </p><p> As Shawn Michaels lay in the middle of the ring, Undertaker and Mankind join Kane in attacking him. As Undertaker picks him up to get ready to hit him with the Tombstone, Triple H, Vader and Shamrock storm the ring and beat down the Ministry and save the WWF champion from anymore damage.</p><p> Mankind really came out of this segment looking excellent, but unfortunately Vader looked pretty lost out there.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grade A* 96</strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Overall Grade B 81</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">TV Rating 19.41</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>---</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em>Following the show, Vader approached me to say that he thinks Jeff Hardy will be a star and we should push him to the moon. Jeff was definitely the best of a bad bunch today, but he is still a long way from being a complete package.</em></p></div><p></p>

Wrestling is in our blood and at No Way Out, I will be taking back my title and then you will fade into obscurity. As for last week, we didn’t help you because we just don’t care what happens to you. First off, sorry for my long absence, I spent nearly a month on various holidays and obviously was without computer access. I have posted a couple weeks of shows recently and plan to really push on and start writing more soon, so hopefully there's still a demand and people want me to continue. I'm still getting to grips with the game and with the writing part so I apologise if it's disappointing. As of right now I have my main storylines planned up until Wrestlemania and a few longer term plans which hopefully I can make reality.

I do have a couple points that I am looking for guidance on, so hopefully someone can help:

  • How is my writing style and overall presentation? I feel like sometimes it can be quite poor, but I don't know if that's just me being harsh on myself
  • I am having no issues with getting top grades on promos/angles but some of the wrestling lets us down. Is it my poor booking, lack of depth in the roster or something else? I don't play around with the aims too much because I'm not sure when to use what to get the best result. I also struggle with match order
  • How do I make the most out of my developmental? They have a pretty strong roster and put on weekly shows, but they are obviously small. How can I grow them and get them a TV deal?

We open RAW with Bret Hart begging his brother to join him in the ring so that they can clear the air and move forward. Owen accepts his brother’s request and heads towards the ring. After a brief moment of hesitation, the brothers embrace and Owen grabs a microphone

“Bret, I’ll be honest, what happened last week irritated me. I felt like we had the upper hand in our match and we were well on our way to winning. All you had to do was tag in and finish the job, but you were too concerned with protecting yourself and making sure you were fit enough for your title match at No Way Out. Would I have done the same in that situation? Tough to say, but I like to think that I would have had my brothers back.”

“You’re right, I’m sorry, Owen, and I promise that it was a mistake on my part and it won’t happen again”

As the brother embrace once again, a familiar theme song begins to play

“Well, well, well, isn’t this nice. A real family affair. Mind if I join?”

Shawn Michaels heads to the ring

“How are you going to forgive your brother so quickly after he let you take the fall in your match last week, don’t you have the balls to stand up for yourself?”

The Canadian crowd reigns down a chorus of boos on Michaels as he plays up being the bad guy opposite the heroes Hart.

“I suggest you watch what you’re saying, Michaels! Owen, don’t listen to him. What happened last week was a lapse of judgement and we are stronger as a unit. Ignore this idiot and let’s leave”

Bret and Owen head towards the ropes to leave, giving HBK the perfect opportunity to get one over his rivals. As Bret leaves the ring, Michaels grabs Owen by the arm and turns him around and right into a Sweet Chin Music! With Owen grounded, Michaels turns his attention to Bret who toys with the idea of re-entering the ring and helping his downed brother, but in the end he decides to once again protect himself and leave his brothers side.

As we assumed when booking this segment, the crowd pop was insane for Canadians Bret and Owen Hart. This was the perfect was to start the show and gained heat for the feud.

Grade A* 100

Our opening contest saw European champion Steve Blackman make his way to the ring alongside new manager Sunny who would join Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler on commentary.

His opponent for the night, Jim Neidhart, put on a decent wrestling performance before succumbing to Blackmans tough arsenal and losing by pinfall at 9:48.

Interestingly, Neidhart performed better than Blackman in the ring and can still somewhat go in the ring.

Grade C+ 66

As Sunny and Blackman celebrate in the ring, the familiar voice of Jim Cornette rings out from the top of the ramp. Cornette reminds Blackman that he will live to regret turning down his offer of management before introducing his new client in the form of recent acquisition William Regal who appeared through the crowd and jumped Blackman whilst his back was turned.

