<p>I honestly thought the main event and the handicap match would be one and two with the tag match bringing in the rear.....had no idea strike force could pull such ratings in at this stage of their careers lol.</p><p> </p><p>

Good show all round though....my picks were way off lol</p>

As you can see, I have a mammoth gap between my main event and upper midcarders. I thought I'd list their average pop just to highlight that. Thanks to the patch that bumped the min. pop up, I could put almost anyone into the midcard with just a little work as there's almost no difference between my lower Midcarders and my Openers. I stopped at LMC with the pop as they're all literally the same. Do keep in mind that almost everyone in the midcard and up has still been gaining approx. 4-5 pop per month. Also, the 3 non-Flair Horsemen have lower avg. pop than their SE and MA pop shows by a ton, which was pre-set in the mod. They're all in the B+ to A- range in those two regions.</p><p> </p><p>

I also included that to help justify why I put the US title on Pillman. There just wasn't anyone else for Windham to fight once I decided Steamboat was going to win the 4-way, which I did way back fwiw. I'm still trying to get to Great American Bash before blowing off the Flair-Steamboat feud and basically all of my main event feuds, though I'm not sure how to do the World Tag one. Then, I'll be building to Starrcade, though having WW3 and Fall Brawl make that easy as that's 2 PPV's off, at least for singles matches anyway. So now Pillman can keep the US title down in the Upper Midcard while I move Windham into main event feuds as he's certainly proven worthy.</p><p> </p><p>

That's the only feud that ended this month as most of the others just started leaving me to figure out how to stretch them that one more month to July. I do want to thank both of you who commented on enjoying the diary. I'll be eyeing the view count to see if I pick up any readers. I was worried that the excellent 1980 mod would suck up all my time, but that dang pathetic pop gain feature in TEW16 has seriously annoyed me so I may be waiting for the official release to dive deep into it. Seriously, 0.1 per show is horrible.</p>

There is plenty of bickering and arguing as the group went 0-2-1 on the show including them now being title-less. Finally, Arn puts a stop to all the whining. "We're the Four Horsemen, bleep it! (hey, the censor does watch the show) You're the legendary Ric Flair. You're the 2nd generation legend, Tully Blanchard, and you're the 3rd generation blue-chipper Barry Windham. We're not the problem. There's one man that has been the thorn in our side since this group started, and it is no coincidence that he rushed back here right when we returned to full strength. They light into the official and WCW management for the DQ loss Sunday night claiming that Larry had nothing in his hand. It was a travesty of justice, and they demand that the cowards, The Rockin' Bees, come out here right now to give them a rematch in a Street Fight so there wouldn't be any DQ nonsense. Blair and Morton come through the curtain and stop. You certainly did cheat because you're a cheater, Larry. You've been that your whole career. So, you want a street fight where weapons are legal? Tony says that's Dustin Rhodes! All 4 men take turns beating the hell out of him yelling for Dusty to get his fat butt out here right now! They get a few more shots in before Dusty steps out. "You're beating down my son to get my attention? Have you all lost your minds?" They beat Dustin up a little bit more. Ric is channeling his demented Flair persona. "Dusty Rhodes, WOOOOO!!!, you left us no choice. You've been screwing us for 4 months now, and we're not going to take it anymore. Even sadder, before Dusty's new contract hits, I'm at $774k in salaries as the pay raise requests keep right on coming.</p><p> </p><p> The worst news though is that I'm wondering just how long it is going to be until WWF starts losing something in this National Battle. They're getting killed by 400 and have lost 0 pop from it which is weird and frustrating. They did get bumped to Late Night on their PPVs on Viewers Choice (US carrier). 4 regions are at 67 importance so just a little bit of loss in pop would drop them to Cult. Their PPV was called World Tour, but they held it in the Mid Atlantic. Hogan kept his streak of not wrestling on PPV as he and Millionaire Ted argued instead of wrestled. Main event was Undertaker defeating Mr. Perfect to retain the World title in an 83 rated match with the event getting a 78. At least I can take solace in the fact that they're barely turning a profit as they're only at $5.8 million after starting at $5 million.</p>

Well, sadly it looks like I can't do the Dusty match at SuperBrawl. I went in on the 1st of the month and lowered his contract down to 10 days (so I could have him wrestle a couple of matches to eliminate any potential ring rust), and evidently, that wasn't long enough for TEW as he just didn't sign any new contract (WWF obviously offered too). So, I'm going to have to reload my save and use the game recovery so I go back to the last day of the previous month (Sunday week 4) before I edited his contract.

