<p>Latest News from around the World</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Latest News from around the World</strong></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The filming of season 2 of Thunder In Paradise will start in March 1995</strong>, this means that superstar Hulk Hogan won’t be available full-time for WCW until September. Right now WCW is pretty much entirely dependent on having Hulk Hogan around since he is the figurehead of the promotion and current WCW World Heavyweight champion. This puts Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in a position of trying to build their promotion around a wrestler who doesn’t see wrestling as his No 1 priority anymore.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW have expansion in mind</strong>! The popular promotion have recently grown to even greater proportions, and it is heavily rumoured that they are about to splash out and bring in some brand new talent to consolidate their position. There are also reports that they have several new target markets that they will be aggressively looking to break into and to continue grow in emerging markets; Japan, Germany and Scandinavia.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The friendship between Nikita Koloff and Rick rude looks to be over</strong>. Friends of the two have reported as saying that while they are far from enemies, the friendship has totally eroded, and they are going their separate ways.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Warrior returns to wrestling</strong>! It was confirmed last night that AJPW, about to embark on a new tour, have completed the signing of The Warrior. He will be joining them for the entire span of the tour, as AJPW hope the fresh faces will help draw more fans.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SMW diva Tammy Sytch</strong> has been appearing regularly on the WWF Radio show.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Curt Hennig did an interview and said he won’t be returning to WWF</strong>, because WWF mogul Vince McMahon won’t meet the price Hennig wants to return. Hennig is in a good financial position and said he’d be glad to wrestle if Vince pays him what he’s asking. It’s well-known that Ric Flair specifically want Hennig to come to WCW, but he’s under contract with WWF until November. There are strong rumours of Hennig going on tour with either All Japan or New Japan.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>With the trial wrapped up, Vince McMahon now has to decide the future direction of WWF</strong>. Do they go back to pushing steroid monsters now that the legal threat is gone? Or stick with normal-sized, quality performers like Bret Hart, Owen Hart and Shawn Michaels to carry the company?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>According to sources within the WCW locker room Dusty Rhodes seems to be clique building in WCW</strong>, having forged an alliance between Johnny B. Badd and Jerry Sags.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sportswriter Phil Mushnick published another article in the New York Post</strong>, ripping on Ted Turner and WCW for signing Hulk Hogan, saying that Hulk’s entire legacy is built on steroids.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Pro Wrestling America saw a title change last night</strong>, as the previously vacant PWA Heavyweight Championship was won by Shane Douglas. This victory marks his first reign with the title. Independent wrestling star Shane Douglas currently works for ECW, PWA and IWCCW.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>AAA and WCW engaged in some business last night</strong>, with “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair being loaned out to AAA for a one-shot appearance on an upcoming show.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>It has been confirmed that Sting will be making a special one-off appearance on an upcoming AAA show</strong> after a loan was agreed with his current employers, WCW. More news as we get it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In SMW, there were plans for Tammy Sytch to be the manager for the Gangstas</strong>, Jim Cornette’s idea being that a sexy white woman with black gangstas would get heel heat. But the popular diva Tammy Sytch refused to do it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mike Awesome appears to be living up to his reputation</strong>, as inside sources say that he is very carefully forming political alliances within ECW. He is renowned among other workers as a master of company politics.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Canadian Vampiro Casanova’s band called El Teatro de la Vampiros (“Vampire Theater”)</strong> has a concert scheduled in Los Angeles later this month.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>2 Cold Scorpio began his first reign as ECW World Television champion last night</strong>, when he took the title away from Dean Malenko during the latest episode of ECW Hardcore TV. Disappointingly, Dean Malenko didn’t manage a single successful title defence prior to this defeat. During the same TV episode, Double Top (Shane Douglas and Mr. Hughes) won the ECW World Tag Team titles, when they defeated Public Enemy. Public Enemy managed seven successful defences prior to this defeat.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dean Malenko is reported to have sustained a Broken Nose</strong> while wrestling last night. Initial reports are sketchy, but it is believed that he will not be taking time off, but will work through the pain.</p>