Regal signed with us a while back but this was the first show in which we could use him. I didn’t want to waste time in debuting him and I hope he can go far. I am not sure he needs Cornette as a mouthpiece, but I guess it can’t hurt him in the short term.

Grade C- 54

Tag team champion Billy Gunn squares off against Ahmed Johnson next, as his partner Road Dogg joins the guys at the commentary table. With momentum behind him, Billy Gunn managed to hit Johnson with a Gunn Slinger at 8:24 for the win

Grade C+ 70

Road Dogg joins his team mate in the ring and they once again announce to the world that they are willing to take on all comers at No Way Out

Grade B 78

Next up, The Godwinns await their opponents in the ring as a two familiar faces appear. It was a returning D’Lo Brown and The Godfather, formerly of the Nation of Domination, who have returned with new gimmicks and a face turn.

Unfortunately, the match wasn’t great and the fans were jaded with the amount of recent turns. Despite this, D’Lo managed to hit the Low Down on Henry O. Godwinn for the win on their return.

This segment obviously didn’t go as planned and I hope D’Lo and Godfather can recover and make it work.

Grade D+ 50

Fresh off his assault of Steve Austin last week, Jeff Jarrett faces off against fellow former Intercontinental champion Marty Jannetty. They managed to put on a decent match which saw Jarrett get the submission win with a Figure-Four Leglock.

Grade C 65

Following the match, Austin took his opportunity to take his revenge for the aforementioned attack by storming the ring and dishing out an extended beatdown to Jarrett

Grade A 94

Light heavyweight triple threat match next, with the winner going on to face champion Jushin Liger at No Way Out.

In form 2 Cold Scorpio proved too much for opponents Brian Christopher and TAKA Michinoku after hitting Christopher with a Tumbleweed for the pin.

The guys were off their game and it really reflected in the match rating

Grade D+ 52

The Rock up against local legend Jacques Rougeau next in a tough fought victory. Rougeau really made Rock work hard for the win, which came at the 10:02 point.

Although The Rock was the better of the two performers, Rougeau carried himself well. He was only on a one night contract, but there might be enough reason to bring him in longer term to fill out our thin midcard.

Grade C+ 69

Following on from his win, The Rock takes the mic and declares himself 9 matches unbeaten

Grade A 94

Another opportunity for me to impress next as we cut to a segment in my office. The segment sees an angry Owen Hart storm in and demand that I make the title match at No Way Out a triple threat so he can take his revenge on “that bastard Shawn Michaels and my cowardly brother.”

In an effort to calm Owen down, I tell him that his time will come at Wrestlemania, but that he will feature in the main event at No Way Out. However, he won’t be competing, he will be officiating, as the special guest referee!

Grade B+ 88

The main event was a real barnburner as Ministry leader The Undertaker goes one on one with Faarooq. Whilst The Undertaker ultimately proved too much for Faarooq, the former Nation leader didn’t go down without a fight and put Taker in some very difficult situations. The finish came at the 11:37 mark when Undertaker managed to hit Faarooq with a Choke Slam for the pin.

Grade B+ 83

Following on from his win, Taker took to the mic and warned Triple H, Vader and Shamrock that No Way Out will be their curtain call as they face off in the ring once again. Taker summons Kane and Mankind who arrive with a downed Triple H dragging alongside. As Undertaker continues the threats towards Triple H’s allies, Vader and Shamrock come to his rescue and an all out brawl ensues. The distraction gave Triple H just enough time to gather his senses and he hits Kane with a Pedigree to gain the upper hand for his team.

Grade A* 99

Overall Grade B 82

TV Rating 19.21

---

Over at WCW. Nitro managed a slightly worse rating of B 81, with a TV rating of 20.73. The main event saw Scott Hall beating Rick Steiner by count out.

Interestingly, Hulk Hogan has claimed that he is carrying the entire WCW by himself and without him, there would be no promotion. Hmm.

In a recent internet poll, Paul Bearer was declared the “Best Manager in the World”.

Steve Austin approached me after RAW and asked for a pay rise. He has been a star recently so I was happy to reward him.

Attendance: 10,139

Announcers: Michael Cole and Kevin Kelly

The opener sees The Sultan return to the ring after a few weeks away with a winning effort against Bart Gunn. The victory came via a Big Splash at 9:09 and sees The Sultan extend his winning run.

The Sultan has a star quality about him and I feel like we should start to utilise him better. Maybe it is time to give him a run in the big leagues.

