The Journal Of: Eric Bischoff

Recommended Posts

To preface this dynasty, I'm doing things a bit different. I have been running a 1998 mod as WCW. It is now Week 2, May 2000. The game began very rocky and I eventually gained the #1 company. The WWF came back and took over that spot but within the last month I was able to reclaim the top spot.

Business had never been better. I was making a multi-million dollar surplus each month, ratings were high, talent morale was at a peak, and plans were laid out. Things seemed at an all-time high for WCW. But then events occurred to drastically change things. My user character (Eric Bischoff) developed a hatred relationship with WCW's owner, Ted Turner. What happened? Well, that's all about to be laid out for you.

To give a run-down of what's transpired over the last nearly two years;

- Bill Goldberg is the current 3 time World Champion

- Lance Storm is the US Champion

- AJ Styles is the TV champion

- Rick Rude came out of retirement and held the World title for a period of time

- Scott Steiner held the World title from December 1998 - February 1999

- Chris Jericho is the highest paid worker in WCW.

You all are about to get a close look into the thoughts of Eric Bischoff and the events that have led up to this dynasty beginning nearly two years after the start of the game.

After everything I've done for this company....

Ted Turner wanted me to be the one to turn it around. I brought WCW out of the dingy, smoke filled bingo halls to selling out arenas world wide. I made everything work. I've re-established WCW to be the main wrestling organization again. I had my work cut out for me two years ago. I brought the sinking ship afloat again.

He wanted me to push Stevie Ray.

- Done.

He wanted me to push La Parka.

- Done.

He wanted record profits.

- Done.

Most people said that I had it made, that my job was easy. All I had to do was book three shows a week. Two of the shows didn't even matter. All that mattered was that Nitro was a success. WCW was the company of the year for 1999. Turner wanted to make it sound like he wanted to win at all costs.....Then he pulled a move like this....

He's done nothing but stacked the deck on me. I made Bill Goldberg the world heavyweight champion for the third time. He was on a roll. For months Ted and I talked about making Goldberg the new figurehead of the company.

We had to face facts, Hulk Hogan was aging. His skills were diminishing and the fans were beginning to see his star power decline. A change had to be made. Chris Jericho had been pegged as the replacement, but he wasn't increasing the way we hoped. Then we thought about Booker T, but he wasn't so young anymore either. Not only that, but it seemed like his popularity had capped. Scott Steiner and Sting were also too old to make our new company face. We had some great prospects in our developmental system but they were nowhere ready yet.

The only logical choice was Goldberg. This man has an ungodly following.

PWI came out with their end of the year awards and named Goldberg the second most popular wrestler in the world. The world. Steve Austin was the only guy ahead of him.

So Goldberg comes up for contract negotiations and I know without a doubt Vince McMahon is going to be calling him and setting up a meeting. Goldberg came to me last week and told me just that - Vince McMahon reached out to him. I asked Bill what he was going to do? After all, Bill and I had become close over the last year and a half. After an unfortunate incident regarding him, he told me that he felt a level of gratitude that couldn't be repaid.

I knew that Vince was going to throw a bunch of money at him. I knew that I would be able to at least match him, not to mention I felt that Goldberg's loyalty would play a role.

I thought Goldberg would look at some of the other guys. Over the last almost two years, I was working hard at redeeming the reputation of several workers. Bam Bam Bigelow and Vader are two examples. I made Vader relevant again after a dismal run with the WWF. How was I repaid? Vader left me and went back to the WWF just so they could do nothing with him. Meng was another worker that I busted my ass on to make something of. When the time came, he also jumped ship and now look at him.....He's not even on most shows.

I figured Goldberg would look at the guys who went to the WWF and he would realize he would have much greener pastures in WCW. Hell, he even told he himself. All I had to do was present the contract to him.

So what happened? I had the WCW legal office type up my proposed contract renewal for Bill. As always, once I looked it over to make sure everything was correct, I faxed it over to Ted Turner. He sent it back to me not even 10 minutes later with "REFUSE" written on it. I immediately called him.

"What's this all about", I asked him.

"It's too much money! I'm not going to go more than $75,200", Ted said.

I said, "Are you insane??? If the fact he's considered the second most popular wrestler in the world isn't enough, he's our world champion. It's imperative that we keep him on! He's making nearly $68,000 as it is, that's hardly an increase!"

"You'll find a way to make it work, Eric." Was his response....

That wasn't even getting into the other finer details of the contract. What was I left to do??? I could offer Goldberg more years. I could offer him more percentage of shows and Pay Per Views. Ted even capped me at a signing bonus that was much less than what the WWF was offering. So I put the contract together and did what I could. I sent it to legal who did nothing but edit what I had already done, so I got it back quickly. I had to send this to Bill, but I didn't want to. He had already left me a message asking if I was sending the contract. He already got one from the WWF and was waiting on mine. I had to send it....

I put it in the fax machine and pressed "Send." I felt a wave of embarrassment flush over me. This was completely ridiculous. Ted felt the importance of pushing Stevie Ray and La Parka. He wanted me to push Psychosis. The only half way decent one was that he wanted me to push Kanyon, but he's been off in rehab most of the time. I managed to get La Parka pushed to his liking but not Stevie Ray. Despite a run with the TV title, there was only so much I could do for him. Turner was furious about that one. Maybe that's why he limited me so much with Bill, he wanted me to fail.

I just stood, looking at the fax machine as it completed its send. My phone rang 15 minutes later. Yep, it was Bill. I let it ring several times before answering. I just held my head in my hands as I put it on speaker phone.

Eric, I got the contract, but I think it's mis-typed.

I wish it were. "No, Bill, that's the right one. Trust me, I wish it were typed wrong also. Ted has limited me on what I can offer you. I know the WWF's offering you more, but I'm offering you more years and more cut of the shows. That's a larger cut than anyone's making, even Hogan."

We both knew I was grasping at straws.

"Man....I'm surprised, Eric. I mean, I'm the champion. Ted really wants to risk me leaving?? This contract is a joke, to put it bluntly."