I sent Adam a PM to see if he could help, but he's too busy to respond, which is understandable, since he had to put out a patch to fix his last one. I'll just have to write down what I booked for those Week 1 shows and re-book them. Don't think it is a bug, which is why I didn't post in the tech support forum as I seem to remember there being a min. length the contract needed to have left before the game just throws up its hands and does that no-signing with anyone thing. Evidently, those counter-offers being made with 4 or 5 days left is too short a time.

I'll just leave his contract alone and save the match for Great American Bash or likely, the PPV after that. Obviously, the write-up is going to be very, very basic for the shows. Likely just a results post and brief summary of the big angles. Hope you readers understand.

Edit: Since I have Lightning Express fans on here, you may be happy I re-loaded. Brad Armstrong for some reason decided to switch to Japanese Junior style, which the auto-booker hates for my fed and pushed him down to Opener (remember midcard to opener is barely any pop thanks to that min. pop addition a few patches ago). Maybe he won't switch this time?

They state that since everyone wants to injure them before their epic World Title match at SuperBrawl, they'll be at ringside for each others match tonight, including Sting defending that World Title against The Diamond Studd. We have each others back because that's what friends do! Sting does his howl as we go to the announcers. <strong>Rating: 100</strong></p><p> *</p><p> <strong>Lex Luger vs Octagon</strong></p><p> If Octagon is in the ring for the first match, it must be Thursday night. He gets put into the torture rack as the announcers talk about what we just heard and their two matches along with the Dangerous Alliance's feud with Savage and myself. <strong>Rating: 76</strong></p><p> *</p><p> The York Foundation are in their locker room, and all 4 of them (York, Taylor, Wallstreet, and Regal) taunt Steamboat ahead of Taylor's match with him tonight. Alexandra types furiously on the keyboard and then exclaims, "Yes! With this we have no chance of losing tonight!" The 3 wrestlers move to look at the laptop as we go to break. <strong>Rating: 86</strong></p><p> *</p><p> <strong>Ric Flair & Barry Windham vs La Parka & Ultimo Dragon</strong></p><p> The masked mexicans keep showing their tag chemistry, but they keep getting steamrolled. This match was no different. <strong>Rating: 78</strong></p><p> *</p><p> Randy Savage's music hits as the crowd cheers then stops as the camera shows it is clearly Rude imitating him. Piper's music hits as they cheer again, but it is Luger air-bagpiping in a kilt. No one wanted to see Paul E. in a dress so he stayed in the back. They get in the ring and start imitating Savage and Piper as the crowd boos. Rude does a decent Savage fwiw. After we let them get a few barbs in, we run down to the ring and chase them off. I add, "If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, we don't care because we're going to kick your butts in the cage come SuperBrawl. So keep laughing because you'll be eating through a straw soon." Savage snarled a bunch of stuff too. <strong>Rating: 100</strong></p><p> *</p><p> <strong>United States Tag Team</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><span>http://i.imgur.com/iWwQ8Nf.jpg</span></p><p><strong> The Rockin' Bees © w/Hayes vs Jason Anderson & El Dandy</strong></p><p> Blair and Morton hadn't wrestled since Slamboree so I just threw this squash match in there along with the US Tag Titles. They controlled the match. <strong>Rating: 79</strong></p><p> *</p><p> The announcers say that something is going on backstage. You hear a bunch of yelling as the cameraman rounds the corner. Vader and Koloff are pacing around like sumo wrestlers around the salt circle trying to come off as the bigger man in the fight, but as neither man is a bear, it doesn't work. They're just about ready to start fighting when both sides' come running over to pull their guy away. Really, it is more the managers saying to save it for SuperBrawl that does the trick. Jesse asks if we have another ring on stand-by because those two might wreck the first one. Tony adds that the refs have drawn lots and demanded hazard pay. <strong>Rating: 100</strong></p><p> *</p><p> <strong>Butch Reed w/Teddy Long vs Keith Hart</strong></p><p> Just a quick squash match so everyone could catch their breath/use the restroom before the two epic co-main events <strong>Rating: 67</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ricky Steamboat vs Terry Taylor w/Alexandra York</strong></p><p> This was an even match for the first 10 minutes as the announcers hype up Taylor's over decade worth of experience. York kept checking her laptop and liked what she was seeing. Steamboat starts to turn the tide of the match when Wallstreet and Regal come down to ringside. Sting meets them at the end of the ramp as they argue. No one sees Jimmy Garvin come from the other side of the arena. He slides into the ring and pops Steamboat a few times before Ricky realizes what is going on. Ricky fights back and sends Jimmy into Taylor which sends Garvin rolling out of the ring, and