Before I head to bed, roster thoughts for La Liga

Roster

Dragon Lee II (As Dragon Lee)

La Sombra

Caristico

Rey Mysterio

John Hennigan

Chris Jericho (as Corazón de León)

Volador Jr

Penta El Zero M (as Pentagon Jr)

Dragon Lee (as Mistico)

Máscara Dorada

Charlotte (as La Reina)

The Rock

Cody Rhodes (as Stardust)

Kento Miyahara

El Texano Jr

Katsuyori Shibata

Ayako Hamada

Niebla Roja

Rush

Maya Yukihi

El Santo Jr

DDT Universe (as La Liga Universe)

Bayley

Último Guerrero

The picture is starting to take shape. Tried to grab the top luchadors and then supplement with some outside talent. All the outside talent has big-time personality/charisma and should be able to mesh into the "larger than life" type style of lucha libre well (save for Shibata, whose absence of a gimmick is a gimmick unto itself).

Finding DDT Universe as I was starting to map out my broadcast deals while browsing in-game broadcasters was a nice surprise.

The Rock and Charlotte were technically the top male and female on my draft board who I thought i had exactly 0% chance of getting when the draft began, so those were a nice surprise. Only "misses" on big-time guys I was targeting were Sami Zayn (as El Generico) and Daniel Bryan (as American Dragon) as they would of meshed nicely with the lucha scene. Flamita, Kalisto, Ricochet, and Fenix fall into the tier just below of guys I wish I would of nabbed.

All-in-all, a very good start and I have a ton of PPA picks to supplement any of the holes in the boat as we move into those rounds. I tried to stay away from the Japanese scene as much as possible as I always seem to lean heavy there, but couldn't pass up my favorite non-WWE wrestler in Kento Miyahara when he was still hanging around in the early teens.

Alright, off to bed for the night. Here is my shortlist:

1) Shawn Michaels (Owner/Booker/Road Agent)

2) Charles Robinson

3) OI4K (Dave Crist & Jake Crist)

4) Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch

5) Andrew Everett & Trevor Lee

If one member of a team is already taken, don't pick the other guy. Just move down to the next team on the shortlist.

<p>WWA Japan</p><p> </p><p>

So I had a great draft. There are 9 people who are Stars or above in Japan two of those are over 50. Of the remaining 7 I got 4 Lesnar, Okada, Naito & Tanahashi. Dr A's chaikara got 2 and AJ went to Tier 1. With people who are draws and 40 or under there are 12 more people I got KENTA, YAMOTO, Takagi, Doi, Balor & Takeshita. Of the other 6 one is a Road Agent, Bryan Danielson went to ROH, CM Punk to dINGO, Rollins went to LQW, 2 guys went to Chiakara KUSHIDA, southside went Shibata but Shibata recently nearly died and his head health is in the 50's as a result meaning he has to be nursed carefully to avoid injury. That means that I am almost untouchable in Japan Battle wise.</p><p> </p><p>

With my picks 11 onwards I needed a few women (ideally foreigners), some young guys for my future and some solid talent to back up my stellar top 10. I almost couldn't have dreamed what I ended up with.</p><p> </p><p>

I got 4 guys who are Main eventing in the real world CIMA, Alberto (Dos Caras Jr), EC3 and Jinder. Now Jinder may be marginal there but his solid skills and good SQ mean he's a worthwhile pick. All those guys are effectively mid-carders for me.</p><p> </p><p>

I got 2 young guys with really good SQ Rougeau & Peter Dunne who are 24 and I got Conor McGregor & Sanada who are 29 - all of whom can be brought up to a pretty high level with good management.</p><p> </p><p>

My lower guys are pretty strong Mikey Nichols, Dean Brady, Travis Banks, Robbie Eagles & Katsuhiko Nakajima are all pretty good workers and all are between 21 and 32 meaning they have a fair few years left in them.</p><p> </p><p>

Women wise I got 5 - 2 good workers in Cheerleader Melissa & Madison Eagles. One who is going to be in Ronda Rousey and two eye candy workers who actually have pretty solid bases to work from Taryn Terrell & Barbie Blank (both have great sex Appeal but also decent basics like athleticism allowing them to not be horrible when placed with a good worker). </p><p> </p><p>

I got the best Japanese announcer stats wise in Daisuke Sugaya, Josh Barnett who can wrestle and do colour, a good ref in Marty Asmai and a Road Agent with 100 Psych who does that role in New Japan now.</p><p> </p><p>

