That's known in FP circles as the "Boot Sim", a phenomenon in which the game does randomly pick an RNG seed number when you boot it, and then you sim a match with whatever settings and people, and then if you choose NOT to save afterward and then you RESET the game, instead of actually randomly picking another seed, it continues to pick the same number it picked the last time, and if you sim a match with the exact same settings you just did the last time, the match will play out EXACTLY THE SAME as it did before.

The seed number changes after that match to result in a differently simmed match, but if you do the Boot Sim method without saving at all between matches and without exiting the match menu between matches, you can literally sim the exact same SEQUENCE of matches repeatedly.

That's one of the things they made sure to fix in World, so that Boot Sims no longer exist.

HOWEVER, if you enter a seed number in the More Match Options tool in Carlzilla's Mod Suite, you can sim a match exactly the same multiple times, without the need for resetting the game each time.

Was it solved this time? Thank you.)

Further to fullMetal's reply note that all games use a faux-random pre-fixed sequence of numbers, as computers are incapable of picking a truly random number becuase they do not have free will. This is actually true. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

HUGE UPDATE: Spike-Chunsoft has announced a projected Summer release for the PS4 version of Fire Pro Wrestling World, AND Spike-Chunsoft & NJPW have announced OFFICIAL New-Japan Pro Wrestling DLC to hit Fire Pro Wrestling World around the same time, for both the PS4 and Steam versions!

Patch v1.0100 published!

Patch notes:

https://steamcommunity.com/games/564230/announcements/detail/2808425493225257124

New quality-of-life fixes, including some UI fixes and some in-match fixes. See details in patch post.

New moves added - non-pinning versions of Irish Whip Thesz Press and Powerslam, front grapple Michinoku Driver and Falcon Arrow; Brass Knuckles Punch; indie-riffic Corkscrew Cannonball Senton from top rope; Body Press Powerslam (Road Warrior Animal's "Remember That" from SVR, not Goldberg's Press to Front Slam); Cactus Jack's Pulling Piledriver; Dead-lift German Suplex pin back grapple; and Uproot German Suplex from Ground Facing Down (previously only in Ground Face-Down MMA Mount)

I would also additionally like to point out, in an additional effort to spur on people to buy FPWW, that even though the game was first released last July, that Spike-Chunsoft has been continually patching it for fixes even now (some patches have come more than once a week, in fact), whereas WWE 2k18 has only been patch-fixed 7 times so far since its release in October, and those fixes have been relatively and comparatively few so far.

So, if you haven't already started making them, my vaguely-general recommendation would be to start by copying the real-life wrestler (I recommend using edits made by Otaku, DJKM, Phil Parent, Jae, and a couple others) closest to the ones on your roster, then edit that copy to look like your wrestler, change moves/skills/parameters where applicable, and then in the Logic section to only tweak each move percentage by 1-3% per move (then the personality logics by 1-5% per section) to give it a slightly different feel from the original wrestler you copied from.

If you ever upload them to the Workshop, make sure you credit the original edit-maker for the base. :)

Really torn on this game. On the one hand, I've really missed having a wrestling game to play as I really haven't been comfortable in the WWE games since they introduced the WWE Universe. It really feels like if you want to get the most out of the game's primary function you gotta be willing to be Miz in this match. Then Daniel Bryan in that one. Then AJ Styles in that one over there and keep bouncing around and back and forth to make the Universe work to its optimal potential and I've never been able to find the fun in that. If I'm The Miz, I'd rather just be him and see the E from his perspective until I either get him to the top or the set period of the career mode ends a la HCTP. I miss roaming around the locker either making deals with guys or fighting them off like the games where you had the rigid story modes for individual guys. The random matches with Mystery Man Q or X pr whoever who was made up of the new CAW pieces you could use if you won the match. If I want to play random matches with a different guy every time out vs a different guy every time out, that what Exhibition Mode is supposed to be for.

On the other hand, I had the Fire Pro game for PS2 and it felt like I could only get so much out of it. Everybody seemed to have been "Bulk Broganed" so I could only decipher who so many guys were meant to be. Which kept me away from a large chunk of the roster. And when I got into the ring, it was a whole lot of kicking, a lot of punching, occasionally hitting moves I didn't understand how I'd made them and 1,2,3. Here's your winner. Which was almost never me because the game knew how to perform so much better than I did.