His other partners were associates and strength in numbers. Dustin Rhodes was just a means to getting back into the thick of things, basically; Arn was kind of stuck in the mid-card, no real direction. Though he is in his way a loner, Anderson is not a solo artist. Though the relationships may not mean much to him beyond money and backup, “Double A” likes to run in a pack. Always had, always would. So though the Four Horsemen are inactive; Col. Parker has a good thing going with Terry Funk, Bunkhouse Buck, Dick Slater and Meng; guys who are together out of convenience more than anything else. “Double A” fits the group like a glove. It’s a collective of hired guns and Dustin Rhodes is a idiot for asking the man who made his name as the “Enforcer of wrestling’s greatest gang to pal around with him, slapping hands against guys who so clearly are cut from the same cloth as Arn Anderson.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:8px;">Rating: 100 A*</span></p><p></p></div></div><div></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Frankie Lancaster vs. Scott Norton</strong></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="Le5mSAg.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Le5mSAg.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><span>http://i.imgur.com/45vggNh.gif</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/6iUVwNS.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> In a terrible match, powerhouse Scott Norton defeated legendary underdog Frankie “The Thumper” Lancaster in 4:38 by pinfall with a Release Powerbomb.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:8px;">Rating: 56 C-</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="44008" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Highlights of the feud between The Guardian Angel vs. Vader</strong></p></div><p> </p><p> <span>http://i.imgur.com/k2bf6I2.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/45vggNh.gif</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/3F928Zc.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/D8uVN9z.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> The Guardian Angel tries attacking Harley Race, but Vader drives him out of the ring and keeps him at bay. Angel finally storms the ring and they have a terrific hard-hitting slugfest. Vader catches Angel off the top with a Press Slam and takes over, and does so for a few minutes. Angel is a babyface in peril. During a corner attack, Angel suddenly gets a second wind and fights back. The two powerhouses get in an an amazing punching battle that leads them to their knees where they continue. Vader eventually wins, and as Angel falls back, Harley chokes him with the top rope. Angel splashes Vader in the corner and keeps him out of it for a minute, suplexing Harley Race in, but accidentally taking the referee out. Angel hits Harley with the Sidewalk slam and both are down. It ended up breaking down because Pillman would just storm in and brawl, trying to nail his former tag team partner Austin. </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Latest News from around the World</strong></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>We have confirmed that Terri Runnels and Dustin Rhodes had a “quickie” divorce</strong> completed yesterday after it was discovered that Terri Runnels was having an affair with indie wrestler Simon Diamond, a scandal that was discovered by Dustin Rhodes by accident.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Jimmy Hart has been teasing a “Big Surprise” for the Clash</strong> and even said on the WCW Hotline it would be an “Ultimate Surprise”, which naturally has people talking.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Jerry Sags is reported to have sustained Broken Ribs</strong> while wrestling at last night’s WCW Saturday Night show. Initial reports are sketchy, but it is believed that he will not be taking time off, but will work through the pain which most likely means that the current WCW booking plan stays intact.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Road Warrior Hawk plead guilty to 5th degree assault</strong> for an incident earlier this year and received a 90 day suspended sentence. Hawk was involved in a fight at a theater in Minneapolis back in March that was caught on security cameras. As long as Hawk doesn’t commit anymore crimes for the next 2 years, he won’t do any jail time unless he starts and loses a feud with the Big Boss Man.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Gary Albright put on an impressive performance last night</strong>, outlasting seven other competitors to claim victory in the annual UWFi Best Of The World tournament. His three victories against; Nobuhiko Takada; Yoji Anjo; and Bad News Allen that evening led him to win the tournament for the first time.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Jim Cornette is in the center of some controversy this week for “explosive phone calls” he made to both Wade Keller and Bruce Mitchell of the Pro Wrestling Torch newsletter</strong>. Cornette was furious with both over articles they had written about the status of SMW and in the phone calls, he made physical threats against both of them. The articles were criticisms over the controversial Gangstas characters and the bait-and-switch of Ricky Morton not getting his head shaved as advertised.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Wrestler Chris Adams has been promoting indie shows in Texas</strong>. Recently, he left for a few weeks to go wrestle in Japan. While he was gone, someone took his wrestling ring and sold it for $350 bucks. When Adams returned, he went to the person who bought the ring and said that the person who sold it to him had no right to do so and he wanted it back. The guy refused. Then that guy sold it to a 3rd person. So Adams went to court and got a court order against both men and for now, he’s awaiting the return of his wrestling ring. Apparently Steve Austin thought that this was hilarious as he spontaneously made a freestyle parody of this backstage at the latest WCW Saturday Night taping.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In Tallahassee, FL (where Ron Simmons was a college football star) there were rumors that Simmons had died</strong>. The rumors got so big that all of the local media outlets in the area were working on stories about it until they found out it was a hoax. They had even gotten Simmons’ college football coach Bobby Bowden to film a TV interview about how sad he was to learn that Simmons had passed away.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>New Jack and Perry Saturn are apparently “at war”</strong> according to inside sources, with a bitter hatred developing between the two. It is said that it is simply a clash of egos, and some have said that this battle can only end with one taking a major fall from grace.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>AAA will have a PPV airing in America in November that will be produced by WCW’s technical staff</strong>. It will likely be held in Los Angeles, since the plan is to market the PPV to the Hispanic audience in America, but also run clips promoting it on WCW TV to help get the Mexican stars over to American audiences in hope of building a future relationship there. AAA needs help to break into America, and WCW has the infrastructure to assist. AAA has a product that most Americans haven’t seen and WCW wants to capitalize on that and if Eric Bischoff can build this relationship and get Lucha Libre over in the United States and in WCW, it would be a huge win for him offering something unique that WWF don’t have. AAA is also in talks to try to put together an English-language version one-hour show to air in syndication in America. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Charles Wright is expected to return to WWF soon</strong>, but it will be under a new name and gimmick instead of “Papa Shango”. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The rumour mill is indicating that referee Earl Hebner is set to sign a contract extension to stay with WWF</strong> within the next two weeks. There had been heavy rumours that he was going to be allowed to leave, but the current feeling is that this was false, and he will be kept.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Machines (Koko B. Ware and Eddie Gilbert) began their first reign as USWA World Tag Team champions</strong> last night at USWA For The Ages, when they took the titles away from JC Ice and Wolfie D.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>At an ECW show, Terry Funk & Cactus Jack teamed up against Public Enemy</strong> and once again, Terry Funk called for a chair and the fans threw tons of them in the ring. Tod Gordon was furious at Funk for inciting the fans to throw the chairs due to the potential injury risks. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>UWA business is doing terrible</strong> and at this point, a lot of the media is openly speculating about where UWA’s top stars like Canek and Gran Hamada will end up when the promotion folds. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>According to inside sources, Rex King has recently begun dating Debbie Combs</strong>. The new relationship, which they had been trying to keep secret, has since become a hot topic in wrestling locker rooms around the country.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hulk Hogan is rumored to be close to signing a deal to star in a sequel of the movie Delta Force</strong>, called Delta Force 4: Eye of the Hurricane. Hogan is lobbying for Ed Leslie, Jeep Swenson, Tiny Lister and El Gigante to receive minor roles.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Speaking of El Gigante</strong>, the big man has recently been seen backstage during WCW Saturday Night tapings looking for work.</p>

