We are going to see Ric Flair versus Hulk Hogan at Bash at the Beach for the WCW World Heavyweight title!

Match #1: WCW World Television Title Match. 15 Minute Time Limit

Lord Steven Regal© defends vs. Terry Taylor
Our opening match sees Lord Steven Regal defend the WCW World Television title against Terry Taylor. Both men keep the match to the mat with Taylor using a little of speed to take the advantage whenever he can. Regal, though, is not above cheating to keep his title and that is shown when Sir William strikes Terry Taylor in the back with his umbrella outside the ring. Of course, Regal distracted the official during this moment in time. Close to the nine minute mark, Regal is in full control and brings Taylor to the mat with a perfectly executed butterfly suplex. He quickly locks on the Regal Stretch and, after a moment of fighting, Taylor is forced to submit, giving Regal a successful title defense.

Lord Steven Regal d. Stunning Steve makes the camera motion toward the camera as Okerlund begins the interview.

Gene Okerlund: "Ladies and gentlemen, I am here tonight with the United States champion Stunning Steve Austin. Steve, in just a few short weeks, you will be defending the United States title against the challenger Ricky The Dragon Steamboat at Bash at the Beach. Your thoughts as we head toward that big pay-per-view event?"

Steve Austin: "My thoughts, Gene? My thoughts are simple. I am going to be stepping in the ring with a man that thinks he is a Dragon. I think the old man has gone senile. Does he really think that he is good enough to step in the ring with Stunning Steve Austin? I don't think so. He is nowhere near my level. As a matter of fact, the bottom line is that there's no one in this company that's on my level. That includes Ricky Steamboat and that even includes the great Hulk Hogan. What do you want?"

Steve Austin is distracted when Brian Pillman walks out from the back and approaches the interview set. Tony Schiavone reminds everyone that Austin is the man that put Pillman out of action. Pillman doesn't waste words. Instead, he throws a punch, knocking Austin backward but Austin remains on his feet. The two men nearly come to blows again but security steps in to keep the two men separated. They escort Austin to the back as Pillman is taken to the ring because his match is next.

Match #2:

'The Hustler' Rip Rogers vs. 'Flyin' Brian Pillman
This is an extremely short match between these two wrestlers. The Hustler gets in a cheap shot in the first minute but Pillman immediately fires back and maintains control. Pillman shows he still has some high flying ability when he catches Rip Rogers with a pair of headscissors takeovers. He catches Rogers with an early dropkick and before the match even goes to a minute and a half, Pillman hits Rogers with the Air Pillman, a springboard clothesline. Pillman makes the cover and scores the three count.

Brian Pillman p. Whether it's been Barry Windham or Lex Luger or Ole Anderson or Tully Blanchard, I have teamed with the very best in this business. So I am telling you right now that you need to make sure you listen to what I have to say when it comes to this tag team match. We are going to do things the Anderson way. That means we're not going to wear white hats going into this match. We're going to do whatever it takes to walk away with a victory because that is what's important."

Dustin Rhodes: "Just remember, you have to be able to look at yourself in the mirror every night. As he usually does, Anderson selects a body part of his opponent and immediately sets to work on that body part. In this case, it's the right arm of Terry Funk. Anderson scores a near fall early on following a single arm DDT on this right arm. The match does turn to brawling during the middle section and this is where Terry Funk takes control. Funk sends Anderson out of the ring and then rams him right into the ring post. Funk gets warned by the referee but shrugs it off. Around the eleven minute mark, Funk goes for the Texas Piledriver but Anderson blocks it and then elevates Funk with a back body drop. Both men lie on the mat and referee Randy Anderson begins the count. The count is broken when Anderson reaches his feet. He ducks a clothesline attempt by Funk and then catches him with a Spinebuster, Anderson style. It takes Anderson a moment before he drags his thumb across his throat and makes the cover but Funk manages a foot on the ropes to break that up. The former Enforcer of the Horsemen continues his momentum, bringing Terry Funk up and down with a hammerlock transitioned into a body slam on that arm. A little over seventeen minutes into the match, Anderson sets up Funk for the Anderson DDT. Instead, though, he takes a clothesline from Meng causing the referee to immediately call for the bell and disqualify Funk.