I didn't disagree with him, but I couldn't outright tell him that. I had to do my best to sell the contract.

Look, Bill, I know you've got a good offer from Vince, but hear me out. Look at what they're doing with the guys that've left WCW. Look at what I managed to do with them. Half the time, they aren't even on the shows. They're put in matches that make no sense. Austin's their top worker and he's barely involved. You won't get used over there."

He thought for a moment. Yeah, well to be honest Eric, I could use a lesser schedule. They're offering me a ton of money then if I were to just sit at home half the time."

This was not going the direction I wanted it to be going in.

Bill, I get where you're coming from, but how willing would Vince be to forgive? I stood by your side awhile back, remember? I'm not trying to throw that in your face, but I proved to you that I'll do the right thing."

There was a long pause....

I know you did Eric, and I've never questioned you after that. I told you that I was more appreciative than I could ever demonstrate. I'll keep that in mind, Eric. I know everything you've done for me. I'll think about this and let you know what I decide, but I'll be honest, I'm really considering both options. I just want to be up front with you."

"Alright Bill, I can't ask for more than that."

I barely slept that night. I still had Thunder and Saturday Night to book. I just threw something together for Thunder, enough to get by. By the time Saturday Night came around, I just had no patience for it. I told Arn (Anderson) to put the card together and I'd look over it. It was good enough. Tuesday was the last I spoke to Bill, then he finally called me Sunday.

Eric, I just wanted you to be the first to hear.....

I'm taking the WWF deal."

Shit. Shit. Shit. I couldn't think anything else. I couldn't say anything else.

No hard feelings Eric, I know you tried, but it just makes more sense for me to take their deal, especially with some odd decisions you're basically being forced to make lately. Thanks for everything, and I'll still be available to be used for the next couple of weeks. We can figure out a way to get the title off of me. I'll be willing to work with you on it."

Truth is, I didn't blame Bill. I wasn't mad at him. I was furious. Not with Bill, but with Turner. How could he blatantly do that? Was he trying to sabotage his own company? That's the only thing I could think of. He's letting the second biggest name in the world leave, just like that. No fight. I couldn't even counter offer. I immediately called Ted.

Eric!!! Well tell me the good news, Bill signed his deal??"

"Are you delusional??", I asked him (rhetorically).

"He took the WWF deal, Ted. Who could blame him? Our deal was a joke and you should have known he was never going to accept it. I've done nothing but make this company successful again. We finally have a great roster of guys who are busting their ass, and what for? Just so when contracts come around, you'll let them leave and go to the WWF? I can't be successful with a revolving door, Ted. I'm done. If you want to run your company like this, fine, but I'm not going to be a part of it anymore."

I hung up the phone before he even had a chance to respond. Five minutes later, I faxed this;

Effective immediately, I hearby resign my position of Head of Talen Relations, Executive Vice President of WCW.

Sincerely,

Eric Bischoff

I just hope to God I'm making the right decision.....

He's invaluable to help this younger talent put together matches. I just hope he can stay clean. He had some issues with that. This matchup proves to be a bit more hard hitting than the opening bout. The crowd were getting into it a bit more, especially after a huge sitout powerbomb from Shelton Benjamin onto Samoa Joe. Joe landed hard but was able to kick out at the last second. Joe was able to catch Benjamin with a dragon sleeper, and he quickly tapped out.</p><p> <strong>Winner by Submission: Samoa Joe</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><strong>Rating: E-</strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> <em><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0000FF;">Interview:</span></span></em></p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Curt%20Hennig20_zpsxashytxi.jpg</span></p><p> Curt Hennig appears in the ring but prior to the championship match,</p><p> he grabs a microphone. The crowd is interested to hear what he has to say.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#A0522D;">There's a lot of people who want to know why Curt Hennig's now in the NWA! Well the fact of the matter is, I've been successful everywhere I've gone, the AWA, WWF, WCW...We'll I'm going to continue being successful right here in the NWA! Eric Bischoff called me up a few days ago and said he was starting a new business venture and he wanted me to be the center of it. Well who in their right mind could say no to that?!</span></p><p><span style="color:#A0522D;"> I've got one thing to say, and that's that it's about time someone decides to put wrestling as a focal point, and tonight against Billy Two Eagles, he better hope that he can keep up with someone as perfect as me! Two Eagles looked well past his prime and even Hennig's excellence had trouble getting good spots out of him. Two Eagles came back with a brief resurgence until a poke to the eyes derailed it. Two Eagles staggered around a bit before turning right into a Hennig-Plex, which was executed perfectly. NWA National Title:

Randy Orton vs CM Punk vs Samoa Joe vs Jamie Noble

Punk seems like the type to need a more lengthy run to develop his character before moving onto the title (and then the things he can do as champion). Orton is very vanilla at this early stage of his career. Noble is tainted by his association in the low ranks of WCW. Joe has the size and presence to pull this off.

Chase Stevens vs Wifebeater

Pick 'em, but Stevens has a proper name and neither has any real cache. An opportunity perhaps for a more notable presence to beat down both men?

Shelton Benjamin vs Abyss

Contrasting styles, but people are more likely to buy Abyss as the winner at this point until Benjamin's character has developed further.

