However, Carter will say that last week's match was the strongest evidence yet that Eddie Edwards doesn't give a damn about this company. Carter will add that not only did Eddie Edwards explicit state that he was "representing Pro-Wrestling NOAH", he also chose to share the momentous occasion, on their show, with another outsider. Ethan will say that last week, Impact Wrestling meant nothing to Eddie Edwards, adding that he and his team had little choice but to remind Eddie Edwards, and Naomichi Marufuji, what show they were on. Carter will continue, making the point that Eddie Edwards is using this company to further himself, but will be cut off as Naomichi Marufuji makes a beeline for the ring. <div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="OG6SwJZ.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OG6SwJZ.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div> Marufuji will make it clear that he is furious with the events of last week, getting into the faces of Dewey Barnes, Norv Fernum and then Ethan Carter. Dewey & Norv will act as if they are ready for Naomichi, and Ethan Carter will ask the Japanese star what he wants. Naomichi Marufuji will say "I want Team Impact", while pointing at the two men who join Ethan Carter in the middle of the ring. He will then go nose to nose with Ethan. Initially looking terrified, the dememour of Dewey and Norv will change when Carter turns to them. At this time, they will act like they are up for the match. “Team Impact” will size up, with Dewey and Norv standing behind Ethan and telling Naomichi that “we’re all ready”. Ethan Carter will look to his two lackeys, with a confused look. He will then explain that if they think he’s getting involved with Marufuji tonight, they’ve got another thing coming. Carter will then tell them he’s out of here, but informs Marufuji that “both members of Team Impact are ready for Naomichi Marufuji...” As Carter goes to leave the ring, Marufuji will stop him, grabbing the microphone from him. Bemoaning the “unnecessary appointment” of James Storm as Guest Enforcer, Ethan Carter will say that it once again comes down to “Team Impact” to ensure that justice is served. Speaking apologetically, Dewey Barnes will tell Ethan that they won’t be able to help him tonight. Ethan Carter will lose his cool, demanding that his men do as they are told. Launching into a tirade, about what they will have to sacrifice to be in “Team Impact”, Carter will stop when Dewey and Norv gingerly make it to their feet. Norv will look Ethan in the eyes, repeating the sentiment “Ethan… the answer is no”. The two men will then hobble out of the room, leaving Carter to consider his next move.</div></blockquote> Returning to ringside, discussion of Carter’s “right hand men” being unable to help him will be used to segue into talk about Eli Drake and his recent decision to cut ties with his right hand man. This will be followed by the introduction of a video package about the break up of Chris Adonis and Eli Drake’s alliance. Video Package: Going back to the first show of the year, the accusing finger of Eli Drake - pointed towards Chris Adonis - will mark the start of the story. Having blamed Chris Adonis for his failure to recapture the Impact World Championship, Eli Drake turned his back on his right-hand man, with the help of his “old friend” Brian Cage. Showing the brutal assault that Cage administered to Adonis, footage from last week will see Eli Drake and Brian Cage blowing Chris Adonis off, as he looked for answers from Eli Drake. Adonis will then turn to the entrance way, saying “Eli Drake… you’re nothing but a coward!” Adonis will then say that he doesn’t give a damn about Brian Cage, because as far as he is concerned, this issue is between the two of them. Adonis will say that if Eli Drake has any balls whatsoever, he will come out and face the music. Behaving like alpha males in the wild, the two men will maintain eye contact throughout their time in the ring. Circling the canvas, the two men will battle for territory. Without a word being said, tension will boil over, and the two men will begin to brawl in the ring. Brian Cage will initially take control, but Chris Adonis will look to fight back. Directing traffic, Eli Drake will order for Adonis to be returned to his feet, allowing him to be set up for a “Gravy Train”. Crashing Gail Kim’s retirement speech, LAX threatened Gail and her husband, coerced her into agreeing to one final title defence. Believing the match to be against Diamante, Gail Kim prepared for action, only to confronted by the debuting Ivelisse Velez. A carefully laid out plan, Velez was prepared for Kim, and ruined the retirement plans by becoming the new Knockouts Champion. She will recap what happened two weeks ago, when Gail Kim was tricked and coerced into defending the Knockouts Championship that she was set to vacate. Allie will say that LAX’s actions were the most disrespectful thing she has ever seen in an Impact Wrestling ring. She will also say that she doesn’t blame Gail Kim for walking away, as the safety of her family had been put at risk, but add that she refuses to allow LAX to get away with it. Allie will say that there