WWE Diary: Booking A Territory

Recommended Posts

I've always thought that you had to be good with Photobucket and the like to be able to have a good, successful diary around these parts. Recent events have shown that not to be the case. The rise of picture-less diaries and the thorough enjoyment I had whilst reading through To4sty's excellent 96 diary without pictures have shown that content is king.

I am shit at picture stuff, I am a bit better with words. Don't expect two paragraph promo's though, this is an outlet for me to share my game and hopefully you enjoy.

Real World Game starting July 17 using Fleisch's RW Data.

No predictions for the TV's as they're fairly predictable. Will run for the PPV's though depending on interest. Just think Dear reader, if you are the only one to predict, you'll always win!

Without further waffle, Raw Week 1 of July will be up shortly and a massive thanks for anyone that actually takes the time to read this!

WWE RAW - July - Week 1

Seg 1; Samoa Joe makes his way to the ring. He is very confident of beating Brock Lesnar at Great Balls Of Fire. Lesnar has felt Joe's "clutches" and everyone saw the distress Brock was in last week due to Joe. He promises that he will be the new Universal Champ, maybe even defending it more than once a Summer. This brings out Lesnar, flanked by Heyman. As Lesnar does his customary leap onto the apron, Joe rushes him, knocking him to the floor. Following Lesnar, Joe mounts and beats on Lesnar as Heyman watches helplessly in horror. Lesnar manages to shift his hips and flips Joe over, raining down punches of his own on The Destroyer. Kurt Angle leads out a swarm of refs and security to break the two men up. Neither looks like they want to wait 13 days until GBOF. Grade - B

Seg 2; Seth Rollins comfortably defeats Curtis Axel with the Rainmaker Knee. Wyatt appears on the video wall after the match and cuts a promo on Rollins, managing to say a lot without really saying anything. Grade - C/B+

Seg 3; Ahead of the upcoming Number One Contenders match for the Tag Titles Sheamus and Cesaro cut a promo on The Hardys about them being the bar, them leading an era of tag team wrestling, emphasising the last word. The Hardys are a bygone era, an attitude era act well past its sell by date. They say that if The Hardys manage to get past Anderson and Gallows then they'll be waiting. Grade - C

Seg 4; The Hardys vs Anderson and Gallows. The Hardys take this hard-fought match with a Twist of Fate/Swanton combo. The Club don't look too happy and Cesaro and Sheamus' over-confidence on commentary seems to have waned a bit. Grade - C

Seg 5; Elias Samson sings about Finn Balor taunting his jacket and hair style, calling them not worthy of a real man. He goes on to defeat Jack Gallagher without too much issue. Grade D-/D

Seg 6; Braun Strowman cuts a promo about Roman Reigns. He vows to put an end to his career at Great Balls Of Fire. Grade - A

Seg 7; Akira Tozawa vs TJP. Tozawa is looking to build momentum ahead of his match with Neville. Tozawa goes on to defeat TJP cleanly with the snap German. Grade C-

Seg 8; Big Cass cuts a promo on Enzo Amore, claiming he is where the money is and he is glad to be rid of the 90 pound deadweight. The next time he sees Enzo, he wont be as gracious as the last time and promises to put Amore out for good. Elsewhere in the building Amore is watching this with Kurt Angle. He demands a match with Cass. Angle is only too happy to agree but has a word of warning for the feisty Amore. Cass is a big, powerful guy with a point to prove so Amore needs to formulate a plan. Grade - C-/B

Seg 9; Time for Miz TV with special guest Dean Ambrose. The Miz taunts Dean about taking his IC title, which was the only thing Ambrose had that gave him any sort of relevance in the WWE. Miz calls Ambrose a choker. Unable to defeat Rollins all those years back, unable to beat Lesnar, unable to keep hold of the WWE title and then unable to cope being on the same show as a bonafide Superstar as The Miz. Ambrose scratches his head and smirks. He goes to speak but before he can retort Miz decks him with the mic. He doesn't allow Ambrose time to recover, pouncing on him and nailing him with the Scull Crushing Finale before grabbing his title and exiting. Grade - A+