Arn Anderson d. Robert Parker enters the ring and begins directing traffic with Meng assaulting Arn Anderson as Terry Funk begins to recover. Meng picks up Anderson and catches him with a hard savate kick right underneath the chin. As Anderson goes down, Dustin Rhodes slides into the ring. He fires a Bionic Elbow to Terry Funk, sending Funk back down off his feet. Rhodes fires a Bionic Elbow to the skull of Meng but it doesn't have any effect on the hard head of the Tongan Warrior. Instead, it seems to hurt Rhodes' skull. Bunkhouse Buck slides into the ring and grabs the arm of Rhodes, holding him as Meng catches him with a savate kick like he gave to Anderson. Rhodes is tossed down by Buck to lie beside Anderson. Col. Robert Parker raises the arm of his Stud Stable members giving them the advantage and momentum right now to end the first hour of action.

Bash at the Beach Control Center

The second hour begins by going to a studio shot with Gordon Solie.

Gordon Solie: "Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the Bash at the Beach Control Center. I'm Gordon Solie. We are just a few weeks away from the Bash where we will see the WCW World Heavyweight title defended as Ric Flair steps in the ring with Hulk Hogan in Hogan's WCW debut match. Right now, I would like to go to a very special interview featuring The Immortal Hulk Hogan."

From there, the video cuts to a training montage featuring Hulk Hogan. American Made plays in the background as we see Hogan lifting weights and jumping rope. It is very reminiscent of watching a training montage on any of the Rocky movies. After this, we go to Hogan himself, ready to cut an interview.

Hulk Hogan: "Well, let me tell you something, Hulkamaniacs! We are just a few weeks away from me taking on that nasty dude, Ric Flair, at Bash at the Beach 1994. I can tell you that I have been lifting weights, taking my vitamins and saying my prayers to the big Hulkamaniac in the sky, brother. I have been doing everything that I can to prepare for this match. I have been listening to all my Hulkamaniacs all over the world. I can tell you, brother, that Hulkamania is running wild from one end of the United States to the other end. Nature Boy, we are just a few weeks away from you feeling the power of Hulkamania, dude. At Bash at the Beach, when you're standing in your locker room and looking in the mirror, you're going to have to ask yourself one question, brother. That question is whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when the power of Hulkamania and all these Hulkamaniacs runs wild over you?"

Hulk Hogan poses for the camera and we move back to the ringside area.

Good Gawd!

The fans here in Tampa boo the arrival of Diamond Dallas Page along with his Diamond Doll. Now, Doll, honey, take off this robe so I can show the audience what real talent looks like."

DDP places his arms out to the side and stands there as the Diamond Doll follows his orders. She removes his robe and folds it over her arm. DDP runs his fingers through his hair and looks across the ring toward Frankie Lancaster, his opponent for tonight. Within the first minute, DDP catches Lancaster with a tilt-a-whirl slam and a gutwrench style gutbuster. DDP moves over to the corner and forces the Diamond Doll to wipe his brow, drawing some boos from this audience. The audience tries to get behind Lancaster but it's to no avail. DDP catches Lancaster with a wristlock and then multiple shoulder blocks to bring him to the mat. He flashes the diamond sign and then waits for Lancaster to get to his feet before hitting him with the Diamond Cutter! Lancaster is out on the mat but DDP gets Diamond Doll to wipe his brow again before he makes the cover. The referee drops down and counts to three. Are you man enough to step into the ring with me with no rules? Are you tough enough to face the man they call Vader? We know you're mostly made of chicken, Guardian Angel, so Harley Race and I know that you'll probably say no to this challenge and prove that you've got a yellow streak running down your back. Mean Gene Okerlund here alongside the WCW World Heavyweight champion Ric Flair and, of course, the lovely Sensuous Sherri. Ric, we know you've got a match coming up at Bash at the Beach against Hulk Hogan but, tonight, you face someone all too familiar with you in Ricky The Dragon Steamboat. Your thoughts going into tonight's match?