aren’t many people in the locker room willing to back her up, but she is going to fight for Gail Kim. She will add that when she earned her stripes in Impact Wrestling, she promised she would always fight for what she believed in. If she stands by and lets Ivelisse get away with what she did, then Allie says she couldn’t look herself in the mirror. Moose will then point all around the ring, saying that he feels the love of these people on a weekly basis, and there is nothing Konnan can do to change that. Moose will say that Konnan can believe all he likes that these people don’t care about him, because he knows for a fact that Konnan doesn’t have his interests at heart. On that note, Moose will turn to Johnny Impact, saying that nothing will stop him coming for Alberto El Patron. He will however wonder why Johnny called him out. He will then return to the ring. Standing behind Eddie Edwards, Ethan Carter will stalk his rival as he returns to his feet. Once Eddie makes it back up, Carter will force him back down with a One Percenter. Ethan Carter will then begin to feed off the control he has, behaving in a highly energised, frantic manner. Exiting the ring, he will head back towards James Storm, who will not have moved since being hit with the Championship. Grabbing Storm by the back of the neck, Ethan Carter will drag him back to his feet, clocking him with a stiff Forearm to the top of his spine. Ethan will then position him for a One Percenter. Driving Storm’s head into the ground on the outside of the ring, Ethan Carter will begin to smirk as he looks at his work. Picking his Grand Championship back up, Carter will walk half way up the ramp. Looking back over his shoulder, the smug Ethan Carter will drape his Championship over it. This will lead into highlighting the physical danger that speaking out has put her in, leading to last week’s match with Diamante. When Diamante looked to hit Allie with a Steel Chain during the match, Braxton Sutter made his return, saving his girlfriend from serious physical harm. He will mock talk of “loyalty” to the company, saying that James Storm threw away 15 years of good will when he destroyed “Team Impact”. Carter will then ask where Eddie Edwards’ loyalty was when he defended a Pro-Wrestling NOAH Championship, on an Impact Wrestling show, as a Pro-Wrestling NOAH representative against “Mr. NOAH” himself. Ethan Carter will then say that he can’t believe that there are still people who buy into the lies of the two most treacherous turncoats in the history of Impact Wrestling! In fact, he will add that they may just be the biggest backstabbers in the business - ever! However, Ethan Carter will agree with one thing, saying that it is about time that he defended his Grand Championship. But he will explain that he hasn’t been holding anything “hostage”, pointing out that he has been slightly distracted with the small issue of saving this company from the two men in the ring. Konnan will then put his knee of Moose’s neck, pushing his throat down into the rope. He will also holdi Moose’s face, so that he has to watch Alberto El Patron reign down on the injured arm of Johnny Impact. Alberto El Patron, who will remove his suit jacket, will then lock Johnny Impact in the Cross Armbreaker. Moose will be forced to watch as Johnny Impact screams out in pain, with the commentators making it clear that Johnny Impact’s injury will have be aggravated by the attack. Eventually, Alberto El Patron will release the hold, and Konnan will exit the ring - after asking Moose “is that what you want?”. Having had his throat held against the ropes, Moose will collapse to the canvas, as Johnny Impact is attended to be medical personnel on the outside.</div></blockquote> Reacting to what had just happened, the commentators will say that there was a lot to process right there. Still on jelly legs, Chris Adonis will have to be delivered to Drake by Cage, who helps him to lift him up. Eli Drake will then deliver his signature “Gravy Train” to Chris Adonis, laying him out once again in the middle of the ring. Eli Drake will gloat about his actions to the audience, before crouching beside the man he has just taken out. Grabbing Adonis’ face once again, Eli Drake will tell Chris Adonis “you are finished!” before throwing his head back down into the canvas. Standing tall in the middle of the ring, Eli Drake will once again raise the hand of Brian Cage, as the show goes off the air. Agreeing with Eli Drake’s recent comments, Josh Matthews will sign off the show, saying that “in the lawless landscape of Impact Wrestling, anything goes… and only the strong survive!”</div></blockquote>

Chris Adonis Inured; Could Miss The Rest of the Year

Given the heated nature of his rivalry with Eli Drake and Brian Cage, it is with regret that ImpactWrestling.com must today announce an injury to Chris Adonis, suffered during his match with Brian Cage on last week’s Impact Wrestling. Undeterred by developments, Chris Adonis has vowed to be back, but will miss up to 9 months of action after sustaining the injury. Assessed immediately after the match, it was later revealed that Chris Adonis had suffered a “full rupture of his Elbow MLC”.