Seg 10; Bayley v Summer Rae. Bayley gets the win comfortably with a Bayley 2 Belly. The announcers put over how Bayley needs wins under her belt to reverse the downward momentum of the past couple of months. Grade - D-

Seg 11; Alexa Bliss confidently makes her way to the ring. She puts over how easy it has been for her since her move to Raw. She dominated Smackdown and has dominated Raw so far, defeating Bayley when no one else could and then destroying her spirit with a kendo stick. She calls the Four Horsewoman of Nxt a glorified catchphrase as none of the Four are champions on either brand. This brings out a determined looking Sasha. She takes a mic and runs down Bliss, calling her a little Princess who won't have the heart for a true fight. Sasha questions that maybe the reason Bliss dislikes the Four Horsewomen so much is that Bliss wasn't part of it. Whilst they were tearing down the house, she was but a little mouthpiece who wanted to play with the big girls, but just wasn't good enough. At GBOF, Sasha will show Bliss just why they call her "The Boss". Grade - C+

Seg 12; Samoa Joe vs Mustafa Ali. Joe, furious at the events earlier in the evening makes short work of Ali, withstanding a late hope spot by booting Ali out of the air and locking on the Coquina Clutch for the win. Heyman comes out post-match, alone and informs Joe that Lesnar is not a happy bunny. This is one blindside too many. Joe has awoken a side to Brock that Heyman hasn't seen in years. Grade - D+/B+

Seg 13; Kurt Angle announces that next week we will see Roman Reigns take on Samoe Joe! Grade - B

Seg 14; Austin Aries and Kalisto vs Tony Nese and The Brian Kendrick. More fast-paced Cruiser action sees Kalisto join the division. He and Aries gel very well as they take the fight to Nese and Kendrick. Aries makes Nese submit to the Last Chancery after Kalisto blocks Kendrick from getting involved with a Salida Del Sol. Aries and Kalisto celebrate post match. Grade - C-

Seg 15; We cut backstage just in time to see Cedric Alexander unsuccessfully try and fight off The Revival, getting beaten to the Ground as Dash and Dawson look to show that Fists beat Flips everytime. Grade - C-

Seg 16; Roman Reigns vs Bray Wyatt. Main event time now sees two storied rivals battle it out. Reigns gets the win in a hard fought, long match after nailing two spears and numerous superman punches. Wyatt puts up a good showing though, kicking out of numerous high impact moves but Roman is too strong. As Reigns celebrates Braun Strowman marches down to the ring and procedes to destroy Reigns. He fights off some tired looking punches and clubs Reigns. He picks up the tired Samoan and plants him with a face first Chokeslam. He puts his foot on his chest, lifts up both arms and Roars. Grade - B-/B+

Next Week. Reigns takes on Joe and the go-home show for GBOF.

Opinions, feedback and criticism welcome!

WWE Smackdown Live! - July - Week 1

Smackdown opens with an announcement that Aj Styles will be taking on Kevin Owens for the coveted US Title....tonight!

Seg 1; Sami Zayn is shown walking backstage, apparently preparing for his match...when suddenly he is blindsided by......Rusev! The Big Bulgarian mows down Zayn and throws him around the backstage area, leaving with a sneer and a battered Zayn on the floor. Grade - C+

Seg 2; Shinsuke Nakamura makes a spectacular entrance for his match with Baron Corbin. Corbin's entrance is a bit lighter on theatrics, he just wants to get into the ring and fight. Grade - B+

Seg 3; Nakamura v Corbin. A solid match between the two. Corbin uses his power to try and keep Nakamura down, it doesn't work though...Nakamura has been beaten down by bigger men that Corbin and he makes a comeback, nailing Corbin with a neck breaker and sets Corbin up for the Kinshasa!!! Corbin sees Nakamura and rolls out, backing up the ramp giving Nakamura an unsatisfying count-out win. Grade - B