Bunkhouse Buck nails him with a cowbell and the trio begin to beat the crap out of him.</p><p> </p><p> Meanwhile Meng gets in the ring and he dares Dusty to take a shot at him. Dusty decides it’s best to leave…and grab a wooden chair. Dusty busts the chair over Meng’s head, but that has no effect. Yikes! Meng kicks Dusty down with a stiff Savate Kick and applies a Nerve Hold! The Nerve Hold left Dusty in a twitching puddle of jelly. Jobber Frankie “The Thumper” Lancaster dressed in regular clothes comes to Dusty’s aid, but Meng dispatches him. The Stud Stable are loudly booed by the fans.</p><p> </p><p> Col. Parker struts around like a rooster in a hen house puffing his cigar, with a big grin on his face. Various wrestlers from backstage tried to pull Meng off of Dusty and felt Meng’s wrath as a result, and nobody could stop Meng until Col. Parker himself got Meng to release Dusty.</p><p> </p><p> The Stud Stable finally leaves, so that The Rhodes can get medical treatment.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:8px;">Rating: 95 A*</span></p><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <em>Heenan is very pleased. <p>Really great Clash, the twist at the end took me by complete surprise! But I suppose it shouldn't have, given those involved. Two new champions means a lot of things are changing, and I like that. Can't wait to see what comes from this, but I am glad to see Evad gone. You won't have to push him at all, and that's just wonderful. Never understood why they gave him the "Hulkamaniac" gimmick, they could have put that on someone way better.</p><p> </p><p>