Grade D+ 49

Following on from his victory, The Sultan’s manager, The Jackal, took to the mic to brag that he has the best client in the WWF and nobody can stand in

the way of them.

The Jackal underperformed in this segment, which has been a running theme whenever he has been used. For someone who can apparently talk so well,

he sure lets us down quite frequently.

Grade C 62

Light heavyweight action next as Jerry Lynn faces off against Brian Christopher. In what proved to be a fast paced, if not short, match with several high spots, Lynn secured the pin at the 6:31 mark

Grade D+ 52

We show an interview with The Undertaker filmed on RAW immediately after the attack by Vader, Shamrock and Triple H. Undertaker promises that this feud has gone on long enough and at No Way Out, The Ministry will lay rest to them once and for all.

Grade A*100

Tag team action sees The Headbangers face off against local heroes The Beverly Brothers. The wrestling was terrible and only one team could be blamed for that. The Beverly Brothers really stood out as poor performers here, with the hot crowd even going as far as to chant for Wayne Bloom to not return to the WWF.

The Headbangers, who were as reliable as ever, secured the win when Mosh hit Bloom with the Mosh Pit.

Grade D+ 48

A promo video for the upcoming No Way Out PPV aired next and received very positive reactions

Grade A* 100

The main event of the evening saw the recently returned D’Lo Brown face off against recently hired Jacques Rougeau. The lay off for Brown must have done wonders for his health as he looks revitalised on his way to an impressive victory with the Low Down.

Both guys received similar grades and having them around will definitely help bulk out our midcard.

The show opens with me, Vince McMahon, in the ring

“Last week, the animosity between the Hart brothers and Shawn Michaels spilled over and I had to take action into my own hands. As announced last week, Owen Hart will be the special guest referee for the WWF Heavyweight title match between his brother and Shawn Michaels. However, tonight, all three of them will be in singles competition. I am warning them right now, if any of them interfere in each other matches tonight, then they will be suspended until after Wrestlemania and removed from any pending title matches.”

As I hand back the mic and make my way out of the ring, I am interrupted by a similar ominous theme song of The Undertaker

“Vince, last week my brother Kane, Mankind and I were attacked by Vader, Shamrock and Triple H. This was a mistake on their part. No Way Out is a week away and we will not wait that long. So tonight, we demand they face us in this ring. And then if we allow them to live long enough to make it to No Way Out, we will finish them once and for all there.”

Feeling slightly intimidated, I carefully pick my words as I respond to the threats of The Ministry

“Taker, what happened last week wasn’t acceptable, but you have been known to take advantage of an opponent when they are not expecting it and you should know better than anyone that you need to have eyes in the back of your head. At No Way Out, you three will get your chance at redemption. Kane, you will meet Shamrock in what will surely be an all out war. Mankind, you will face off against a familiar foe in Vader. And Taker… you are going one on one with Triple H in what will go down as one of the greatest matches of all time. As for tonight, you will all get the chance to gather some momentum as you face off in singles competition against the three men who will main event No Way Out!”

I turn to leave, itching to get away from the always dangerous Ministry.

Grade A* 100

We return from commercial just in time for the opening match of the night. One half of the tag team champions, Road Dogg, goes one on one with Savio Vega, as Billy Gunn joined the guys on commentary. Momentum was really behind Road Dogg and it showed as he picked up the quick victory by way of Piledriver at 5:33.

Grade C 60

Bill Gunn and Road Dogg paraded their tag belts in the ring after Road Doggs win and said they are looking forward to another successful defence at No Way Out.

Grade B- 75

The first of our featured matches tonight sees Owen Hart and Mankind lock up. The match was exceptional and these two worked really well together. After 10 minutes of hard hitting action, Owen Hart managed to catch Mankind with a Piledriver to pick up the win.

These guys are good and the crowd loved it. Interestingly, Owen Hart used this match to debut a new spot that showcased his athletic ability. His psychology will surely be helped by being able to use it as a go-to spot in the future.

Grade B 82

Next we show a backstage interview with Jim Cornette and recent acquisition William Regal. Cornette cut a promo about how Sunny is ruining the prestige of the WWF and should do everyone a favour and just leave. He challenges Steve Blackman to a European title match at No Way Out, on behalf of his client Regal. Regal took his opportunity to warn Blackman that the title is coming home to England with him, where it belongs.