then he takes a minute to yell at Sting! Sting turns to see Garvin on the floor and then points to the two guys in front of him. Steamboat kicks out of the quick roll-up by Taylor, and then goes about finishing him off as York yells at her laptop. <strong>Rating: 93</strong></p><p> </p><p> We come back from commercial to the interview area where the Diamond Exchange are laughing by Lance. "You think you're so smart you two goody-goodies. There are 4 of us and only 2 of you. We'll do whatever we want, whenever we want, and you can't do a thing about it!" The Diamond Studd adds, "And now I'm going to take that World Title from you, face-painted man." <strong>Rating: 95</strong></p><p> *</p><p> The Main Event</p><p> <strong>World Heavyweight</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><span>http://i.imgur.com/XZpVtCk.jpg</span></p><p><strong> Sting © vs The Diamond Studd w/DDP</strong></p><p> True to his word, Steamboat came down to ringside after the two wrestlers made their entrances. Studd has spent most of his time fighting for the TV title, but he showed in this match that he might be ready to step it up a level. This was much more of a brawling match than the previous match that was more technical-focused. Sting can wrestle, but he's happier to punch people. They went back and forth as even the crowd started buying in that Studd could screw up that SuperBrawl match by winning, or the few smarks out there could be thinking I'd go for a 3-way to avoid the face vs face penalty. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> DDP interfered a couple times with minor things, but it was clean overall. That was until Hayes and Gordy came down to the ring. Ricky went over to stop them, but the wear and tear from the earlier match made him slow so he only stopped Gordy. With Studd faking an injury in the corner and DDP over there talking to the ref, Hayes slipped into the ring, but Sting was ready for him. Unfortunately, not for the chain wrapped around Michael's hand. Steamboat saw it and yelled, but Sting ate that fist, crumpling to the mat. Well, actually, it was to the floor mats which was there to save Sting from the loss. Steamboat came over and knocked the chain out of Hayes' hand while Gordy and DDP went around to try and roll Sting back into the ring. Studd is frantically waving for them to get him. 1...2...kickout!!!</p><p> Sting just barely kicked out as the building erupts. He starts "Stinging Up" as we don't mention that other name in WCW. Studd also shows his inexperience and starts panicking a little, taking wild swings that Sting ducks. Sting finally locks on the Scorpion Deathlock as Ricky plays crowd control on the outside. The big note from this is that Sting is yelling at Ricky after the match. <strong>Rating: 95</strong></p><p> *</p><p> We end the show with another Body Shop segment. This time it is with Strike Force and Arn & Tully, and unlike last week, this one was easily combustible. Ventura points out a couple of times that both sides were to refrain from fighting unless they wanted to be fined by WCW's Board. Even with that, I thought they were going to brawl. Instead, they go about skewering each other with the faces pointing out that the big, bad, Horsemen had to jump a kid 4-on-1 because they aren't winning any more. Even Jesse agreed with Tito on that. Arn & Tully said that beating up Rhodes is a Horsemen tradition, and it felt great to do it again. They're not apologizing for anything, and they're not going to apologizing for beating you two all over the arena at SuperBrawl. No 10 count is going to save you then, and those titles will be back with the best tag team in the world. <strong>Rating: 100</strong></p><p> *</p><p> <strong><span style="font-size:18px;">WCW Saturday Night</span></strong></p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/FJoZtsa.jpg</span></p><p> May Week 2 Generic Great Lakes 15,000</p><p> <strong>Rating: 89 A</strong> 4.37 TV (-0.05)</p><p> Announcers: Jim Ross, Jesse Ventura, Tony "No Mustache" Schiavone</p><p> *</p><p> We go back to Thursday Thunder after the show ended. Sting and Steamboat are at the top of the ramp Lance comes out there with a mic. Sting points to his head which is cut and bleeding slightly asking why that happened. Ricky says that he's one man, and maybe if he hadn't been jumped by Garvin in his match which Sting didn't prevent, he could have gotten to Hayes in time. Sting fires back that at least he stopped 2 men in Ricky's match, but maybe what they said about Steamboat being past his prime is true which was why he could only handle one man. Ricky says that that's fine because the only man I have to worry about beating is you, and I'm focusing 100% on doing that in 8 days at SuperBrawl. You can watch your own back, champ. For now. <strong>Rating: 100</strong></p><p> *</p><p> <strong>Dean Malenko vs Jobber</strong></p><p> Hired a jobber for Malenko to squash to continue his build up. Rating: 65</p><p> We go back to Dusty's office where Flair barges in. "Dusty, you're telling me who I'm facing at SuperBrawl, or I'll drag your fat behind out to that ring and break your leg again! You benched me for one PPV already, and that's something that is never happening