Now as much as it might pain some of you to hear,</p><p> it won't be a regular occurrence of me coming out here. I know, I know....You people.....You people love me, and I love you, but the fact is that there's a ton of talent back there that would be better off being showcased to you than I would be. However, tonight...Tonight there's a special occasion. I told everyone last week that there was going to be a big focus on women's wrestling. I'm not going to continue down the path of some other companies that only showcase their looks. While it's true that there are many gorgeous women out there, it's even more true that many of those same women are extremely talented in the ring. Right now, let me introduce you all to the very first female wrestler that I signed, and her name is <strong>Trish Stratus!</strong></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/Trish%20Stratus_zpscqsdmszs.jpg</span></p><p> -<em><span style="font-family:Verdana;">Some generic music begins playing and out walks a beautiful blond haired woman named Trish Stratus. She takes her spot next to Bischoff</span></em></p><p> </p><p> Ms. Stratus, I welcome you to the NWA as the very first female on our roster. Without a doubt, there's going to be many more to join you,</p><p> so you've got your work cut out for you. I'm going to give you the floor,</p><p> and I want you to tell all these fans in this arena and those at home just what you plan on bringing to the NWA and what you plan on doing for women's wrestling!</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#800080;">Thank you, Mr. Bischoff! To all of you fans who aren't familiar with me, my name's Trish Stratus! I may look innocent, but when I get in this ring, I'm anything but! All those guys in the back, they're gonna have to step up their game because there's going to be some new action around here and all the ladies are going to prove that we're more than just pretty faces! I don't know who else is going to be here or who else I'm going to have to face, but bring on the challenge because you're all looking at the next NWA Women's Champion!</span></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><strong>Rating: D+</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <em><span style="color:#000000;">- Keneley and Heenan take a moment to talk about Trish's focused, yet pretty generic promo and all of the possibilities that a women's division can bring to the NWA. Not only that, but it is my honor and privilege to be the one tonight to present Mr. Hennig with the championship he won last week right here on our premiere show. So without further adieu, Mr. Hennig, I now present you as the <strong>NEW</strong> NWA World's Champion!</p><p> </p><p> <em>The crowd mostly boo's Curt Hennig but there are a few stragglers who are cheering. Bischoff straps the world belt around the waist of Hennig. He takes the mic and again shakes Bischoff's hand before Bischoff exits the ring.</em></p><p> </p><p> Thank you everyone and the first person I want to specifically thank is you,</p><p> Mr. Bischoff! Without you and without your support, I wouldn't be here right now and I certainly wouldn't be standing here with the most prestigious world heavyweight title around my waist! I've worked hard over the years and have never been given the opportunity to lead a company until now and it's your vision, Mr. Bischoff, that I hope to carry on and bring this company to unforeseen heights!</p><p> </p><p> You could say that throughout my career I've been compared to being....Well, perfect...Hahaha...I understand that there's going to be all kinds of talent coming after me from not only the United States, but all over the world! Well none of those people can hold a candle to my talent and my abilities! The fact that I haven't held a world championship until now is a complete atrocity! Well starting here and now that's all behind me because I'm doing nothing and looking ahead and to the future, and there's not one person that can take this title off of me!</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family:Verdana;"><em>- At about that time, some unfamiliar music begins to play. Being a new company, fans are going to have to get accustomed to new faces and new music. After a few moments and much to Curt Hennig's displeasure;</em></span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/Bryan%20Danielson%202k_zpsaxv5ao1j.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="color:#0000FF;">Keneley: It's Bryan Danielson!</span></span></p><p> </p><p> Now hold on, hold on just a minute!!! If I wanted some fan boy to come out here and interrupt my championship celebration, I'd have asked for it! I said all autographs would be signed in the back! I don't need some punk kid coming out here and interrupting! I'll tell you another thing, kid, you've got a hell of a lot more dues to pay before you ever get the privilege of competing against someone of my caliber in the ring!</p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/Bryan%20Danielson%202k_zpsaxv5ao1j.jpg</span></p><p> Well let me tell you something, Curt! If you want to talk about the future, if you want to talk about talent, if you want to talk about ability, then you don't need to be talking about yourself! Because if you ask me, while you at one point were on top of the world in those categories, there's been just a few people that've passed you by on that list, and I'm one of them!! The future is standing right here on this ramp! The future who's going to take the NWA into a successful organization is standing right here on this ramp! If you want me to pay my dues, Curt, by all means, please do what you can to make me earn them! I'm not asking for a handout. I'm not asking for charity! I'll earn my place and when the time comes, I'm going to take that title away from you!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><strong>Rating: D+</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Wifebeater_zpsom4uvrfm.jpg</span> vs <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Chase%20Stevens_zpskf61nc02.jpg</span></p><p> <em>The next bout is with two relatively unknowns. This proved to be a quick paced, high flying matchup. Stevens picked up the win after hitting what the audience was told is called the Chaser Shot, which is a lifting DDT variety. After the match, Stevens seemed to be favoring his left elbow.</em></p><p> <strong>Winner by pinfall: Chase Stevens</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><strong>Rating: E</strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">NWA National Title:</span></strong></span></p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/nwanational_zpsw7eccp0h.jpg</span></p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/CM%20Punk%20Rookie_zpsmuza7wym.jpg</span> vs <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Samoa%20Joe%202k2_zpsaqchphu5.jpg</span> vs <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Randy%20Orton%200_zpswkz4x0th.jpg</span> vs <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Jamie%20Noble_zpspqzdnjj4.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> This weeks main event features the highly anticipated title bout to crown the NWA National champion. Todd Keneley informs fans at home that while Curt Hennig is the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, he will be defending that title all throughout the NWA. He goes on to say that Hennig will have a title bout this very week in his first title defense against Ray Gonzalez at WWC's monthly event.</p><p> </p><p> Samoa Joe entered the ring with a heavily taped right knee. Keneley reminds everyone of the injury suffered last week in his match against Shelton Benjamin which was in a variety of reports. Luckily for Joe, a match with multiple competitors should make it easier for him to not carry as much of the load. The clear one in control during this match was Jamie Noble.</p><p> Noble used the advantage of his experience in larger companies and he clearly shone above the rest as far as his crispness in the ring.</p><p> </p><p> The majority of the match, Orton paired off against Noble and Joe paired off against Punk. All competitors used their quickness to their advantage and several high flying moves were used. One spot featured Orton, Joe,</p><p> and Noble outside the ring. Punk catapulted himself over the top rope,</p><p> somersaulting onto the men on the floor below. The car crash went back into the ring with Joe and Punk. Noble attempted to get back into the ring but Orton grabbed his foot and pulled him back outside where they continued to brawl, sending one another into the guardrail, choking each other with TV cables, bouncing each others heads off the announce table, and even missing a few chair shots.</p><p> </p><p> Joe and Punk squared off in the ring. Punk seemed to take control of the match and had Joe reeling. Punk focused on the injured knee of Samoa Joe, who by this point in the match was visibly favoring his knee. Punk sent Joe into the corner and followed after him. Just as it looked like Punk would hit a running clothesline, Joe caught him and lifted him up in the air before slamming him down hard onto the mat. Joe bent over in pain as Punk was attempting to get back onto his feet. Just as he did, Joe caught him from behind and locked in a submission move that he calls the Dragon Clutch, which is a modified chicken wing. Joe dropped to the mat with the hold firmly in place and wrapped his legs around the waist of Punk.</p><p> </p><p> Punk struggled in the move and was hoping for someone to run in to break the hold up, but Noble and Orton were busy brawling away with each other outside and never noticed. Punk tried his hardest to get to the rope but it wasn't even close. When the pain got too great, Punk had no choice but to start tapping! The bell rang and Orton and Noble, who now realized the match was over, become furious. Orton stands with a shocked look on his face, looking into the ring as Joe releases the hold and sits on the mat with his arm raised. As Orton's distracted, he doesn't see that Noble had grabbed a previously dropped chair. Like a car crash, Noble connects the chair to the back of Randy Orton, who crumples in a heap on the floor. Joe is presented the National Championship by the referee. A disgusted Jamie Noble throws the chair down on the floor that he used to assault Orton with and walks off and back up the ramp. Samoa Joe takes a moment to celebrate his win in the ring and gets to his feet, still favoring his right knee.</p><p> <strong>Winner and New NWA National Champion: Samoa Joe</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><strong>Rating: E+</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><em>Overall Show Grade: E+</em></strong></p><p><strong><em> TV Rating: Less than .01 (7,230 viewers)</em></strong></p><p><strong><em> This show lost us popularity in 2 regions</em></strong></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Thank you everyone for your involvement! I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do a good enough job presenting what I'm doing. I've had to slow my game down quite a bit so I don't forget anything that went on in the shows. There's going to be quite a bit of new information coming out and I'm trying to keep things as down to earth and realistic as possible. I don't want this to become too far fetched and I'm holding back signing up all the available talent. A lot of the available workers I had previously locked down to developmental deals in WCW's development company, so you won't be seeing several other guys joining the NWA unless WCW happens to release them, but I don't see that happening.</p><p> </p><p> I'm looking forward to what happens and my game progress is currently right on line with where this dynasty is. I'm setting up my 3rd show currently and that one is looking pretty exciting! I will be posting the 2nd show review and news and rumors shortly.</p>