But the mystery man remains.... because it couldn't be Jimmy, since he was out in front with Hogan. Who is this masked man?!?</p>

But the mystery man remains.... because it couldn't be Jimmy, since he was out in front with Hogan. Who is this masked man?!?

Jimmy Hart with his untreatable "Chronic Backstabbing Disorder". There will be several reasons for his betrayal. One for the on-screen storylines and one behind the curtains; both reason will get clearer in the next weeks in the news segments and tv shows.

Yeah the mysterious Masked Assailant, the expectations in WCW is very high that his feud with Hogan with culminate in a high scoring Dream Match. :D

Hulk Hogan © w/ Jimmy Hart vs. Ric Flair w/ Elizabeth

“The Nature Boy” Ric Flair grabs the microphone: “Bring me the title now!”

“The Immortal” Hulk Hogan does his entrance doing a fantastic sell job limping, that is until he gets into the ring and lunges at Flair and beats him down to the mat. Hogan is limping, but chases Flair around the ring with the Championship belt, looking for a chance to use the belt as a weapon.

Heenan complain over Hulk’s actions.

The match finally begin and Flair goes for the bad knee. Hogan kicks away the Figure-Four, so Flair goes to work on the knee some more. Now it’s Figure-Four time again. Hogan sells and then powers out. He continues to limp around while Flair kicks him in his bad knee until he points the finger.

Hulk-Up Time!

“Damn it!” Heenan exclaims.

Hogan hits the Big Boot and Legdrop, but his knee gives out. No cover and Flair wakes up and grabs the Figure-Four again until Hogan reverses the hold. Crowd’s hot and the match has a ton of energy.

Flair does tremendous spots with Hogan’s leg and just absolutely tears at it. He drags Hogan around the outside of the ring by his leg and starts unraveling the gauze causing Hogan to hop around on one leg.

Hulk Hogan looks to the right. Hulk Hogan looks to the left.

The Hulkamaniacs start to cheer.

It’s Hulk Up Time Again!

“Damn it!” Heenan exclaims again. “The Brain” seems very nervous.

NO! “The Nature Boy” starts begging for mercy.

Hogan, shaking his fists, looks deep within himself and remembers what A Real American Hero is.

The finger wag and the crowd goes nuts and he makes his big comeback!

Punch, Punch, Punch, Irish Whip, Big Boot…

The referee is busy talking to Elizabeth that loudly protests.

Hogan is getting ready for the Leg Drop and the cover...

When suddenly…

Jimmy Hart raises his Hulkamania megaphone and smashes it over Hogan’s head. Hulk goes down like a sack of potatos, while Flair gives the Figure-Four another try and this time it work’s. Flair wins and is the new WCW World Heavyweight champion!