Now I understand all the folks from New Japan are going to be themselves this time around. So there will be no Enny Komegas or Iomoro Tushiies. But that's not a big help for me. I don't have the means to really comfortable with those guys and care about most of them. So how am I going to get out of exploratory mode and actually get into the flow of the game? I'm rubbish with CAW's and I imagine once again licensing issues and lack of puro familiarity will mean a hefty chunk of the roster will be strangers to me.

That's the beauty of Fire Pro World though, the Workshop (if you're using the Steam version, no word yet on cross-platform compatibility with the PS4 version when it comes out) has everybody you're familiar with, with some of the best versions of them from some really good edit-makers.

And for those guys you haven't seen before, downloading the Fire Pro Anthology from Phil Parent (yup, that one) is a good primer: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=969098667

For getting yourself into the *playing* aspect of the game, the first 5 (or 10) Missions of the Mission Mode are actually a gameplay tutorial (which is not easy to know at first glance since Japanese devs have never been good in general at indicating that sort of thing within another thig), to show new players how to play the game and to refresh older players on things like timing on the 60fps HD setup.

(All you would need to do before diving into that is to check the button/key bindings in the Options to know which button does what)

Here's a set of pretty helpful guides to get you settled into the game: http://www.criticalclub.com/board/4/guides

In terms of creating your own custom edits to populate your fantasy fed, since it can sometimes get daunting (even for veterans) trying to do each one from scratch (WWE's is more tedious rather than daunting, but still pretty easy), prolific edit-maker DJKM has put together a set of templates you can copy from and make alterations to in order to fit your own character: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1089170802

(Just think of using them like building a wrestler from a template in TEW)

The default 30-person SWA roster of the game is more like a group of template wrestlers this time around (except for basically Dag Boomer, who pretty much *is* Vader) rather than straight-up renames to avoid legal trouble with licensing, so this time you won't really have to worry about "which wrestler is this person supposed to be?" with them (like really, who are Bobby Bobby and Ernest "Not The Cat" Miller supposed to be, right?), and are mainly there to *play* against, as their logic and stats don't even really play friendly with the Returns defaults (whose logic and stats in turn were meant to be played against by you rather than simmed against each other).

Well, the "Fire Pro Anthology" is comprised entirely of the people who have showed up in the Fire Pro Wrestling games. ALL of the people, from ALL of the Fire Pro wrestling games.

That mainly means Japanese wrestlers, and a reasonable amount of the more popular Americans from the late 80's through late 90s, plus some TNA/indy guys that were present in Fire Pro Returns (2005/2007).

(Bryan Danielson, AJ Styles, and a few other notables)

As for how deep the non-Fire Pro wrestlers go? Let's use the Real World mods for the various iterations of TEW/EWR as the comparison here: almost everyone who's in them, and literally a couple thousand real wrestlers who aren't. (Along with tons of fictional characters, original characters, and even multiple versions of the Megazord from Power Rangers, and actual burgers and cans)

The Community Creations on the WWE games has nothing on the sheer BREADTH of characters on Fire Pro's workshop.

Meanwhile, ANOTHER IMPORTANT UPDATE: Fire Pro World on PS4 is now RELEASED over in Japan and will be coming out on the PS4 in the US on the 28th, which will also be the date that the New Japan DLC hits for the Steam version as well.

BIG UPDATE: The NJPW DLC is now available for the PC version, for $19.99.

New wrestlers, moves, and the "Fighting Road: NJPW Heavyweight" mode are available in the set.

Details here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/912460/Fire_Pro_Wrestling_World_New_Japan_ProWrestling_Collaboration/

In addition, the base game is now update-patched to Version 2.0000 to match the PS4 base version.

The update adds some bug-fixes, 3 more Voice slots to use in the Skills section, new moves, and the UI is updated to what I like to refer as "Fire Pro Tekken" style.

Details here: https://steamcommunity.com/games/564230/announcements/detail/1693807861239284054

One unfortunate note is that with this base-game update, all mods being used through Version 1.02 will no longer work properly/at all...at least until the mod makers decide whether or not to update them to catch up with the update.
