Chemistry that made you smile

Recommended Posts

You know when you throw two guys in a match together and you get a note about their chemistry. Let's have the stories of the times it made you smile.

Playing TEW13 I remember the first team with excellent chemistry was Acid and Acid II together which really pleased me.

On 16 I'm playing a real world mod and Kevin Owens and Triple H have excellent chemistry as a team. As do Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura, needless to say I can't wait for that feud to dominate the next year.

When I first brought up The Undertaker from development in 1988, I started testing him out on the house shows to find good chemistry. I found a few positive notes but the one that stood out and made me smile was against Bret Hart. I spend the next two years building them both up before they fought in the main event at Wrestlemania VII, pulling a 99 rating with Undertaker winning. They met again the next month, pulling a 98 rating, with Hart becoming the first man to pin the Undertaker.

One of my favourites (but not among my most important chemistry discoveries in any way) was Jim Duggan and The Patriot, whom I was going to team together as Team America. They had great chemistry, which was a great satisfaction to behold.

I set up a tournament in my C-Verse fed a while back that wound up with Kirk Jameson against Jefferson Stardust in the final. They'd never worked together before...and wound up having great chemistry, popping an out-of-nowhere 99 rating. I ran a rematch the next month that got a 96, and it's nice to have two fairly young guys who I can put together at any point for a legitimately great match.

<p>Booking the JCP '87 Crockett Cup. I want to bring in the Von Erichs as Heels to feud with the Freebirds. However, they take a long time to respond to my contract offers -- long enough that they miss two TV tapings. When Mike and Kevin get to JCP [Kerry was injured], Mike Von Erich shows up in no condition to work -- strung out on drugs. I need to make a last-second substitution: Big Bubba Rogers would team with Kevin in the first round. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>I get two chemistry notes:</strong></p><p>

First, Bubba Rogers has excellent chemistry with Kevin Von Erich. </p><p>

Second, Bubba has great chemistry with manager Skandor Akbar. </p><p> </p><p>

Really launched the Skandor's Devastation Inc. from a few-month spot deal to a permanent fixture in my Jim Crockett Promotions save.</p>

I went through 25 pre show matches trying to find someone who Zack Ryder who had good or excellent chemistry teaming with so I was very happy to find he had excellent chemistry with Shinsuke Nakamura. Then a day before they won the Tag Titles he announced he as off to film a movie so my plans for them to have a year long title reign was ruined. However he will return with 100 A* popularity so Shinsuke vs Zack Ryder will be a big match at Wrestlemania

<p>WWF 1996</p><p>

Men on a Mission have long split up, so Mable is getting the push while Mo toils on the B card.</p><p> </p><p>

One night, I teamed Mo with EZ Money because I needed two "decent jobbers" to lose to the Rock & Roll Express. It was meant as a one shot.</p><p> </p><p>

Well...when I got the note that Mo and EZ have "great" chemistry, they immediately became "Mo Money". (see what I did there?) The team doesnt win a lot but their vignettes are hilarious. Well, in my head they are...</p>

Bam Bam Bigelow and Big Boss Man as two rough-and-tumble take-no-prisoners ass-kickers in 1997 (now nearly into 2000). It was a prediction contest prize, but they have great chemistry and, while they're by no means tearing it up in the tag team division, they're a pretty great team.

<p>I looked over my roster and realized I had 2 spots in my lower card. I couldn't think of anybody I really wanted so I thought about it and realized.....Hiring two roided out powerhouse workers would be cool. I signed Steel and Anders Thunder as a powerhouse tag team that would ultimately just lose their main matches, and work the B show. </p><p> </p><p>

I renamed them Halo and Drol, they had Amazing Chemistry...and I couldn't stop pushing them.</p>

Triple H and HBK having awful chemistry as tag partners... Well, I guess it's gonna be an alternative version of DX. Or just spam them in tag matches until they reach neutral chemistry...

Does that actually work? I always just avoid Bad chemistry matches.

On the rueful smile side, in my TCW game, Rocky Golden had negative chemistry with so many of my ME heels that I eventually switched alignments for Aaron Andrews and Joey Minnesota in the same match just to give him a second option for an opponent. Joey's still mad.

Apologies for the thread bump, but I've played AAA and QAW enough to see Joanna Silver get good or better chemistry with monster heels more often than not, and I just think it's both hilarious and awesome that someone like Gorgon or Deborah Young has their best matches with the stripper turned wrestling pirate.

I was looking for new tag teams in my CZCW save after Storm Spillane signed a written with TCW and ended the run of the American Cobras. I started by pairing up guys who I already had a decent/good name idea for if they happened to work out, and as luck would have it my top choice of Robbie Wright and Prince Pryce had excellent chemistry as a team. Thus, The Pryce is Wright was born!