again! WOOOO!!!" Dusty just gives him a stone face. "If you do that, I'll sue you and take Space Mountain, every Rolex watch, limousine, and jet plane you own. The paperwork on your opponent is in the process of being signed this weekend. The only thing I will tell you is that this man is on par with you, and he begged me to pick him over the large number of people that called me looking to beat you to a pulp for what you did to Dustin. You'll have your match at SuperBrawl, and I hope the man I sign beats the holy hell out of you like he swore he would. Now get OUT!!! <strong>Rating: 100</strong></p><p> *</p><p> <strong>Shinobi & Bob Holly vs Scott Armstrong & El Dandy</strong> </p><p> Simple tag team squash match as Holly gets the pin on Scott <strong>Rating: 65</strong></p><p> *</p><p> Strike Force taunt Arn & Tully again before their match. Break a leg you two. <strong>Rating: 88</strong></p><p> *</p><p> <strong>Arn & Tully vs The Juicer and Bill DeMott</strong></p><p> Whether it was due to those taunts or their excellence as a tag team, somehow this match took home match of the night. It only went 16 minutes too. Who knew? I doubt those two guys are going to ever be in that high-rated a match again. It stayed clean, and the heels finally put away the plucky upstarts. <strong>Rating: 89</strong></p><p> *</p><p> We go back to Dusty's office where Missy, Owen, and Nikita are there requesting a tag team match between them and their SuperBrawl opponents, Vader and Eaton. Dusty says that's a wonderful idea. Have a great one out there, Nikita as Dusty high-fives him. <strong>Rating: 81</strong></p><p> We go to another part of backstage instead of wrestler entrances. The Fantastics are brawling with Landel and Del Ray so clearly no one is going to be interfering in the match which was the point of the angle. <strong>Rating: 58</strong></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Nikita Koloff & Owen Hart w/Missy Hyatt vs Big Van Vader & Bobby Eaton</strong></p><p> Clearly, I had higher hopes for this match than it delivered. Whether it was due to running it in GL instead of our main two areas or just that Owen's pop is barely in the 50's, it wasn't the usual semi-main quality WCW produces. It was still a fine match. We kept the two big guys away from each other for the most part which meant the 2 smaller men ate a lot of power moves from their opponent big man. Finally, it all broke down when Eaton tagged in Vader, and he and Nikita went at it. The ref didn't even bother to try and break up the brawl and just let the two men go at it. Eventually, it end up on the floor, and despite Missy and Cornette pleading, the count reached 10 for a Double Count Out finish. <strong>Rating: 79</strong></p><p> *</p><p> Barry Windham stops by the interview area with Lance. He says that it is about time he gets to main event a WCW show by himself. He warns Hector Guerrero that he's made a huge mistake in agreeing to this match. This is my time to shine, and no one is going to stop that. And Dustin Rhodes, that is going to happen to you at SuperBrawl, except it will be 10x worse. <strong>Rating: 100</strong></p><p> </p><p> The Main Event</p><p> <strong>Barry Windham vs Hector Guerrero</strong></p><p> Sigh, Barry, this is not going to help you get more main event solo matches. I have to chalk this one up to being in GL because there's literally no other excuse. No bad chemistry, no lack of psych or selling either. It was midcard quality, plain and simple. We even put up a graphic reminding viewers to stay tuned for the Body Shop with myself and Savage and Rude and Luger lest they turn off the show. Nothing really happened as it was a clean match. Just oof. Time to just run our main 3 areas I guess. <strong>Rating: 83</strong></p><p> *</p><p> Hey, the Body Shop segments have been working so we're going to keep churning them out. Not to mention that it gets everyone on the show in one spot. Anyway, this was another combustible segment. I added that this clearly wasn't Piper's Pit which started off the chain of taunts between the 4 of us. Ventura stepped in and said that instead of a fine, the match would be canceled and the 4 of you could watch SuperBrawl on PPV at home. That kept it from devolving any further, and the rest of the segment was pretty tame. <strong>Rating: 100</strong></p><p> **</p><p> *</p><p> <span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>WCW Main Event</strong></span></p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/hX17CvH.jpg</span></p><p> Recorded before Sat. El Dandy switched to a regular wrestler which bumped him up from ET to lower midcard, and now I get to push the hell out of him like I've wanted to for awhile. His stats are too good to be jobber fodder. Not going to get him above midcard, but I'll see if a tag team is possible. He's got one with Jericho pre-set in the game, but I've still got to salvage his psych from that Basics=Psych slowing psych growth down issue. Plus, I have Lance Storm down there for that reason already.</p><p> </p><p> SuperBrawl is shaping up to be a massive show so I've extended it to 4 hours from my usual 3.5. That's due to the 16 minute match length restriction, and yes, my penchant for having a huge roster.</p>

