Possible Fictional Mod for WMMA5 Release

Recommended Posts

So, back when WMMA4 came out, I played the CVerse data religiously. I love the CVerse in both games and always play it, but after awhile, I decided I wanted to take a break to create my own mod, just for personal games. I've been on and off updating it since then and although it's not got much in it right now, I could prioritise it and maybe make a new fictional mod for people to play once the new game comes out. Of course it would only be a beta (Maybe only Japan and America been done) but I'm asking here would people be interested in that? I'm not going to prioritise a project without it having some interest so below I will tell you what I can give you and what I can't with a mod like this.

What I can give you:

A new verse with new fighters, workers, companies and stories.

A larger variety of companies that'll range from your usual MMA companies to completely unregulated, unorganised bar room brawls that happen take place in a ring.

A more difficult verse with no TV/PPV exposure until high pop levels are reached.

New storylines with new and differing fighters.

An in-depth universe with fight histories completely up to date and event histories fully filled in using the single fight feature as a way to get the results.

What I can not give you:

Renders and pictures of characters. I don't have the software or time to complete that.

A fully completed verse for release. It's nowhere near that level of finished, but it could get to that level eventually.

If needed I can give a few company names and histories to get you interested. As well as a few fighters to show you the kind of fighters I have. Feel free to leave any comments you have here about the mod.

Honestly, I would have no problem in keeping this as a personal mod as I do think the renders and pictures create better immersion but I'll release a beta if people want me to.

I'm sure people will be interested if you make it so it can be imported into any fictional game (so get the debut dates right).

A renderless universe has got to have a lot of appeal though, as the game allows you to make believable though renderless characters at the pressing of a couple of buttons.

What I'm getting from the comments so far is that people are interested but are worried about no renders. I don't really know if I could use C-Verse picture for it. I wouldn't mind it, but I don't really know. I would like my own picture pack and such, but I really don't know. Any feedback is welcome and appreciated.

HECK YEAH I'm excited. Why aren't people more pumped up for this? About the renders, I am like the others that would like renders, but I think I have a good solution. Why don't you use real life mma fighter picks for the fighters?

That seems to be a very murky area. I have read in the past where Adam has said anything in the default game can be used in mods. However, I have also read where he said that you have to ask permission from the people who have made the renders. Which is kind of hard to do seeing as most of us would probably have no clue who made what render. That is unless they have a very distinct style.

I would say that if you want to go that way with the renders (using default renders), just ask Adam first so that you have a clear answer one way or the other.

I have always wanted to do a fictional mod that was like the Dawn of MMA mod. Where you start at the beginning of MMA and start with one company. I did manage to create about fifty fighters (I say about because I did it for WMMA3 and it was so long ago I cannot remember the exact number) before I gave up. I just always thought it would be cool to see a fictional universe from the start.

Okay quick update. I am on holidays right now so just a quick decision I guess. I am going to continue to make the mod. No renders. If it gets to a point where I can possibly release a beta for WMMA5 release I will certainly do so. If not, then it will stay unreleased.

If it ever becomes an inconvenience for me, I will more than likely stop the project but will immediately let you guys know in this thread. If I finish a region quicker than I think I may open a hype thread.