Seg 4: Nakamura celebrates his win nonetheless, taking in all four corners of the crowd. Bit of a mistake though as Corbin attacks from behind with a vicious elbow to the back of the head. He throws Shinsuke to the outside, following him with a big boot to the back of the head. He proceeds to ram Shinsuke into the steel steps before hitting an End of Days on the outside of the ring. Corbin looks satisfied with his work. Grade - B

Seg 5; Dolph Ziggler vs Chad Gable. A good back and forth match between the two. Gable and Ziggler are top amateur wrestlers and it shows in the early part of this match. Ziggler, frustrated with his lack of progress decides to take a different route and lays into Gable with a straight right, causing Gables eyes to water. Ziggler proceeds to lay into Gable with kicks, punches and elbows....a far cry from the amateur style shown earlier in the match. Gable, as game as he is, isn't quite at Zigglers level when it comes to a fist fight and despite a game comeback, falls prey to a lethal superkick. Ziggler wins. Grade - B-

Seg 6; Jinder Mahal makes his way into the ring. He cuts a promo about the lack of respect being shown to him by fans and proceeds to taunt the crowd. Orton hears enough and makes his way to the ring. Not through the entrance ramp, but through the crowd. The fans begin to get louder as they realise this and Mahal gets irritated in the ring. As he is turning and shouting at the crowd Orton takes out the Singh Brothers, rather roughly. He grabs a mic and sands toe to toe with Mahal. Orton brings the mic to his mouth...then drops Mahal with an RKO. Orton smirks and lifts up the Title. Grade - B+

Seg 7; Carmella v Jobber. Carmella makes light work of the jobber, choking her out in two minutes. She then grabs a mic and tells Naomi to watch her back as she is coming for her, and her belt. Grade - D+/D

Seg 8; Daniel Bryan is in the back, watching the monitor. He turns to the hard camera. He has an announcement. Next week, there will be a Fatal 4 Way for the Women's No.1 Contendership. The participants....Charlotte, Tamina, Natalya and Becky Lynch! Grade - C

Seg 9; New Day v The Ascension. New Day make light work of the Big Men, taunting them as they go, Xavier Woods a constant mouth on the outside. Big E gets the win with an impressive Big Ending on Konnor..harking back to their NXT days. They get mics after the match, they're not happy with The Uso's and they want their titles back. They have spoken to Daniel Bryan and they get a rematch at Battleground. Grade - C+/B-

Seg 10: Kevin Owens v AJ Styles. Prior to the match we had inset interviews with both guys. Styles is happy he finally gets a title shot. Owens thinks that when he beats AJ tonight, AJ should just leave him and his US title alone.

It’s a good match, as expected between these two. We get towards the two hour mark of Smackdown and you can sense the desperation in AJ as he nails Owens with a Pele kick. He gets himself to the Phenomenal Forearm position but Owens manages to fall into the ropes, leaving AJ flat out on the ring apron. Owens follows him out and picks AJ up, ready to smash him with a Pop up Powerbomb (PUP from now on) when a figure jumps over the rail and nails Owens with a forearm to the back of the head! Of course this is all in front of the ref and AJ is disqualified. Aj recovers and looks confused. The mystery figure looks down at Aj and only Aj can see his face. Aj looks shocked, to say the least but before he can confront him, the figure hops the barrier and disappears. The show closes with a close up of AJ whilst Owen is cradling his title outside the ring. Grade - B/B+

Overall Show Grade - B

Alright all,

Smackdown in the books, with a mystery no less.

Any predictions on who the mystery man is?

Couple of notes on this, I have both Mania title matches drawn up and both will be long form stories, not quite the level of Eisen but long form nonetheless.

As always, any feedback, criticism or opinions are welcome, positive or negative.

Cheers!