<p>NWA Women's Championship:</p><p>

Nora Greenwald vs Trish Stratus vs <strong>Lisa Marie Varon </strong>vs Jazz vs Mickie James</p><p>

<em>Probably the best wrestler of the four at this stage of their careers, and is very good at playing a heel for your faces to challenge in future.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Horace Hogan vs <strong>NOSAWA</strong></p><p>

<em>Eric should bury Horace as a message that he isn't going to play favourites like in WCW.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Barry Darsow & Wayne Bloom vs <strong>The Island Boys (Ekmo Fatu & Kimo)</strong></p><p>

<em>Sticking with my standard practice of taking the regular team over those without a tag name.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CM Punk</strong> vs Matt Bentley</p><p>

<em>Punk needs a win to start building the challenge towards Samoa Joe.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus: What former champion will be making their debut? Hint - This star has been heavily involved in both the WWF and WCW. <strong>Vader</strong></p>

Both announcers run down the events that transpired last week where Samoa Joe defeated three other men to become the NWA National Champion and they also highlight the confrontation that took place between NWA Worlds Champion Curt Hennig and Bryan Danielson. For this week, they hype up tonight's match to crown the NWA Women's champion and also the debuts of NOSAWA, Horace Hogan,</p><p> and the Island Boys. Before they can get any further into tonight's expectations, some menacing music begins to play and out walks the NWA National Champion.</p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Samoa%20Joe%202k2_zpsaqchphu5.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> Joe walks out, who is still sporting heavy tape on his right knee. Joe, you're walking around here with the biggest chip on your shoulder, the biggest ego imaginable! Fact of the matter is, you got lucky last week. You got lucky that Jamie Noble attacked me on the floor last week and kept me from coming in this ring to put an end to you! You think coming out here and calling me out proves that you're a bad ass? Well Joe, I prefer to prove myself by my actions, not by talking! So you go ahead and do something about it!!!</span></span></p><p> </p><p> Both men throw their mics down and begin to step toward one another.</p><p> The crowd buzzes some more, getting excited for a confrontation. Just as it looks like things are about to explode in the ring, Samoa Joe smiles and shakes his head at Orton. Joe turns to exit the ring, which in turn gets Orton to turn around to play to the crowd. This proved to be Orton's mistake,</p><p> taking Joe's bait. Just as Orton turns, Joe drops the title and locks in the Dragon Clutch. Orton flails about, desperately trying to break the hold,</p><p> but he can't. Some officials come from the backstage area and finally manage to get Joe off of Orton, but the damage has already been done.</p><p> Satisfied with his work, Joe collects his title and backs up the aisle as Orton lays in agony in the ring.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/CM%20Punk%20Rookie_zpsmuza7wym.jpg</span> vs <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/Matt%20Bentley_zpscfnkrpad.jpg</span></p><p> It would be a lie to say that this was an even, competitive matchup.</p><p> CM Punk was looking to redeem himself from last week's loss in the National Championship match, especially when he was the one who tapped out.</p><p> Bentley tried his best, but CM Punk proved that he is a force to be reckoned with in the NWA.</p><p> <strong>Winner by pinfall: CM Punk</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><strong>Rating: E+</strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/Barry%20Darsow%2098_zpsej2amnrg.jpg</span><span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/Wayne%20Bloom_zps73oo8ojx.jpg</span>vs <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Samu_zps4lpgvdq2.jpg</span><span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Rikishi%203_zpsfs9wx068.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> This match proved to be a straight up brawl between two tough teams.</p><p> Barry Darsow and Wayne Bloom are not from this area and were brought in under a temporary deal, however, both veterans proved why they were in successful tag teams over the years. Both men tagged well together and managed to be an extremely fluid team. They took it to the Island Boys and didn't back down from their intimidating size. Darsow and Bloom utilized several quick tags and took the opportunity to cut the ring in half, keeping Kimo and Fatu separated. Darsow clearly looked like the one in charge of the match. Despite the difference in age, the Island Boys also took charge when Fatu moved out of the way of Darsow charging in the corner. The team showed their power and agility while also showing uncanny speed for big men. The match ended after a top rope splash from Samu onto Bloom.</p><p> <strong>Winners by pinfall: The Island Boys</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><strong>Rating: D-</strong></p><p><strong> </strong><strong><em>Barry Darsow and Wayne Bloom showed excellent chemistry as tag team partners</em></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Curt%20Hennig20_zpsxashytxi.jpg</span></p><p> The majestic music of the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion hits and out strolls the one and only Curt Hennig. The champion walks out with the title secured firmly around his waist and Bobby Heenan does nothing but sing the praises of Hennig. After Keneley questions his ability to remain impartial,</p><p> Heenan gives him a bit of wrestling knowledge and says he used to manage the champion, so of course he's not impartial. Hennig quickly makes his way into the ring and calls for a microphone.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><span style="color:#A0522D;">I stepped foot in the NWA not only to give it some legitimacy, but to showcase my talent all across the world!</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><span style="color:#A0522D;"> For years I've been overlooked, I've been underrated, and I've been kept from my true potential for one reason or another! I'll be damned if I let some little punk kid like Bryan Danielson put a blemish on my accolades and my reign as the Worlds Champion! So Mr. Danielson, what you can do right now is march yourself out into this ring and you can tell me what it is you plan on doing!</span></span></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/Bryan%20Danielson%202k_zpsaxv5ao1j.jpg</span></p><p> Bryan Danielson does indeed make his way out, much to the surprise of the champion. Once in the ring, Danielson wastes no time getting to the point.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><span style="color:#0000FF;">Curt, I told you last week, I want opportunity. What I plan on doing is earning that opportunity! Not by underhanded tactics, not by smoozing the boss, not by any other way other than earning it! So if I happen to earn that by </span></span><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><span style="color:#0000FF;"><em>Special Attraction</em></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><span style="color:#0000FF;"> or if it's not until some other later event that the NWA's putting on,</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><span style="color:#0000FF;"> then that's what I'm going to do! I've looked up to your ability and emulated your style and have watched you ever since I was a little kid. I have a great deal of respect for you, Curt, and as our Worlds champion, not only do you deserve a challenger that's earned it, but the prestige of that title also deserves it!