OK, I'm going to go through the past few pages and make sure everything that CAN get addressed, gets addressed. I'm still learning here, so if something doesn't seem right, or even if you just have a question about something I've done or why I've done it, let me know. I'm an accessible guy, and I'd like to keep this fun.

But before I go...WOOHOO "FAKE NEWS!" Shame some of the dice rolls didn't go my way, but we're off to a really good start.

Fake News was a fun little movie and you seemed to have it well cast. But no worries. You still made some strong bank on it. Can't fault a nice bottom line.</p>

<p>Alright. We've got a LOT of negotiations to tackle. The first batch of negotiations are below, and I'll have the second batch up either tonight or tomorrow (there may be a third batch depending on time constraints and what I'm able to crank out; bear with me!).</p><p> </p><p>

Reminder: I WILL be abiding by Russell's rule where I will not review more than three movies at once. Hopefully, this makes things a bit more manageable for yours truly!</p><p> </p><p>

One request for now, to those of you cooking up movie proposals: PLEASE do not request anyone who is not in the database. I'm aware that the database is missing some people you may be interested in. I'm trying to get access to where I can either edit the existing database or, if all else fails, create something new that I've got the ability to edit. I'll hopefully have a solution to this worked out next week, but that's just not something I've got the time to tackle tonight or this weekend (since I work Saturdays and Sundays).</p><p> </p><p>

<p><strong>Studio Name</strong>: Goliath of Entertainment</p><p>

<strong>Founder Name</strong>: Andy Sim</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Title</strong>: Protégé</p><p>

<strong>Genre</strong>: Crime/Drama</p><p>

<strong>Brief Summary Of The Plot</strong>: A rather inexperienced hitman is tasked with his most dauntsome task so far in his career -- to kill his mentor.</p><p>

<strong>Rating</strong>: PG or PG-13(Really depend on how the story ends up)</p><p>

<strong>Style</strong>: Heavy first-person narrative, Slow, focus on inner, emotional struggle</p><p>

<strong>Production Cost: </strong>TBD - Judging by the film, not much is needed, more would be thrown to marketing than here.</p><p>

<strong>Marketing Cost: </strong>TBD(Hey we are a new studio, please be forgiving with this)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Talent Casting</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Director</strong>: For the first film, I think it's best to find someone who has handled crime or drama before and has a decent reputation so the movie doesn't look too indie.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sam Mendes</strong></p><p>

"Pleasure to meet you. Our studio executives are big fans of your works. We find you to be among the best candidates to direct our first film. We understand if you would prefer to explore another genre for your next project. But, if you don't mind another crime drama on your resume, we have the right project for you."</p><p> </p><p>

Normal proposal and see how it goes.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Frank Darabont</strong></p><p>

"How are you this fine morning, sir? We are a new studio looking to get our feet wet in this promised land of all moviemakers. And you, look to be just the right guy for our first project. We, like everybody else, really, are a big fan of your works and we would certainly enjoy you in another visionary project. But, we are just starting out, so our project isn't that special. We truly believe that you can do a great job with anything and we are hoping you can come aboard."</p><p> </p><p>

Normal proposal and see how it goes.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Lead</strong>: "Nickname TBA" -- Professional hitman; new to the job, still getting used to the hitman lifestyle</p><p> </p><p>

Casting on hold. Am looking to get someone young and upcoming on board but that depends if I can get a named director or a named actor on the major character below.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Major</strong>: "Centurion" -- Experienced hitman; mentor of the leading character(and many hitman before him), experienced, composed, one bad-ass M'Fker, has deadly disease and will not live for too long</p><p> </p><p>

I am a Nic Cage fan so let's hit him up and hope this movie can kickstart his mainstream career again in this timeline.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nicholas Cage</strong></p><p>

"Hello there, we are a new studio in Hollywood and we are interested in you taking a major role in our first project. A lot of people in our managing board are your fans (And as you are in debt and obviously can't refuse work,) and we would be interested to have you in a major role. The role might not be, as fans put it, 'Cagey', but you have played serious, cool-headad character before and we would like to see that side of you again in the big screen.</p><p> </p><p>

We understand that your name and reputation demands high price, but we are wondering if you would be interested in our proposal: We give you half now and half post-production. The remaining money will be used to fund other part of our project like a bigger director and so on, and you still get paid eventually. To make the deal even sweeter(since we know you aren't reject money), we will be asking for you again in our next few movies and offer you a lead role if this movie is a hit, which is certain to happen if we can get you in it.</p><p> </p><p>

Alternatively, we can pay you up the money upfront, no problem, but this doesn't guaranteed another opportunity with our studio in the near future."</p><p> </p><p>

TL;DR 50% pre-production, 50% post-production split + a guaranteed major role or better in the studio's next 6 movies(Upgraded to guaranteed lead if the movie is a hit)</p><p> </p><p>

