Known gimmick, different wrestler

Recommended Posts

Did you guys assign a known gimmick to a different wrestler? For example, i've assigned the Ringmaster gimmick to Taz or Chris Benoit.

BTW, alternate versions of tag teams count as well. For example: Uncrewed's version of the Bodydonnas (Marcus Bagwell & Chris Candido)

I had Honky Tonk Man & Adrian Adonis team up as Rhythm & Blues in a 1987 game; unfortunately Adonis was signed away by JCP shortly after and I couldn't really do something with them.

One of my favourite repackaged teams was the team of Barry Windham & Bradshaw as The BPA, Blackjack Protection Agency. They had a nice run in my 1997 WWF game.

<p>I've gave known gimmicks to different wrestlers quite a few times like for example The Diamond Studd (Scott Hall) has had both the Cerebral Assassin & The Peoples Champion gimmick on my AWA save.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>EDIT:</strong> Not sure if this counts but I completely repackaged The Dungeon Of Doom too on my AWA save to make it less stupid and more serious but with the same goal of trying to chase the world title because my version is trying to dethrone Sting rather than trying to dethrone Hogan. The repackaged Dungeon Of Doom includes: Yugi Nagata, Meng, Diesel, The Cremator (WWE Kane) and The Giant with the managers of the stable being Paul Heyman, Lou Albano, Bobby Heenan and Slick so yeah the Dungeon Of Doom is definitely much more serious in AWA '95 compared to Dungeon Of Doom irl WCW '95 <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Absolutely. I am running a late 90's WWF fed, and I want to use the Goldust character....but I was unsuccessful in signing Dustin Rhodes from WCW when he was due to renew. So, in a search for similar Mic, Brawling and Charisma skills, I found Mike Rotundo was available. I made HIM Goldust and it's working out perfectly.

I absolutely cannot do this. Which is why I don't really play real world mods. I can only see the workers as the characters I know them as. With a game like the C-Verse I have very few preconceived notions so its not as bad, but real world mods I just can't.

<p>I just re-engineered 2 tag teams in this same vein of thought.</p><p> </p><p>

It's 1997 WWF, and I've teamed Raven & Sean Waltman (who I call Sean Cannon). Given they both do the 'grunge' gimmick in the same, I made THEM Degeneration X.</p><p> </p><p>

And since I dont have HHH or Road Dogg in my fed (couldnt sign them) I teamed Shawn Michaels with Kip James and called THEM the New Age Outlaws.</p><p> </p><p>

(that being said, I do NOT foresee the 2 teams coming together any time soon... <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> )</p>

All the time, especially in historical mods. I've gave Brian Kendrick the pastor gimmick that William Eaver (PROGRES) has. Pushed him quite hard when I split him and London via draft. Had him go straight into a program with Samoa Joe, who is essentially my most protected star. Had Kendrick go over at the PPV due to interface from a repacked Cage(was formally teaming with Devitt as PRIDE) who smacked Joe in the back of the head with a chain when he was locking in coquina clutch. Made him the first person to survive the hold aswell due to this. Promo on the show next week was him banging on about blacking out, praying to the gods and the gods delivered in his man, Cage(who is now playing the Deacon Batista/Ezekiel Jackson role). I can imagine Kendrick pulling this off well due to his jesus esq look.

<p>I think this thread has inspired me. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

After a back and forth bidding war, we failed to sign Mick Foley away from WCW. So we gave the Mankind gimmick to ... Gary Albright. He looks similar, but doesn't have have Mick's charisma, so we'll let Paul Bearer do all the talking...</p>

<p>Had Steve Austin get injured just before making him into Stone Cold. Was at a loss, couldn't surely have Stone Cold not lead the fight against WCW.</p><p> </p><p>

Recently had a wrestler with a lot of potential rise up to a toned Middleweight and was increasing in his brawling skills while working as a fun baby-face against a lot of my "tougher" heels.</p><p> </p><p>

So while Austin is sat in limbo, not sure where his career may head,</p><p> </p><p>

Stone Cold Steven Richards, on the other hand, may have ended up being WWF Champ by the end of the year if I had continued the game.</p><p> </p><p>

Had him come out one week and just beat a few guys up, turn on the fans, say their support got him nowhere and what would is beating up guys the way he was getting beat up.</p>

Just started a 1994 save game. I planned to end the Battle of the Undertakers storyline off-screen immediately, but Brian Lee isn't that bad in this mod and he is also one of my "next big things" according to the creative meeting, so now the story will co-headline SummerSlam (together with Bret vs. Owen) and my plan is to reveal The Underfaker as Taker's brother and after an Inferno match which Lee loses he will come back as Kane around 1995.

<p>My WCW game has seen the Dangerous Alliance forming, as they did in real life, in Autumn 1991 - but rather than Bobby Eaton being one of the members, it's Brian Pillman in this world.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm also building up Diamond Studd and Vinnie Vegas in my game towards their eventual Nash/Hall status... without their spending 3 years in the WWF first, preferably.</p><p> </p><p>

And Rick Rude is getting a gimmick similar to Bobby Roode's... although that seems pretty recursive, really.</p>

<p>I don't know if that counts but in my 1996 WCW game i copied the basic formation of the New World Order and how the group came together because I liked how that played out. Bash at the Beach came and on the day before the event i get a note that Hogan has injured himself during training. Unfortunatly he was not available for the PPV.</p><p> </p><p>

I had to make a choice to make: Delay the formation or swap Hogans place to somebody different? I choose the second option and came down to 2 individuals who could fit good in Hogans spot. Sting and Ric Flair. In my game, the probably most important stable in Pro Wrestling consisted of Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Ric Flair who betrayed the Horseman to form the nWo.</p>

Dunno if that all counts seeing as that's probably what most people would do in the situation where they don't know enough AWA info to run the promotion.</p>