<p>So sorry, but this is going to get another short write-up. I've had all kinds of things go on this week irl, and I've just gotten the chance to run both Saturday shows. So, as you can see, I haven't touched the game much at all this week due to a severe lack of time. Hopefully, that will change next week, and I can churn out SuperBrawl easily. College and NFL starting back up have cut into my time.</p><p> </p><p>

One note: Don Owen announced he was retiring from the business in a month so I went ahead and bought out PNW and shut it down. They only had 3 wrestlers I cared about, and the last thing I need is more wrestlers on my roster. Given Piper's real life history with Don Owen and the fact that they'd been broke for several months, I just thought it the right time to do it. It was just under $100k so I didn't care.</p><p> </p><p>

Oh, but I did sign someone whose contract came up. He's out for several more months with a back injury (in-game not pre-set). He's just too good to pass up, and I think he'll fit in nicely.</p><p> </p><p>

Flair starts the show in the ring calling out Dusty to find out who he's facing tomorrow night. He says Dusty is all bluster, and that he had to dig up one of his old fossil friends. Dusty laughs that this person might be old, but he's not a fossil yet. <strong>Terry Funk</strong> has slid into the ring behind Flair as the crowd roars (probably warning since it is Greensboro). "Hello Flair!" Ric does the mortified slow-turn, and gets a "Boo!" right in his face. Flair tries to find an escape route, but Funk starts brawling with him first. Basically every non-jobber/non-main eventer that didn't have a match for SuperBrawl is in the match. <p>For the 5 or so readers I had on this diary, you would have guessed what I'd be saying right now. I'm going to end it. I haven't had a lot of time to even begin to write the show up, and I haven't even wanted to open TEW. From Adam posting several times that we're not playing the game "correctly" to me trying the 1980 mod that I was uber-hyped for and realizing that TEW16 isn't conducive to me enjoying the mod like 13 was for his 1983 mod to me commenting that and ticking off one of the few longtime people on the board that didn't already hate me to practically nobody reading the diary and several other games I'd rather watch people play on YT than open TEW along with the new TV season starting, I just don't see a point in me continuing the diary. If you want to read a 1991 diary, there are two that have started recently so follow them.</p><p> </p><p>

This is, I think, my 5th or 6th diary on here and my last until they change how the forum is set up because it is severely flawed. You have to run a prediction contest to get comments and views, and even then, your views are skewed by bots coming by upping your view count. As someone who doesn't like prediction contests, that pretty much cripples my diary from the start. I started my diary specifically because of the Photobucket mess because I naively thought that since there were fewer diaries, mine may get read. Oops... </p><p> </p><p>

And I do want to add that I'm well aware of the "flaws" of my diary as I've been told repeatedly before that you shouldn't sign a huge roster, have a ton of big names, and have really great shows as it renders them meaningless. I get that, and if I'd known that Savage was coming up so early, I would have used Steamboat instead of Piper. I'll never change the other stuff, and couldn't really do the last one even if I tried as equal feds tend to do that not to mention that I was trying to get to National and squash WWF.</p><p> </p><p>

Thank you, everyone, that read this. I hope you got some enjoyment from it. I'm going to give you my long-term plan for the rest of 1991 after the show post.</p><p> </p><p>