</span></span></p><p> </p><p> - Curt contemplates the words from the challenger for a moment. He puts his hands on his hips and cocks his head to the side while looking out at the crowd. They begin to give a warm response to the words from Danielson.</p><p> Hennig nods his head after a second and raises the microphone.</p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><span style="color:#A0522D;">Alright....Alright. I hear you Bryan and as a matter of fact, I agree with you, as shocking as that is! My goal is the resurrect the NWA brand and I think it takes an athlete of my caliber to do so! Not only that, but it also requires great challengers such as yourself to chase after this coveted belt! The fact that you'll never win it doesn't matter so much as it makes everyone know that this championship belt is deserving of some great competitors! The NWA wants to keep things on a professional and civil level, so how about we shake on it!</span></span></p><p> </p><p> - Hennig extends his hand for Danielson to shake. He thinks about it for a second, not sure if it's a classic wrestling trap, but eventually goes for it and shakes the hand of Curt Hennig. The crowd eats it up as they enjoy seeing sportsmanship from competitors; something this sport has long since been without. Just as Danielson goes to release the grip and turn away though,</p><p> he's pulled back into a vicious clothesline from Hennig. Danielson goes down in a heap and Hennig begins putting the boots to the fallen challenger.</p><p> Hennig is relentless on his assault of the younger wrestler until....</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/Todd%20Kennely_zpsh3uzdhtl.jpg</span></p><p> <span style="color:#0000FF;"><strong>WHAT?!?!</strong></span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/Bobby%20Heenan%203_zps2w84xhbf.jpg</span></p><p> <span style="color:#0000FF;">This has to be a joke!</span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> - Some very familiar tune begins to play from the speakers. The crowd is in shock at the sound. All eyes, including Curt Hennig's, turn toward the entry way. With the abrupt stop in the assault, Danielson takes the opportunity to roll out of the ring. The sound gets louder from the speakers. The crowd begins to rumble in anticipation. The announce booth tries to guess if it is indeed who they are suspecting, until finally the man steps through the black curtain.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Roddy%20Piper%206_zps1rjnmd20.jpg</span></p><p> - Rowdy Roddy Piper steps through the curtain and the fans become unglued. Hennig also becomes unglued, but not in the same happiness that the crowd is expressing. Piper slowly steps out into the aisle way as he classically does and stalks towards the ring. Piper has a smirk on his face and Todd Keneley tells fans that no one has seen Roddy Piper in any capacity in almost 2 years. Heenan reminds everyone that Piper left WCW in the summer of 1998 after some quite controversial events. Piper steps in the ring and goes face to face with Curt Hennig, taking a microphone of his own out of his trademark black leather jacket. The music dies down but a deafening chant of <strong>PIPER, PIPER</strong> erupts from the fans. Piper plays this up a bit before raising the microphone to speak.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><span style="color:#0000FF;">Welllllllllllll now!!!! They were ready for this matchup between two competitors they're seeing for the first time; NOSAWA and Horace Hogan. Todd Keneley lets the audience know that he doesn't have much informaton on NOSAWA other than he is a high-flier from Japan. Alternatively, he tells fans that Horace Hogan is indeed the nephew of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan and he's trying to break into the business on his own accord. This matchup shows Horace taking more of a no-nonsense approach, taking every opportunity he can to turn it into his advantage.</p><p> NOSAWA plays it more straight in the match which makes things difficult for him to get ahead. All in all, it was a decent match between two guys just feeling out the crowd. Horace Hogan ended up picking up the win after a cheap shot.</p><p> <strong>Winner by pinfall: Horace Hogan</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><strong>Rating: D-</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/NWAWomens_zpsewiznjt9.jpg</span></p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#800080;">NWA Women's Championship</span></span></span></strong></p><p> <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/Trish%20Stratus_zpscqsdmszs.jpg</span> vs <img alt="ay3fyWH.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ay3fyWH.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> vs <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Jazz_zpsngkuptvw.jpg</span> vs <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Lisa%20Marie%20Varon%204_zpsid426zdz.jpg</span> vs <span>http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Nora%20Greenwald_zpslodqwxsk.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> - It's now time for the match that's been hyped up for the last couple of weeks. The crowd were fully amped up for this match and were looking forward to several of the female stars debuting, in addition to crowning the inaugural champion. Jazz right away established her dominance, dropping all the competitors with vicious blows. Varon was the first one to get up and promptly tossed her over the ropes and outside to the floor. Nora Greenwald easily played up the girl-next-door but she was able to hold her own in the ring and wow the fans in the arena and watching at home with some fantastic ring work and even hit a few top rope moves, including one where she dove on all the competitors off the top rope as they all stood down below on the floor. All of the women were able to take a few moments during the match to highlight their talents and show the crowd just who they are.</p><p> Trish Stratus had a lot of moments where she looked like she was going to pull off the win, only for it to be thwarted by Mickie James or Varon. Mickie James tried to play it nice but let her vicious streak show when she got into the action. Several hair pulls and scratches found their mark in attempts to gain advantage. Trish Stratus and Greenwald were the recipients of most of that. At one point in the match, Varon hit a great looking Norther Lights suplex. Just as the referee was about to hit the three count Jazz broke up the pin. Just after breaking up the pin, Stratus hit a top rope Thesz press onto Jazz, immediately going for the pin. Nora was just in time to stop that count. James, Jazz, and now Stratus are all down on the mat. Nora thinks she holds the advantage and takes just a second to celebrate. It proves to be just a second too long though because just when she turns, Varon grabs her and hits the Widow's Peak. She goes right in for the pin and gets it!</p><p> <strong>Winner and the NWA Women's Champion: Lisa Marie Varon</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><div style="text-align:right;"><p><strong>Rating: F+</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><div style="text-align:left;"><p><strong>Overall Show Grade: E+</strong></p><p><strong> TV Rating: Less than .01 (7,370 viewers)</strong></p><p><strong> This show lost popularity in 2 regions</strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p></div><p></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Thank you to all who participated! I've wanted a few other things to take place before doing it though so I had plenty of things to add in it. The first couple of weeks I've just been busy with getting the new promotion set up. There's always going to be new faces showing up, some staying, some only showing once, but it should be fun introducing everyone.</p>