I picked Michael Cole to conduct the interview and that proved silly on my part as he was very underwhelming.

Grade D+ 49

Light heavyweight number one contender 2 Cold Scorpio faced off against Scott Taylor next. Taylor was recently moved down to TSW due to a spat of poor performances and that continued here as he put on an embarrassing display. The guys had terrible chemistry and the fans didn’t care what was happening. The only saving grace was that the match didn’t last long as 2 Cold proved too good and won by pinfall.

Grade D- 38

Following his win, Light Heavyweight champion Jushin Liger entered the ring to congratulate 2 Cold Scorpio. The guys shake hands as we go to commercial

Grade D 44

European champion Steve Blackman against Phil Le Fon next, as Blackman looks to put on an impressive display for his new manager Sunny.

Blackman managed a strong showing and although the match wasn’t great, Blackman came out of it looking strong and picked up the win at 5:30 by pinfall.

Grade C- 55

Sunny took this opportunity to take the mic and accept Cornette and Regals challenge for No Way Out. We have a European title match!

Grade C+ 66

In form The Rock took on the monster Kurrgan next. The match was short, but The Rock really stood out, putting on a really impressive in ring performance in beating Kurrgan.

Despite the match being short at 6:53, Kurrgan was visibly tiring towards the end. He doesn’t really have much of a future with us.

Grade C 59

The Rock reminds the crowd that he is now 10 and 0 and says that at No Way Out he will be there to make it 11 and 0 if anyone is stupid enough to step up and face him

Grade A 92

The Intercontinental champion, Steve Austin, took on tag team expert Animal next. The match was an all out brawl, with both guys putting on solid performances – although Steve Austin obviously more so.

The match was a hard hitting affair and Animal tried his best to make it difficult for Austin, but ultimately he fell short as Austin picked up the pinfall.

This was a really good match of Austin and Animal did better than I expected.

Grade B 78

Following an impressive display by Austin, he grabbed a mic and told Jarrett to meet him at No Way Out so he can kick his ass and prove that there’s only one greatest Intercontinental champion

Grade A* 100

Co-main event of the night saw WWF title contender Bret Hart take on the rampaging Kane. Kane spent a long period in control and looked to have the match in the bag when he became distracted by Ken Shamrock who appeared at the top of the ramp. This gave Bret Hart just enough opportunity to get the pinfall and claim victory going into No Way Out.

Both guys looked exceptional tonight and I will be interested in seeing what else they could do if given the chance to face off again.

Grade B- 76

Main event next as WWF champion Shawn Michaels and Ministry leader The Undertaker face off in a non-title affair, with Bret Hart deciding to hang around after his win over Kane to join Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler at commentary.

The guys have a storied history and it really shone though in this match as both guys worked exceptionally well together. Both of them scored very highly and really brought their A game.

The ending came after a referee bump forced Owen Hart, dressed in his No Way Out referee shirt, to storm the ring and count the fast count after Undertaker rolled Michaels up.

Grade B+ 83

We go off air as Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart and Owen Hart stand in the centre of the ring and stare down one another

A pretty good go home show, although maybe a few too many segments for my likely. Over at WCW they once again fell short of our performance, managing a Grade B 82. Their main event saw Lex Luger and Randy Savage battle to a no contest. Interestingly, Hogan decided to open the show in a winning effort against Evan Karagias. I wonder what they are planning…

It was brought to my attention before RAW that Vince Russo has a lot of heat within the locker room due to his recent attitude. I took the decision to assert my authority and fire him on the spot. Although I have heard that Russo has seen the light and will try to improve his attitude in the future, he has launched a wrongful termination lawsuit against us. At least Jim Cornette was pleased with my decision.

In other events, Miguel Perez Jr. was brought before the Wrestler’s Court, accused of not joining the rest of the locker room for a night out. The judge, Dory Funk Jr. found him guilty and sentenced him to buy drinks for everyone after the show.

Jushin Liger has informed us that he has decided to relocate to the US. Weird decision when he has so many commitments in Japan. He also just won “Best Overall Worker in Wrestling Today” according to a recent web poll.

Kane and Shawn Michaels have both approached me about a pay rise. Both have been excellent recently so I was happy to offer them something. Kane wasn’t on much so I offered him the whole amount he asked for, which still puts him below others at his level. Michaels, however, asked for much more so I offered him 50% of what he wanted. This angered the volatile champion. I’m sure he will get over it soon.