Words in brackets are thoughts, I am not going to say those words in front of him. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Minor</strong>: <strong>Minor</strong>: Name TBA - Handler, the middle man(or in this case, woman) between the hitmans and the organization. Beautiful, strong, independent woman. Like her hitman clients, handle things without emotion. Must be willing to show her upper back in a short scene(Technically a nude scene, right?), no buttock or other sensitive parts.</p><p> </p><p>

Casting on hold</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Possible minors</strong>: Depending on budget</p>

He could also scale down a bit. Like Dustin Hoffman is a wonderful actor but you gotta pay big for him. Had this been my flick, I might have gone for a guy like a Scott Bakula. Guy I know can act the pants off of anything he's given but would come cheap because he doesn't have the megastar brand that Hoffman does.

Ellen Page might have been Miranda Cosgrove or Bella Thorne. Someone just coming out of the kiddie scene looking to branch out. Maybe a True O'Brien or Olivia Rose Keegan because I know their soap work.

Basically, you want to go cheap for the first flick or two so you can build up the resources to use the Pages, Hoffmans and Crowes. Trying to rush your way into the uber names is one of the biggest mistakes I see in this game.

Basically, you want to go cheap for the first flick or two so you can build up the resources to use the Pages, Hoffmans and Crowes. Trying to rush your way into the uber names is one of the biggest mistakes I see in this game.

That's kind of one of the reasons I think Golden Girl may be my riskiest first movie yet, I've got a ton of relatively decent cheap people, some expensive people, maybe a few too many roles and only $10M to put together a competent cast while keeping in mind production and marketing.

I'll be happy to open negotiate with cheaper alternates if push comes to shove if I can find them.

I now realize that I may have made too many parts... I love playing this game, and have since the beginning, but I like many others usually get sidetracked....

I always go in with bigger names, to gauge their wage requests, try to negoiate down, and if not have cheaper options in mind.

I have someone in mind for a replacement for Hoffman, but he seems to like the role, so I will try to bend a little there. If not, the replacement has all the capabilities for what I want.

My issue is trying to come up with cheaper known alternates lol...especially younger actors....

Should be fun

That's one of the reasons you see me casting young soap opera people. I've been watching Days of Our Lives since high school and dabbled in others on occasion as well. So I know what those folks bring to the table. Like in my current pic, one of the reasons I wanted Kate Mansi and Ashley Benson for the two main female roles is because they both used to play the same character on Days. Benson played teenage Abby and then Mansi took over when Abby was matured in nature. So having them play off each other in something was a fun quirk.

Negotiation updates below!

- - - - -

combatmedic: The 13th Step

Director: Cameron Crowe has countered, and will do the film for $2.75 million plus 5% of profits above the movie's final budget.

Jackson Hughes: Garrett Hedlund has countered. If no nudity is involved, $1.5 million and another lead role is a fair deal. If nudity is involved, he demands an extra $500k, on top of another role. However, he is willing to accept either a lead or major role as part of that revised deal.

Seth Duncan: Dustin Hoffman likes the part, but he already feels as though he is giving a pretty significant discount for his services at $3.5 million. His final offer: $3 million, plus 5% of profits above the movie's final budget.

Susie Q: Beverly Mitchell asks for $750k, plus an extra $250k for nudity.

Old Willie: Terrance Stamp accepts your terms.

Vince: Jon Abrahams asks for $500k.

Majin: Escape

John Doe: Brad Pitt is open to negotiating, and he has faith in the studio, but $5.5 million is too low for him. His counter: $6 million, plus three future lead roles (including one in the studio's next project), plus an option for 10% of profits above the budget of one of those future projects (to be determined at a later date).

<p>If anyone is interested, I've put up an important update on the first page. (It's a revamp of the Lady Luck system. In short: Tests show it's too pessimistic in it's current form and a more balanced one has been put in place to prevent disenfranchisement)</p><p> </p><p>

I know, I know; I don't technically host anymore...but I did create the game so I still own some authority.</p><p> </p><p>

P.S: Decided to get an early start on Golden Girl, I've already called it my riskiest first movie yet; so I need this to be perfect or i'm in trouble.</p><p> </p><p>

I'll be headed off to bed soon, and Hurricane Irma will be on it's way here by tomorrow night. I will try to negotiate with talent before that time.</p>

<p>OK, two negotiations tonight before bed. I know a few other films have come in to handle negotiations for, and I'll hope to get those handled tomorrow. Monday/Tuesday will see me update the talent database, scrubbing out the MT5 stuff, adding the MT6 stuff for films that have already been reviewed/staffed, and posting my own second movie proposal. Long story short, exciting times lie ahead!</p><p> </p><p>
