Double post: I hope i'm not trying to rush, but i'm hoping that negotiations are coming sooner rather than later. The hurricane is getting closer and it won't be long till it hits Ocala. (which I live around)

Just saw this; working on them now and will get them up as soon as I can.

UPDATES BELOW

- Ruby Gold: Nicole Kidman asks for $5 million. Anne Hathaway likes the part and asks for $4.5 million. Britt McKillip asks for $1.2 million. Demi Lovato asks for $750k. Emmy Rossum asks for $2 million. Brittany Snow asks for $750k. Emilie Claire Barlow also asks for $750k.

- Taylor Swift's team is playing hardball and has made a "take it or leave it" offer. She will do the film for $4 million, plus 10% of the movie's profits above its budget. Furthermore, in addition to lead roles in the next two movies at a minimum of that $4 million rate, she expects 5% of profits above the movies' budgets, or an extra $1 million (whichever number is greater).

- Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus both ask for $2.5 million.

- Neil Patrick Harris agrees to do the movie for $1.5 million and a future lead role.

Neil Patrick Harris: Deal.

Emile Claire Barlow: Deal.

Jessica Diamond: We need to go really cheap on Jessica, for the sake of our production budget and marketing budget. My worry is that I don't know how far down the line Miley Cyrus or Selena Gomez will go. Unfortunately, perhaps not low enough.

We have been resorted to no other option than to call Demi Lovato back to negotiate for Jessica Diamond as she was the cheapest for Ruby Gold.

Wade is a superstar high school quarterback in football-mad Texas before leaving the University of Texas in disgrace and joining the military, and this chronicles his simultaneous attempts to rebuild his image, career, and life ahead of the NFL Draft. His support group consists of his best friend (a wide receiver that doubles as a draft prospect himself), a respected quarterback coach, and an assortment of people working on a small television project that Wade falls into.

Rating: PG-13 (language, adult situations)

Production Cost: TBD

Marketing Cost: TBD

Licensing Fees: We’d like to know what Electronic Arts (the producers of “Madden”) would want for us to be able to produce this film. Additionally, we’d like to work with the NFL Network and use their talent to provide analysis at various points up to and including the movie’s NFL Draft.

Director: We’re approaching Spike Lee, Oliver Stone, Kathryn Bigelow, and Ryan Coogler.

Lead Role: Devin Wade

Wade is the centerpiece of this story, and the movie tracks his maturation from a has-been, immature kid to a young man who finally “gets it,” although not necessarily in the way he laid out. His athletic ability has never been in question, but his life experiences have shaped him, and not necessarily in a good way.

We’re approaching Michael B. Jordan and Chadwick Boseman.

Major Role: Colt Cruise

Colt Cruise has served as Wade’s sidekick all his life. Most of Wade’s touchdown passes in high school went to Cruise, a wide receiver whose main problem is his relatively small stature. However, he’s got an extremely high football IQ (despite not being overly bright at times), and he’s looking to ride that into the pros. He's a typical young man from the South, as he drives a pick-up truck, does manual labor around town as a side job, and is unusually gifted with an acoustic guitar.

We’re approaching Michael Cera, Aaron Paul, Shia LeBeouf, and Andrew Garfield.

Major Role: Julia Vasco

Julia Vasco starts off the film as the assistant producer of the TV show in question, and she’s actually the one who brings Devin and Colt to the attention of her then-boss (more on him later). Like nobody since Devin’s long-deceased mother, she connects with Devin (though not in a romantic way) and genuinely wants what’s best for him, not just for the show. Oddly, she has a strange chemistry with Colt, who hits on her pretty much from the moment they meet.

We’re approaching Gal Gadot, Blake Lively, Aubrey Plaza, Selena Gomez, and Vanessa Hudgens.

Major Role: Ross Fountain

Ross Fountain serves as the main antagonist in the first part of the movie. He is an executive producer that is solely concerned with how his show looks, and treats all of its participants (including his own staff) like pieces on a chess board. He’s the standard, fast-talking Hollywood executive, and while several of his one-liners provide some of the funniest lines in the movie, there are very few redeeming qualities about him.

We’re approaching Will Arnett, Terrence Howard, William Shatner, and “Fake News” alum Danny Devito.

Major Role: Jack Ford

Jack Ford is a longtime NFL quarterback coach who has mentored some of the best signal-callers in football. He’s out of his preferred job due to a series of public failures, and he’s been selected to host a new TV program that will coach and follow one lucky prospect on his way to the NFL Draft. He’s the stereotypical football coach, one that doesn’t take any nonsense, and that sparks plenty of conflict along the way. However, he’s also an honest man with a good heart, and he’ll fight for his players.

We’re approaching Alec Baldwin, Billy Bob Thornton, Kiefer Sutherland, and Harvey Keitel.

Minor Role: Cutter Wade

Cutter Wade is Devin’s father, and is only seen in a series of flashbacks throughout the movie. He raised Devin on his own following the death of Devin’s mother, who passed away when Devin was a toddler. It’s revealed that Cutter, who was also a high school football legend, died shortly before Devin’s first game at Texas.