Everybody at Impact Wrestling wishes Chris Adonis a healthy recovery, with assurances that his place on the roster will remain open for his eventual return to the Six Sided ring. For further updates, check out Impact Wrestling - this Thursday on Pop!

They will use this time to talk about the upcoming Number One Contendership match in tonight’s Main Event. Graphic: The commentators will talk over the graphic which will recap the rules of the Grand Championship. This will explain the round based system, while adding the new rules which state that if the Grand Champion is Disqualified or is defeated by Countout, they will lose the Championship. It will also be noted that anybody who gets involved in a Grand Championship match will suffer severe consequences, should they affect the outcome of the contest. Sutter will step up, telling Velez that if she believes that, then she doesn't deserve to be in this ring. Allie will say that if she came out here to reject the challenge again, then she’s wasting everybody’s time. Ivelisse Velez will come back at them, saying that just because she didn’t come out here for Allie, doesn’t mean she isn’t looking for a fight. Velez will then step up to Braxton Sutter, going nose to nose with him. Braxton will make it clear that he has no interest in fighting Velez, and will try instead to calm his girlfriend Allie down. When he turns back, asking Ivelisse “are you serious?”, he will be hit with a low blow by Diamante, who used the distraction to move out of Allie and Braxton’s view. They will add that the referee for the match will be the current Champion himself, Ethan Carter, introducing a video package of his issues with the two men in the match. Video Package: Footage will recap the rivalry between Ethan Carter and Edwards & Storm, which began after James Storm dissolved Team Impact after Bound For Glory. This resulted in Ethan Carter turning on the two men. Declaring them “enemies of Impact”, Ethan Carter made it his mission to remove them from the company. Eventually, James Storm will hit a “Last Call” Superkick, finding himself in a winning position, only for Ethan Carter to pull to same trick. </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> James Storm will get up and confront Ethan Carter, who will point to his black and white striped shirt, as Storm gets heated. While James will make no contact with Ethan Carter, he will continue to berate the Special Guest Referee. Eddie Edwards will then make it back to his feet, clearly rocked by the Superkick. Holding his jaw, Edwards will say to Ethan “are we going to go all night?” Ethan Carter will laugh at the competitors, gesturing for them to continue fighting. With the two men now face to face, confused by where they go next, Ethan Carter will clap his hands, demanding that they keep fighting. From shaking their heads, James Storm will nod to Eddie Edwards, who will knowingly nod back. Then, when Ethan Carter next shouts at the pair to keep the match going, Eddie Edwards and James Storm will hit him with simultaneous Superkicks, knocking the Special Guest Referee out. Having been at loggerheads recently, the two men appeared to be on the same page - united by their issues with Alberto El Patron, Konnan and LAX. </li><li>During the Main Event, Eddie Edwards went one on one with James Storm in a Number One Contendership match for the Grand Championship. Serving as the Special Guest Referee, Champion Ethan Carter screwed with the two contenders, a decision which was followed by Edwards and Storm hitting him with a Superkick. Throughout the match, the Pro-Wrestling NOAH representatives will continually look for a way back into the match, but will be undercut every step of the way. Eventually, they will begin to build momentum, only for Konnan to once again get involved. Marufuji will be annoyed by this, and when he goes to confront the leader of LAX, he will be rolled up. This will achieve a near fall, which LAX feel sure was a three.