Not everything went right. Dr A took Great Sasuke literally the pick before I was going too for exactly the same role. I went back to plan B which was Madison Eagles (who in real life owns PWWA) as Owner Booker.</p><p> </p><p>

Dr A was able to wrangle that trade with southside that allowed him to get both Omega and Nakamura. Realistically had I made the same deal I would have had Omega but would likely to have lost out on Naito and Tanahashi so it's probably for the best.</p><p> </p><p>

My biggest fail was media. WWE Network went to DINGO, Dr A took NJPW but I had a fallback which was DDT which I thought nobody would take because it's Japanese centric. Sothside obviously decided he could upgrade Mexico using it though. I was forced to my 4th choice TV Asahi which has really good coverage in Japan and High Patience and a Very Pro stance with a tiny subscription service to try to get a foothold elsewhere.</p><p> </p><p>

Post the draft when the data goes live I will go on my standard buying spree - there will be plenty of Joshi girls to fill up my female ranks an some good vets and young lions to pad out my roster.</p>

<p>With the draft almost over (only ppa stuff left), its time again for some feedback.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><strong>

- What was your goal in drafting your roster?</strong></p><p>

First i wanted to go to Japan and draft a puro based promotion. After i noticed that nobody did an australian promotion, i took the challenge. I set myself the limitation to draft only workers which are in the database eglible to work in australia. </p><p>

</p><p><strong>

- What pick were you most excited about?</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong>CM Punk as figurehead is amazing. I dont really like him, but with his starpower he is able to carry the promotion.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- Are there any picks you regret?</strong></p><p>

No.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What were some of your favorite picks made by other players?</strong></p><p>

Destiny - Kevin Owens. I love that dude.</p><p>

Alpha - Naruki Doi. So sad that Alpha got him literally 1 round before me.</p><p>

Mike - Undisputed Era. Gettin them was really nice.</p><p>

Hitmen - BREAK THE WALLS DOWN!</p><p>

Avalanche - Bray Wyatt. I wonder what´s his role in Avalanche´s promotion.</p><p>

NoLeg - The Miz. I watched some promos of him recently. AWESOME!</p><p>

Diamond - Cryme Time! <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Kijar - Neville. He was mine! Same as Doi! Sometimes i hate drafts;)</p><p>

Uncrewed - TENZAN! FREAKIN TENZAN!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What were some picks made that puzzled you?</strong></p><p>

Really amazing drafting by everyone. Dolph Ziggler as first round draft got me a little puzzled. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- How do you see your promotion unfolding once you're able to play it?</strong></p><p>

As always i will do a watcher save first. I really enjoy watching the AI (with all it flaws) let battle it out. After that i will try to book DINGO and probably have a hard time. But its ok, i enjoyed the challenge.</p>

I'm so irritated at some of the ideas I had that I completely forgot to draft. Elgin, Bailey, English, TenKoji and some others were all meant to be top 15-20 picks for me and I completely forgot to grab them, my initial plan being to team Aiden English with Elias Samson. Ive realised I have a bit of a lack of Star Power so I'm glad I'm on my own in Canada. I'm also a little annoyed that I missed out on so many top Canadians. Omega I understand, Owens im annoyed about because of the location, Jericho was only because I didn't know if I could take him and I didn't get an answer in time, And a few others I shouldn't have let slide. At the top of the card when I missed a few picks I just took WWE guys to get in the game and get some free pop, But now I'm looking at the shape of my roster and I'm struggling to see where the likes of Braun, Dean and a few others fit in, and it's surprising me that nobody is willing to trade for them

<p><strong>- What was your goal in drafting your roster?</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p><p>

I mean, the idea was pretty simple. Draft the talent that would be best suited to realize CHIKARA in a Japanese setting. That meant high flyers and good talkers. Japan has plenty of the former, less so of the latter. I also wanted some good comedy acts, some masked wrestlers and big characters in general, because lucha. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What pick were you most excited about?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

All the top four names in Japan would have been good, but Omega and Nakamura, as good talkers were particularly suited to my product. Also, that I got the complete Threedom of Shirai, Iwatani and Hojo makes me excited about my trios division. Bray Wyatt was the weird pick, but if he lasts until the 13th round, he goes to Japan for an intensive language class. He's the best talker in the company who I unfortunately can't use in that role for probably the first year or so.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- Are there any picks you regret?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

I whiffed a bit on Will Ospreay. I don't regret having him, but I didn't look too closely what other names might go immediately afterwards and missed out on Shingo Takagi and Naruki Doi which should have been higher on my draft list.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What were some of your favorite picks made by other players?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Destiny - KO is solid.</p><p>