We’re approaching Terry Crews and Laurence Fishburne. NOTE: Mahershala Ali played him in the game, but he's not in the database right now, and with one necessary exception, I'm going by the "please don't ask for actors not in the database" request I laid out last week.

Minor Role: Ms. Cruise

Like Cutter Wade, Colt’s mother was a single parent who raised her son alone after her then-husband left the family, never to return. She’s strict, but has a certain rapport with her wise-cracking son and, at times, worries about the influence Devin and Colt have on one another.

We’re approaching Demi Moore and Jane Lynch.

Minor Role: Mark Sleczyak

Mark Sleczyak (pronounced sleez-ak) emerges as Devin’s main competition on the TV show. He’s the token jock, with plenty of attitude and a sizable ego, and he, too, is looking to get drafted by an NFL team.

We’re approaching Nick Jonas and Taylor Lautner.

Minor Role: Captain McCarthy

Captain McCarthy served as Wade’s commanding officer in the United States Army. Wade’s assignment was no accident, as McCarthy was a Division I kicker with plenty of football-related demons of his own. Wade brings the crew halfway around the world, and McCarthy provides insight into what makes Devin tick.

We’re approaching Aaron Eckhart, John Cena, and Benjamin Bratt.

Cameo: Famous NFL quarterback

Along Wade’s way to the draft, he’s introduced to a famous quarterback, one that imparts wisdom at one point of the film and carries an important message at another.

The game has Dan Marino in this role, and we want him, but just in case something comes up, we’ll also talk with Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, and Joe Montana.

OK, here's my ruling on Astyn's inquiry about a $100k talent in a minor role. I'm going to call this the Extra Rule, and here's how we'll do it.

Every studio has the option of filling one (AND ONLY ONE) minor role per film with an extra, at the cost of $100k. Said extra will not have a name and will not be added to the database. They will be complete unknowns, with star power of 0.0. What this means is that they will not contribute anything positive to the movie with their acting performances, and could, in fact, contribute negatively towards the film's final rating depending on the dice roll/Lady Luck factor. Having said that, this is an option in play for studios on smaller budgets, or those who don't have an idea on an actor to play a certain small part in a film.

To clarify once again, here are the limitations of the Extra Rule: Extras cannot fill lead or major roles, and you may only use one per film. Do not expect a cheap extra to come out of nowhere and become a star, as this rule is my version of the old axiom, "you get what you pay for." At best, the acting quality will be 0, and negative results are still very possible. With that in mind, it is still preferable to search the database and find actors that are more well-known. However, there are certain instances (especially early in the game) where using the Extra Rule could be a good idea.

For the sake of clarity and getting everything on the same page, I'm PM'ing Russell right now and asking him to copy-paste the above text in the very first post of the thread (since I obviously can't edit his posts).

Now, after handling that...

I would also like to re-offer Jack O'Connell the role of Danny Boy to take 750k and a promised 3-4 million dollar role in a future role in my next 5 movies.

Jack O'Connell accepts, provided that the future role in question is a lead or major role.

Astyn, a thought for you for future reference. When Russel was getting his feet wet in the game and was preparing his first animated feature, he didn't know the directors on that genre at all until I started chatting with him in PM about all the folks Cartoon Network kickstarted in the late 90's. Your Genndy Tartokovskys and Craig McCrackens. About Lauren Faust co-directing for the Powerpuff Girls before developing My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. And so on. Had I gotten to my old Britcom star research earlier maybe I could have pointed you in the direction of someone like a Janet Dibley. AKA the female lead of The Two Of Us opposite the great Nicholas Lyndhurst. I don't think "could I get a casting suggestion here" would be considered using your Act of God. I believe that's for larger structure issues.

We would like to begin by approaching Bryce Dallas Howard and January Jones for this role

Lead Role; Stuart Youngston

Father of Heather & Michael. A workaholic who inadvertently neglects his children due to his business but tries his best to be there.

We are initially approaching Jason Segel and Patrick Dempsey for this part.

Major Role; Heather Youngston

Oldest of children. Beginning to resent her father for putting his work first before his family but wants her father to be happy.

There is a limit in the database of who we can approach but we are keen to approach Isabelle Fuhrman and Sophie Turner

Major Role; Michael Youngston

Youngest of children. Struggling to deal with the absence of his father. Shares a closeness with his sister, Heather and immediately develops a fondness for Erin.

For the role of Michael we are looking to approach child starlets Ty Simpkins and Jacob Tremblay

Minor Role; Claire Walster

Erin’s Sister. Life adviser to Erin who just wants her to find her bliss.

Trish Stratus and Elisha Cuthbert are the first people we're approaching for this role.

Minor Role; Bekki Bryce

Attractive business associate of Stuart with a clear infatuation with him

We feel that for this role we'd like to shed a light on the talents of Sasha Grey or Aimee Garcia

Thus ends our initial casting call for this production. Hopefully with a seasoned director and a strong script we can aim to bring some under utilised or under appreciated talent to the forefront of the acting world.
