July 2017 Draft Hype/Signup Thread

Recommended Posts

At this point you can really see the formula for each falling in place. Mine is clearly a home for talking brawlers with decent basics but it's definitly not going to be a high flyers flippity flopity style fed like rockambitions. No diss on the high energy style its just my guys on the whole couldn't work that to save their lives. I could have layed money on HRTV picking Mutants with that last pick because it just fits.

It's interesting to see how things are shaking out.

Dr. A and Uncrewed are like NJPW split in two.

I think that's fair. Uncrewed is supplementing his half NJPW roster with ex-NJPW guys, WWE and RoH people, I'm filling my roster with a joshi division and some odd guys from Dragon's Gate and NOAH.

Compared to the C-verse draft I was in previously, this has been an incredibly tight draft so far. All the time I feel I've missed out on draft picks one round (or less) before I was about to pick them myself. Part of that is because we are three companies with similar products (and a fourth, HRTVAndrew's RSW isn't miles apart either), so both PCW and WRP have drafted guys right before I was about to pick them - Nakamura, Naito, Kota Ibushi, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Steen, Ricochet, Akira Tozawa, YAMATO, KENTA, Keiji Mutoh were all guys that probably would not have lasted one more round than they did. And still I can't be dissatisfied, because I got the guys I wanted, we just happen to be a big crowd in a rather tight niche.

Having picked up Io Shirai and finding out that southside_hitmen were about to draft her was possibly the biggest relief thus far. I think I would have packed up and gone home (or made a big trade offer) if I had not gotten the two figureheads of my joshi division. There would barely be a point to it if I didn't have Io to complement Kana.

If anyone wants that worldwide coverage feel free to send me a trade offer for coverage on the network (lets say a 30th rnd pick) - Fridays & Saturdays are taken as is every week 2 Sunday but the rest of the week is open. If you want tv deals you need to draft them or try to get one in game - which can be tough for start-up feds - so it all depends on your strategy as to whether being on the former WWE Network is worth it. Its subscription so your growth is slower than say Free to Air but it has worldwide coverage. There are always providers with better local coverage but they often have low patience/ low risk levels or stances against wrestling. If you are looking at growing your pop outside your home area then the WWAA might be a decent option for you. It's especially good if you're from the USA and okay if you're from Canada (Medium and Small coverage respectively). I figured I'd let you all know it was still an open option in case anyone felt like going that way coverage wise.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> A follow up question for Uncrewed (or anyone else able to answer it, I guess): My alliance partner PCW have acquired the NJPW Network. If we come to an agreement which would allow WWJ to appear on their network, would I have to spend a draft pick on that? Or is that something we just declare the terms of, and it's done?</p>

Between all these alliances and agreements we stand alone, since nobody seems to like us <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Sorry for holding up proceedings. I'm hoping to get a response to a trade offer I've made before I make my pick. The last two picks hit me in the gut (even if I could have seen Uncrewed's pick of Tomahawk on his draft list. Why did the rest of you take all his earlier choices?!).

<p>I'd like to make Keiji Mutoh, who I drafted earlier, my booker (to go along with Hogan as my owner).</p><p> </p><p>

Liking my roster so far, even if it's a hair on the old side. It's cool to have both Motor City Machine Guns, for sure!</p>

It kind of reflected some sort of real world deal.</p><p> </p><p> Rockambition gets that deal and I get 30th pick. I got around it by making 5 titles and having 2 women's and a mixed. I know girls get drafted less which meant I could stock up mid draft and still have something workable. I went that way because the Australasian girls are strong. </p><p> </p><p> If u make the trios non gender specific you could grab a few free agent girls post draft to help fill up the women and trios ranks. That allows you to concentrate on juniors in the draft.</p><p> </p><p> I am going to hire ozzie men largely post draft because I can cherry pick then. It I's a bit tougher for u but the other Japan feds are largely male based so you should still have some good girls to cherry pick to meet your needs in game.</p>

<p>Oh, I feel I have the joshi market locked down. My friend in the Strong Style Wrestling Alliance is filling out their women's division and might take some women I would have liked in our company (Mayu Iwatani, I'm looking at you), but I can't really complain that I can't get *everyone* I wanted, right? That's not how drafts work. I have the complete Triple Tails in Kana, Io and Mio. I'm so stoked about that I can barely sit still. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

But starting the game out with seven different titles might be too much. I'm not sure I'll remove all the titles I suggested, but at least one or two of them I think will be gone. Turning the two tag team titles into one openweight title seems like the first and easiest change.</p>