<p>BigBad, it's great to see you back! As always, it's been your dynasties that have encouraged me to start my own, though they never live up to the hype that yours have for me! He's been free-falling since getting here.</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> First Punk, then Noble....I don't want to cut the kid, but I can't keep having to deal with his behavior. On top of that, after last week's show, he came up to me and had the nerve to tell me that Ekmo can't sell and that I should cut him. That was my final nerve. This kid's been in the business for 5 minutes and wants to complain about someone else? Punk happened to overhear Randy's complaint and said out loud that he thinks Ekmo's going to be a future star. While I've never thought Bob was very talented, I'm seriously considering just bringing him in as an agent to try and reel Randy in a bit.</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> I was hoping Piper could do it some, considering the past history between him and Bob.</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> Speaking of Roddy, I was really happy that he agreed to work for me again.</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> We didn't have a very good go of things in WCW. Back in 1998 he had a really rough patch to go through that summer. Hall and Nash were able to cause all kind of grief for him to where he walked out, and I didn't blame him at the time. I was happy that despite all those problems, things never went south between Roddy and me. He was on my sights as soon as I sent my resignation to Turner. He's going to be a pivotal part in getting this company off the ground.</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> I was hoping Jamie Noble was also going to be a main part, but he had other plans. Just before the show a couple weeks back he decided to sign an exclusive contract with WCW, so he told me he'd be leaving. Had things been different, I may have put the National title on him, but it still gave the rest of the boys in the match a good rub.</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> It's going to be a lot more challenging than I thought at getting our tag divison set. One thing that did surprise me though was how fantastic Darsow and Bloom worked together. Those two may become regular features on the show. I think the crowd's responded well so far to our rotation of talent.</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> It does make it somewhat difficult due to constantly introducing new faces,</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> but it brings it back to the old territory feel. Anyone who shows up could be making a huge impact, and that creates excitement for the fans. One thing I hoped to do more of though was have a better trading relationship with All Japan Women's wrestling. I've approached them and offered several deals for some of their other female talent, but they're not interested. They'll eventually come to regret that decision when our women's division starts taking off. I have all the faith that those women will get heads turning,</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> and not just because of their looks.</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> </span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> One thing I'm going to have to make sure of, though, is to always make the fans have their heads on a swivel. Just like I did with Nitro, I'm going to have to make them aware that anyone can show up at any time and that they need to always be on the lookout. That's exactly what's going to happen again at tonight's show. </span></strong></p></div><p></p></div><p></p></div></blockquote>

Friday Week 2, June 2000

Attendance: 1,922

CA Long Beach Grand Ballroom

http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/CM%20Punk%20Rookie_zpsmuza7wym.jpg

Before the show can even get rolling with introductions, the theme for CM Punk begins to play. The crowd all look to the entry way to see the video for Punk and some groans emerge from the audience. Punk casually, and confidently,

makes his way down the small ramp and the short aisle, climbing into a ring.

With a microphone in hand, the music dies down and he begins to say what it is he has to say.

