The main event of UFC 198 was a slobberknocker that ended in exciting fashion. I'm not saying it's gonna happen immediately, but if you don't think you're gonna see those 2 fight it out again to see who the best really is, then you're f***ing wrong, kid."</em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Palatino Linotype';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Palatino Linotype';">

UFC - NEWS UPDATE

fRLwCJV.jpg

UFC 200: Silva vs St-Pierre

Dana White and the UFC said they would pull out all the stops to make UFC 200 a landmark event and no-one can say that they haven't made good on their word. 2 historic rematches in Holm vs Rousey and Cormier vs Jones (for the respective weight class belts), plus, a dream match of epic proportions? No doubt that this could potentially, and should, go on to be the biggest selling UFC PPV of all-time.

People have discussed and debated back and forth about who would win in a fight between Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre and on August 20th they are going to get to see it. Perhaps it's a few years later than most would've liked but there's no MMA fan who isn't going to want to witness this, potentially, once-in-a-lifetime match.

Dos Anjos vs Nurmagomedov?

The weekend of UFC 200 also sees a UFC Fight Night card the night before feature a stellar line-up headlined by Dominick Cruz defending his title vs Raphael Assuncao. In the semi-main slot, Khabib Nurmagomedov is stepping back into the octagon for the first time in over 2 years to fight B.J Penn but originally plans were to have him face off vs Rafael Dos Anjos for the Lightweight Title. Dos Anjos, however, pulled out before the announcement with a thigh injury that is keeping him out of action/training until mid September.

Diaz suffers debilitating arm injury

Nate Diaz refused to submit in his bout vs Eddie Alvarez at UFC 199: Lawler vs Woodley. Referee Herb Dean had to step in and call off the bout to avoid a risk of injury and, unfortunately for Diaz, his stubbornness has proven costly. Seen leaving the arena with the help of EMT's and clutching his arm in agony, we can confirm that results show that Diaz has suffered extensive damage to his arm and doctors are saying that he'll be out of action and training for up to 2 years, if not permanently. The Lightweight has never been known to back down from a fight and give in easily but, clearly, this was a risk too far for the brother and may have cost him his career.

An excellent second round of action. Both men traded strikes and counter-strikes with the other. Both men were almost floored by the other but the slugfest wore on. A swift exchange from out of nowhere ended the bout. Hendricks stumbled and was clobbered with a left hook from Lombard but as he was hit, he spun around with great speed and floored Lombard with a spinning back fist that ended this fight.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Palatino Linotype';">

Romero's last bout was vs Daniel Cormier and ended in the first. Unfortunately, he suffered a similar fate here. Weidman had no intention of hanging about and making this last any longer than it had to. He dominated and smothered Romero with crunching punches, brutal leg kicks and strong jabs in the clinch.