This week’s TSW Fortress saw Sabu finally lose his Heavyweight title to the up and coming Aguila. The match was pretty good, managing a 65.

The finish came at the 14:51 mark when Billy Gunn hit Misawa with the Gunn Slinger for the pin, making their fourth successful title defence.</p><p> </p><p> Billy Gunn and Road Dogg were as reliable as ever, but Misawa and Kobashi really failed to impress. Maybe it was the lack of experience in America or maybe I didn’t do enough to accommodate their style. Ultimately, a decent start to the night and the crowd seemed to enjoy what they saw.</p><p> <strong>Grade B- 73</strong></p><p> </p><p> European title action up next as Steve Blackman, alongside Sunny, defends his title against proud English man William Regal, who is looking to take the title back home to Europe with him.</p><p> The wrestling in this match was pretty decent, even if the match did lack some heat. Both guys came in ready for a war and really took it to one enough. The finish came when Regal knocked Blackman over the top rope and followed him to the outside in order to work him over. This resulted in both guys heading into the crowd and the referee counting them out for a draw. </p><p> </p><p> Both guys put on a good performance, with Regal standing out slightly more so. The pairing of Regal and Cornette came off really well and they seem to click with one another. Sunny also did some good work at ringside.</p><p> <strong>Grade C 60</strong></p><p> </p><p> The brawl continued between the two as they beat each other black and blue throughout the crowd and eventually towards the back</p><p> <strong>Grade C- 58</strong></p><p> </p><p> The Rock enters the ring and takes the microphone. He calls out anyone in the back who is brave enough to lace their boots and meet him in the ring. After an anxious wait where it looked like nobody would answer The Rocks challenge, the British Bulldog stepped out to a strong crowd reaction.</p><p> </p><p> The two guys put on a really good match and The Rock and Davey Boy had some good chemistry. Unlike in previous weeks, The Rock didn’t have it all his own way, with Bulldog putting him in some nasty positions and nearly picking up the victory on several occasions. In the end, the youth of The Rock was too much for British Bulldog, who was starting to tire, and he hit him with the DDT for the pinfall victory. This marked The Rocks 11th win in a row and by far his best and most challenging. This will no doubt prove to be a pinnacle win in The Rocks career and help him develop his in-ring talents.</p><p> <strong>Grade B- 73</strong></p><p> </p><p> Following on from his win, The Rock takes to the mic to remind everyone that this is his 11th win in a row and before long, he will be considered the best WWF superstar of all time.</p><p> </p><p> I let Rock freestyle this and the crowd ate it up! </p><p> <strong>Grade A* 100</strong></p><p> </p><p> Intercontinental champion Steve Austin enters the ring first as he prepares to finally get his hands on Jeff Jarrett, who has proven to be a thorn in his side the past few weeks. As Jarrett hesitantly approaches the ring, Austin decides he isn’t interested in waiting for him and leaves the ring to meet him face to face on the ramp. Austin takes his chance to beat up Jarrett prior to entering the ring, knowing that the match hasn’t officially started yet. After a couple minutes of Austin dominance outside the ring, Jarrett gets a lucky reversal and throws Austin in the ring. Jarrett preceded to dominate the match for a couple minutes before Austin once again gets the upper hand and makes Jarrett pay for his actions.</p><p> </p><p> The match ends after 12:55 when Austin manages to hit the Stunner and get the three count to make his first defence of the Intercontinental title.</p><p> <strong>Grade B+ 84</strong></p><p> </p><p> With the win in the bag, Austin adds insult to injury by opening a can of beer and pouring on the downed Jarrett before kicking him out of his ring.</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 100</strong></p><p> </p><p> The first of three Ministry matches sees Kane take on Ken Shamrock, with Paul Bearer joining Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler at the commentary booth. Knowing these guys strengths, I instructed them to go out there and have a wild brawl and they delivered! Both guys gave it their all and really made it look like they hated each other. After 10 minutes of pushing each other to their limits, Kane secured the Choke Slam for the three count and the win to make it 1-0 Ministry for the night.