TEW Hall Of Fame 2017 Nomination Phase

Recommended Posts

This is taken from a previous year's Hall of Fame process.

Alright, so this is going to go in two parts. The Nomination phase and the Voting phase. The Voting phase is going to come later so I'll explain that part when we get there. The Nomination phase goes like this:

1. Each person gets 3 choices for Nomination to be placed in my pm box. Only those sent to my pm box will be counted.

2. Each choice gets 1 point per Nomination

3. Self-Nomination IS allowed in this phase but not in the next phase.

4. Top ten in points move on to the Voting phase.

5. Feel free to post publicly in this thread who your nominations are and why people should vote for them.

6. Anyone who has run a diary or created a mod/alt/render is eligible.

7. <p>5. Feel free to post publicly in this thread who your nominations are and why people should vote for them.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm not going to nominate myself, no seriously the 1 so far wasn't from me. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I did want to briefly post why I feel I could be nominated, indeed it's possible TEW players just aren't aware.</p><p> </p><p>

If you're a player of real world historical mod from the The Mod Squad, including Hive's work, justtxyank and others, then the UK & European data along with various belts and cuts will be mine. I've spent months watching some wonderful wrestling to get this all up to scratch, but also some utter UTTER dross. I've also helped others and no doubt had permission to use my work given and not even been aware of it. I know the vast majority don't care about the UK's umpteen belts, VDB in Europe or the EWF on Eurosport etc. I do cling to the hope that someone does though and that that someone appreciates the work. </p><p> </p><p>

I'm also working on a fantasyverse called the GloryVerse. Plus, there'a the 1991 UWF diary that you're all secretly enjoying.</p>

<span style="font-family:TAHOMA;">I would like to get some feedback on instituting a rule that in order to move to the voting round, you have to have more than one point/vote. That means two or more votes in order to be in the top ten to move on to the voting round. For an example, if things ended right now, the cut-off would be jtlant and the top six. But I would love to get input as I don't want to simply change the rules based on my thoughts. We are a community here.</span>

I agree it is probably for the best. In fact I was thinking how would you go about deciding who goes on and I think your rule is probably the fairest way of doing things.

The only rule I ever had an issue with was the whole,"Anyone in the HOF gets more votes than everyone else." I just felt it was very elitist and I am glad to see that rule gone.