SuperBrawl I</p><p>

51,000 Sell-Out Mid-Atlantic Region (Solely due to Funk's pop being gutted by USWA in SE)</p><p>

Rating: 100 A* PPV Buyrate: 0.43/0.33 TV rating</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>TV Title: Bobby Eaton © vs Owen Hart</strong></p><p>

Eaton retains the title via Intentional DQ when Cornette came in a waffled Owen when he had Bobby in a sharpshooter. Steal the Show note Rating: 80 B</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>US Hwy Title: Brian Pillman © vs Terry Gordy</strong></p><p>

Pillman fought with Hayes when the ref was knocked down, and Gordy looked like he was going to win. Except DDP wanted to get in on the fun, and Pillman ducked a shot from him that nailed Gordy, knocking him out. This was to set up DDP going down to development to become a wrestler when his contract is up along with the end of the Freebirds as I'm getting rid of Garvin and replacing him with Dr. Death so the Miracle Violence Connection is the heel tag team managed by Hayes since he's on time decline. Slow Build Rating: 94 A (and lack of selling note)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nikita Koloff vs Big Van Vader</strong></p><p>

We sold this as two monsters beating the hell out of each other. The ref wouldn't go in the ring except to count the pin, but he would still count for break-ups. That lasted for a little while, but then both managers got involved and rules kept getting broken. Finally, the ref just had enough and called for a Double DQ before sprinting to the back. This was going to set up me bringing in an enforcer (not Arn) to be the ref for the payoff match in a cage next month. Both men brawled to the back barely even noticing the match was over. Wild Brawl Rating: 80 B (anyone shocked by lack of selling note?)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Cage Classic: Roddy Piper & Randy Savage vs Rick Rude & Lex Luger</strong></p><p>

Both teams were out for blood, and it flowed a lot during the match. Thanks to the cage, Paul E. couldn't do a whole lot but yell, and Elizabeth got left in the back for her own safety since Randy couldn't protect her from Paul E. Rude came armed with a chain though, and I ate a few punches before crumpling to the mat. The mistake came when he went to toss it to Luger. Savage intercepted it and had the most sadistic look on his face as he wrapped it around his fist. Rude charged and ate it first, getting knocked out. Then, Randy chased Luger around the ring (remember no escaping just pinfall or submission). When he caught Lex, the announcers even said, "You might want to take your children out of the room right now." The ref came to, and you couldn't even see the chain as it was covered in blood. Slow Build Rating: 94 A (lack of psych)<img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Texas Death Match: Terry Funk vs Ric Flair</strong></p><p>

We'd run some clips of their previous matches (because last year plus is so long ago <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />) while he and Dusty taunted Flair. Ric cut a standard Flair promo. The announcers talked up Funk's chances since submissions wouldn't win the match (pinfall then 10 count), but come on, it is Flair against someone not on my roster. Funk gave it all he had <strong>which turned out to be a ton</strong>, and we didn't even have to mention to Flair to bleed a little since he loves to do that. Flair got the only pinfall in the match, and Funk couldn't get up before the 10 count. Slow Build Rating: 97 A Funk 84 Flair 96 performances</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dustin Rhodes w/Dusty vs Barry Windham</strong></p><p>

You could tell Dustin was a little bit nervous about being on this big a stage, and he had been all month. Barry took him through the match really well though, and it turned out they had great chemistry. We had it setup as Barry would come out and dominate early, then get cocky, and Dustin would come roaring back. Only to have Flair slide into the ring and chop block him while Barry is distracting the ref. Dusty didn't even stay to tell the ref to call for the DQ since he's the commish and all. He went lumbering after Flair leaving Windham to get the victory. Slow Build (16 min) Rating: 85 B+</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>US Tag Team Title No DQ: The Rockin' Bees © vs Larry Z & Butch Reed</strong></p><p>

This was continuing their feud from last month with the heels getting the no DQ stip added. We didn't turn it into a hardcore match because it's 1991, not 1998. It was mainly the heels cheating a lot, and the faces were in peril most of the match. They finally started building momentum after a chair shot by Blair on Reed. As the momentum built, the heels started panicking a little, and Teddy Long started getting involved. He grabbed a chair and swung...and hit Larry Z on accident. Blair stood watch was Morton crawled over to get the pinfall. Slow Build (16 Min) Rating: 87 B+</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>World Tag Team Titles Fall Count Anywhere: Strike Force © vs Arn & Tully</strong></p><p>