</p><p> <strong>Grade B 82</strong></p><p> </p><p> In an effort to give the crowd a rest, we positioned the Light Heavyweight title match next as defending champion Jushin Liger battled 2 Cold Scorpio. The guys did their best and despite the crowd not really getting behind them, they put on an okay match. In the end, Liger managed to successfully defend his title for the third time after pinning 2 Cold following a Liger Bomb.</p><p> </p><p> Following the match, the guys shock hands and Liger celebrated</p><p> <strong>Grade C- 56</strong></p><p> </p><p> Ministry match two now, as Mankind and Vader lock horns. Once again, Paul Bearer took the third seat in the commentary booth for this. Like the previous Ministry match, we knew that these guys would thrive in a brawl type of match and so instructed them to do so. </p><p> </p><p> Mankind was clearly the better of the two performers, but neither guy let us down and the match was exceptional. The only negative was the match length being too short, but I am not sure either guy could sustain this type of match of a longer period of time.</p><p> </p><p> In the end, Mankind managed to rough up Vader just enough to hit the Double Arm DDT and get the win to make it 2-0 to the Ministry</p><p> <strong>Grade B+ 88</strong></p><p> </p><p> After a short interval, where Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler tell the fans watching at home what is left on the PPV, we cut to the back as Kane and Paul Bearer congratulate Mankind. The three of them then take their place by the TV to watch Ministry leader Undertaker try and make it a clean sweep</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 100</strong></p><p> </p><p> Final Ministry match of the night next as The Undertaker and Triple H meet in the ring and try and get the win for their respective teams. I had faith that these guys could go out and put on a really good match and so I instructed them to try and steal the show in the hopes that that would push them to the next level.</p><p> </p><p> The guys really did not disappoint and gave it their all out there, really impressing the fans and leaving them buzzing. In what might be considered the shock of the night, Triple H managed to surprise The Undertaker after 19 minutes of exceptional wrestling and hit the Pedigree for the win! Whilst The Undertaker had the upper hand for most of the match, he took his eye off the game towards the end and Triple H took advantage of this lack of respect</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 95</strong></p><p> </p><p> As Triple H makes his way to the back, Paul Bearer enters the ring to comfort The Undertaker who is rising to his feet with a look of angry across his face</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 97</strong></p><p> </p><p> With just one match left, we air a video package summing up the current Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Shawn Michaels feud</p><p> <strong>Grade A 90</strong></p><p> </p><p> Main event of the night saw Shawn Michaels defend his title against Bret Hart, with Owen Hart the special guest referee. These guys have faced off a lot recently and know each other very well. With each of them knowing what to expect from the other, no one managed to have any extended periods of control.</p><p> </p><p> Many expected Owen Hart to give his brother the advantage, but he proved to be a fair referee and enforced the rules, something that Bret took offence to. After Michaels managed to kick out of what appeared to be a sure pinfall, Bret decided he had had enough and he shoved Owen. Owen refused to retaliate, but the distraction did give Michaels enough time to recover and hit the Sweet Chin Music for the pinfall.</p><p> </p><p> The wrestling on show was sensational and the crowd loved what was on show, but this was the fourth time that this match has been done recently and it suffered because of it. This was my fault and I will take the blame for the grade.</p><p> <strong>Grade C+ 69</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"> Overall Grade B- 76</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"> Buy Rate 0.32 (131,602)</span></strong></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>---</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em> This was on course to becoming a very strong PPV before the main event which whilst showcased some amazing wrestling, was punished for happening so often recently. A quick note, to those who care, I am treating some wrestlers as tweeners as opposed to having them be strictly heel or face. However, tweener isn't an actual option and so some of my matches will be penialsied for heel/heel and face/face matchups. This is just something I'll have to live with because right now, I don't consider Austin or Rock to be a strict face or heel