Ric Flair: "Mean Whooo Gene! We are in Tampa, Florida and tonight there's a party going down that will be a celebration of another victory by The Nature Boy over Ricky Steamboat. Tonight, Dragon, you're going to walk that aisle, once again, and face off against the very best in this industry. I can prove that I'm the best because I'm the man with the ten pounds of gold around my waist. You can forget any of those imposters and those look-alike titles because this is the only title that matters. This is the WCW World Heavyweight title. This title is around the waist of the only man that matters and that is The Nature Boy Ric Flair. Tonight, on the SuperStation, I am going to walk up the aisle and prove, once again, that I am the best. It doesn't matter whether it's Ricky Steamboat tonight or Hulk Hogan at Bash at the Beach, they're all going to fall to their knees in front of the very best. I am a limousine riding, jet flying, kiss stealing, wheeling, dealing son of a gun that kisses all the girls and leaves them in tears because they know that at the end of the day they cannot keep the Nature Boy to themselves. Whooo! Gene-o, you're invited to the party tonight. Sherri, make sure he gets an invitation. But, tonight, Tampa Florida, you're going to see greatness. This is a non title match between the WCW World Heavyweight champion Ric Flair and the number one contender to the WCW United States title, Ricky Steamboat. These two men have met various times over the years and that is talked about by Tony Schiavone in the first few minutes of the contest. Flair plays a good cat and mouse game earlier with Steamboat, going outside the ring and using the ropes and doing whatever he can to thwart the momentum that Steamboat acquires. Steamboat, on the other hand, shows some skill in hitting a picture perfect dropkick on Flair in the center of the ring. Steamboat matches Flair chop for chop in the corner early on but the momentum switches when The Dragon goes for a high knee in the corner and Flair moves out of the way. Steamboat strikes the corner with his right knee and drops to the mat, holding it. Flair moves right in and starts going to work on the knee. He does things like laying it across the bottom rope and hitting a seated senton on the knee and ramming it hard against the ring post. Around eighteen minutes into the match, Flair goes for the Figure Four but Steamboat reverses it into a small package, scoring a two count.

Tony Schiavone: "We very nearly saw Ricky Steamboat pull off a huge win against the World Champion! This may be one of the biggest matches in the history of WCW Saturday Night!"

Tony Schiavone is right about that as Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat show some pretty good chemistry in the ring together. The momentum shifts back and forth in the match with neither man completely sustaining things as we move forward into the contest. Steamboat whips Flair into the turnbuckle and he flips up and over, landing on the apron. He runs across and climbs the turnbuckle but Steamboat is there to meet him with a big slam. Steamboat takes control and locks Flair in the elevated double chicken wing! Flair refuses to submit and Sensuous Sherri looks worried at ringside. Steamboat releases the hold and drops Flair to the mat. It would seem that Steamboat's right knee gave out on him. Steamboat turns and heads to the top turnbuckle slowly, relying on his left leg. Sensuous Sherri slides her shoe in the ring and climbs up on the apron, getting the attention of both the referee and Ricky Steamboat. Both of them yell at her to get down but she refuses, keeping them both distracted. Flair grabs the shoe she tossed in the ring and slowly moves over to Steamboat, striking him in the leg with the shoe before dropping it to ringside. Steamboat falls inside the ring and Flair bounces off the ropes -- knee drop! Flair moves around and grabs the legs of Steamboat -- Figure Four Leglock! Sherri drops off the apron and the referee checks on Steamboat before calling for the bell.
Ric Flair d. Ricky Steamboat =A

I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

The match is over but Ric Flair refuses to release the Figure Four on Ricky Steamboat! Sensuous Sherri comes in the ring and throws the referee out to ringside. Flair grabs the middle rope, using it for leverage as Steamboat cries out in pain. The crowd rises to their feet as a blur runs from the back toward the ring. That blur is revealed to be Sting! Sting slides in the ring and drops down, throwing punches to Flair and breaking the Figure Four! Sensuous Sherri jumps on Sting's back and Sting stands up, swinging around, trying to get her off him. One final swing sends Sherri dropping to the mat. Sting ducks a clothesline attempt by Flair and then catches him with a kick to the gut. Sting whips Flair to the turnbuckle. He backs into the opposite corner and then charges, catching Flair with a Stinger Splash! Flair falls face-first on the mat and then Sherri rolls him outside the ring. Sensuous Sherri and Ric Flair back up the aisle with the WCW World Heavyweight title belt. Sting poses in the ring as the show comes to a close. Sting releases a howl as Eric Bischoff reminds everyone to tune in to WCW Main Event tomorrow night on TBS.