Let me just start off by saying;

Two weeks ago there was a match to crown the very first NWA National Champion in this new company. Two weeks ago, that match featured yours truly as well as some other competitors. One other person in that match,

who is now the National Champion, is Samoa Joe. Joe locked me in his submission. I fought like hell to get out of it. Then you had two other guys in the match playing around out on the floor. Randy Orton and Jaime Noble were too preoccupied with one another to climb in the ring and break up the submission.

Now I don't know about Noble.....He's no longer in this company so I can't do a thing to get my revenge on him. But Orton??? You've got to be some sort of moron to waste an opportunity to climb in the ring and break up a submission. He pretty much cost himself the chance at becoming champion.

Randy Orton, all I have to say to you is this; You better watch your back wherever you go because you screwed me out of a chance at winning the title. Don't kid yourself into thinking you could've become the National Champion, because I'm way too good for you to ever beat me. But Orton,

your day's coming and I'm going to make you regret failing at your chance!

The fact that I'm not standing out here tonight with the championship gold around my waist or over my shoulder. I'm the very best this company has to offer and if Eric Bischoff wanted this company to succeed, he'd open his eyes and quit playing games! I am the best and I'll let anyone prove it!

- At just about that time of concluding his speech, some bagpipes begin to play in the arena. The crowd, who's already hyped for Punks promo,

look in anticipation to the entry stage. The one, the only;

http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Roddy%20Piper%206_zps1rjnmd20.jpg

The announcers hype up the battle between microphones with CM Punk and Roddy Piper. Bobby Heenan comments that Piper's so good, he can swindle a car dealership salesman and CM Punk could learn a thing or two from him.

No one is really clear on Piper's position within the company yet, so they also hype up the possibility for a match between the two; If CM Punk just issued an open challenge and Piper is now seemingly taking it. No one has to wait long though, because Piper climbs in the ring and begins to address the so-called "Best in the World."

Weeeeelllllllll now!!! Ya know, for such a little guy, you sure have a bunch to say!

I find it a little funny, because in this funny business called wrestling,

I've seen a ton of guys just like you come and go! I've seen guys from all over the world trying to make their mark, claim their territory, pee on the fire hydrant...You name it, I'VE SEEN IT! Heck, there's probably not one thing someone's done that I haven't done myself! You know the difference between the two of us, Punk??

I'VE BEEN A SUCCESS STORY!!!!

There ain't one guy I've gone up against who could say Roddy Piper didn't back up the words coming outta my mouth! And yeah, I may talk a lot,

but fella, I ain't afraid to fight either! But the fact remains, my fightin' days have probably come to an end. I ain't a spring chicken anymore, ya know??What I can do, though, is set you in the right direction! I came out here last week and gave Curt Hennig a Reality Check and tonight I'm going to give you a Reality Check!

So I've been allowed by Eric Bischoff to come out here and let you know that next week....Right here on Wrestling Showcase.....Since you want to run that big mouth of yours and call out to face anyone, you're gonna have just that opportunity! Next week, it's put up or shut up time! Ya know why???

Because next week on this show, you're gonna face ABYSS!

Rating: C

Punk looked dreadful in this segment while Piper came across well.

- Piper drops the microphone down and exits the ring. Punk loses his mind at the match that's been set and the crowd gets excited at the news. Speaking of the monster, that brings us to the first match of the night

eiJk8fS.jpg vs http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/Abyss_zps5vvmfuo5.jpg

- This match was nothing but a squash as the much smaller Incognito was manhandled by the huge monster Abyss. The cruiserweight tried as much as he could, but could never inflict a heavy blow. In fact, the more Abyss got hit, the more angry he appeared to be. Incognito tried running off the ropes but Abyss caught him with a huge Black Hole Slam and got the convincing 3 count.

Winner by Pinfall: Abyss

- After a short break, cameras catch Randy Orton backstage warming up for an apparent match. While he's loosening up, he's caught on the back of the neck/head with a devastating clothesline. After focusing on the fallen Orton,

the camera pans up to see none other than.....

http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Samoa%20Joe%202k2_zpsaqchphu5.jpg

NWA National Champion Samoa Joe. Joe looks down at Orton, admiring his destruction. After a moment, Joe has a small smirk overcome his face before walking off without muttering a word.

Rating: F+

The feud between Samoa Joe and Randy Orton lost heat from this segment.

Joe seems to be improving his bully gimmick.

- The action doesn't stop following the vicious attack from Samoa Joe onto Randy Orton. Todd Keneley and Bobby Heenan discuss how Joe is a force to be reckoned with and Heenan comments that he doesn't see anyone in the NWA, not just this company, but the entire Alliance, that can take the National title away from Samoa Joe. Suddenly music for another star begins playing that the crowd have become to know;

http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/Bryan%20Danielson%202k_zpsaxv5ao1j.jpg

I thought last week when I came out here to address the NWA Heavyweight Champion Curt Hennig that I was showing respect not only to Curt Hennig, but most importantly to the NWA Heavyweight title itself. I wanted to show to Curt, to Eric Bischoff, and to all the fans that watch this show that there is so much more to this company and the wrestling business than constant disrespect! There's more to wrestling than cheapshots! There's competition to wrestling and I thought of all people, Curt Hennig would understand that! I thought he wanted to turn over a new leaf and showcase his ability.

Some may have thought that made me a pushover, and maybe they're right.

Maybe I shouldn't had expected Curt to have old school values. Maybe I shouldn't have expected him to carry the NWA title with honor and integrity.

Well that's a mistake I won't make a second time! I told Curt that I wanted to earn a title shot, that I didn't demand one or expect one. I want to earn everything I get here in the NWA and I'm not going to be handed anything on a silver platter....But the fact is, I was given a title shot at Special Attraction and I'm going to show Curt Hennig and the rest of the world why I've earned that title shot!

- Danielson finished his speech, but it doesn't appear that he will be leaving.

Music plays over the speakers but it doesn't belong to Bryan Danielson.