I'm guessing one of the Nastys is hurt? Saying it's an old foe of the Colonel makes me think of quite a few people; Brian Pillman, British Bulldog, or Sid.... or even.... THE SHOCKMASTER?!? Would Hogan's WCW be ready for <em>that</em> big of a return?!</p>

They've had some main event matches includning one with a great 82 rating. I've would love to see those super heavyweight vs. super heavyweight matches.</p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Latest News from around the World</strong></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In an effort to enhance Hulk Hogan’s gimmick and overness in WCW</strong>, Eric Bischoff and Kevin Sullivan have managed to persuade Hulk Hogan to split from Jimmy Hart on-screen. It seems that Eric Bischoff isn’t the biggest fan of Jimmy Hart, and thinks that ‘The Mouth Of The South’ hampers and diminishes Hulk Hogan’s appeal more than helps it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The contract status of referee Earl Hebner with WWF</strong> was clarified last night, when an announcement on the company website confirmed that he had signed an extension, keeping him with the promotion long-term.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NJPW completed a major signing when they managed to steal Toshiaki Kawada</strong> from rivals AJPW last night. It is understood that he was one of the major targets for the promotion. He is expected to make an appearance at their next show.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dusty Rhodes seems to be clique building</strong>, having forged an alliance between Jerry Sags and Steve Keirn.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The contract status of referee Randy Anderson with WCW</strong> was clarified last night, when an announcement on the company website confirmed that he had signed an extension, keeping him with the promotion long-term.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>It looks like powerhouse Scott Norton</strong> will not be wrestling for a while as the wrestler picked up a Twisted Disco Knee during a NJPW match last night, and early reports are that it will sideline him from active competition. Bad luck for him, as he was rumoured to receive another attempt at a big push in WCW.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In an effort to enhance his career</strong>, New Jack is understood to be about to debut a new style to his ring work. Best known for his Psychopath style, he is understood to be moving more toward a Entertainer approach in order to better showcase his particular talents.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ECW takes wrestling to the extreme!</strong> In an effort to distance itself from the traditional wrestling showcased by the NWA, Eastern Championship Wrestling changed their name to Extreme Championship Wrestling and began promoting their own World Champion.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>According to sources wihin WCW</strong>, Ric Flair routinely tells WCW management behind the scenes that they have to do more with Steve Austin and that Austin is a potential top star. Unfortunately for both, there doesn’t seems like too many in WCW agrees with Flair’s assessment of Austin.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWF experimented with a 30-minute live call-in show on the USA Network last Sunday night and it was a disaster</strong>. For starters, there were technical issues and pretty much every fan that called in only confirmed every negative stereotype people have about the WWF fanbase just being that dopey.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Harry Smith, the young son of Davey Boy Smith, wrestled in Calgary at a show</strong> put together by Stu Hart at a local rodeo. 9-year-old Harry wrestled his cousin Matthew Hart in the match.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In 1993, Eric Bischoff would make his first major steps towards seizing power in World Championship Wrestling</strong>. Gone are the rules that perplexed talent, such as removing ringside safety mats and banning moves from the top rope. In 1994, Bischoff would make his next major step by signing multimillion-dollar free agent Hulk Hogan and also changing the entire structure of WCW’s presentation by upgrading the production values, broadcast quality and live event experience. He also decided to limiting house shows and instead favouring block show tapings in order to save money and drive down costs.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>It’s rare that we see a genuine “Five Star” match</strong>, but last night certainly delivered in a big way when Shinya Hashimoto defeated Keiji Mutoh. The match has made NJPW The Champion Attack one of the must-see events of the year, and is bound to feature heavily in the voting for Match Of The Year.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Scott Steiner put on an impressive performance last night</strong>, outlasting seven other competitors to claim victory in the annual G1 Climax tournament. His three victories over Masa Saito, Masahiro Chono and Shinya Hashimoto that evering led him to win the tournament for the first time.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>According to sources within WCW</strong>, it was actually Sting who was supposed to work a program with Ric Flair this Summer. Had Hogan not came into the company, the Stinger would have been crowned WCW World Champion and reigned supreme for the rest of the year as WCW’s top babyface. As soon as it became clear Hulk was making his way to Atlanta, Sting was moved aside as virtually everyone in WCW’s power base embraced Hogan.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Adam Copeland is a fresh-faced youngster looking to make a splash</strong>. Known as both ‘Sexton Hardcastle’ and ‘Damon Striker’ on the independent scene, Copeland found his way to WCW in 1994 for a handful of enhancement matches. One of those bouts was against Kevin Sullivan, who was very impressed by Copeland. As WCW always is on the look out for fresh talent, Sullivan recommended that the promotion should sign the young man to a contract. It seems nobody else in the promotion feel the same about Damon Striker however. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Elizabeth was brought before the WCW Wrestler’s Court</strong>, accused of being an hour late to pick up her assigned travel partner. The judge, Vader, found her guilty and sentenced her to pay for her travel partner’s meals for the next three shows.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The rumour mill suggests that “The Homicidal Suicidal Genocidal Death-Defying Maniac” Sabu</strong> and referee John Finnegan have recently begun quite a heated rivalry, and can barely be in the same room as each other without a full blown verbal war erupting. Attempts by friends to solve the issues have apparently thus far been unsuccessful.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW has changed their drug policy</strong> and marijuana will no longer be enforced or punished.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>There’s been rumors of Rick Rude returning to WWF</strong>, to be managed by SMW diva Tammy Sytch. It is unlikely that Rude will return to WCW, since Hulk Hogan recently called Rude "The Tasmanian Devil". There are rumors that Hogan isn't interested to work with Rude, because he have a much better definition than Hogan and is considered too stiff since he is a former bouncer. Hulk would rather use his limited dates working with friends like Ed Leslie, The Warlord or John Tenta.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The media in Mexico is talking about the attendance crisis</strong>. A few years ago, before wrestling was on TV in the country, there would be 18 different arenas running regular shows every Wednesday night throughout the country, usually with packed crowds. Now, there’s only one arena show every Wednesday in Mexico. There were those who warned all along that no one goes to the shows when they can just stay home and watch it for free on TV.</p>