Stallone, who fight fans will know from his time playing Rocky, will be present throughout Wrestlemania.</p><p> </p><p> The fans seemed impressed that we managed to get one of the biggest actors in the world in Stallone to have a part in Wrestlemania. Hopefully the mainstream exposure that this brings will increase buyrates</p><p> <strong>Grade A 90</strong></p><p> </p><p> First wrestling contest of the night featured on half of the Tag Team champions in Road Dogg, who took on tough Lightweight Bob Holly. In the end, the size and big match experience of Road Dogg proved too much for Holly, who couldn't kick out of the pin following a Piledriver</p><p> <strong>Grade C 63</strong></p><p> </p><p> The New Age Outlaws, who are flying high currently, cuts a promo on all the tag teams they have beaten recently. They tell everyone that it has become clear that no one team can beat them and they will hold the titles for a very long time. The crowd ate it up</p><p> <strong>Grade B+ 83</strong></p><p> </p><p> The Rock, who is on a 12 match unbeaten run in singles competition, squared off against Chainz next. In what ended up being a surprisingly good match, The Rock makes it 13 wins as he gets the pinfall</p><p> <strong>Grade B 78</strong></p><p> </p><p> As is tradition, The Rock calls for a mic and reminds everyone that he is unstoppable and will continue to win until he is considered the best ever. As he says this, gold confetti rains down from above, covering the ring. Rock took this as a sign to leave, which he did with a look of confusion</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 100</strong></p><p> </p><p> In a rematch from three weeks prior, D'Lo Brown and Godfather once again defeat The Godwinns. The match was okay and acted as a decent spot filler. </p><p> <strong>Grade C- 57</strong></p><p> </p><p> Intercontinental champion was due to face Ahmed Johnson in a non-title match, but failed to show up. As the ref waves the match off, we cut to the back and see Austin laid out on the floor with Sid Vicious beating him down</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 100</strong></p><p> </p><p> The Sultan, whose manager The Jackal recently promised that Sultan would hold gold soon, takes on European champion Steve Blackman next in a RAW title match! Sultan gave Blackman a really difficult time and looked to be on his way to victory when William Regal entered the ring, belt in hand and laid out Blackman, resulting in a no contest</p><p> <strong>Grade C- 57</strong></p><p> </p><p> Following the attack, Regal exits the ring and grabs a microphone, warning Blackman and Sultan that "This is my title, Sonny Jims!"</p><p> <strong>Grade C 60</strong></p><p> </p><p> In a show of utter dominance, Kane takes on the challenge of developmental talents Andrew Martin, Chris Harris and James Storm in a 3 on 1 match. The performance suffered from having three wrestlers with a lack of experience in the ring, but this wasn't about putting on a good match, merely showcasing the force that is Kane. Kane picked up the win after he Choke Slammed all three in succession and pinned Chris Harris</p><p> <strong>Grade C- 54</strong></p><p> </p><p> Mankind joined his stablemate in the ring and issued a warning to Triple H, Shamrock and Vader, "Undertaker is preparing your final resting place"</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 100</strong></p><p> </p><p> A three way video interview next, as Bret Hart, Owen Hart and WWF champion Shawn Michaels all report in from their homes. We decided to give the guys a night off as a reward for all the hard work they've put in in the Wrestlemania run up, but we pre-recorded something to keep the feud hot.</p><p> </p><p> The interview began with the Hart brothers going back and forth whilst Michaels watches on. Owen and Bret have had a lot of issues recently and they didn't hold back here. Owen accuses Bret of being jealous of his Royal Rumble win and trying to sabotage his Wrestlemania opportunity. Bret fired back, claiming that Owen deliberately made sure that he didn't win the title at No Way Out because Owen knows that he can't beat his brother. This resulted in Bret and Owen shouting over one another whilst Michaels laughs and declares that he will walk out of Wrestlemania as champion so all this sibling arguing is pointless anyway</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 100</strong></p><p> </p><p> The main event of the night saw Triple H, Ken Shamrock and Vader try and build some momentum ahead of Wrestlemania as they take on the heel team of Faarooq, British Bulldog and Jeff Jarrett. The former three have really bonded over the past couple months and it showed in their performance as they worked as a well oiled machine to pick up the win when Triple H hit Jarrett with the Ace Crusher</p><p> <strong>Grade B 78</strong></p><p> </p><p> As the guys celebrate their win, the lights dim and Undertaker appears on the bug screen. He is stood in front of three graves and says that Wrestlemania will be Ministry v Triple H, Shamrock and Vader in an elimination tag match. And the Ministry will bury them all, one by one, until they are the only three left standing in the ring</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 100</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Overall Rating B 82</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">TV Rating 20.95</span></strong></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>---</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em>A good show as we get closer to Wrestlemania. Just two more RAWs left now, before the biggest show of the year! Unfortunately, Nitro also put on a good show and actually beat us with a grade of B+ 85.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> WCW also hosted their annual SuperBrawl PPV which even I will admit was awesome. The main event saw Hollywood Hulk Hogan once again retain his WCW World Heavyweight title, this time against long term friend Scott Hall.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> As previously mentioned, expect to see some debuts in the next couple months. Most will be with little fanfare, but their will act as good coverage to allow me to plump the roster out a bit</em></p></div><p></p>