Badd
Our opening match here on WCW Saturday Night is a World Television title defense as Lord Steven Regal faces off with a nemesis in Johnny B. Badd. Regal does his best to keep Badd grounded in the early going but Badd will not stay on the ground. Badd scores a two count when he comes flying off the top turnbuckle with a sunset flip on Regal. Regal, on the other hand, has something that Badd does not and that is Sir William. Around the ten minute mark, Sir William manages to strike Badd in the back with his umbrella. Badd stumbles forward and Regal brings him to the mat with a butterfly suplex. This is quickly transitioned into the Regal Stretch, leaving Badd no choice but to submit. This leads to another successful title defense for Lord Steven Regal.

Lord Steven Regal d. Johnny B. Now, Guardian Angel, Vader has challenged you to make your match at Bash at the Beach a no disqualification match. The two men get in the face of The Guardian Angel and a fight breaks out between the two principle wrestlers. Heavy handed punches are thrown by both sides until security and officials come and manage to separate the two men. Gene Okerlund is out of there but making his presence known is the WCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel. Back in the ring, Simmons catches The British Bulldog with a diving shoulderblock off the second turnbuckle, scoring a two count on the British wrestler. The British Bulldog comes back with a dropkick and a show of strength when he lifts Ron Simmons up and holds him in a delayed vertical suplex before dropping him hard to the mat. The match is kept short and dominated by Erik Watts. Watts gets Gambler in a corner and throws some punches before spinning The Gambler around and sending him shoulder-first through the turnbuckle to the ring post. Orndorff shows his skill with a few forearm strikes and a belly to back suplex on Mark Starr. Just like last week, these two men have met various times in their history here in WCW. In the first few minutes, Tony Schiavone talks about their history and just how great both of these men are. Flair plays a cat and mouse game with Sting in the early going. He goes outside the ring several times when Sting gets the advantage to break the momentum. Back in the ring, Sting catches Flair with a gorilla press slam, sending Flair hard to the mat as Flair grabs his back in pain. Sting moves in but Flair pokes him in the eye. He shoves Sting back in the corner and laces up his chest with several knife edge chops. Flair takes control for several minutes, focusing on Sting's right knee, until he goes for a running knee drop but Sting rolls out of the way! The crowd claps and stomps their feet, giving Sting some momentum as we are fourteen minutes into the match. Sting gets to his feet and begins throwing some punches to Flair! He Irish whips Flair to the turnbuckle and Flair flips up and over the top. He runs along the apron but Sting catches him with a clothesline that sends him down to ringside. Sting backs up and then charges the corner, Flair pulls the referee in the corner and the Stinger Splash catches the referee instead of Flair! Referee Nick Patrick collapses on the mat and Flair catches Sting with a low blow. Sting drops to his knees and into the ring comes Barry Windham! Windham stands between Flair and Sting and the crowd cheers. Windham stares down The Nature Boy as he adjusts the glove on his right hand. Flair begs off from Windham, moving into the corner with Sensuous Sherri. Sherri climbs on the apron and hands Flair her high heeled shoe! Flair moves back toward Windham and Sting. He steps around Windham and goes to hit Sting with the shoe but Windham blocks him! Windham grabs the shoe from Flair! The crowd cheers loudly and Flair's eyes go wide! He begs off again and Windham strikes...Sting with the shoe! Flair smiles as Sting collapses to the mat. Windham exits the ring as Flair turns Sting around before locking in the Figure Four! Windham and Sherri wake up referee Nick Patrick as Flair grabs the middle rope to put more pressure on Sting. Nick Patrick sees the shoulders down of Sting and begins the count, making the three count. Ric Flair retains the title.
Ric Flair d. What a horrible way to end the show but we're here at the end. Ric Flair, Barry Windham and Sensuous Sherri stand tall as the show comes to a close. Tony Schiavone reminds everyone to tune in to WCW Main Event tomorrow night on TBS!

On this night, the fans in California will get to see the arrival of 'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan to WCW Saturday Night! Last week, we saw the return of Barry Windham as he joined forces with Ric Flair and cost Sting his shot at the WCW World Heavyweight title. On this night, our main event is going to see Sting get a shot at revenge when he takes on Barry Windham in one on one action.

-A non-title match is on the cards tonight as Steve Austin steps in the ring to take on The Guardian Angel.