Gene Okerlund had an interview with “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart, the top heel manager in the World!

Jimmy Hart is hyping the unstoppable monster heel John Tenta.

Hart says that “Big” John Tenta will destroy Hulkamania and that “Hulk Hogan is afraid of Tenta, the first man to ever knock Hogan out of action for a long time. Hogan know that he can’t beat Earthquake, the 400 pound monster and he has avoided him for a long time.” Sooner or later, John Tenta will get his hands on Hulk Hogan even if he has to go through Sting and the whole WCW roster and all Hulk’s friends.

Gene Okerlund had an interview with Steve Austin and Jeannie hyping his upcoming singles match with Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat at Fall Brawl.

“Superstar” Steve Austin is simply oozing with arrogance. He insults Ricky Steamboat and calls him a lot of censored words. He says that he will get his US title back at Fall Brawl. He is the one and only superstar in WCW, not Sting or Steamboat or Flair or Hogan. “It’s Steve Austin! “Superstar” Steve Austin! And the fans better treat him with the respect he deserves.” Austin points at the back of his custom black trunks with the text “K.M.A.” and says that the fans and Steamboat can read the message. Then he pantomime cries into the camera.

The War Games Rules Are Discussed

The War Games match consist of two teams of four men each facing off with each other in staggered entry format.

The setup of the cage consists of two rings side by side with a giant ring-encompassing rectangular cage that covered both rings, but not the ringside area. Doors are placed at far corners of the rectangular cage so that the two teams can't come into contact before they are supposed to.