Alpha - We fought for largely the same people, so there were many nabbed right before my eyes. Shingo Takagi and Naruki Doi went right before I was going to take them. CIMA and Katsuhiko Nakajima were also picked right as I was about to do it.</p><p>

Mike - I'm amused by the CHIKARA picks. I want to see Braun Strowman vs Space Monkey now. Otherwise I think Keith Lee and Luke Harper were very nice picks that late in the draft.</p><p>

Hitmen - Pentagon Jr went 1st round (or 2nd?) last time I think. Getting him round 8 was a steal.</p><p>

NoLeg - I think identifying that Ishii had fallen far in the draft was astute. Rusev in round 6 seems like a steal.</p><p>

Tardelli - CM Punk can anchor a company on his own. </p><p>

Diamond - Samoa Joe and Daniel Bryan. God I want to see that match.</p><p>

Kijar - Tardelli wasn't the only one waiting for Neville to fall to his turn. Also: Masato Yoshino.</p><p>

Uncrewed - Sho and Yoh. Gulak and Neese. Young Bucks. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What were some picks made that puzzled you?</strong></p><p>

mikemanwba picking up Jervis Cottonbelly surprised me. What people do with a 32nd round pick I can't question, I'm just curious how he fits in with the rest of the roster. Tardelli's pick of the WWE Network in the first round was interesting. I thought it was a bit of a stretch, but maybe the options in the first round when it came to talent that could work in Australia wasn't great? It's certainly a useful thing to have.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- How do you see your promotion unfolding once you're able to play it?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

I see my company as the DDT to alpha's NJPW. We're hardly going to rule the world, but it's going to be flippy and fun and weird. Hopefully we can survive comfortably as the number 2.</p>

<p><strong>- What was your goal in drafting your roster?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

I'd never gone Japan before so I was intent on drafting the best Japanese fed I could - basically a more entertainment based NJPW. Getting the highest pop guys available to Japan as I could in the 1st 10 rounds then drafting any stars that had fallen past the first 10 rounds, young guys with high SQ for my future, a few foreign women and then staff and a few solid in ring guys to pad my roster</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What pick were you most excited about?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Obviously drawing slot 2 meant I got Okada who I've never had a chance to build around before.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- Are there any picks you regret?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Travis Banks & Mikey Nichols in 2nd 20 & 21. At that pont I wasn't sure who to go for and went off my board. I decided not to go for DDT World because I thought nobody would pick it up and then southside did in rnd 22. That will teach me to never assume when dealing with clever people. </p><p> </p><p>

Taryn Terrell & Barbie Blank 24 & 25. I wanted girls but could have taken Stu Bennett (Wade Barrett who was on my board), Alexa Bliss, TK Cooper or Great Sasuke who I wanted as Owner Booker. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What were some of your favorite picks made by other players?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Destiny</strong> - Stu Bennett (Wade Barrett) rnd 24. That's a quality pick so late for a British fed. Following up with Alexa Bliss rnd 25.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>mikemanwba</strong> - his rnd 14 through 16 of Sabre, Bate & Jay White was fantastic - 3 guys I had on my board who can all go in the ring and are a good base for the future.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>southside</strong> - DDT World - curse you Dr A you clever bastisch! Rnds 1 through 14 - Charlotte, The Rock & Cody Rhodes in a Lucha fed could be amazing or a car crash.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dr A</strong>. That trade to get the number 4 pick. I didn't realise southside would go for that deal I would have pulled that trigger. He then used that to get Omega followed by Nakamura with the 5th pick. Great Sasuke rnd 29. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nolegs</strong> - The Miz in rnd 4. That guy deserves love. Ringkampf in rnds 12 & 13.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Tardelli</strong> - The WWE Network rnd 1. It doesn't cost that much to upgrade in Australia and with good finances that means his fed will likely flourish. The Basso's rnd 24 & 25. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kijar</strong> - Seth Freakin Rollins to build around. Austin Aries & Petey Williams rnd 22 & 23.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>DiamondKnucklez</strong> - Cryme Tyme with picks 16 & 17 </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Uncrewed</strong> - Geez the whole concept. The picks make sense all the way down.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What were some picks made that puzzled you?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Destiny</strong> - Kevin Owens number 1</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>mikemanwba </strong>- Dean Ambrose 3rd rnd if he didn't really want him.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>southside</strong> - Shibata for a Lucha fed with his head injury.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dr A</strong> - Io Shirai that early. It was pretty obvious what I was going for and Takashita, Tagaki & Doi would have made more sense.</p><p>