Instead, it's the music for the reigning NWA Heavyweight Champion, but he isn't alone.

http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Curt%20Hennig20_zpsxashytxi.jpghttp://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Horace%20Hogan%202_zpsm1zohfvm.jpg

- Hennig walks out with Horace Hogan. Both men are all smiles as they approach the ring. Danielson is bracing himself for a confrontation but is quickly surrounded by the two men. Hennig gets the attention of Bryan as he begins speaking to him.

Hahaha...That's cute, Bryan, it really is...But just like some other idiot showing up around here, let me give you a.....Reality check...Haha...I've been in this business longer than you've been alive. I'm better at wrestling than you could ever dream. You've got a lotta nerve coming out here and saying what I should or shouldn't be doing.

The only person who's going to be getting a lesson at Special Attraction is you!

In fact....I think I'll go ahead and teach you a lesson right now!

- Bryan didn't even stand a chance. While Hennig was talking, he didn't notice Horace slowly making his way behind him. As soon as Hennig was uttering the words, Horace clocks Bryan on the back of the shoulders with a clubbing clothesline. Bryan crashes to the mat and Hennig and Horace begin putting the boots to the fallen challenger. Heenan exclaims that Danielson is going to be too beat up to compete in the world title match after all the attacks he's received. While the attack is taking place, there seems to be some rumblings from the crowd. Attention is suddenly taken away from what's transpiring in the ring and into the crowd itself. Heads can be seen turning to look at the event and the announcers can only guess what's going on. They don't have to wait long, though, and they can hardly believe what....And who they're seeing. A low crowd rumbling turns into extremely loud cheers as the man is finally seen on camera.

Heenan: What the heck is Lex Luger doing here!!?!?

- They don't have to wonder long, as Luger is coming in from the crowd.

Luger jumps the railing and quickly slides into the ring. Hennig and Horace have their backs to Luger as they're putting the boots to Danielson.

Luger gets to his feet and focuses first to Horace, grabbing him by the pants, spinning him around, and tossing him over the rope to the outside where he crashes down. Hennig notices the interruption out of the corner of his eye and turns to see Luger standing in the ring, now without a shirt on.

Luger flexes at Hennig and yells causing Hennig's eyes to get as big as saucers. Hennig doesn't even challenge Luger and instead bails out of the ring as fast as he can, regrouping with Horace out on the floor, who is now making his way to his feet. The crowd is going crazy as Luger helps Bryan to his feet and checks on him.

http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Nora%20Greenwald_zpslodqwxsk.jpg vs http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/ad191/hendersonjon/WCW/Jazz_zpsngkuptvw.jpg

- The crowd is hot after the last segment and are looking forward to the next matchup featuring two women that were in last week's women's title match.

These two didn't have a ton of action in last week's match, so most fans were ready to see what these two could showcase. Greenwald showed her excellent in ring ability with some dazzling moves while Jazz showed off her unique power and brute attitude. It wasn't a technical masterpiece by any stretch, mainly due to the lack of skill by Jazz. Greenwald did her best,

but some may think it didn't live up to the hype. Still though, for a beginning women's division, it was a solid matchup and provided exposure to two women who are sure to make an impact. Jazz picked up the win after hitting a particularly brutal looking Powerbomb on Nora.

Winner by pinfall: Jazz

- Next we are treated to what the announcers say is an impromptu tag match featuring the NWA Worlds champion Curt Hennig teaming with Horace Hogan to take on the unlikely team of Bryan Danielson and a debuting Lex Luger. The match starts off with Danielson and Horace. Horace uses his strength and height to his advantage over Bryan and uses plenty of power moves. Bryan counters that as best he can with his quickness and stiff kicks.

Bryan did everything he could to get his hands on Hennig and Hennig in turn did his best to avoid both Bryan and Luger. Once Horace got Danielson knocked down, Hennig was quick to tag and attack Danielson. Hennig showed his veteran moves and quickly dismantled the weakened challenger.

Bryan slowly attempted a comeback, only to be cheap shotted by Horace.

This drew Luger into the ring, only to be quickly cut off by the referee.

This distraction allowed vicious double teaming by Hennig and Horace.

Hennig put a battered Danielson in the corner and began chopping him down like a tree, with knife-edged chops ringing throughout the arena. Danielson's chest was becoming beat red as a result. Danielson appeared exhausted in the corner after the team of Horace and Hennig had prevented a tag into Luger so far in this matchup. Hennig goes to the opposite corner and charges in for a clothesline, only for Bryan to roll out of the way. Hennig rebounds out of the corner, staggering, but can't keep Bryan from getting the hot tag to Luger, who's still dressed in his jeans and clearly didn't expect to wrestle here tonight. The crowd blows up as the tag is made into Luger. Hennig tries to beg off The Total Package as he again flexes in the direction of the Worlds champion. Hennig backtracks to his corner where he quickly tags an unsuspecting Horace. Horace looks confused as Hennig bails out of the ring and retreats up the ramp. Luger grabs Horace, who's still outside on the apron and flips him inside over the top rope. Horace gets back to his feet only to meet a clothesline.

Another clothesline.

Another clothesline.

Luger then goes to the corner and is tapping his forearm, calling for the signature move. Horace staggers to his feet and Luger rushes in, hitting the forearm. By the time Luger gets back to his feet, the crowd are already anticipating what's next; The Torture Rack. The crowd go along with Luger as he makes the motion for it. Luger leans over and picks up Horace, putting him in the rack. He only cinches it down a couple of times before Horace is screaming and flailing his arms telling the referee to end it. The bell rings and Luger drops Horace, who painfully rolls to the outside. Inside the ring,

Danielson and Luger celebrate their win as this huge main event and show come to a close.

Winners by submission: Lex Luger and Bryan Danielson

I hope you guys like the show. I apologize that I couldn't do predictions for this week. I tossed up how to do it, but my show is only 1 hour long and it wouldn't look right if I was only hyping 2 matches. There was no way I could hype the main event effectively without giving Luger's debut away. I should get back to predictions for the next show. I have all the news and notes from around the wrestling world to follow!