The War Games match consists of several periods. The first one-on-one fight in 5 minutes and all remaining competitors from both teams are each two minutes long.

The match begin with one member of each team entering the cage. After five minutes, a member from one of the teams determined by a coin toss, will enter the cage, giving his team the temporary 2-on-1 handicap advantage. After two minutes, a member from the other team would enter to even the odds and giving 2-on-2 tag team advantage fro the next 2 minutes. Entrants alternated between teams every two minutes, giving the coin toss-winning team the temporary advantage in the numbers game before giving the other team the advantage with the freshest man and even odds.

Teams continue to alternate during the 2 minutes periods until all eight men are in the ring.

Once all eight men has entered the cage, what is referred to as "The Match Beyond" begin. Both teams will brawl each other in the cage for as long as it takes until any member of either team submit, surrender, or is knocked out unconscious. There are no pinfalls, no count-outs, and no disqualifications...

Interview w/ Honky Tonk Man

Gene Okerlund had an interview with the cocky Elvis impersinator Honky Tonk Man. There is only room for one song and dance guy in WCW and newcomer H.T.M. is going to run Johnny B. Badd out of Dodge.

Suddenly...

http://i.imgur.com/D6wy5RR.jpg

Johnny B. Badd interrupts the interview. “The Badd Man” is annoyed that H.T.M. has interfered during his matches and messes up Honky’s hair.

Honky Tonk Man clearly do not like people messing with his hair and tries to smash Badd over the head with a guitar. But Johnny B. Badd is faster and hits H.T.M. with the Tutti Frutti (left-handed knockout hook), sending him sprawling on the floor in pain.