</p><p><strong>

nolegsgaming</strong> - Matt Riddle that early.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Tardelli </strong>- Not securing Dean Brady an going for Brad Smyth instead.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kijar</strong> - No real misses - he had a concept and drafted accordingly. Maybe not getting Osprey.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>diamonknuckelz</strong> - Dolph Ziggler 1st round</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Uncrewed </strong>- Not taking Big E with his 1st pick & Kofi 2nd. To me if you are going all tag teams you secure New Day 1st (Xavier Woods could have been picked up a little later) as they give you a much needed pop boost. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- How do you see your promotion unfolding once you're able to play it?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Buy some vets and Joshi girls as well as Bullet Clubs Tongans. Dominate Japan and build up cash. Poach a few prize recruits when their contracts expire. Expand into Europein that order when the money comes available. See which area falters or looks like I can win a battle before expanding elsewhere. Global domination BWAH HA HA HA!</p>

Grab the top luchadors, and supplement with outside talent with great character work</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What pick were you most excited about?</strong></p><p>

Jericho, Charlotte, and The Rock</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- Are there any picks you regret?</strong></p><p>

Ayako Hamada that early, but was hedging against Dr_A and I needed a stud female worker</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What were some of your favorite picks made by other players?</strong></p><p>

Destiny: The Revival, Asuka, Alexa Bliss in Round 25</p><p>

alpha2117: KENTA in round 7, Lesnar anywhere, and Nakajima round 23 feels like a steal</p><p>

mikemanwba: Tyler Bate, Killer Elite Squad, plenty of hosses. RVD</p><p>

Dr_Avalanche: Omega, Nakamura, Marafuji, and Ibushi in the first 4 picks. Io Shirai. Ok, fine, the whole roster is pretty great.</p><p>

NoLegsGaming: Had the strongest first 4 picks in whole draft by my eye. Hard to beat AJ, Cena, Orton, Miz as your top 4 (alpha may challenge it with his top 4 in Japan) in terms of game mechanics. High pop, High national battle scores from Orton and Cena with Miz/Cena talking them into the building and AJ tearing the house down</p><p>

Tardelli: Punk and Cesaro feel like they should of went a round earlier than he was able to nab them, so great value. WWE Network is a stroke of genius in round 1 as it allows him to grow globally</p><p>

Kijar: Ricochet, MCMG, Fenix and Angelico</p><p>

Diamond: Samoa Joe and Daniel Bryan. Too bad he was kidnapped by aliens.</p><p>

Uncrewed: American Alpha, #DIY, World's Greatest Tag Team, London/Kendrick. The only tag-team concept was great and one I kicked around doing myself. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What were some picks made that puzzled you?</strong></p><p>

Destiny: Heath Slater an Rhyno so early</p><p>

alpha2117: only 1 of TMDK</p><p>

mikemanwba: Eric Young early</p><p>

Dr_Avalanche: Honestly can't find one</p><p>

NoLegs: Matt Riddle that early</p><p>

Tardelli: Jeff Jarrett, just not a fan of him</p><p>

Kijar: Mustafa Ali that early</p><p>

Diamond: Gallows/Anderson that early</p><p>

Uncrewed: Gulak and Neese feels early</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- How do you see your promotion unfolding once you're able to play it?</strong></p><p>

I kind of fell into a global approach that I didn't intend on starting, but using the pop of The Rock and others to try and takeover the world! My "investments" in DDT Universe, Chikaratopia, and wXw NOW give me 33.5 million in value that I don't have to spend to expand globally. Leech pop from El Hijo del Santo and other older Luchadors, with the goal of Dragon Lee II becoming figurehead and some point in the near future</p>

<p><strong>- What was your goal in drafting your roster?</strong></p><p>

To draft the best tag teams in the world and bring them under one roof.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What pick were you most excited about?</strong></p><p>

Roppongi 3K, I love Sho Tanaka & Yohei Komatsu.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- Are there any picks you regret?</strong></p><p>

Maybe picking Gulak & Nese so early, but I love Gulak, so it balances out.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What were some of your favorite picks made by other players?</strong> </p><p>

Destiny drafting The Revival (CURSES!!!!)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- What were some picks made that puzzled you?</strong></p><p>

alpha only drafting Mikey Nicholls. I really don't notice a difference between him and Shane Haste.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>- How do you see your promotion unfolding once you're able to play it?</strong></p><p>

I think it'll be very fun. I've got two tag belts, one for the main event guys and the other for everyone else. I know that we'll probably start with low popularity, but with our talent, we should be getting out of that hole relatively quickly.</p>