Bret Hart will do battle with his brother and number one contender, Owen Hart. Should Bret win, he will go to to the Wrestlemania main event alongside Owen and Shawn Michaels. If Shawn Michaels interferes in the match, then he will be stripped of his title and removed from the Wrestlemania main event.</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 98</strong></p><p> </p><p> The Tag Team champions, the New Age Outlaws do battle with developmental and former ECW tag team champions The Dudley Boyz. Whilst The Dudley Boyz held their own for a while and demonstrated some very promising offence, their lack of WWF experience ultimately proved to be their downfall and Bubba Ray walked into a Gunn Slinger, giving the New Age Outlaws the win</p><p> <strong>Grade C 64</strong></p><p> </p><p> New Age Outlaws take to the mic to cut a generic promo about how they are on a different level to the rest of the tag divison</p><p> <strong>Grade B+ 85</strong></p><p> </p><p> Vader in singles action next as he takes on Jeff Jarrett, who he previously faced in 3 on 3 competition last week. Vader's size and strength was too much for Double J to handle and when Vader connected with the Power Bomb, there was nothing Jarrett could do</p><p> <strong>Grade B 82</strong></p><p> </p><p> Battle of the seasoned travelers next as European contender William Regal faces Marty Jannetty. Jannetty has been in the game a long time and knows what it takes to win, however Regal is such a wily wrestler and always seem to come out on top. Things were no different here as Regal gets the pinfall and victory</p><p> <strong>Grade C 65</strong></p><p> </p><p> This prompted Steve Blackman to storm the ring and brawl with Regal, as Cornette and Sunny stand by and do battle verbally</p><p> <strong>Grade C 64</strong></p><p> </p><p> Perennial Light Heavyweight contender TAKA Michinoku secures the pinfall victory over Brian Christopher after connecting with the Michinoku Driver II</p><p> </p><p> The Light Heavyweight title match for Wrestlemania has yet to be announced. Could TAKA have done enough to earn himself a spot?</p><p> <strong>Grade C 61</strong></p><p> </p><p> The Rock takes on tag teamer Blackjack Bradshaw. Bradshaw fought hard to make in a brawl, but eventual the Rocks youth and talent shone through and he hit the Rock Bottom for the win continuing his winning streak</p><p> <strong>Grade B 81</strong></p><p> </p><p> The Rock calls out the prankster who keeps messing with him. After a moment of waiting, out comes a returning Goldust! Goldust explains to Rock that he doesn’t mean to make him angry, he just wants to be a part of the Rock blockbuster story! Rock says he can face him at Wrestlemania and become another number in the streak</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 99</strong></p><p> </p><p> Steve Austin in action next as he faces off against his would-be opponent from last week, Ahmed Johnson. The two guys put on a really impressive brawl, with Austin winning with the Stunner at the 8 minute mark</p><p> </p><p> Interestingly, Austin debuted a new high spot in the match and the crowd really popped for it. His psychology will be helped as he can use it as his go-to spot in future</p><p> <strong>Grade B 81</strong></p><p> </p><p> Following the match, Austin calls Sid Vicious out. Sid comes out and laughs at Austin from the ramp before turning and leaving without answering the challenge</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 100</strong></p><p> </p><p> We cut to the backstage area as Triple H, Ken Shamrock and Vader are seen searching for any sign of the Ministry. They enter various locker rooms, stopping to ask anyone they see whether they had seen them. Eventually they enter a room to find three coffins, but no Ministry members</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 100</strong></p><p> </p><p> The main event sees the two Hart brothers square off, with a chance in the main event of Wrestlemania for Bret Hart. Just before the bell rings, Shawn Michaels joins Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler at the commentary booth. The guys put on the type of wrestling performance that they have become known for, with lots of back and forth action. Bret made a point of targeting Owens leg throughout the match, before locking in the Sharpshooter forcing Owen to tap or risk being too injured to go to Wrestlemania</p><p> <strong>Grade B 79</strong></p><p> </p><p> We go off the air as Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels get into a screaming contest as Owen lays on the ring floor clutching his injured leg</p><p> <strong>Grade A* 100</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Overall Rating B 82</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">TV Rating 20.93</span></strong></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>---</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em>A decent show, but we really need to start pushing on and hitting higher numbers.
