By the way - I intend to break the 80% rule.

I do have decent reason though - The mod is very short of Australasian workers (1 possible ref, 1 possible announcer etc) and that got me looking first at who was available and noticing a bunch of people who work here on occasion who aren't listed as doing so. If I just played by the 80% rule I would have a choice of 116 possible in ring workers - including 56 year old Godfather and almost all of whom aren't particularly popular. So less than 5% of the workforce is available to me under the 80%. So yeah that rule is gonna get broken.

If you were starting a fed here you do what Andrew McManus did back in 2001 when he started WWA in 2001 and hire a few big name mercenaries and pad your roster with other peoples castoffs. It's weird because it failed but you look at who he hired back then and he was reasonably astute in terms of who they picked up AJ Styles, Brian Adams & Bryan Clark, Buff Bagwell, Ernest Miller, Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels, Devon Storm, Eddie Guerrero, Gangrel, Ghost Walker, Jeff Jarrett, Kazarian, Jerry Lynn, Konnan, Low-Ki, Norman Smiley, The Steiners, Sting, Stevie Ray, Road Dogg, Sabu, Shane Douglas, Bret Hart as Commisoner. He actually gave it a red hot go in the aftermath of the WCW collapse and in many ways it was a dry run for TNA which it's titles rolled into. Circumstances meant they had very few Ozzies - Nathan Jones, Mark Mercedes and a couple of jobbers. I'm in a better position than they were choice wise but not by a huge amount.

Ausssie All pro co-promoted House of Hardcore just ran shows down here a few weeks back and almost none of the workers have been updated to reflect that they can work here. I'm not talking about stars but solid mid carders like Carlito, MVP (who works here every year for the last few years), Jack Swagger, Bull James, Matt Cross, Young Bucks, The Squad (Kenny & Mikey), Colt Cabana & Ryan Nemeth all wrestled in Australia within the last month. Jeremy Borash used to work here for the WWA that started in 2001.

So yeah you'll find me drafting Samoan's and Tongans (even though they are somewhat bizarrely not set up to work in what is effectively their home area). I was also thinking of using some non Japanese workers from Asia as if you were starting a biggish fed here that's one of the things you'd consider doing to get those markets (which aren't reflected in game).

I looked through the workers and found a few pics I really like or from really obscure locations and if things are running low late in the draft you might see some truly bizarre picks from me of people nobody has ever heard of. Sure they aren't Australian but I somehow think very few people are going to consider drafting obscure South Americans working as enhancement talent in Mexico (especially given nobody is playing a Lucha fed).

I'm still going to be picking a predominately Anzac flavoured fed but in the tradition of the old Australian WCW it's also going to have a fair % of somewhat bizarre imports because frankly I don't have a lot of choice other than do it.

Im really hyped for this draft. Having the first Pick overall is putting some pressure on my company. There are quite a few Workers im considering. Since my company is based more on performance, i have to take a good in-ring worker and not somebody who is just popular.