</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Arguing with the official, Homicide will climb on the ring apron to get his point across. Coming from the side, Katsuhiko Nakajima will Homicide with a Jumping High Kick, sending him crashing to the ground. From here, Marufuji & Nakajima will be given a fair chance, and will turn the match back in their favour. Thrown off by the lack of outside involvement, Ortiz & Santana will struggle to keep up with the Japanese duo and Ortiz will eventually find himself isolated. This will allow Marufuji & Nakajima to go in for the kill, with a Superkick from Naomichi Marufuji being followed immediately by a German Suplex from Katsuhiko Nakajima. The pair have drawn the ire of LAX after they stood up for Gail Kim, who the group had humiliated on her last night in Impact. When they reach the ring, Braxton Sutter will take a microphone. Showing no fear, Braxton will make a huge mistake in cutting in on LAX’s in-ring summit, but will be well aware of it. Sutter will ask the furious Konnan if he has his attention now, saying that he won’t be ignored by them anymore. He will say that if the ladies of LAX want to pick a fight with Allie, then the men of LAX have an issue with him. Konnan will be pissed off, but before he can go off on Braxton, Homicide will step up. Homicide will say that he doesn’t lace them up very often anymore, but he is willing to do it tonight to kick Braxton’s ass. Konnan will be unsure of this, but Braxton Sutter will be more than willing to fight Homicide. Sutter will be happy with this, fired up to get a chance against the Impact World Champion. This will result in Konnan calming Homicide down, and leading LAX out of the ring. Now stood in the ring alone, Allie will look at Braxton Sutter concerned, but he will assure her that he is ready for the challenge of Alberto El Patron. The commentators will make it clear that they respect the courage of Braxton Sutter, but point to the damage Alberto has done to the likes of Johnny Impact as evidence that Sutter is in for a tough night.</div></blockquote> After promoting the Main Event for tonight’s show, a match just made between Alberto El Patron and Braxton Sutter, the commentators will use talk about the fired up Braxton Sutter having a huge opportunity tonight, as a way to discuss another frustrated competitor - Garza Jr. He is currently looking to build momentum in the X Division. This will lead into footage from last week. Video Package: Footage will show the finish to the match between Garza Jr. and Trevor Lee, where the influence of Andrew Everett and Caleb Konley helped The B.T.C leader to victory. Homicide will do so, trash talking in the barely conscious Sutter's face before handing him to Ortiz & Santana for a "Street Sweeper". While he will hold his own, it will quickly become clear that it is only a matter of time before he succumbs to the 3-on-1 odds. It will be at this turning point, that the music of Moose will begin to play. Having had differences with Johnny Impact for the last few weeks, Moose will join him in the ring. <div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="N3labAa.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/N3labAa.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div> Together, Moose and Johnny Impact will fight back against LAX - managing to clear the ring of Ortiz, Santana & Homicide. With the three men reeling, Johnny Impact will hit Ortiz with a Superkick at the exact moment that Santana is hit with a Bicycle Kick which sends them both out of the ring. Seeing this, Homicide will voluntarily join them on the outside. Ordered by Konnan to back up, LAX will retreat, leaving Moose and Johnny Impact in the ring. While a Braxton checks on Allie on the outside, Johnny Impact will stand tall. Having seemingly put his distrust of Johnny Impact to one side, Moose will extend a hand to him. As Johnny accepts the handshake, the commentators will put over the fact that the two men have finally come together - united against LAX! The show will end with a shot of LAX in retreat, while Johnny Impact and Moose stand side by side in the ring.</div></blockquote>

The balance of the division seems slightly skewed.</div></blockquote> Depends how you look at it. To me, there are currently 6 knockouts positioned as credible competitors. We have Allie, Rosemary and if you want to count her as a face at this point, Taya Valkyrie. On the heel side there is Sienna, Ivelisse Velez and Diamante. Other than those, the rest are just jobbers or side characters at the minute. The issue is probably with the lack of credible names in the division full stop. You're correct that we are lacking heels, but there aren't enough on either side really.