The top two tag teams in the world fought all over the building, but Flair's earlier interference caused the Horsemen to lose their advantage as Dusty ordered Flair and Windham to be locked in his office. So, it would be a straightforward tag team match that just happened to have no rules. Again, minimal weapon usage, as we still focused on just how good both teams are at wrestling. The fight was just as even as last month's, and we added in a few times where the ref couldn't get over quick enough to count the pin, frustrating both teams. We made sure the camera caught Tully yelling that there should be two refs out here, just more Dusty screwing the Horsemen. There would be someone else coming out, but he wasn't a ref. Terry Funk came out brandishing a chair and leveled Tully and Arn then told Rick and Tito to cover them or else! Nobody defies an order from a chair-wielding Terry Funk so Strike Force retain their tag titles. Slow Build Rating: 99 A* Strike Force 79 Tully 95 <strong>Arn 100!!!</strong> (Strike Force don't like Brawl-based matches)</p><p> </p><p>

Sting had his spectacular entrance before the match</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>World Heavyweight Title: Sting © vs Ricky Steamboat</strong></p><p>

After having an entire show without a clean finish granted several were perfectly legal due to no DQ rules, we kept this one just a straightforward match. Nobody interfering, plain wrestling rules, and great wrestling to send the crowd home relatively happy. I did have to truncate the match a little to 21 minutes instead of the 30 I wanted it to go due to having too many matches for even a 4-hour show. The face vs face match-up did drag the match down a little, but they put on a classic. I wouldn't have minded Steamboat having a run with the World title, but I have other plans. He might have gotten one down the road depending on when his time decline hit, but now wasn't the time as we're selling a 1-year title reign for Great American Bash '91 so Sting won with a pinfall. Slow Build Rating: 96 A Sting 98 Steamboat 95 since you're curious.</p><p> </p><p>

I praised Arn, obviously, Tito, and Luger who had an 87 rating in the cage match and ate the chain shots to close the match.</p><p> </p><p>

The only other interest of note was that Windham came in pre-show way more ripped than he was on Jan. He is now rated as a Muscular Light Heavyweight, and his Star Quality jumped from 70 to 81. I told him that he looked good, but that he didn't need to do that. I don't need a Horseman on steroids.<img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Okay, here were my long-term plans.</p><p> </p><p>

Sting was going to lose the World Title to Rude at Road Wild/Clash of Champions not sure what I was going to go with. Rude was going to defeat me at GAB to hopefully get his pop up high enough so Sting would drop the title since his Figurehead status would be in full effect at that point. Savage would finish off Luger and start feuding with the Horsemen in that lead-up to Starrcade where he would defeat Rude for the World Title.</p><p> </p><p>

I would bring in Nick Bockwinkel to become the new Commissioner for WCW due to the Horsemen "being treated unfairly" while Dusty went back to wrestling for a little while, mainly tagging with Dustin against the Horsemen. Ideally, Dusty vs Flair would be my "historic" Starrcade match ala Taker during the last decade of his streak. Arn & Tully were going to win the World tag titles next month to feud with the Rhodes and then the Rock N' Roll Express as Blair was going to get injured, dropping the US Tag Titles.</p><p> </p><p>

The Missy Hyatt vs Camp Cornette was going to rage until Fall Brawl where I was going to have several of those matches as a much-edgier Survivor Series. That's why I was breaking everyone into 4-man groups. At that point, Vader was going to go fight Pillman for the US title. Oh, and Sting was going to be busy with my mystery signing, The Great Muta once he recovered from his back injury, which just got reduced to 33 days (was 4 months, man that's the most reduction in time I've ever gotten, I think) with a successful surgery. So he is going to have some fun first.</p><p> </p><p>

Other than a few call-ups, that was how the main stuff was going to go. There weren't going to be too many more signings. Maybe Pritchard and Stan Lane. The only 2 WWF guys I would have signed were Mr. Perfect and Bret Hart. No idea when their contracts come up.</p><p> </p><p>

Thanks again for reading this diary.</p>

<p>Sorry to see it end. A nice write up and some well thought out plans.</p><p> </p><p>

Personally I wish the forum showed number of subscribed followers as that's perhaps more meaningful than views.</p><p> </p><p>

Maybe see you back in the future with another diary</p>