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><strong>Latest News from around the World</strong></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWF SummerSlam Report!</strong> World Wrestling Federation held SummerSlam last night in Hawaii, and drew 20,000 fans. Last year’s Summerslam did a buyrate of 1.3 which was considered very disappointing at the time. This year, the company only got a buyrate of 0.65. The main angle of The Undertaker vs. The Underfaker has gotten such a cold response that rumour is the angle will be killed off for good after the Summerslam and that Brian Lee will be repackaged and given a new taylor made gimmick. The MVP of the show was Bret Hart who defeated Rick Martel to retain the WWF World Heavyweight Title, while Diesel defeated Marty Jannetty to retain the WWF Intercontinental Title. The Smoking Gunns began their first reign as WWF World Tag Team champions last night, when they took the titles away from The Headshrinkers. The Headshrinkers managed seven successful title defences prior to this defeat.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWF wrestler Brian Lee</strong> is expected to get a new biker gimmick when the fake Undertaker gimmick has been killed off.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWF are preparing to bring some new faces onto their roster</strong>, with management apparently attempting to “fill some gaps”. Rumour has it that at least one contract was offered last night to Mid-South based tryout wrestler John Bradshaw Layfield. There had been heavy rumours that he wasn’t going to be signed, but the current feeling is that this was false, and he will be receiving a written contract.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Early indications are that the Rock ‘N Roll Express are set to stay with WWF</strong>, after the company offered them new contract extensions yesterday. They are considered one of the key pieces of the tag team division, and so it comes as no surprise that they are attempting to keep them on board instead of letting them return to SMW.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWF star Virgil in steroid drama</strong>. Possession of illegal steroids has thrust Virgil into the spotlight, and once again has begun the debate on how much effort Vince McMahon and WWF are really putting into stamping out the drug use.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWF have apparently begun negotions to extend the contracts of two of their top stars, Jacques and Pierre</strong>. Inside sources say that the company are confident that the deal will be done very soon, without any problems.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Former WWF ring announcer T.C. Martin held a press conference last night</strong> announcing the formation of National Wrestling Conference, based in Las Vegas, Nevada. He revealed that he had big plans for the company, and hoped to be able to announce the first of several big name wrestlers who would be joining them within the next few weeks.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWF have begun negotions to extend the contract of “The Bird Man”, Koko B. Ware</strong>. Inside sources say that the company are confident that the deal will be done very soon, without any problems.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Jim Powers staying with WWF?</strong> Rumour has it that muscle boy Jim Powers has been offered a new contract extension, and is set to sign within the next two or three days.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dave Sullivan leaves WCW</strong>. The WCW website was updated last night with the following news; “WCW and Dave Sullivan have parted company after his contract expired. We wish him all the best in the future.” Dave Sullivan has been unavailable to comment, but is rumoured to start working for MAW and NWA-NJ.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mitsuo Momota began his second reign as AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight champion last night</strong>, when he took the title away from Masanobu Fuchi at the AJPW Showdown Tour. Fuchi managed five successful title defences prior to this defeat.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Maxx Payne turned up so high on soft drugs during an Saturday Night taping</strong>, that he had to be sent home as he was in no condition to work. The irony of the situation is that Maxx Payne just finished his rehab session a few days ago.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Early reports have come into saying that “Dirty” Dick slater was injured</strong>, sustaining Chronic Upper Back Pain, during a WCW Saturday Night dark match last night. No confirmation has come through yet, but it is reported that he left the ring under his own power, which indicates that he probably will not miss the upcoming Wargames Match at Fall Brawl.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Last night’s AJPW Showdown Tour saw a new Match Of The Year candidate</strong>, when The Holy Demon Army (Akira Taue & Toshiaki Kawada) defeated Kenta Kobashi & Mitsuharu Misawa. The excellent bout is sure to feature heavily in a lot of end-of-year polls.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship changed hands last night</strong>, as Akira Nogami became the new champion, ending the reign of Jushin Thunder Liger after eight title defences. This is the second time he has won the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The contract status of Kevin Sullivan with WCW</strong> was clarified last night, when an announcement on the company website confirmed that he had signed an extension, keeping him with the promotion long-term.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Antonio Inoki finally met with George Foreman last week while he was in America for Clash of the Champions</strong>. The two agreed to open negotiations for a match that would take place next April or May in North Korea, at a 100,000 seat soccer stadium. Inoki claims he has already gotten Muhammad Ali to agree to appear as a Special Guest.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In a “Double Hell” match in FMW, Atsushi Onita ended up receiving 111 stitches</strong> after the match to close various cuts. It was announced that this brings Onita up to a total of 1,032 stitches in his pro wrestling career. Onita has been trying to get into the Guiness Book of World Records as the person who has had the most stitches in his life, so this should put him over the magic number he needed to get the record.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>A wrestler named Boo Bradley debuted in SMW this week</strong>. He was brought to the ring by Tammy Sytch on a leash like an animal and was said to be Chris Candido’s wild, crazy childhood friend and now his new tag team partner.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Chris Adams is still trying to get his ring back that was sold when he was out of the country</strong>. He has a court order allowing him to confiscate the ring whenever he can find it. He went to a show that was supposed to be held that was using his ring but when he got there, the show had been cancelled. More news as we get it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW and AAA held meetings with Univision</strong> and others to discuss the promotional plans for the upcoming AAA When Worlds Collide PPV that WCW is producing. WCW will promote the event on their shows and use Mike Tenay for English commentary.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Yesterday evening saw the completion of the signing of Terri Powers by USWA</strong>. The deal is said to be a pay-per-appearance arrangement, meaning that she can work for other promotions too.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>I looks like New Japan wrestler, Tarzan Goto will not be wrestling for a while</strong>, as the grappler picked up a Back Injury during a match last night, and early reports are that it will sideline him from active competition for two months.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>FMW saw a title change last night</strong>, as the previously vacant FMW Brass Knuckles Championship was won by Atshushi Onita after defeating Yukihiro Kanemura at the FMW Jailbreak Tour. This victory marks his fifth reign with the title.</p>
